Players trying out the remake of one of the best RPG games on PC in its latest iteration have been tackling the new feature, which creates deadly packs of pumped-up enemies in certain areas of the map, offering a chance at better gear and an alternative way to approach reaching the Diablo 2 max level in a season. Diablo community manager Adam 'PezRadar' Fletcher updates players on the feedback the Diablo 2 team has received during the first week of PTR testing for Diablo 2 Resurrected patch 2.5. He says that the general changes players can expect include a rotation of areas where Terror Zones can appear, to acccount for places where they didn't work well. There will also be further info provided on the unlock conditions and duration for Terror Zones to improve clarity for players. Fletcher says that some players remarked that the Terror Zone enemies didn't feel quite as challenging as expected, but notes that a large proportion of this feedback came specifically from players using a Hammerdin, one of the best Diablo 2 Resurrected Paladin builds. Fletcher explains that the team has some ideas resulting from this discovery, and that he expects the resulting changes - set to be announced soon - to "create a bit of a shift in build/class opportunities for players." Otherwise known as simulacra, Tower of Fantasy characters are largely cosmetic skins in this anime game. While it's possible to imbue these avatars with minor buffs via the awakening system, most of their skills and abilities are tied to the weapon they wield. Team composition in Tower of Fantasy is closer to a weapons loadout, and the best characters are actually the best Tower of Fantasy weapons. However, for the purposes of this Tower of Fantasy tier list, we'll primarily be referring to the weapons you pull by the name of the simulacra that comes with them. This tier list also takes into account advancement, which is what happens when you collect a duplicate of an SR or SSR weapon – similar to Genshin Impact's constellation and weapon refinement mechanics. You're Aegis, a feminine robot created to entertain and protect Queen Marie Antoinette. Marie, safe outside Paris but somewhat peeved at her husband's new penchant for extreme mass murder, sends you on a Soulslike mission to sort it all out. This takes some doing, but luckily Aegis is a very advanced robot, the bestest of all the robots. Slight but adaptive with it, and even having an advanced AI, Aegis can carve a swift path through the more than usually twisted metal in her way. It's a bit too easy, in fact. |

Studio Wildrose and Matsuzo Machida have released some new information on the story and characters of Penny Blood. This is the game that is part of the Double Kickstarter with Armed Fantasia. The majority of the staff on Penny Blood are ones who worked on the Shadow Hearts series. Penny Blood will be a dark and tragic gothic horror JRPG set in the 1920s. [Thanks, Famitsu!] While Penny Blood will not be a continuation or a spin-off of the Shadow Hearts series, it takes quite a few cues from it in its story and characters. According to an interview with designer and writer Machida, Penny Blood takes place in the 1920s because Shadow Hearts skipped over it. Koudelka's setting was the late 1890s, while the first two Shadow Hearts games were from 1913 to 1915. Shadow Hearts 3 skips to around 1929, fitting Penny Blood between Covenant and From the New World. Despite all of marketing around Penny Blood's gothic horror influences, there will be comedic elements. It will have a similar balance to Shadow Hearts Covenant. The story was serious, but there were comedic characters and side quests. The plot follows Matthew Farrell, a private detective. During an investigation at a New York mental hospital, he encounters some bizarre monsters. He uses his hidden powers to defeat them, and travels from America to Asia to Europe to solve a case. Some locales he will visit include North Tarrytown (A.K.A. Sleepy Hollow) and Asakusa. [gallery columns="2" ids="934980,934982" link="file"] It is unknown how many party members will appear in Penny Blood but so far we know of three. Matthew is an Irish-American and a private eye. He is a veteran from World War I, and can use Fusion to turn into a monster. According to an interview with Machida, the team created Matthew to have a different perspective than Yuri or Johnny from Shadow Hearts. Emilia is the heroine of the game, and is a member of the British secret intelligence. She visited Japan as a bodyguard for the American ambassador. Emilia is also part cyborg. Machida has stated that Emilia may be the most powerful party member in terms of battle. The third character we know about is Suseri Otsuki, a Japanese teenager who is also a "miko strategist" for Kamuzumi. Kamuzumi is a Japanese organization for defeating monsters. She joins Matthew and Emilia after they save her in Japan, and she uses holy mirrors in battle. Unlike the more aggressive Emilia, Suseri is a quiet "yamato nadeshiko" type. A new plush modeled after Waddle Dee from the Kirby series will appear with a USB-connected warmer in Japan. Bandai Spirits has opened pre-orders for the plush on the Japanese Premium Bandai web store. The item will be available at 5,480 yen (~$38). The price tag includes tax but excludes shipping and handling fees. [Thanks, 4Gamer!] The plush will have a size of around 33cm (~13 inches), and the USB cable will be around 1.8m (~71 inches) long. About 30 seconds after connecting the USB cable, the polyester plush will start to generate heat, reaching a temperature of around 42-46°C (107.6-114.8°F) which will give comfort to the user. The plush's internal system will keep it warm after a full charge and the USB charger is disconnected for around an hour. Waddle Dee will join Kirby, who previously received a similar plush. Bandai Spirits released a USB warmer plush featuring the eponymous series protagonist in November 2020. Its initial stock sold out within a few hours. The company restocked Kirby's plush at least twice in December 2020 and February 2021. It also announced that it had sold over 30,000 units of all plushes in the same series. A new combat-oriented event is nigh. The Genshin Impact Fayz Trials kick off in-game from September 8, 2022 until September 26th. As with other limited-time events in the game, players stand a chance to earn Primogems, materials for character and weapon improvements, and Mora. What's new to the rotation this time, though, is taking dubious substances. To enter the event, players will need to be above Adventurer Rank 20, and have completed the Archon Quest Prologue Act III. According to HoYoVerse, the Genshin Impact Fayz Trials involve testing out a series of experimental potions from Jami, a Sumeru academic. Players will then enter the Fayz Trial facility and defeat enemies to earn "Fayz Tinctures" (a tincture is a form of dissolved medicine, usually drunk orally). Store up enough Fayz Tinctures and you'll charge up the Fayz Potion special ability. Triggering it expands the Traveler's mind, improving their situational awareness to the point time itself seems to stop. From there, they can zoom in and out with a camera-like viewfinder, capturing enemy "weaknesses" in their vision. Accumulating enough weaknesses activates "Supersense", a powerful skill that has a buff effect that varies depending on the challenge. Effects range from massive damage-dealing elemental effects to more subtle buffs that improve combat performance. The Fayz Trials also unlock various Trial Characters, allowing players to use or try out characters they don't yet own. The Genshin Impact Fayz Trials begin on September 8, 2022 and end on September 26, 2022. The game itself is available on PS4, PS5, PC, Android, and iOS devices.
