Square Enix is continuing its tradition of releasing Final Fantasy VII Remake calendar images, and the January 2023 one stars Sephiroth. The design takes place after his fall and is something of a spoiler, if people aren't familiar with the story's progression. People see him from behind, and he's wielding Masamune. Prior to the appearance of the January 2023 Final Fantasy VII Remake calendar, the December 2022 one featured Zack, Cloud, and Sephiroth from Crisis Core FFVII Reunion. It featured a more peaceful, optimistic look with the three all together. More Compilation of Final Fantasy VII games are expected throughout 2023. For example, FFVII Rebirth has a Winter 2023 release window. Producer Yoshinori Kitase said to expect more announcements this year. We should also see FFVII Ever Crisis. While it slipped out of a 2022 release, the closed beta should show up in Summer 2023. Final Fantasy VII Remake is available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion can be found on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. FFVII Rebirth will come to the PS5 in Winter 2023. Two new Inugami Korone and Nekomata Okayu figures are on the way, and this time they are part of the Look Up figure collection. Megahouse announced both of the Hololive Vtubers would join the line. There's no release window for them yet. However, when the company made the announcement, it did share pictures of the unpainted prototypes of both characters. Here's a first look at the Inugami Korone and Nekomata Okayu Look Up figure prototypes.
The Look Up line is fairly standardized. Most figures in it tend to cost between ¥3,278 (~$25) and ¥4,620 (~$35). They are always just over four inches tall. While all of them feature a character in a sitting pose, there is a neck joint that allows you to adjust the way their head is facing. In general, they are always posed looking "up" at a person. It isn't unusual for there to be a figure announcement for both Inugami Korone and Nekomata Okayu at the same time. This is because both Vtubers are a part of the Hololive Gamers group that also includes Shirakami Fubuki and Ookami Mio. For example, the Pop Up Parade figures for both were announced and released around the same time. That also happened with their Nendoroids. There is no release date yet for the Hololive Inugami Korone and Nekomata Okayu Look Up figure models yet. In Famitsu's new year feature, Spike Chunsoft teased the announcement of a brand-new game. It will be a major release, and it plans on releasing information on it in the near future. Since it is an "unannounced major title," it will likely be a new game unassociated with any of its existing franchises. [Thanks, Famitsu!] The full message on Famitsu contains Spike Chunsoft's gratitude to its player base, as well as reminders about upcoming games. First, it thanks players for supporting AI: The Somnium Files - nirvanA Initiative and Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness, as well as other titles that came out in 2022. It also asks fans to look forward to Master Detective Archives: Rain Code, which will be the biggest release for 2023. Aside from the new game that Spike Chunsoft plans on announcing soon, it seems to have a busy year ahead of it. At the end of its message, it makes a joke about how it plans on "speeding through 2023 like a rabbit." This is a pun on how it is the Year of the Rabbit now, and it is also a Japanese idiom. Spike Chunsoft plans on releasing new information for a major unannounced title some time soon. This game will not come out in 2023. HoYoVerse released some gameplay details on the new event that will appear in Genshin Impact, Across the Wilderness. It will start on January 3, 2023, and end on January 13, 2023. Rewards include the usual suspects – Primogems, Experience Books, Enhancement Ore, and Mora. To access Across the Wilderness when it goes live in Genshin Impact, you will first need to reach Adventure Rank 20. You will also need to finish Prologue: Act III of the Archon Quests, which means that the majority of players should be able to easily meet the prerequisites. To play, you will need to equip the Wilderness Compass. In Across the Wilderness, you parkour through the environment to collect Wilderness Balloons within a time limit. You can also play it in co-op. Across the Wilderness is the final new event of Genshin Impact Version 3.3. HoYoVerse previously announced the return of Ley Line Overflow, which will likely come back in the last few days of 3.3. As of the time of writing, you can also take part in Windtrace, which has returned yet again. After that, Genshin Impact Version 3.4 will go live. HoYoVerse will release more information on what to expect in 3.4 in the near future. Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. The Across the Wilderness event will debut in Genshin Impact on January 3, 2023 and will last until January 13, 2023.
