Skyrim mod lets you virtually handle the pain of rejection

If you've ever struggled with the pain of rejection, a new Skyrim mod allows you to tackle the fear of being turned down head-on in a virtual safe space. The 'Immersive Rejections' mod from jayserpa adds 'around 100 new voice lines' to Bethesda's open-world RPG game that NPCs will use if you pop the question to someone who doesn't feel quite the same way about you.

Mod creator jayserpa explains that they have not changed the standard conditions to ask someone for their hand in marriage, which requires wearing the amulet of Mara from a Priest in Riften and performing a task to win their favour. Instead, the mod adds the ability to ask NPCs if they are interested in the player at any time while wearing the amulet - regardless of if they will currently (or ever) be interested in accepting.

By default, Skyrim doesn't allow you to express your marital desires to someone unless they're already in a position to accept, so this mod should introduce a little more suspense into the process. As jayserpa notes, "The mod does not modify which NPCs say yes or when the NPCs say yes, it only adds content for all the times where they wouldn't be able to say anything."

AMD teases Zen 4 Ryzen 7000 CPU running at 5.5GHz

During its Computex keynote earlier today, AMD gave us a further glimpse at its upcoming Ryzen 7000 CPUs built on its newest Zen 4 microarchitecture. While the company didn't reveal anything about SKUs or pricing, it did provide further details on the specs of its upcoming chips and even showcased a pre-production unit running gaming and production applications.

Speaking about the design of Zen 4, AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su revealed that Ryzen 7000 CPUs will consist of two chiplets, each of which features up to eight cores for a total of 16 across the processor. A dedicated I/O die is also a part of the package, enabling support for PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 gaming RAM, in addition to RDNA 2 integrated graphics.

Not content to let specs speak for themselves, Su concluded the presentation with game capture of Ghostwire: Tokyo running on a pre-production 16-core Ryzen 7000 processor. The chip turbos up to 5.5GHz, which is not only the fastest clock speed seen on a team red processor, but also matches the best gaming CPU on the market, the Intel Core i9-12900KS.

A gaming PC desk made of radiators is a summer nightmare

In an effort to make the quiestest and coolest gaming PC possible, a desk made entirely of liquid cooler radiators sounds like an ingenious solution that could have you cranking game settings up to max without your rig breaking a sweat. Unfortunately, the same might not be said for you, as the heat has to go somewhere.

The idea comes from a Linus Tech Tips viewer, Depressed Zip File, and the YouTuber swiftly makes the dream a reality with the help of Flexispot tabletops, Alphacool liquid radiators, and Protocase fittings. It's not something you could easily do at home, as it uses eight 560mm radiators, the brackets are laser cut and pressed with hydraulics, and there's a whole lot of drilling and improvising to get it working.

As Linus says, the end result looks fantastic with an "industrial chic" that most gamers would be happy to have in their home. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card under the hood peaks at just 53-degrees when running Doom Eternal at its highest settings with ray tracing at more than 200fps. The temperature of the Intel Core i9-12900KS gaming CPU is a bit higher at 82-degrees, saved from overheating by the copper IHS and liquid metal cooling - but still, it's benching a lot and still running strong.

The best MG42 loadout in Warzone Pacific

Want to know what the best Warzone MG42 loadout is? If you're looking for a Call of Duty Vanguard weapon to bring something unique into Call of Duty's battle royale mode, look no further. The MG42 is less of an LMG and more a terrifying monster with one of the most ludicrous rates of fire in the game. Best used at medium ranges, the MG42 is definitely one to try out.

You should look to use the best MG42 loadout on whole squads of baddies that are fairly close to you, so we suggest you bring a sniper rifle along for long range enemies - maybe the best 3-Line Rifle loadout if you're feeling like busting heads from miles away. With this MG42 loadout, we want to balance the extreme fire rate and damage with a decent level of accuracy.

Don't grab this weapon thinking you'll be laser beaming enemies like it's a Stoner 63. The MG42 is a whole different ball game that might take a bit of getting used to. It's well worth the effort though, and before long you'll win games with our best MG42 loadout for Warzone Pacific.

This V Rising armor lets you be a sparkly Twilight vampire

A V Rising armour leak has revealed a new set coming to the survival game which allows players to turn their character into a sparkly teen vampire from the Twilight movies. Yes, you'll soon be able to cosplay as Robert Pattinson - and no, not that one.

V Rising is already proving a hit on Steam, with the goal being to ultimately create your own all-powerful Dracula. As spotted by Demone Kim on YouTube, developer Stunlock Studios could add the option for players to create a very different famous vampire. The YouTuber was "digging around in the files" for the vampire game and found details on a new gear set, with some very familiar properties.

This armour set allows players to "become immune to sun damage", which is extremely useful, but the note that it also makes their characters "sparkle when standing in the sun" should raise the eyebrows of anyone familiar with the Twilight series. Just to spell it out even further, it is literally called the Twilight armour set.

     V Rising blood essence guide

V Rising blood essence is what makes your vampiric world go around. You use it to keep your castle from decaying, you can replenish your health from it, and it's an essential resource for crafting new gear and buildings. However, it's not always clear in the early access vampire game how to efficiently get hold of it and what you should be doing with it once you've built up a vast blood bank.

For starters, you can't get V Rising blood essence from every enemy type in the game - it might surprise you to learn that those undead skeletons are pretty dry. When you do find enemy types whose veins are coursing with crimson, you gain different traits by slurping the sanguine of different enemy types. Eventually - when you get beyond the first few hours of V Rising - you'll come across craftables and new buildings that require 'greater blood essence', which is even harder to get hold of.

To help you unclot the whole thing, we've prepared a quick guide to V Rising blood essence, showing you how to get it, what it's used for, and how to get the rarer 'greater blood essence' variant.

PCSX2 update makes the PS2 emulator easier to use

The latest PCSX2 update gives the PS2 emulator an overhaul, including a shiny new interface and native Dualshock 4 and Dualsense controller support. While the open-source solution is one of the best ways to play PlayStation 2 games on your gaming PC, the latest version switches out its minimalist UI with a new GUI framework Qt-based front end.

The latest version of the PS2 emulator arms the PCSX2 with a grid menu that supports library box art and a more traditional list-style interface. If you've used the DuckStation PS1 emulator, you'll likely recognise PCSX2's new look, as both options feature a similar aesthetic and layout.

Of course, the new PCSX2 update isn't all style, as the package includes plenty of settings substance. For starters, you can now tweak emulator options like PC controller mapping per game, enabling you to maximise playability without upsetting your entire library. Speaking of gamepads, the software now supports modern Sony pads, which negates the need for additional shenanigans when using a Dualshock 4 or PS5 Dualsense.

Dota 2 The International 2022 heads to Singapore in October

Valve's biggest yearly Dota 2 competition is set to take place in October, with Dota 2 The International 2022 being hosted in Singapore. The location was all but confirmed over the past few days in a series of teasing photo shoots posted to the game's official Twitter account, but we now have a date for what is likely to be the biggest esports tournament of the year, at least in terms of prize pool.

Dota 2's annual The International tournament is the biggest of Valve's Dota 2 'Majors' and the culmination of the MOBA game's yearly esports cycle. Last year's tournament, which took place in Bucharest and was won by TSpirit, reached a record prize pool of just over $40 million USD. Racking up a cumulative 107.23 million hours watched, it was also the second most-watched esports event of last year behind LoL's Worlds tournament.

The International's vast winner's prize has been trending upwards ever since the third tournament in 2013, where Valve began fundraising through its tournament-specific 'TI battle pass' sales, a percentage of which goes towards the total reward fund. This crowdfunding approach has seen TI holding the top six spots in the largest overall prize pools list for esports tournaments, with each consecutive year topping the one prior.

A Fortnite Pac-Man collab will kick off Chapter 3 Season 3

A Fortnite Pac-Man collab is the next gaming crossover revealed for Epic's battle royale game, before even the much-leaked Fall Guys event. More than that, Pac-Man is due to hit the island alongside the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 start date at the beginning of next month.

Suspicions of a potential crossover between Fortnite and Pac-Man first appeared this weekend, which was the 42nd anniversary of the launch of the original Pac-Man arcade game in Japan - a fact which the official Fortnite Twitter account congratulated the Pac-Man account on. Pac-Man is a regular guest on Nintendo's Smash Bros but has not yet appeared in Fortnite.

Shortly afterward, the official Japanese Pac-Man website confirmed that the original videogame star is indeed coming to Fortnite next month. Sadly, don't expect to see players in the multiplayer game dressing up as giant yellow balls rolling around the remains of Tilted Towers, as the site suggests the crossover will only include "items with the 'Pac-Man' motif" rather than skins for Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, and Baby Pac-Man. Shame.

The Steam Deck only had a few weeks of getting to know Final Fantasy XIV before the latter's 6.08 update wrenched them apart. In less undeservedly romantic terms, it was the MMO's newly added launcher that – unlike the rest of the game – didn't work well at all with the Deck's Proton compatibility software. Two months later, however, Valve have released an update on Proton's experimental branch that fixes the launcher, making FFXIV playable on the handheld PC once again.

Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak - Lance VS Barroth

Capcom has published two new weapon videos for Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak. Each video showcased the Lance and Long Sword, respectively. As with all other weapons, both of them will receive new alternative moves and Silkbind Attacks.

The Lance will receive Skyward Thrust as an alternative Silkbind Attack to the Anchor Rage counter move. The Hunter will use the Wirebug to jump up high and thrust the weapon downwards. Capcom will also add Shield Tackle that can instantly deal blunt damage as a replacement option for Guard Dash.

[tnm_video layout="mnmd-post-media"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoLW5rR3d1Y[/tnm_video]

The Long Sword will have a new Silkbind move named Harvest Moon, though it has no relation to Natsume's farming simulation game franchise. It will generate a ringed area where counters executed inside will deal more hits. Capcom will also add Sacred Sheathe Combo as a new alternative to Special Sheathe.

[tnm_video layout="mnmd-post-media"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frHRZfTcHGs[/tnm_video]

Capcom has been gradually publishing weapon videos for Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak since May 16, 2022. It had previously released videos for the Switch Axe, Great Sword, and Gunlance, to name some of the fourteen weapon types available in the game. Following this wave, Dual Blades and Light Bowgun are the last two weapons yet to receive their own videos.

Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak will be available for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on June 30, 2022.

Square Enix will release two new Final Fantasy knit plushes, one of the Cactuar and one of the Moogle. Each plush will cost 3,850 yen (about $30) and will release in Japan on September 24, 2022. Pre-orders for the plushes are immediately available through the Square Enix e-Store. [Thanks, Gamer!]

The version of the Moogle that will be made into a knit plush, alongside the Cactuar, resembles its appearance in Final Fantasy IX. The Cactuar will retain its signature look, as it doesn't vary significantly between games like the Moogle does. The plushes will be made out of yarn, similar to other "amigurumi" plushes. The store listing does mention that the final products could potentially appear different than how they look in the photos, as they are currently in production.

Rainbow Six Siege Yakuza DLC

The Dragon of Dojima has been spending some time at the shooting range. A new batch of Yakuza crossover skins for Rainbow Six Siege is coming soon. Ubisoft is selling the Rainbow Six Siege Yakuza Bundle, which adds cosmetic skins for two characters from the Yakuza series for the game's existing Japanese Operators. The DLC arrives in-game on May 24, 2022.

Check out a trailer for the bundle below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rnZeKj9SWM

The Rainbow Six Siege Yakuza skins are meant for the characters Echo and Hibana. The two Operators are described as members of Japan's Special Assault Team counter-terrorism unit. They joined the playable roster in 2016 as part of Operation Red Crow, the game's fourth free expansion. Echo flies a pair of hovering drones that can stick to surfaces and disorient foes with ultrasonic bursts. Hibana is equipped with a special launcher weapon that fires breaching pellets that can be detonated remotely to bust through reinforced walls.

Check out the trailer for Operation Red Crow, which shows how Echo and Hibana look normally.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12hNVzz4CYY

Echo gets a skin replicating Kazuma Kiryu's iconic grey suit and red shirt, as well as a cosmetic that decorates his MP5SD submachine gun with a design like Kiryu's back tattoo. Hibana gets a skin that makes her look like Kaoru Sayama from Yakuza 2. Kaoru was the lead detective of the Osaka police department's 4th Division and played a major role in Yakuza 2, and appeared again in Yakuza 3. Hibana also gets a weapon skin for the Type-89 assault rifle that outfits it with a Japanese police badge. The trailer also ends with a tease for another Rainbow Six Yakuza DLC bundle, with a silhouette and voice familiar to any Yakuza fan: That of Goro Majima. This Majima bundle will also arrive as an Elite Skin for Echo but doesn't have a firm release date.

The first wave of Rainbow Six Siege Yakuza DLC arrives on May 24, 2022. The game is available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Google Stadia, and Xbox Series X|S. Yakuza series developer RGG Studio is working on a sequel to Yakuza: Like A Dragon, as well as new IP.
