Overwatch 2 season 2 hero unlock method should be the default

With the launch of Overwatch 2 season 2, players are busily diving into the new meta (especially if they're Doomfist mains). However, alongside the launch of the latest hero for the multiplayer game comes a new method by which players can get their hands on the other new characters including Sojourn, Junker Queen, and Kiriko. There was plenty of concern about what this might entail, but as it turns out it's so smart that I'd propose it becomes the default method.

The Sims 4 build creates Fallout style abandoned town with no CC

Usually when you think of the best Sims 4 builds, you tend to imagine beautiful, hand-crafted houses with stunning gardens and gorgeous interiors. Sims creator Mita Sims decided to take a different approach, adopting the aesthetic of run-down, abandoned apartment blocks that you might usually associate more with games like Fallout 4 and Nier Automata than with the upbeat EA life sim.

We know D3 Publisher is makes budget games. It's done so since way back in the early 2000s with all of the Simple 1500 Series titles. There's a place for them! They can even be fun. Samurai Maiden feels like it belongs in that sort of line. The problem is, it is essentially a "budget" game with a premium $59.99 price. Given how uneven and unsatisfying it is, it just isn't right. The more I played, the greater the grudge I came to bear against this bland, boring, and relatively barebones beat'em up.

Normally, I like to start reviews by talking about the game's story. You know, set the stage for why someone should care about the characters and want to go on this new adventure. Samurai Maiden baffled me by just… starting things with Tsumugi immediately being teleported to the Sengoku period. There's no introduction or exposition! We suddenly see her mid-conversation with an invisible voice, and then she's in front of Nobunaga Oda! After a bit of blathering, we find out she is a prophesied Priestess of Harmony. Three shinobi from different worlds gathered to meet her so they can fight a Demon Lord together, hugging, kissing, and taking selfies along the way. I mean, eventually you do get the proper introduction you deserve… when the second chapter begins. It's an awkward and off-putting design.

Samurai Maiden

The script is atrocious. There is no redeemable dialogue here. I wonder if the writers ever engaged in any ordinary conversations with fellow humans. Why would Tsumugi introduce herself as a member of Gen Z? Especially to a Sengoku warrior who both doesn't know what the term means? More importantly, he probably doesn't even care! Also, at one point Tsumugi actually says, "We're girls, so it's no big deal" after Iyo exclaims, "Your cheeks are touching! Your friend's hugging you from behind in this one!" It's one of many terrible lines in this disappointment of a game. I suspect Nobunaga takes his leave so swiftly because he knows this is a hot mess and wants none of it.

Review: Samurai Maiden is Infuriating

As for the fanservice, it is about what people can expect. You do eventually unlock hugging and kissing scenes, but it isn't as blatant as games like Omega Labyrinth Z. It takes quite a while to even unlock more "romantic" sorts of moments in the gallery. There's no explanation or justification for the sudden instantaneous attraction between the warriors and Tsumugi. I guess being the Priestess of Harmony is quite the aphrodisiac? I've played games that leverage same-sex relationships and sexual tension as selling points before, and Samurai Maiden's dialogue isn't realistic or enjoyable, not to mention it can feel a bit tame compared to other titles.

D3 Publisher

Fanservice aside, probably the main reason someone should be turning to Samurai Maiden is its beat'em up action. Well, don't come into it expecting Senran Kagura or Omega Force Musou-quality action. These blades are pretty dull! Tsumugi doesn't really move fluidly across the battlefield, and it very quickly delves into button-mashing. Combos are basic, though sometimes the skills she'll learn by getting closer to her warrior "friends" helps. It's incredibly repetitive action against enemies that tend to all look the same and aren't very smart. Not to mention it tends to feel very clunky. But hey, at least the lesser enemiess often just stand around waiting for you to attack!

The only real challenge comes when you face bosses or larger foes, as they'll summon minions over-and-over again to hit from behind when you're distracted with the "important" target. Why worry about actually making foes tactical geniuses when you can toss a ton at someone at once to make it impossible to dodge every mediocre attack? Especially if there are mines on the battlefield that deal damage to you if an enemy nearby steps on one. It isn't too terrible to cut through them. However, when I did kick things up to a Hard difficulty in some chapters, the enemies didn't get any brighter! They just got healthier! Which meant they could summon more allies! Whittling away at their HP was frustrating.

Samurai Maiden

It is disappointing to see how Tsumugi's ally is handled too. You'd think given the focus on relationships, the ability to have the active love interest running alongside Tsumugi, and the fact these other three women are all ninjas, they'd help out in a fight? Nope! Unless you direct them to use a special action, they just trail along like a lovesick puppy. I know you have a weapon, Iyo! There's a horde of enemies around us! Use it! But no, instead they will just hold it in a defensive position, poised to strike, without acting at all. Not to mention when you do use their special attack in a fight, you need to be positioned just so to ensure you hit your targets.

Also, if a game is going to add platformer elements, try and make the characters competent? As you go through the very linear stages, occasionally you need to jump or use your allies' skills to proceed. Tsumugi isn't good at jumping! It's stiff and awkward. The double jump doesn't go as far as you would expect, which took some getting used to. I wondered if the team knew combat wasn't very excited, so added these segments while traveling between fights to give players something more to do. These segments aren't well executed, which irritated me. Likewise, the occasional puzzles are too easy to feel worthwhile.

D3 publisher

While Samurai Maiden's characters may be cute, the gameplay is completely unsatisfying. At its best, it is a bland beat'em up sending you slashing through skeletal specters. At its worst, it is infuriating. Samurai Maiden isn't like Ed-0: Zombie Uprising, which is in early access and only costs $19.99. This would be a far different review it was. It is a disappointing game in a sorry state, and there are far better fanservice-filled beat'em ups out there.

Samurai Maiden is available for the Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC.

Yae Miko Carries an Umbrella in New Genshin Impact Live Wallpaper

There's a new free background from HoYoVerse. It updated the N0va Desktop add with a Genshin Impact live wallpaper of Yae Miko. The app and wallpaper are free to download. However, there is a limitation with this one. The tweet noted it is only for people using a Windows PC.

Whenever one of these kinds of backgrounds appear, it tends to show a more serene scene. In this live wallpaper, Yae Miko is wandering around the Inazuma area in Genshin Impact. She is carrying an umbrella and posed on some steps. If someone watches, she'll look around her and toward the "camera."

It's been a while since HoYoVerse released a Genshin Impact live wallpaper. The last one showed up at the beginning of November 2022. It featured the five-star Cryo archer Ganyu. That one was also notable in that it wasn't just available for PCs and Android tablets. It could be used on Android phones too.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. It might be a while before a gacha to acquire Yae Miko returns. Her last rerun banner just ended on December 6, 2022. N0va Desktop is available on PCs and Android devices. Once added, the Yae Miko live wallpaper will always be available there for free.

quintessential quintuplets movie who does Futaro marry who wins yotsuba

Among the sisters Ichika, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba, and Itsuki, who does Futaro marry in The Quintessential Quintuplets? It's a question people might ask even if they don't follow the series. The idea of who wins is pretty much the whole point of The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie. Well, that and who the girl in the picture was. At the same. time, it pretty successfully tells a story that is accessible to anyone who watches it. As long as someone is familiar with harem anime or manga series and is aware that there are five sisters, one classmate who tutors them, and one ends up with him in the end, it's possible to appreciate the situation and film.

The beginning of the movie plays with the notion of "which sister does Futaro marry" by not exactly revealing which Nakano "quintessential quintuplet" he ends up with and who wins. He reminisces about a flashback in which all five sisters appear before him. Then, when he goes to see the bride in her dress, all five appear in gowns ahead of him, saying that they love him one after another.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jXjZ_JVo5I

From there, it goes back to that fateful moment to answer the question about who wins in that The Quintessential Quintuplets viewers have been wondering about for years. (Well, if they didn't go ahead and read the manga.) We get to see every characters' special moments with both Futaro and their sisters. Starting with Yotsuba, we're seeing insight into what might be next for The Quintessential Quintuplets. Nino especially ends up getting moments with everyone, helping to establish relationships and mindsets.

But what's also great about the movie is that it addresses these questions, but in a way in which newcomers can generally hop in and get what's going on. It becomes obvious fairly swiftly that both Ichika and Nino understand their sisters Miku, Yotsuba, and Itsuki all love Futaro in The Quintessential Quintuplets. Their attitudes make elements of their personalities come off strongly, perhaps more so than in the anime and manga sometimes, to help set each one apart rather quickly for possible newcomers. However, it isn't "so" out of character that it is overwhelming for people who already love the series.

To be honest, I also feel like the format is great for people who have been interested in the concept of The Quintessential Quintuplets, but didn't want to spend 14 volumes wondering "will they or won't they" when thinking about who does Futaro finally marry. There is absolutely that sense of tension. Especially when we get moments where certain sisters spend time one-on-one with Futaro.

quintessential quintuplets movie who does Futaro marry who wins yotsuba

The structure in the movie also pays off for The Quintessential Quintuplets fans who have a favorite. After a certain point, there are these hypothetical situations. This means everyone gets to see these extra moments with each sister. We can appreciate character development that came up throughout the anime and culminate in the film. So even if the sister that is your pick doesn't win, you get to experience a moment in which she did get her time with Futaro. However, when it comes to the Nino, Yotsuba, and Itsuki parts, The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie puts up more of a barrier. (The Itsuki segment is the one that requires the most prior knowledge.)

The result is a movie with a big payoff. No matter which character or pairing you like, there's a part of the film a fan would enjoy. If you're new to the series, the nature and structure is still enjoyable enough and helps provide enough context to explain who is important and why answers to questions about that and the girl Futaro met so many years ago matter. And, well, if you want to know who wins, watching The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie answers that and leaves one of the "winners" at the end.

The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie came out in Japan in May 2022, and started to appear in other countries worldwide in December 2022.

Melty Blood Type Lumina DLC

A new round of updates from Type-Moon Games brings another pair of Fate/Grand Order characters to the playable roster of Melty Blood Type Lumina. The latest round of Melty Blood Type Lumina DLC brings with it The Count of Monte Cristo (Edmond Dantes), and Ushiwakamaru. Both were first introduced to the Fate and Tsukihime multiverse by way of Fate/Grand Order. The DLC pack goes live on December 15, 2022, and will be free to all players, including the pair's character stories and battle stages.

Before joining via Melty Blood Type Lumina DLC, Edmond Dantes initially joined Fate/Grand Order as the game's first Avenger-class Servant. His character design comes from artist Rui Komatsuzaki, who designed the characters from the Danganronpa series. Dantes is voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki (Eugeo from Sword Art Online Alicization, Ritsuka Fujimaru from Fate/Grand Order - Babylon).

Check out Dantes' battle preview below. In the preview he fights Roa. Though Roa doesn't recognize Dantes, Dantes has encountered a different version of Roa before - and burned him alive.

The other Melty Blood Type Lumina DLC character to be added is Ushiwakamaru, another visitor from FGO. Ushiwakamaru is the youth name of Minamoto-no-Yoshitsune, one of the most famous warriors in Japanese history. A samurai general during the 12th-century Genpei war, Minamoto-no-Yoshitsune helped topped the Taira clan, paving the way for the Minamoto to establish the shogunate system that would rule Japan in some capacity for the next seven hundred years. Ushiwakamaru played a prominent role in the story and anime adaptation of Fate/Grand Order: Absolute Demonic Front Babylonia. She's voiced by Saori Hayami (Yor in Spy x Family, Archer of Red in Fate/Apocrypha, Shinobu in Demon Slayer).

Ushiwakamaru's battle preview trailer emphasizes her speed and swordsmanship. In her legend she learned swordplay from the Tengu of Kurama temple. Her Arc Drive refers to her Noble Phantasm, "The Wandering Tales of Shana-oh, Hoemaru, the Spider-Killer".

Besides the character update, the Melty Blood Type Lumina DLC will add a free Boss Rush story written by Type-Moon co-founder Kinoko Nasu. Additional character colors, music, customization options, and language support for Spanish, French, and Brazilian Portuguese is also included.

Melty Blood Type Lumina is available on
the PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

fire emblem engage dlc expansion pass

A new trailer for Fire Emblem Engage shows off how Dimitri, Claude, Edelgard, and Tiki will work if you get the Expansion Pass. They are the first wave of DLC characters for the upcoming Fire Emblem, and will launch on the same day as the game's official release. The expansion pass will also have new accessories for you to dress your characters in, as well as new maps.

You can watch the trailer for the Fire Emblem Engage Expansion Pass here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XLMHPDpJ_A

In the trailer, all three of the Fire Emblem: Three Houses characters appear from the same Ring. Every turn, the game randomly selects one of the three to be your equipped Hero. No matter who you have, the Engage Skills are the same. One is three consecutive strikes with an ax, a lance, and then an arrow. The Lineage Engage Skill will grant an 120% EXP boost to whoever has the Ring on.

As for Tiki, she can turn into a dragon when you Engage with her. One of her Engage Skills will make it easier for a character's stats to grow when they level up. Another one appears to be an auto-revive that will kick in if your character dies. Tiki will be a very support-oriented character to use, based on this kit.

Fire Emblem Engage is in development and will come out on the Nintendo Switch on January 20, 2023. The Expansion Pass and Wave 1 DLC for Fire Emblem Engage will also come out on that date.

Wavetale Pc Review 1Wavetale appears to be the final casualty of Stadia's exclusivity deals. The game initially released on that platform a year ago and practically no one played it. Because, y'know, Stadia. But the exclusivity window has ended and now people can play it, although history has shown us that it's quite difficult to get much attention after being locked away on Stadia. Which is a shame, because Wavetale is a worthwhile experience. It's very short and fairly one-note, but the visuals, world, story, and gameplay are all lovely, making for a pleasant way to spend four hours or so. The game's cutscenes are fully voiced by a talented cast that does a wonderful job of bringing the characters of Wavetale to life. Sigrid lives on a lighthouse island with her grandmother Doris. Her home, Strandville, is overrun with this black muck known as Gloom, which was spread into Sigrid's homeland by people she knows as the Dirty Paws. But when the Gloom worsens and the D...
