Yet another Final Fantasy XIV art contest is about to begin. The FFXIV Furnishing Design Contest 2022 kicked off. Until January 19, 2023, active players can create indoor and outdoor furnishing designs and submit them for a chance of winning an in-game prize. Winners will be announced in April 2023. There will be quite a number of winning entries for this promotion. Square Enix's FFXIV Development and Operations teams will choose the Furnishing Design Contest 2022 top submissions. All of the 100 people they choose will get a Great Paraserpent umbrella to use in-game. To enter, somebody needs to draw a piece of furniture. Square Enix noted that the acceptable categories for it are bed/chair, general furnishing, interior materials like a ceiling light, flooring, or interior wall, outdoor furnishing, rug, table, tabletop, or wall-mounted item. Someone would need to submit them at the official page, along with their character's name and home world, their Lodestone character profile page, their nickname, and a title for their work. Entrants' designs will become Square Enix's property after they are submitted. Also, the company may ask for additional art if they decide to create the furniture for people to use in-game. The FFXIV Furnishing Design Contest isn't an uncommon occurrence. Ones appeared in 2017 and 2019. Among past designs were Saya's Aumarot-Sofa and Anzuul's Royal Bathtub. This comes right as Square Enix shared art from another contest. In December 2022, the company showed the FFXIV Reaper and Sage Weapon Design Contest winners and runners-up. Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. Square Enix is accepting FFXIV Furnishing Design Contest 2022 entries until January 19, 2023. Nintendo revealed some new information on Eirika and Ephraim as they will appear in Fire Emblem Engage. The two of them will be in the same Emblem Ring, much like the Three Houses kids. The two were playable units and protagonists in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, and are twin siblings. Unlike the Three Houses kids, you can control when you want Eirika and when you want Ephraim in Fire Emblem Engage. This could make them a flexible and balanced unit. Eirika's Lunar Brace Synchro Skill deals more damage the higher an enemy's Defense stat is, whereas Ephraim can heal HP depending on how much damage he deals with Solar Brace. When you Engage with them, you get to use the Rapier, which deals extra damage to Cavalry and Armored units. People will once again need to make sure they regularly visit their FFXIV estates, as housing auto demolition will return. Square Enix announced that it will be back in patch 6.3. There's no exact release date yet, so the current window for it is January 2023. Square Enix also offered some details about what the counter will look like when FFXIV housing auto demolition will look like when it does resume. There are two categories of people. One is players that have been visiting their homes since demolition was suspended in December 2021. The other involves people who haven't been back since December 5, 2021. Also, Square Enix will send email notifications to anyone with an auto-demolition that will happen within 10 days of the patch 6.3 maintenance and release. The Schedule Estate Demolition Timer in the Timers section will also update and show how many days you have left. Whether it is a free company or private estate, as long as you visited at least once between the suspension start date and now, people will get more time. The inactivity timer will begin the day patch 6.3 launches. As long as you visit once every 30 days, you can maintain the home. However, if someone didn't visit their home between December 5, 2021 and the patch 6.3 maintenance, then they could soon lose their spot. Things will pick up where they left off. So if you had five days before your housing would be automatically demolished before things were suspended, when it resumes you will still have five days left. Ufotable released a new trailer for the Demon Slayer World Tour, which will air anime episodes in theaters around the world on February 3, 2023. It will also include a world premiere of the first episode of the Swordsmith Village arc. While the YouTube version of the trailer (which supports 4K resolution) is only available for people in Japan, you can watch it via Twitter as well. During the world tour, you will be able to watch episodes 10 and 11 of the Entertainment District Arc. You will also get to see the premiere of episode 1 of Swordsmith Village Arc, which will be season 3 of the wildly popular Demon Slayer anime series. The Demon Slayer world tour will appear in movie theaters in 80 countries around the world. All four movies from the theatrical release of Persona 3 will be available in a Blu-Ray box. It will come out on February 22, 2023. It will come in an exclusive box featuring the Persona 3 protagonist (Makoto Yuki in the film series), and there will also be a special booklet. These movies all follow the main story campaign (as of Persona 3 FES, this is The Journey), with the voice actors from the game reprising their role in the movies. Outside of the exclusive goodies, the Blu-Ray box set will also come with the soundtrack, which will have 4 CDs in it. Spring of Birth originally debuted in 2013 and a new one came out every year until Winter of Rebirth in 2016. Persona 3 originally came out for the PS2 in 2006. The PSP version of the game, P3P, will be ported in 2023. Since the movies are essentially re-telling the main plot of the game, it will have spoilers for anyone who has not played Persona 3 before. It follows the story of an unnamed protagonist (Makoto Yuki in the films) who awakens to a mysterious Persona power. He joins SEES, which is full of other Persona users, to investigate strange occurrences in the seaside city of Iwatodai. The next installment of Insomniac's take on your friendly neighborhood wall-crawler has a release window. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be out in Fall 2023. As teased in earlier trailers, the game will involve both Spider-Men: Peter Parker and Miles Morales. The PlayStation Blog entry that let the Spider-Man 2 release window slip also highlighted upcoming PS5 titles like Forspoken, the DualSense Edge premium wireless controller, the PSVR 2 virtual reality suite, and Final Fantasy XVI. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was first revealed during the 2021 PlayStation Showcase livestream event. The sequel follows on from Marvel's Spider-Man, which debuted an original take on the famed superhero, unconnected to existing comics or the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Its storyline followed Peter Parker as he struggled to balance his duties as New York City's resident vigilante with his life as a research assistant to Otto Octavius. It also dealt with the power vacuum left by Spider-Man's defeat of Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin, at the beginning of the game, and the rise of new villains like Mr. Negative, Dr. Octopus, and the Sinister Six. Peter would then meet Miles Morales, a young high schooler also possessed of Spider-Powers, training him and equipping him to be a second Spider-Man. An Atelier Sophie 2 Nendoroid will come out next year and, while she's dealing with a "mysterious dream" in that game, the figure still comes with a small book. It will show up in June 2023 in Japan. After that, it will appear in North America in August 2023. It will cost ¥8,900/$61.99. As is common for Nendoroids, Sophie comes with multiple accessories and face plates. You can portray her with a smiling face, a winking one, and an excited one with stars in her eyes. She can wield her Starguide Staff from the game. She also comes with an open book. Here's a gallery of official Good Smile Company images of the Atelier Sophie 2 Nendoroid. This is one of two Atelier Sophie figures Good Smile Company has in the works. The other is a 1/7th scale figure. That one is based on her appearance in The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book. In it, she's holding a book and about to write in it with a quill. The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack got more Genesis games. On December 15, 2022, Nintendo revealed four games would be available in every region. If someone subscribes to the higher tier, they can play Alien Storm, Columns, Golden Axe 2, and Virtua Fighter 2 on the Switch. It is also possible to engage in multiplayer with others offline or, if they also subscribe, online. All four of these Nintendo Switch Online Genesis games feature multiplayer elements. Columns has a Doubles mode, for example. Alien Storm and Golden Axe 2 are cooperative adventures. People can face off in Virtua Fighter 2's versus mode.
It's been quite a while since new Genesis games joined the collection. Back in July 2022, four more joined. That batch included Comix Zone, Mega Man: The Wily Wars, Target Earth, and Zero Wing. Past additions added Treasure titles like Alien Soldier and Light Crusader. Alien Storm, Columns, Golden Axe 2, and Virtua Fighter 2 are now available in the Sega Genesis app for Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack subscribers. The Expansion Pack costs $49.99 for a year for a single membership and $79.99 for a family membership.
