     Dead Space Leviathan boss guide

Desperate to learn how to beat the Dead Space Leviathan boss in the remake? Don't worry, we'll help you launch the sci-fi sphincter into the abyss. The remake's undead mass of toxic tentacles is arguably just as difficult to trump as the original, but Motive's new zero-gravity feature makes all the difference this time around.

Dead Space Remake boss fights are few and far between, but fans of the 2008 release will remember the Leviathan. Motive's take on the gargantuan Necromorph looks gnarlier than ever in one of the best PC games of 2023, but it still pulls some irritating moves to send Isaac to his grave. All the best horror games usually feature a difficult encounter or two, but if you prepare beforehand - including the best weapon upgrades and suit upgrades - it makes the eerie exchange all the more enjoyable.

Dead Space security clearance levels and how to open locked doors

Dead Space security clearance levels are one of the major changes that Motive has made in the horror remake. While the original iteration of Isaac Clarke's time aboard the Ishimura was a linear progression from beginning to end, returning players may be surprised to find that Isaac can now backtrack to previous areas via the tram system.

The Dead Space security clearance levels allow you to enter previously inaccessible parts of the ship once you've sufficiently upgraded your Rig's authorisation. These security doors are entirely optional, but they contain valuable loot that can help you save up for expensive items located in the Store, such as the best Dead Space suit upgrades or even Dead Space Power Nodes that you can then put towards unlocking the best Dead Space weapon upgrades. If you want to see everything one of the best PC games of 2023 has to offer, the Dead Space security clearance levels are essential.

Dead Space Remake new game plus explained

As a veteran of the USG Ishimura, the prospect of a Dead Space Remake new game plus must be a tantalising one - not only did the remake change up the iconic ship, its enemies, and your objectives, but with new game plus, you get to explore it all over again with an even bigger target on your back.

A lot of story games add new game plus modes to give experienced, hardcore players a chance to prove just how really good they are, and the Dead Space remake is no exception. If our Dead Space Remake review is anything to go by, it could be making our end-of-year best PC games list, so why wouldn't you want to play through it more than once?

Dead Space cast and voice actor list

Want to know who the voice actors are in the Dead Space cast? Based on the 2008 original, the sci-fi series that taught us not to aim for the head will again terrify us with a gritty reboot nearly 15 years later. With its gross-out body horror and grizzly monster designs, it's bound to, at the very least, give us some rather vivid nightmares.

No voice actors from the original Dead Space are coming back to voice their characters, though some talented actors that were recast for the sequels are returning to their roles. It may be a remake, but if our Dead Space remake review is anything to go off of, it has a shot at being one of the best PC games this year, and a good voice cast that sells the action goes a long way to help with the immersion.

Dead Space Master Override doors, locations, and rewards

If you've been exploring the Ishimura for any length of time, you'll know that the Dead Space Master Override is required to access certain locked doors or containers that you can't ordinarily access with regular security clearance levels. It takes a bit of backtracking to reap the benefits of it, but if you're wondering if it's worth the effort, the answer is a resounding yes.

The Dead Space Master Override is the highest Dead Space security clearance level on the Ishimura; as a result, these locked areas contain schematics for some of the best Dead Space weapon upgrades, along with the Dead Space power nodes to actually use them. You can also find valuable items to exchange in the store for credits, which you can put towards purchasing Dead Space suit upgrades. Here's how to get the Dead Space Master Override, find all of the door locations, and obtain all the rewards in one of the best PC games this year.

After all of the Dead Space Marker Fragment locations? Playing through the story again also gives you a chance to unlock the secret ending to Dead Space, but you'll need to collect a few things first.

When you begin a new game plus playthrough of Dead Space Remake, there will be 12 new collectibles added to the Ishimura for you to hunt down. These are Marker Fragments - something that didn't exist in the original game, nor in a regular playthrough of the remake. They're in place during a new game plus run to expand on the lore, and enable you to unlock the secret ending, should you manage to find them all.      Here's every reason why you need PC Game Pass

It's no exaggeration to say that Game Pass is revolutionising the way that people play games, and expanding the horizons of gamers around the world. A few years ago, trying a new game would have meant coughing up a chunk of hard-earned cash – but Microsoft's Game Pass lets you dip your toe in without having to buy the whole bath.

The selection of games included in Game Pass for PC encompasses enormously popular FPS games like Halo: Infinite, open-world favourites like Fallout 4, cutting-edge racing games like Forza Horizon 5, iconic strategy games like Age of Empires 4 – all for under $10 a month. The selection is so diverse, no matter what your preferred type of game, you're sure to find something that you can sink hours into.

Today, huge portions of the population watch television through streaming services, and it's not hard to imagine a similar future for the video game industry. Games are getting more and more expensive all the time (and we, the downtrodden masses, can't always keep up financially). However, Game Pass provides a convenient and affordable way to access a vast library of popular games.

Want to know what the best Elden Ring talismans are? Talismans are Elden Ring's version of rings from previous Souls games. Each talisman bestows a passive buff, with effects ranging from general boons like faster stamina regen to increased damage for the final attack in a twinblade combo.

You can find an array of the best Elden Ring talismans in the RPG game's vast open world; some in treasure chests in Elden Ring dungeons, some drop as loot from enemies and bosses, and others can be bought from merchants.      Turn-based RPGs – the best tactical RPGs on PC 2023

So you want to know about the best turn-based RPGs? While this list may have a lot in common with our guide to the best RPG games, tactical RPGs tend to focus more on squad-based combat and have roots in the classic tabletop RPGs of old. Games in this niche are often turn-based strategy games, though to make the distinction relevant we're focusing on games with more pronounced RPG features.

Turn-based RPGs are less about the story itself, and more about how your character(s) evolve over time as they interact with the narrative. The nature of progression and the choices you can make means that your abilities and journey may never quite be the same across multiple playthroughs, and unlike traditional RPGs there are more tools focused on tracking these changes and evolution over time. They're also about offering really robust combat mechanics and making best use of your squad as a team working towards a common goal.

Whether you're saving the entire planet or guiding a band of misfits around in a struggle for survival, there are plenty of great options available, so let's take a look at some of the best turn-based RPGs on PC.

If you're looking for details on the Redfall release date, we've got you covered. The co-op vampire shooter comes from developers Arkane, best known for building rich, very deliberate worlds, and weaving intricate stories around their fascinating creations. This time, instead of a space station, or the clockwork city of Dunwall, they've focused on a small tourist town in the eastern US.

There are vampires, sure. A sniper with an undead eye? Check. They even have a cryptozoologist, because why not. The cast of Redfall characters is varied enough, but how will this co-op game fare when compared to Arkane's other creations? Many have likened Redfall to co-op shooters like Left 4 Dead, although it's allegedly going to be more like Far Cry than the aforementioned zombie shooter. Still, some lingering performance woes on the Deck mean I'm probably going to continue Isaac Clarke's first and worst job on desktop alone.

To be fair, the remake is playable on Valve's handheld. It's not outright broken, despite having been so on launch day, with problems ranging from drastic FPS dips to outright hard crashes. Following some impressively fast work from Valve themselves, focusing on hotfixes for SteamOS' Proton compatibility software, Dead Space's Deck performance has become more or less manageable. A new trailer offers insight into what's going on. It begins by introducing Ryoma Sakamoto, then showing how he becomes Shinsengumi member Hajime Saito.

Things begin by showing how Ryoma returned to Tosa. He's there to begin working with Toyo Yoshida to remove class distinctions and promote equality. However, during a meeting to discuss this, he's assassinated. People assume Ryoma is to blame, as he's found with the body.

Ryoma manages to escape and heads to Kyoto. There, he aims to join the Shinsengumi. He notes that he memorized the fighting style of the assassin and hopes to uncover the culprit by joining the group as Hajime. From there, we see him also interact with many other individuals who may help or hurt his cause. As someone can guess, they all resemble characters from the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series.

Previously, Sega and Ryu ga Gotoku went over some new features in the game. Ryoma can use Trooper Cards in the game. Two of those cards will feature Kenny Omega and Rahul Kohli.

Like a Dragon: Ishin will come to the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on February 21, 2023. If someone pre-orders digitally, they can start playing on February 17, 2023.

Hunter x Hunter Arena Battle

Hunter x Hunter Arena Battle, a strategic card battle game based on the franchise, will shut down. The announcement comes three years to the day since the game first launched in Japan on January 30, 2020. Operator Q-max stated that the game will shut down in Japan on March 31, 2023. [Thanks, Denfaminico Gamer!]

Developed by DeNA and based on the popular manga by Yoshihiro Togashi, Hunter x Hunter Arena Battle takes the form of a card battle-style multiplayer game for mobile platforms. Its gameplay mechanics take inspiration from the board game Reversi, while blending in character collection and deck-building aspects. Players build decks of characters, then place the characters in ideal positions to perform attacks and do damage to their opponent. Like Reversi, placing a character down on certain tiles flips the tiles, triggering various effects. Players can acquire new characters and special ability cards by rolling the gacha. Characters from the series like Gon, Killua, and Chrollo were present, alongside their foes and allies. The game supports solo and multiplayer play, using preset puzzle-like layouts players can tackle at their leisure.

Check out a promo movie for the game from 2022.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kptbK6O-Ors

According to the official announcement, microtransactions for the in-game currency Jenny will be suspended by February 28, 2023. Purchases made prior to January 26, 2023 will be eligible for refund. As a bonus for current players, Q-max will offer a final login bonus promotion, featuring free Jenny and summoning tickets for seven of the in-game character banners. As the game inches towards its shutdown on March 31, 2023, various functions such as the external community site and in-game card library and deck code generator will become unavailable. Even the game's official website will be shut down by May 31, 2023.

Hunter x Hunter Arena Battle is available via the Japanese iOS and Android app stores. It will shut down on March 31, 2023. It does not have a global edition.

Gamera Rebirth

Netflix dropped more details on its upcoming kaiju animated series, Gamera Rebirth. The new anime, which was announced in November 2022, will put a new spin on the classic kaiju monster.

The new announcement was also accompanied by a second Gamera Rebirth teaser trailer, uploaded by Kadokawa to its YouTube channel. Check it out below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IN06AFa2jBA

Billed as a new take on the iconic turtle-like giant monster, the Gamera Rebirth trailer also confirms that the show will be a limited series that lasts six episodes. The teaser shows a few shots of Gamera's form, as well as a single glimpse of the kaiju silhouetted against the backdrop of a burning city. In the distance, another giant monster can be seen flying. The monster may be Gyaos, one of the five kaiju that Gamera will face in the series.

Netflix teased some art of Gyaos as seen in Gamera Rebirth when it promoted the teaser trailer.

[gallery columns="1" size="medium" ids="948876" link="file"]

Gamera has appeared in various films since 1965, when it was created by film studio Daiei to compete with Toho's hit Godzilla series. Portrayed as a massive fire-breathing turtle that can walk on two legs, Gamera is a destructive presence that feeds on flammable and radioactive substances. Gamera can even fly by means of jet plumes that emerge from holes in his shell. Gamera's appearances in the 1990s (the "Heisei" era in Japan), Gamera's origin was altered, portraying the kaiju as a more benevolent defender of civilization. Gyaos was among its foes. The most recent film to star Gamera is 2006's Gamera the Brave.

The Gamera Rebirth anime is in production, though it does not yet have a release window.

Sony Promises More PS5 Supply, Shares Trailer Showing FFXVI in Real World

Sony took to the PlayStation Blog to confirm more PS5 supply is heading to stores and share a new trailer showcasing games like FFXVI in the real world. However, it didn't explain what exactly it did to address the supply shortage issues. It also didn't offer any exact dates as to when people can expect more hardware and peripheral drops. It did confirm PlayStation Direct as a source to find the system worldwide.

Here's the full Live from PS5 trailer, which focuses on games coming out in 2023 like FFXVI. It begins in Manhattan with Spider-Man appearing in the real world. This is because Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will appear on the console in 2023. After that, the "report" goes to San Francisco. There, Aloy showed up to investigate the city. This is because Horizon Call of the Mountain will be a PSVR 2 game.

After that, it is wise to turn closed captions on. This is because the following segments are in different languages with English translations. The one in Sweden features Kratos and Atreus, referencing God of War Ragnarok. The FFXVI segment comes up at the 30 second mark. That's when the Eikons Ifrit and Phoenix fight in Japan. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart shows up after that. After that, there's a quick montage showing other games.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXwhpK4y-5Q&t=2s&ab_channel=PlayStation

The PS5 is available worldwide, and the supply shortage is expected to ease in 2023, and FFXVI will come to the console on June 22, 2023. Like FFVII Remake, it will be a PS5 exclusive for a limited time.

Netflix One Piece Live-Action Poster Confirms 2023 Release Date Window

There's still some time before Luffy and the crew set sail in a new version of the adventure. However, there is a brief update on the upcoming adaptation. Netflix shared a new One Piece live-action poster with release date window. There is still no exact release date yet. However, the reveal does confirm it will leave port in 2023. The official series page is also live on Netflix.

In the new Netflix poster confirming the One Piece live action release date window, we only get to see this version of Monkey D. Luffy from the back. As a reminder, Inaki Godoy is playing the character in the show. He previously appeared in La Querida del Centauro and The Imperfects. We only get to see him from the back. However, he is wearing Luffy's iconic straw hat.

As for the teaser page on Netflix, it shows more of the crew from the back. From left to right, Sanji, Nami, Luffy, Usopp, and Zoro appear. It doesn't offer any additional description or episode count.

The show has been in the works for a while now. For example, back in February 2022 filming began. Once it did, Netflix began teasing its progress by showing photos of the crew on set.

While there's no One Piece live-action release date yet, the show will appear on Netflix in 2023. The anime is available on Crunchyroll and manga is localized by Viz Media.

Cat Mario Super Mario Bros. Movie Trailer

A new teaser trailer for the Super Mario Bros. movie confirms a new side to the iconic video game character. During the film, Mario will don the cat suit first revealed in Super Mario 3D World, becoming Cat Mario.

Check out the latest Super Mario Bros. movie trailer below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Aq7ilIgN2I

The brief clip from the film, titled "Smash", reveals more of the fight between Mario and Donkey Kong seen during the film's second trailer. During the fight, and after a pummeling by Donkey Kong, Mario makes his way up to some floating blocks, accessing a Question Block. He gains the power and agility of the Cat Suit, becoming Cat Mario. This amuses Donkey Kong, who is voiced in English by Seth Rogen. The new Super Mario Bros. movie trailer is also one of the first public instances of hearing Rogen's voice as Donkey Kong since the movie's reveal.

Cat Mario was first introduced in 2013's Super Mario 3D World on the Nintendo Wii U. They're accessed in-game by obtaining a Super Bell power-up. When dressed in the suit, Cat Mario can climb up walls, cling to vertical surfaces, and claw enemies in a dive attack. He also runs lower to the ground and sprints much more easily. Other playable characters in Super Mario 3D World can don the Cat Suit, with similar results. Their suits are of a different coloration, though.

The Super Mario Bros. movie premieres in North America on April 7, 2023 and in Japan on April 28, 2023. Super Mario 3D World is available on the Wii U, and on the Nintendo Switch (as Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury).

Gundam Evolution Hyperion

In the game's upcoming third season, Bandai Namco will add a new playable Gundam unit to Gundam Evolution. Hyperion Gundam will join the roster as part of the content rollout for Gundam Evolution Season 3, titled "Defencer." Season 3 will also include balance adjustments and kick off the "Hyper Update" period. This is a three-month sprint which will see the addition of more new playable units, events, and promotions.

Check out a preview of Hyperion Gundam in Gundam Evolution Season 3.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hhhlt_sFgUc

The trailer shows off the unit demonstrating its formidable defensive abilities. Hyperion Gundam uses a rapid-fire beam submachine gun to output damage at close range. Its "Forfanterie" shoulder beam cannons can fire a powerful beam that pierces enemies.

Hyperion Gundam in Gundam Evolution brings its unique "Armure Lumiere" lightwave barriers to the team dynamic, as well. The back-mounted shield generator deploys a one-way barrier that blocks enemy fire from all directions briefly, and moves with the unit. Its G-Maneuver ultimate attack causes the Hyperion to charge forward, pinning enemies on its lightwave shield, which has been reshaped into a pair of battering rams.

Outside of Gundam Evolution, the Hyperion Gundam was first seen in the Gundam SEED spinoff manga Mobile Suit Gundam SEED X Astray. The CAT1-X1/3 Hyperion Gundam was developed by the Eurasian Federation, part of Gundam SEED's Earth Alliance faction. The Eurasian Federation created it as part of an attempt to challenge the Atlantic Federation's monopoly on mobile suit development. Based on the lightwave barrier technology seen defending the Earth Alliance asteroid base Artemis, the Hyperion was piloted by Canard Pars. He was an escaped Coordinator refugee with a dark connection to SEED protagonist Kira Yamato.

The Hyperion Gundam joins Gundam Evolution when Season 3 Defencer debuts on February 1, 2023. The game is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Season 2, "Mobius", launched the game on consoles and added the Nu Gundam from Char's Counterattack to the roster.

Marni Is an Example of a Great Fire Emblem Engage Villain

A lot of things go into a satisfying antagonist. Knowing their motivations for becoming a terrible person responsible for horrible actions is one. Good character designs is another. Ensuring it feels satisfying when you beat them is also important. With Marni in Fire Emblem Engage, Nintendo and Intelligent Systems presented us with an enemy who ticks those boxes. It takes a while for everything to develop, as well it should, but when it does it works out perfectly.

Editor's Note: There will be Fire Emblem Engage spoilers regarding Marni and the other villains below.

To start, Marni's whole design in Fire Emblem Engage is quite eye-catching. This is true for every member of the Four Hounds. These characters stand out. As the youngest character, she's got her blonde hair in ringlets and a frilly gothic Lolita outfit. She doesn't look exceptionally menacing. Really, before she opens her mouth and starts assaulting the party, she looks more like a porcelain doll. It's that dichotomy that makes her intriguing at a glance. You know she's out to destroy everything Alear and their friends hold dear. However, at a glance, she's classically "cute." You could easily see her being someone who also wouldn't be entirely out of place as an ally, perhaps having tea with Celine or Ivy.

Marni Is an Example of a Great Fire Emblem Engage Villain

Once Marni does start talking though, we start to see another element that makes her a satisfying foe. That is, she is a brat. She's an annoying child who seems to feel she is due things. She pesters Zephia for praise. She becomes a thorn in our sides. Especially since if you go to face her with anyone who isn't attacking with tomes, since her defense always tends to be quite high. Not only is her entitlement infuriating, but so is her tendency to absorb attacks! This means when you do finally take her down in maps, it's so satisfying. You earned it!

We also really earn her origin story. Throughout Fire Emblem Engage, Zephia often asserts that her and her fellow villains like Marni are a "family." Ahead of Chapter 21, we finally see the Four Hounds split up. It's then that we learn more about Veyle's backstory, which prompts reveals of Marni's own. We learn that she came from a large family and was both abandoned and unloved. Her mother only cared for her brothers, and not her. The Hounds took her in and were the first group that did ever show any level of acceptance or affection.

This backstory also clears up her constant seeking of attention and approval from Zephia. Suddenly, her previous bratty behavior doesn't feel like a contrived effort to make her "annoying." It's a tragic example of a broken young woman seeking approval from any possible source. Though granted, we see that there isn't some overnight change to suddenly angelic behavior. After hearing what Veyle went through, she did of course try to bring some attention back to herself. However, given everything she went through, it's hard to blame her.

Marni Is an Example of a Great Fire Emblem Engage Villain

But what I feel makes Marni really work well as a villain in Fire Emblem Engage has to do with her final acts. Upon knowing what Veyle went through in the past and what Zephia and Sombron intended to do to her in the future with the new helmet, Marni takes action. Even though it means taking a tremendous risk, she attempts to break it. It gets her killed, but she willingly accepts this chance to be selfless at the end. She seizes the opportunity to help someone who, while not a member of the Four Hounds, is also essentially a part of that "family." And, when its over, she is still expressing that last bit of selflessness by asking Mauvier to pass on to Veyle the sort of praise she always wanted. She asks him to tell Veyle "she's done so well."

With Marni, we get a Fire Emblem Engage villain cast in shades of grey. She's done terrible things. She's sometimes been a self-centered person. She's definitely a challenge to face and fight sometimes. But as the game goes on, we get to better understand who she is as an individual and understand what led her down this path. Likewise, we see an arc appear for her with a satisfying ending that makes a difference.

Fire Emblem Engage is available for the Nintendo Switch.

Spongebob Squarepants The Cosmic Shake Review 1Following the success of the Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated, Purple Lamp, was subsequently tasked with making another SpongeBob game while sticking close to what made the remake work. That's always a substantial risk, as the last game saw the studio simply recreating the game without designing much in the way of new stuff. SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, on the other hand, is a brand new game that uses much of what was implemented previously while building upon it. The result is an entertaining 3D platformer with colorful diverse worlds that doesn't do much to wow, but is still more than fun enough to justify its existence. Funnily enough, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake has a similar plot to the recently released Sonic Prime. SpongeBob buys a container of bubble soap at Glove World from a mermaid who's clearly evil. She tells him this soap can be used to grant wishes, so he uses it to make said wishes for the other citizens of Bikini B...
