Pokémon Scarlet and Violet may be pretty busted, but they're also a lot of fun. Being able to choose where to go next and take on quests and gym leaders out of order is a breath of fresh air.      Best RTS games on PC in 2022

It's impossible to overstate how enjoyable RTS games can be. There are few things as satisfying as building up an immense army and simply washing over your foes like a river over stones, erasing their existence as effortlessly as a click.

Starcraft and Age of Empires largely define the genre and are some of the best PC games out there, but indie games like Northgard and Driftland have shown plenty of other voices can be heard.

The best dinosaur games for PC in 2022

Looking for a list of the best dinosaur games on PC in 2022? Whether you're looking to hunt the Mesozoic monsters or want to stomp and chomp humans while playing as them, the appeal of dinosaurs in gaming is endless.

What is not endless, however, is the number of dino games that successfully realise that fantasy. Let's be honest: until recently, fans of dinosaurs and big guns haven't exactly walked the primrose path, even on PC. It's been a long hard road, marked by velociraptors that look like lumpy dogs, rifles that feel as satisfying as lobbing a bullet by hand, and jeeps that seem to magnetically roll themselves into a nearby ditch, no matter what keys you press.

Still, the undeniable lure of blasting a T-Rex in the face with a grenade launcher continues to resonate with a great portion of the gaming public, and while few triple-A developers have proffered quality dino games, there are a few ambitious indie dinosaur games that fill the gap in the market. If dino thrills are what you're looking for, here are the best dinosaur games on PC.

How much have I spent on League of Legends?

Ever ask yourself 'How much have I spent on League of Legends?' Riot Games' hugely successful MOBA is technically a free game, but if you ask any avid fan if that's the case, you'll no doubt receive a wry laugh in response. The 160-strong champion pool is diverse and wonderful; each character can be purchased with currency earned while playing - the premium cosmetics, however, are bought with real-world money.

These cosmetics - skins, mainly - can be purchased directly using something called RP, purchasable in bulk using your hard-earned cash. These skins change the base look of the character you're playing, with premium cosmetics adding completely new effects, voice lines, and animations. There's also a battle pass that can be bought using RP, this rewards you the more you play, so may seem like the most efficient way to spend your money.  So while the MOBA is technically a free PC game, you can see just how easily it can sway you into parting with your money. This guide will give you the information needed to find out exactly how much you've spent in League of Legends.

World of Warcraft Dragonflight talents system and trees explained

Everything old is new again, and that includes WoW Dragonflight talents. The talents system in Blizzard's acclaimed MMORPG has received a welcome overhaul, though long-time veterans may notice it bears more than a passing resemblance to the talent trees prior to Mists of Pandaria, before the system received its simplified (and somewhat controversial) overhaul.

The biggest complaint concerning WoW's talents system in recent years is its distinct lack of choice while shaping your character's abilities, which many felt counterproductive in an RPG game. Thankfully, the talent trees in WoW Dragonflight actively encourage class experimentation, with the freedom to switch up your build whenever you please. Here is everything you need to know about WoW Dragonflight talents.

WoW Dragonflight tier list – best classes for PvE and PvP

Our WoW Dragonflight tier list focuses on the best overall performance provided by classes in both PvP and PvE, whether you're going solo or as part of a group. Every class in WoW has been subject to rebalancing over the course of the MMO's lifetime, though some classes have felt the effects more than others. Whether you're new to the game or a returning player, our tier list identifies which classes are dominating the WoW Dragonflight meta.

It's worth noting before we begin that this WoW Dragonflight tier list presupposes that your character is performing as it should with respect to their class and spec. The WoW Dragonflight talents system overhaul now offers more class customisation than the MMORPG has seen in recent years, but it also means that your mileage may vary depending upon the talents you've chosen. If you're running a suboptimal build for your class, you're liable to have a very different view of where your class falls on our tier list.

Somewhere in the region of 8,000 games have been removed from Steam since its inception, from the mass banning of "fake games", to publishers removing their own titles due to licensing disputes, pending re-releases, personal disillusionment, server shutdowns and political scandals. Valve even took down one of its own games. Released in 2004 with Steam AppID 92, Codename: Gordon is a Flash-based 2D side-scroller set in the Half-Life universe, developed by Nuclearvision and published by Valve. It was removed due to a hard-coded link to the now-defunct developer's domain, which Valve regarded as a security risk.

But removed isn't always the same as gone, and exploring Steam's deleted items is an adventure through modern gaming history. I spoke to some developers of delisted games to find out more.

A conversation in the RPS Treehouse the other day reminded me that there is only one game I have ever completed for the first time and then finished again, all within the span of a week. That game was The Walking Dead: The Final Season.

Having played all three previous seasons of Telltale's choose-your-own-zombie-apocalypse tearjerker (plus the 400 Days DLC and the Michonne spin-off), it's no surprise that I was incredibly invested in Clementine's story by The Final Season. I'm not a big kid person, typically, but you'd have to be beyond heartless not to love little Clem, wouldn't you? Even though, by the time TFS rolls around, she's grown into medium-sized Clem, and is a bit bloody scary to boot.

Card-based strategy games seem to have really found their feet over the last 12 months. Now that we're a few years clear of Slay The Spire's chokehold over the genre, deckbuilders are starting to come thick and fast in a variety of exciting mash-ups. This year alone, I've sunk a hefty number of hours into the deckbuilding tower defence 'em up ORX, got lost in the tabletop plots of Foretales, and later this week we'll see the launch of Marvel's Midnight Suns, the new card-based strategy RPG from XCOM makers Firaxis. It's a good time to be a fan of deckbuilders, is what I'm saying, and early next year the mythological exploits of Mahokenshi will be looking to carry the baton forward into 2023.

Made by the Paris-based Game Source Studio, this turn-based strategy battler sees you take control of four types of samurai as you seek to bring balance to a mystical realm above the clouds. Oni, goblins and other creatures from Japanese myth are your primary antagonists here, but its hexagonal islands are also stuffed full of text-based narrative events, sidequests, and treasure troves to uncover. It's a lot to take in, but the latter in particular are vital to your success. That's because every time you start a new mission in Mahokenshi, you'll be going in with a completely fresh deck - and based on an early preview build I've been playing recently, it's both an ingenious way to keep things feeling fresh, but it can also be a double-edged sword when it comes to trying out new tactics.

Starship Troopers, Paul Verhoeven's deliberately scene-chewing take on Robert Heinlein's dubious classic of military sci-fi, has been adapted for PC a fair bit. Games based on the interstellar action of the movie tend to end up veering towards the strategy genre though, such as the recent Terran Command. Well, Offworld Industries have loaded up a dropship with Starship Troopers: Extermination and plonked the licence right where it belongs on Planet Co-op FPS. It's targeting a 2023 release, and probably the head carapace of a very confused giant alien insectoid, too. You can watch a short teaser for the game below.

The latest Atelier Ryza 3 update involves details about a key that makes keys, alchemy, characters, and other gameplay elements.

A new Atelier Ryza 3 trailer appeared, and it shows off some new characters, a mysterious key that can make keys, and different gameplay elements. It also hints at how Faurre's mysteries will help Ryza and her friends learn more about the world and protect Kurken Island.

Here's the new Atelier Ryza 3 trailer, which kicks off with a key that creates keys, introduces characters, and shows gameplay. It begins with Ryza, Lent, Klaudia, and Tao with a newly crated key created by another key. This means a new opportunity to explore. From there, it shows off new characters like Sardonica's artisan society head Federica, the Faurre warrior Dian, and the Oren's Kala. We then get to see Ryza riding different creatures to explore the world and reach new areas. From there it focuses on gathering, exploring, cooking, fighting, and using alchemy to synthesize things.

Witch on the Holy Night Trailer Introduces Alice Kuonji

People can learn more about one of the Witch on the Holy Night (Mahoyo) characters, as an English trailer appeared for Alice Kuonji. She's a witch who appears as a major member of the cast. She also happens to be a witch.

The video begins with Alice addressing her "student," Aoko Aozaki. Alice is a witch who lives alone in a mansion and acts as a mentor to the young girl who is also magically inclined. The trailer features her talking about Robin, a bird that was a gift for her mother, and offering suggestions to Aoko for dealing with things. It also notes she's voiced by Kana Hanazawa. Hanazawa also played Chiaki in Danganronpa, Mayuri Shiina in Steins;Gate, Mitsuri Kanroji in Demon Slayer, and Marie in Persona 4 and its spin-offs.

Super Mario Bros. Animated Movie

New images emerged from the Super Mario Bros animated movie, illustrating some locations from both the Mushroom Kingdom and what looks to be the "real world" setting. Similarly, art of the posters for the Super Mario movie leaked ahead of a planned Nintendo Direct promotion. The broadcast is scheduled for 2pm PT/5pm ET/11pm CET on November 29, 2022. [Thanks, Figment_Jedi!]

The officially-released art was revealed by the Super Mario Bros animated movie account and shows off an interior shot of what looks to be Princess Peach's throne room.

The throne room features a massive stained glass window depicting Peach in profile. Below the dais are portraits showing scenes from the Mushroom Kingdom.

Ahead of the reveal, images for Super Mario character movie posters and other promotional art leaked, and were posted to social media.

The posters include one featuring Bowser and the Koopas, as well as Mario, Peach, Luigi, and Toad. One particular poster is intriguing, as it shows the Mario Brothers on Earth, posing with their plumbing business, Super Mario Bros. Plumbing. One poster even shows a map situating the brothers' service area in and around Brooklyn Heights, a real-world neighborhood in New York City. In the background, fans spotted a character that looks very similar to Pauline, heroine of Donkey Kong and mayor of New Donk City in Super Mario Odyssey.

Check them out in the gallery.

Square Enix detailed how the Crisis Core FFVII Reunion Buster Sword battle stance system will work and shared a new trailer

As Square Enix mentioned before, the Crisis Core: Final Fantasy remaster does more than make the game look better. There is new content there, like new gameplay elements. Among them is the inclusion of a Crisis Core: FFVII Reunion take on the FFVII Remake Buster Sword Battle Stance system, which lets Zack switch strategies. Square Enix went through it and showed some screenshots in a new update. It also comes up in the just-released Crisis Core: FFVII Reunion launch trailer.

The idea of battle stances came up in FFVII Remake with Cloud. Players could change how his attacks worked by swapping between the Operator and Punisher Modes to prioritize certain sorts of abilities. In Crisis Core: FFVII Reunion, Zack's Battle Stance lets a person use attack points to change his priorities when attacking with the Buster Sword. Names weren't mentioned for the stances in the update. However, one prioritizes his abilities, while the other ups his defense and allows him to use Strong Attacks.

Here are the two new screenshots showcasing Strong Attacks.

Next, here's the Crisis Core: FFVII Reunion launch trailer. It gives people a chance to see many important characters, like Zack, Sephiroth, Angeal, and Genesis. After the 50 second mark, it starts showing off gameplay. In those segments, people can see the new Zack using the new Crisis Core: FFVII Reunion Buster Sword Battle Stance system. Just be careful, as there are spoilers for the ending in the video below.

Athena Bishoujo figure

Previews from the MegaHobby Expo 2022 revealed a new entry into Kotobukiya's "Bishoujo" figure lineup. The latest casts back through fighting game history. Its target? Athena Asamiya, veteran of The King of Fighters. Like others in the line, the Athena Bishoujo figure is based on the updated design from artist Shunya Yamashita. This is the first look at the painted prototype. [Thanks, Dengeki!]

The Athena Bishoujo figure is manufactured from PVC and is sized at 1/7th scale. Athena's costume is based on her appearance from The King of Fighters '98, one of the most iconic entries in the long-running fighting game series. Athena's '98 costume takes inspiration from a Chinese blouse, with gold knotted fasteners down the right breastline. She also wears her fighting gloves, short pants, boots, and hairband with a star accent.

Athena Bishoujo figure

Athena is best known as one of the longest-serving members of The King of Fighters series rosters. She was present at the beginning, as part of The King of Fighters '94's roster. That said, her origins predate KOF. She was present as far back as 1987, in SNK's Psycho Soldier. She also traces her family line to that of Princess Athena, star of the 1986 platformer Athena. She even had her own solo game, the Japan-exclusive PS1 adventure game Athena: Awakening from the Ordinary Life. She appeared in KOF '94 as part of the Psycho Soldier Team alongside Sie Kensou and Chin Gentsai. She's even been a consistent presence in brand crossovers, appearing in SNK vs. Capcom, Metal Slug Defense, and even Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a Spirit and stage cameo.

Kotobukiya's Athena Bishoujo figure is in development and does not have a release window at the time of this writing. Other Bishoujo series crossovers include Lilith from Darkstalkers and Optimus Prime from Transformers.

Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion

Final Fantasy VII Remake set a precedent for Square Enix remakes going forward. The entire combat system was overhauled to make the game appeal to more modern sensibilities and a broader audience. With gameplay pivoting from ATB turn-based battles to something more action oriented, it positioned the future of the franchise away from its more classic elements. But before it came another game that shook up the formula, and it wasn't Final Fantasy XV. It was Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, a prequel entry to the much beloved Final Fantasy VII, now it is coming back with its Reunion remaster.

After the resounding success of Final Fantasy VII Remake, remastering Crisis Core seemed like the most logical solution. But what Square Enix has provided is a little more than just a standard remaster. All characters in the game are fully voiced, and the in-game graphics have been given a significant overhaul. While Zack no longer looks close to his original model or even cinematic model, given how the art direction for the series shifted, the upgrade feels decent enough in its overall presentation. It helps make the experience look more up-to-date and appealing to those unfamiliar with the original release on the PlayStation Portable.

Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion

However, one thing about Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion in its early hours that sticks out above everything else is how little it actually changed, and how much better it is for it. Outside of those major graphic upgrades to character models, the scenery, and visual effects, this updated version of Crisis Core just slaps on a better looking skin to an already great game. Even within the first three chapters, I immediately recognized why this remaster genuinely just feels good to play — and it's because the original game had all of the bells and whistles to make it something really special.

Crisis Core functions on a more action focused combat system, with random battles relegated to instances of enemies appearing on your screen that you can hack away at with Zack's sword or light up with an assortment of magic. These contained battles work super well and always appear in fairly short bursts that don't overstay their welcome. This format carried over from the PSP release, but suits the remaster fairly well. You can also equip Materia to cast spells or use special attacks using the MP or AP resources to take care of foes. These Materia can also be equipped and leveled up, to make them (and Zack) stronger as a result.

Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion

There is a whole complex system here that can be dug into, which involves Materia fusing and lots of grinding, but it works in tandem with the general gameplay elements. It's easy to lose yourself in the game, especially since outside of the main scenario there are also side quests which provide rewards in both items and Materia, as well as valuable unlocks that you'll want to grind for. This makes for an already meaty experience, even fairly early on, since natural story progression unlocks more than a few of these side missions fast enough that you can grind to level up your Materia.

Overall, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion feels like it will be something fun to revisit because it has aged so spectacularly well. This is largely in part because of how well polished the original release of the game is. It's something to definitely look forward to, especially with the gaps it can fill out for newcomers to the Final Fantasy extended universe. If Square Enix chooses to stick with what made Crisis Core such a fantastic title to begin with, it's sure to stick the landing and pull another generation of players back into Midgar.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion will come out for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC on December 13, 2022.

ffvii remake tifa leather gloves header

According to a development diary tweet for FFVII Remake, the team had to implement a change to Tifa's gloves in a Chapter 3 cutscene. This is the scene in which Tifa makes a cocktail for Cloud when they visit Seventh Heaven together. In the scene, Tifa is wearing Leather Gloves no matter what she might equip beforehand.

If the player had equipped the Mythril Claws onto Tifa, she will still wear them in this cutscene. However, the development team realized something. They have such an impressive aura that they can alter the mood of the whole scene. For reference, Tifa makes two cocktails for Cloud, with Cloud complimenting her second one. Afterwards, Tifa chuckles out of embarrassment.

[gallery columns="2" ids="941425,941426" link="file"]

However, the development team worried that the Mythril Claws would give off such intensity that the meaning of Tifa's laugh would change. So no matter what, Tifa will always wear Leather Gloves in this FFVII Remake Chapter 3 scene, so as to preserve the atmosphere of her conversation with Cloud.

FFVII Remake came out in 2020 and is the first of a trilogy of games that would remake the 1997 classic Final Fantasy VII. While not part of this trilogy, a remake of the FFVII prequel, Crisis Core, is in development. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion will come out on December 13, 2022 for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC. There are currently no plans to remake or remaster FFVII Before Crisis or Dirge of Cerberus.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is available for the PS4. The enhanced version, FFVII Remake Intergrade, is available for the PS5 and Windows PC.

Here's our guide on how to surf on water in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Note: We'll have a Pokémon Scarlet and Violet guides and features hub coming soon, so stay tuned. How to surf on water in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet As with past games, surf allows you to swim through the water on the back of your Pokémon. However, the days of HMs are long gone, so you don't need to teach surf to any of your Pokémon to be able to swim. The ability to surf in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is unlocked by defeating Bombirdier, the Open Sky Titan. Bombirdier is a level 20 boss Pokémon that is encountered in West Province (Area One).      Darktide Beta ProgressPrior to the Warhammer 40K: Darktide pre-order beta, developer Fatshark made it known that, while it was aiming to have progress from the beta carry over to full release, it wasn't certain if this would be happening. After all, if massive changes ended up being required, resetting progress could have been necessary. But any lingering doubts regarding this have been erased. During the weekend, Fatshark cleared away any confusion with a tweet. I'm sure fans are delighted by the news. Learning that you completely lost a fully leveled character on launch day would be very upsetting indeed. Fatshark tweeted the message, saying progression "will be carried over from the beta to full release." This is far from ambiguous, so we now know for sure that no progress will be lost when Darktide finishes its beta and enters full release on Wednesday. I'm personally very pleased by this, as I most definitely didn't want to lose the hours I've already put in...
