Fire Emblem: Engage is less than 10 days from its release date, but Nintendo is continuing its various character introductions. The latest character introduced for Fire Emblem Engage is Goldmary (or Goldmari). It is ruled by King Hyacinth and the first Princess Ivy, who appeared in an earlier trailer mounting an attack on Brodia. Goldmary is a retainer to Elusia's second Princess, Hortensia. She's described as "shy" and somewhat timid in manner, but in speech can be quite assertive, showing no lack of self-confidence. People were told they had six months to purchase a special Ironside VShojo PC, but it seems initial stock is now sold out. Ironside took to Twitter to announce that new orders were temporarily paused until a restocking could be arranged. In its message, Ironside thanked fans for their enthusiasm, and said that "there is a reason" the cases and PCs are marked as "out of stock." The "initial pre-order" completely sold through, despite people having until July 2023 to buy one. Those who successfully bought an Ironside VShojo PC case or pre-built unit will have theirs shipped out in March 2023. Ironside promised that that it is working with its suppliers to ensure a restock. Once additional stock is confirmed, more waves of orders can be taken. The estimated ship date will likely be adjusted compared to the first wave. Ironside encouraged people to keep an eye on the official Twitter account for more announcements about the status of the VShojo PC line. Sony announced a neck speaker and wireless earbuds based on Genshin Impact. However, it has not yet said anything about when to expect it, or how much they will be when they launch in Japan. [Thanks, Game Watch!] The exact models for the Sony and Genshin Impact collaboration are the SRS-WS1 wireless neck speaker and the LinkBuds S wireless earbuds. While the neck speaker only has the Genshin Impact logo on it, the earbuds have the elemental symbols on the back. They also come in a special box that has both the Genshin Impact logo and Paimon on it. If you wish, you can register via e-mail to receive more news on the products. However, in order to sign up for updates, you need a My Sony ID. Even if you do not register, the physical Sony stores will have a Genshin Impact-related event on January 13, 2023. The stores that will be a part of this are the ones in Ginza, Sapporo, Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka Tenjin. This is not the first collaboration HoYoVerse has had with an electronics company. In October 2022, OnePlus released an official Hu Tao-themed smartphone. Earlier than that, in November 2021, Razer opened up pre-orders for items like Paimon-themed gaming chairs and mouse mats. It has been 38 days since The First Slam Dunk debuted in theaters in Japan, and I the movie made over 7.6 billion yen at the box office. That would be around $57.8 million. This is the sixth week in a row that The First Slam Dunk topped the rankings for how many people watched it on the weekends. [Thanks, Famitsu!] In Japan, around 5.27 million people have gone to see it since its debut on December 3, 2022. As of January 4, 2023, the movie has started appearing in Korean theaters as well. The Korean release has had over 420,000 viewers so far within five days. That's over 4.291 billion won, which would be around $3.47 million. It has received a 9.3/10 rating on Naver, which is a popular South Korean website, and many fans praised it on social media. The First Slam Dunk movie adapts Shohoku's match against Sannoh High, as well as the Pierce one-shot. Square Enix will announce a brand new Dragon Quest mobile game on January 18, 2023. The video will air on 7pm JST. That would be 2am PT/5am ET. The Dragon Quest mobile game announcement stream will include the title, an explanation of the game, and live gameplay. If the team is going to show someone playing the game rather than prepared footage, then it is likely that the game is far along in the development process. In that case, then it is possible for the game to come out later in 2023. There have been several mobile titles for Dragon Quest that never made it overseas. For example, Square Enix previously announced Dragon Quest Walk, Dragon Quest Keshi Keshi, and Dragon Quest Rivals. So it is difficult to say if this new Dragon Quest game will remain region-locked to Japan. The latest game to come out from the Dragon Quest series is Dragon Quest Treasures, which was on the Nintendo Switch. It ties into Dragon Quest XI, focusing on party member Erik and his little sister Mia when they were children. The producer and director for Romancing SaGa Minstrel Song Remastered shared their thoughts on how they modernized the game on the Square Enix website. Hiroyuki Miura is the producer, and Naofumi Ueno is the director. The two revealed fan-demand is why this entry returned. Romancing SaGa Minstrel Song Remastered is just one of many projects that the SaGa team worked on in order to bring the SaGa games onto modern consoles. The team chose to work on Minstrel Song after SaGa Frontier Remastered due to high player demand. While the game is mostly a port, there are some quality-of-life improvements such as mini-maps and New Game +. This is all part of modernizing an old game for a new audience. As for new content (which includes new playable characters and scenarios), the team included them for players who beat the original game. This way, players who may have beat the original Minstrel Song several times since its 2005 debut can experience something new. Because Ueno played Minstrel Song as a regular player in the past, he had confidence that the game is great on its own. Due to that faith, there were not many changes, thus preserving the "charm of the original." For reference, Romancing SaGa initially came out in 1992 in Japan. The PS2 remake, Minstrel Song, then came out in both Japan and North America in 2005. Miura states that there will be more SaGa games in the future. A raffle for Fist of the North Star whisky will open up on January 16, 2023 in Japan. You will have be able to put in your name for it until January 20, 2023. You can get either a bottle with Toki on it, or a bottle with Jagi on it. The Toki bottle will cost 25,300 JPY ($192.30) whereas the Jagi bottle will cost 26,400 JPY. ($200.65). [Thanks, Game Watch!] This is the second batch of Fist of the North Star whisky from Whisky Mew. The first batch came out in 2020 and featured Kenshiro and Raoh. Aside from the labels, the two whiskies are different brands. Toki is a Bunnahabhain 2010 (with an ABV of 51.8%), and Jagi is a Highland Single Malt 2000 (with an ABV of 52.3%). There is only a limited supply of each whiskey. Whisky Mew has 144 bottles of the Bunnahabhain 2010, and there are 126 bottles of the Highland Single Malt 2000. However, because this is a raffle system, it is not first-come-first-serve. When you put your name into the raffle, you can only purchase one bottle of each type. The Fist of the North Star whisky will be available for pre-order on January 16-20, 2023. You can put your name and information into the raffle via the Whisky Mew website.
