Starfield's Todd Howard went to Elon Musk, SpaceX for Bethesda RPG

Bethesda's Todd Howard visited SpaceX and talked to Elon Musk while developing upcoming RPG game Starfield. With the Starfield release date a ways off, it's interesting to hear how the work of SpaceX influences Howard and the NASA-punk style aesthetic and universe the team at Bethesda has been building over the last few years for its next open world game.

Midnight Suns made Deadpool DLC as he

Marvel's Midnight Suns, the new strategy game from XCOM developer Firaxis that trades out soldiers and percentages for superheroes and a deck of cards, almost had Deadpool as a character in the base game, but the team decided against it as they were worried he'd end up a dominant presence in the game's story. On top of that, the character based DLCs will also actually have more content than those already in the game in a few ways - if that sounds interesting to you, our Marvel's Midnight Suns review dives into one of the best strategy games in years.

Marvel's Midnight Suns review – more RPG game, less XCOM

When I signed up to write our Marvel's Midnight Suns review, I didn't expect to play what I can confidently say is the sleeper hit of the year. Over the course of sixty hours, the superhero game has continued to surprise me with brain teasing challenges, well-developed characters, and much, much more. Suffice to say, Firaxis has crafted a truly excellent tactical RPG that's worthy of a place alongside the XCOM series and already has me hungry for more.

Fortnite Rick and Morty leak could signal battle royale game crossover

Another Fortnite Rick and Morty crossover could well be on the cards if this leak is true. The battle royale game from Epic is no stranger to the gross-out adult comedy, and we've already got a few characters running around as a result. However, it's unusual for there to be a new loading screen for no reason, and it could also tie into the Fortnite Chapter 3 Fracture event, or maybe Fortnite chapter 4 season 1.

Diablo 4 release date speculation, trailers, gameplay, and news

Want a roundup of the latest Diablo 4 release date speculation and news? Announced during BlizzCon 2019, the upcoming entry in the demon-slaying action RPG game series has had many different teasers and trailers. These have showcased the various Diablo 4 classes we can use to take on the hordes of monsters that block the way between the horned lord of the underworld and us.

The roster of playable classes includes transforming druids, spell-flinging wizards, and somersaulting rogues. Each class has unique combat skills to weave through every shambling zombie, skittering demon, and colossal terror that awaits you in these dank, hallowed halls. So far, so familiar, but that's hardly going to upset the series' devoted fans. However, despite a relatively open development process, players have been left to speculate when the Diablo 4 release date might be.

The best YuGiOh Master Duel starter deck

If you're wondering what the best YuGiOh Master Duel starter deck is, then luckily for you we have some advice. The new YuGiOh digital duelling platform has hit the ground running, with card game veterans, anime fans, and new players alike diving in to try it out in their millions.

After downloading the free-to-play game and completing the basic tutorials, you receive 1,000 gems and the option to choose one of three starter decks. Each one belongs to a different playstyle and uses a specific type of summoning.

The answer to this question, of course, depends on your level of familiarity with the card game. If you're new to YuGiOh, you may want to stick with a simple deck for a while as you learn. On the other hand if you're a more experienced duelist, you may want to know which starter deck has the best cards for future use. Fortunately, your choice here doesn't matter too much, as you can eventually unlock all three starter decks as you play through the missions. Here's everything you need to help you choose your first YuGiOh Master Duel starter deck.

Of course, Valorant weapon skins don't offer any competitive advantage, but looking cool and giving your opponents something pretty to look at as you dominate them in the FPS game offers its own advantage.      Best VR headset in 2022

The best VR headset could take your gaming PC setup to the next level, especially if you're looking to play games like Half-Life: Alyx, Beat Saber, and Resident Evil 4. Sure, today's virtual reality tech is more Lawnmower Man than Ready Player One, but concepts like the metaverse and augmented reality (AR) are all seemingly a part of what's to come.

Choosing the best VR headset seems simple on the surface, but there are industry changes in motion that could complicate venturing into virtual reality. For starters, Meta (formerly known as Facebook) has ditched its iconic Oculus branding in favour of a new Meta Quest label. While this means the Oculus Quest 3 will likely arrive with a different moniker, metaverse devices like the Meta Quest Pro are now a priority for the social media giant.

Of course, Meta isn't the only player within the VR space, as HTC, Valve, and Quest rivals like the Pico 4 are also in the running. Each headset contributes to immersive gaming in its own way, so it's important to consider the specs, price, and drawbacks of each device.

For the last ten years, the XCOM designers at Firaxis have traded in 'if's and 'maybe's. If this shot lands, then maybe I can pull off this carefully calculated plan I'm brewing. It's exactly the kind of taut, knife-edge tension we've come to love and expect from their turn-based strategy games, but Marvel's Midnight Suns takes a different approach. As the titular demon hunters join forces with some famous Avengers faces to take down the evil sorceress Lilith and Marvel mega villain Chthon, there's never any question about whether your moves will or won't work here. You're playing as the world's most powerful superheroes. Of course, they're going to work. And forget about cowering behind knee-high cover walls, too, because if you're not already bulletproof, you've certainly got the reflexes and supercharged muscle mass to soak up anything Lilith's Hydra minions are going to chuck at you.

Question is, by tipping the power scales in your favour like this, do you risk destroying that delicate balance of risk and reward? At first glance, it's easy to think a more reliable set of heroes would end up dulling what made Firaxis' XCOM games so special, but the result is something equally thrilling. Given how the Marvel machine has drawn in and chewed up so much singular creative talent in the wider MCUniverse, Firaxis emerging with their cred intact is nothing short of extraordinary. Not only have they endured their radioactive spider bite, they've come out bigger and better for it, creating not only the best Marvel game I've played, but one of the best superhero games full stop.

River City Girls 2 Release Date Won't Be Simultaneous

WayForward took to Twitter to confirm there won't be a simultaneous worldwide release date for River City Girls 2. The game is set to debut in Japan and other Asian countries on December 1, 2022. However, it won't appear in other countries that same date. No specifics regarding the delay were noted, but WayForward noted it needs "a bit more time." It still suggested a 2022 release is possible for North America and Europe.

Here's WayForward's full statement regarding the River City Girls 2 release date delay.

The Japanese/Asian version of RCG2 launches tomorrow (December 1st) from Arc System Works, but we need a bit more time in the oven for the North American/European version in order to deliver the best, most full-featured experience possible.

As of now, we're still expecting to launch the game before the end of 2022. When we have an exact date nailed down, or if anything changes, we'll let you know. We know you're all eager to battle your way back through River City in this brand-new, skull-cracking adventure, and we're just as eager for you all to play it! Thanks for your patience.

River City Girls 2 is a beat'em up starring Misako and Kyoko, the girlfriends of Kunio and Riki. This time, all four are fighting through the city to right a wrong. They'll also be joined by Marian (from Double Dragon) and Provie (River City Ransom: Underground).

The River City Girls 2 Asian release date is December 1, 2022. The worldwide release is still 2022. It will come to the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on December 1, 2022 in Japan and in 2022 worldwide.

yonezu kenshi chainsaw man kick back

Kenshi Yonezu's "Kick Back," which serves as the first opening theme song for Chainsaw Man, placed first on the Oricon Weekly Chart. It also sold 310,000 copies in its first week. This is the third song from Yonezu to reach number one on the Oricon Rankings. [Thanks, Oricon!]

According to Oricon Music, "Kick Back" is the first single to reach number one on top of selling over 300,000 copies in its first week since Reiwa began in 2019. It is not the only song to have a strong first week. However, the other song ("Uma to Shika") that accomplished this is one that Yonezu sang. In fact, the Top 5 First Week Sales list has four Yonezu songs on it. The only song on the list that isn't Yonezu's is "Night Diver," which released posthumously after Haruma Miura's death in July 2020.

You can listen to the TV version of the "Kick Back" opening theme song as it appears on Chainsaw Man here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFlDRhvM4L0

Kenshi Yonezu originated as the Vocaloid producer, Hachi-P. Several of his songs appeared in various Vocaloid games, such as "Close and Open, Demons and The Dead" and "World's End Umbrella." He also wrote popular songs such as "Matryoshka" and "Panda Hero" using GUMI. Yonezu started his career as a singer in 2012 with the release of Diorama, which earned 57,000 in sales.

Chainsaw Man is available for streaming on Crunchyroll, and the opening theme song "Kick Back" is available on services such as YouTube.

PlayStation Tournaments

Sony launched a new community feature for PS5 owners: PlayStation Tournaments. These officially sanctioned online tournaments will also award prizes to their winners. The details were revealed in a post on the PlayStation Blog. The first set of tourneys will involve Guilty Gear Strive, NBA 2K23, and FIFA 23.

Sony held what it calls "on-console" tournaments since 2016, but 2022 marks the day PlayStation Tournaments launch officially for the PS5. The official launch comes following three months of beta testing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFvKg_iaMQ8

The first PlayStation Tournaments for PS5 will be open to the "global PS5 community," and benefit from some new features. The new experience is "streamlined" from the PS4 era, with shorter tournament times, easy sign-up from the PS5 itself, and a new UI. Tournaments will also be easier to find, and have real-time updates. Sony also launched a Discord-based community hub for tournaments, accessible at this link.

Sony will celebrate the launch of PlayStation Tournaments on PS5 with what it's calling the "Win-a-Thon" promotional event, too. From December 1, 2022 to January 31, 2023, players on both PS4 and PS5 can compete for leaderboard positions in tournaments, with prizes like cash, PS5 consoles, and controllers up for grabs.

In essence, it's a meta-competition involving multiple PlayStation Tournaments. Participating players just need to make sure the "Win-a-Thon" badge on a given tournament card, then sign up and play in the tournament. Any successes will count towards the player's position on a regional leaderboard. At the end of January 2023, all players with the most points will win prizes.

PlayStation Tournaments are available now on the PS5. The Win-a-Thon event kicks off from December 1, 2022 and runs through January 31, 2023. The games involved are Guilty Gear Strive, FIFA 23, and NBA 2K23.

Miriam is an easy source of 10 Max Revives. These can come in exceptionally handy if you're about to challenge the Elite Four!

Coincidentally, you get these ten items after speaking with her four times after making progress in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Now, I only just discovered she was there after I'd already finished the Path of Legends and Starfall Street storylines. This meant I was able to finish off all four in quick succession. For the first two conversations, she'll be in her office. For the third, she'll be in the Entrance Hall on the first floor, just past the front desk near the staircase. The final conversation takes place in the Nurse's Office again and is when you'll get your reward for getting to know her.

Eminence in Shadow master of garden

Crunchyroll Games announced a game adaptation of novel and anime series The Eminence in Shadow (a.k.a. Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!) launched. Formally titled The Eminence in Shadow Master of Garden, the game is available to download on iOS and Android devices.

Check out the game's launch trailer below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUI66uvo3SI

The Eminence in Shadow Master of Garden is based on the anime and novel series created by author Daisuke Aizawa. The story begins with a young man living in modern-day Japan having an ambition to become as strong as possible. His desire for strength comes not from wanting attention, but to be a power that blends in with the crowd and operates from the shadows. Those ambitions are cut short when he's run over by a truck. Fortunately, though, he is reincarnated into a magical world as Cid Kagenou, scion of a noble family. From there he takes on a pseudonym, "Shadow," and lives out his fantasies by founding Shadow Garden, a group dedicated to fighting a sinister cult that he also thought up himself. Or so he thought. The cult he thought was a mere roleplay gambit turns out to be real, and before long, Cid must become a true shadowy mastermind and fight back against the darkness of a new world.

The game is a free-to-play mobile RPG supported by gacha elements. Players will engage in the story adapted from The Eminence in Shadow anime and novels, and encounter characters from throughout the series. Combat takes place on a side-scrolling plane, with flashy animations for special attacks, as well.
