Kotaku Thursday, February 2, 2023 11:45 AM Sony just announced a ton of new features currently under development. Features such as support for 1440p output have been teased for some time while others, such as the ability to join a Discord voice chat natively, feel like they should have been announced sooner than several years into the console's life cycle. |

PCGamesN Thursday, February 2, 2023 11:52 AM This wild Genshin Impact Diona build probably has better stats than your best main DPS. For some reason, one player has decided to turn Diona into a fearsome Cryo DPS instead of building her up in the typical support role she often fills. The build has some of the best artifact rolls you'll ever see in the open-world anime game, and I could only dream of having such luck for any of my own characters. PCGamesN Thursday, February 2, 2023 11:36 AM The Dead Space schematic locations are easily missed, especially during your first playthrough when you're unfamiliar with the dark corners of the Ishimura. Early on in your time on board the enormous mining vessel, you'll be forced to scavenge for supplies located in the environment. However, once found, Dead Space schematics can be brought back to the store, making essential items available to purchase at any time from the store. It's worth mentioning that this list of Dead Space schematic locations doesn't include the ones for Dead Space weapon upgrades and suit upgrades, as we have separate guides for those. Instead, these schematics relate to more general supplies (such as ammunition and health packs) that can make all the difference when going up against the Dead Space leviathan and other fearsome necromorphs in one of the best PC games of 2023. PCGamesN Thursday, February 2, 2023 10:23 AM No top loadout is complete without the best Warzone 2 sniper rifle. The best snipers are crucial if you're going to dominate across the long, open expanses offered by the new map. It's no secret that Al Mazrah is the biggest and most ambitious map to come to the free game so far, so preparing appropriate custom loadouts will be a game-changer, and hopefully keep you out of the gulag. The best Warzone 2 sniper is the MCPR-300. All snipers, by definition, have excellent range and deal high damage, so the best stats to improve when building your rifle are handling, mobility, and fire rate. Unlike Warzone 1, one-shot kills aren't always possible in the free PC game, and even a close-range headshot won't drop an enemy if they have three plates of armour equipped, so being faster makes all the difference. You can expect changes in this list when Warzone 2 season 2 launches on February 15. Here's everything you need to know about the best Warzone 2 sniper. PCGamesN Thursday, February 2, 2023 9:50 AM Want to know what the best Elden Ring spells are? Magic in Elden Ring comes in two main categories: sorceries and incantations. Sorceries require investment into the intelligence attribute, while incantations use faith. Sometimes you may find a spell that requires points in arcane. This is usually a secondary requirement that doesn't affect the spell's damage. Several useful spells are available early on in one of the best PC games. However, you can only learn more specialised Elden Ring sorceries and incantations by gathering scrolls and prayerbooks. By handing these items over to compatible vendors, you can discover the best Elden Ring spells, including devastating projectiles and powerful short-term buffs for the best Elden Ring weapons. With all the magic you're flinging around, you need all of the upgrades you can get your hands on. Therefore, we highly recommend that you check out our guides on where to find Elden Ring talismans, Elden Ring crystal tears, and Elden Ring Ashes of War to give yourself as much mana as possible and upgrade your spellcaster into a magical marvel. PCGamesN Thursday, February 2, 2023 9:42 AM Looking for Roblox music codes? There are thousands of popular songs available to listen to in Roblox, simply by entering music ID codes into your boombox or the radio. Using song IDs, you can play your favourite TikTok songs in games with your friends. So how do you play music in Roblox? The method varies depending on which game you want to blast your tunes in. Some games allow you free access to the boombox - simply equip and press it to bring up a text box in which you can enter a song ID code. Catalog Heaven is a great place to test the Roblox music codes you find, as it allows you to equip any boombox in the shop and try it out. In most games, however, you'll need to use the radio to play music. This is usually part of a paid Game Pass - the price of a Game Pass is set by each game developer individually. Once you have access to the radio, you can use it in the same way as the boombox - simply enter the song ID code and press play. Occasionally, tracks are taken down by Roblox, so if a code stops working, you'll have to look for a replacement. Here are the best radio music codes in Roblox that work in February 2023. PCGamesN Thursday, February 2, 2023 7:33 AM Is Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy? The Quidditch World Cup game released back in 2003 remains a fan favourite, so if the sport fits within the timeline of Hogwarts Legacy, its inclusion seems like a no-brainer. We know that Hogwarts Legacy is based in the 1800s - long before Harry Potter, and going some way to separate itself from the works of JK Rowling. Many well-known features remain though, such as Hogwarts Legacy Floo Flames and the Hogwarts Legacy common rooms, so where does this leave Quidditch? From Harry Potter lore, we know that the earlier incarnations of the game were recorded as far back as the 11th century, with other broomstick games dated even further back than that. So, while it would technically fit into the story of the upcoming RPG game, Warner Bros has confirmed that Quidditch will not be playable when the Hogwarts Legacy release date and early access arrives. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, February 2, 2023 12:00 PM Can I tell you a secret? I'm terrible at Battle Brothers. I'm still terrible at Battle Brothers, even after playing it on and off for a few years. It's a bit like Blood Bowl, oddly, in that it's all about mitigating risks. And like Blood Bowl, despite having a decent head for tactics and planning on the fly, I am hopeless at sticking to them when I see a new idea, thus: terrible. At it. But since an update last March looks likely to be its last big one, it's about time to get over myself and gave it a proper look as a complete package. It's long overdue, in fact. Although I still struggle to fully enjoy it, Battle Brothers is an unusually good tactical game, and the one to beat for the burgeoning subgenre of mercenary management sims. That's partly because it sticks so resolutely to its guns. Where Bannerlord faltered by throwing extraneous stuff unrelated to the core combat that should have defined it, and other open world games typically take a varied but shallow "do and be everything" approach, Battle Brothers resists dilution of that core concept. |

Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, February 2, 2023 10:30 AM Little fluffy stuffed friends exert a strange and unknowable power over me. These days we only occasionally get offered free stuff as part of our jobs, because we are not YouTubers or Twitch streamers. When I first started websites would get sent a lot of stuff - you know, statuettes and toys and doodads. I don't like these things, and I always wished PRs sent me cake instead. Neither thing would make me like the game more, but at least I can eat cake, and the same cannot be said for a figurine of some kind of big-titted space samurai holding a sword. I have, however, discovered that plushies of game characters I like are an exception to this. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, February 2, 2023 10:00 AM With the world continuing to disintegrate around us in real-time, it can be tempting to cast our eyes skyward in the hope of finding a better future. If KeokeN's Deliver Us games are anything to go by, though, life in outer space isn't all that peachy either. In Deliver Us The Moon, you may remember the scientists in charge of the moon's Earth-saving energy beam tech ended up having a bit of a Rapture moment, sabotaging all their good work (and the future of Earth in the process) and buggering off to goodness knows where to start life afresh in their newly birthed utopia. In its sequel, Deliver Us Mars, you find out those rogue astronauts didn't actually go that far at all. Yep, they hopped on over to the red planet and set up shop there, and when a strange transmission comes through revealing their location, it serves as the catalyst to send yet another crew into space to go and investigate. This time, though, you're right at the heart of its central conflict. By casting players as Kathy, the daughter of one of those rogue astronauts, Deliver Us Mars tells a much more fraught and personal tale of what kind of future humanity should be pursuing: should we, in fact, be turning our efforts toward a life in outer space, or should we be doing everything in our power to try and save the dire, pretty much almost dead husk of a planet we call home? |

Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, February 2, 2023 9:00 AM Delete After Reading is a delightful looking text-based puzzler that will be familiar to anyone who's played Simogo's excellent (albeit sadly iOS-only game) Device 6, only with fewer spooks this time. Like Simogo's surreal thriller, most of Delete After Reading plays out like you're reading a novel, where scrolling through paragraphs of text will reveal images, clues and puzzles you can interact with. As the devs put it, Delete After Reading is a "game you can read, and a book you can play," and looks and sounds really quite rad. Even better, it's releasing on March 14th. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, February 2, 2023 7:14 AM Okay, we all agree that the ocean is kind screwed up right? Like, we've all seen that YouTube video showing how deep the sea is and unanimously agree that it's, like, terrifying? As much as I love relaxing subaquatic city builders and exploring underwater alien worlds, I want games about stuff in the sea that makes my skin crawl to think about. Enter Full Fathom. So, Full Fathom isn't out yet, or even has an official release date, but I just love the idea and look of this game. Being developed by Daemon House, this is an oceanic survival horror where you're trapped in a derelict submarine that has sunken to the depths of an abyssal sea. You need to navigate your surroundings and keep the sub up and running to make your way back to civilisation, aka a rusty tin can is your last lifeline. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, February 2, 2023 6:56 AM Last night was a restless one for the Steam Deck. In addition to a huge client update for the handheld PC, Valve pushed out a Proton Experimental update to fix a crashing problem with games that use the Ubisoft Connect launcher on Steam. Ubi's launcher had received an update of its own, sadly one that interfered with the ability of Proton – the layer of software that helps made-for-Windows games run on the Linux-based SteamOS – to keep it compatible with the Deck. Indeed, just like the 2K Launcher last year, with the added irony that the affected games (which include The Division 2, Watch Dogs Legion and Ghost Recon Breakpoint) only arrived on Steam in the past few weeks. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, February 2, 2023 6:31 AM Fans have been clamouring for a sequel to Titanfall 2 since its release in 2016, but it looks like we might need to put those hopes on hold for a little longer. According to a report from Bloomberg, EA have cancelled an unannounced project codenamed Titanfall Legends, a single-player mash-up between Titanfall and Apex Legends - Respawn's battle royale, set in the same universe. Around 50 devs were working on the game before its cancellation earlier this week. EA are reportedly trying to find other positions for the devs, but those that aren't rehired are being laid off with severance. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, February 2, 2023 5:18 AM Sometimes I want to describe games in the most high-brow way possible. I might smugly write something like "it elevates the genre" while sipping wine and eating cheese, musing on how a game pushes the media forward as an art form. Other times I just want to write that a game is really bloody good, actually, and I like it lots. Hi-Fi Rush falls into the latter category. Developer Tango Gameworks shadow-dropped the rhythm-action game out of nowhere shortly after an Xbox presentation, jettisoning The Evil Within's murky mental hospitals and Ghostwire: Tokyo's supernatural shinanigans for something markedly different: bright pulsating neon colours and a gang of loveable anime ruffians, where every whack and dodge is underscored by a beat. Hi-Fi Rush is an action-adventure game with a mechanical core fuelled by musical beats. Protagonist Chai has undergone a risky medical procedure and emerged from the other side with a robot arm and an iPod accidentally implanted in his chest meaning his every waking moment is punctuated by a catchy beat. We too see these rhythmic motions, as Hi-Fi Rush's soda pop-infused world moves to this steady pulse - platforms move in time with the music, lights flash in pleasing rhythmic patterns, and enemies attack to the beat of the drum. |

Siliconera Thursday, February 2, 2023 11:00 AM FFXIV Global Community Producer Toshio "Foxclon" Murouchi will be the host of a new "show" involving housing, namely in-game looks at players' houses. Mister Foxclon's Neighborhood is on the way. Square Enix announced the first episode will appear on March 2, 2023 at 3am PT/6am ET/12pm CET/8pm JST. (That air date could change, however.) When it airs, it will appear on both Twitch and YouTube. Square Enix asked FFXIV players to turn to Twitter to "apply" to share a potential featured house on Mister Foxclon's Neighborhood. Until February 10, 2023, They will need to include the #FFXIVHousing hashtag first, then share the theme of their estate, their estate's name, the owner or free company's name, its location, two screenshots, and a short comment. Here is the example tweet it shared on the Lodestone. While this tweet does mention a theme and Square Enix asks someone explains the look they are going for, the first episode of the broadcast won't only select houses with a specific theme.
If someone doesn't have an apartment or house yet in FFXIV, it still could happen due to housing changes in-game. In 2022, a housing lottery system was added and refined. Square Enix is also consistently adding new housing options. Additional wards came up in the 6.3 update. Final Fantasy XIV is available on the PS4, PS5, and PC. Mister Foxclon's Neighborhood will air at 3am PT/6am ET/12pm CET/8pm JST on March 2, 2023. Siliconera Thursday, February 2, 2023 10:30 AM An upcoming PS5 firmware update will add Discord support and other quality of life changes, and the beta for it is already in the wild. Sony announced the beta kicked off in six places. People it notified in Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States should be getting email invitations to take part on February 2, 2023. They'll get a first peek at additions that may or may not appear over 2023. One of the big changes is the requested Discord support for the PS5. It will allow people to enable a Discord voice chat after linking their accounts. General linking is already available, so anyone could show their Discord friends what they are playing on the system. However, it is also important to note that the PlayStation Blog's description makes it sound like you'll still need to use Discord on a PC or mobile device for PS5 voice chatting. Sony broke down other additions by how they'll change certain elements. In the social section of the announcement, it went over other ways to connect. People will be able to send screenshots and videos to the PS App, instead of relying on the automatic function. The Friends Who Play hub tiles will have more information. You'll also see Join Game in Party Chat and Share Screen option in profiles. In the gameplay sections, there will be things like VRR 1440p support, new game filtering options, and Online Multiplayer Session "Who Can Join" and "Who Can Invite" presets. New PS4 to PS5 save data and PS5 to PS5 data transfer options will appear. The Screen Reader will be more comprehensive, indicting directions, if someone uses that. There will also be a DualSense update that allows you to update the controller without plugging it in. Finally, one PS5 firmware beta feature feature is only for people in the UK and US. You can use certain voice commands to record gameplay. Some of the example commands shared by Sony were "Hey, PlayStation, capture that," "Hey PlayStation, start recording," and "Hey PlayStation, capture the last five minutes." The new PS5 firmware beta invites are now being emailed out to select users in Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Siliconera Thursday, February 2, 2023 10:30 AM A Monster Hunter Rise "no saved data exists" issue is plaguing PS4 and PS5 owners. Capcom announced it is aware of the issue. As such, it is currently working on a PS4 and PS5 patch for Monster Hunter Rise. That is expected to launch on February 3, 2023. In the announcement, Capcom explained what is going on. It all has to do with data irregularity. When one comes up, it will cause the PS4 or PS5 Monster Hunter Rise "no saved data exists" error. The patch will fix that issue. Here's Capcom's full, official explanation.
While this update will arrive tomorrow, some of the larger Monster Hunter Rise additions won't appear for a while. Capcom, for example, established that the Sunbreak expansion won't come to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X versions until Spring 2023. Monster Hunter Rise is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak is out on the Switch and PC. The patch to fix the Monster Hunter Rise "no saved data exists" issue should arrive on the PS4 and PS5 on February 3, 2023. Siliconera Thursday, February 2, 2023 10:00 AM The Fire Emblem Heroes CYL 7 voting event results are in, with the four winning characters revealed. Each year, the vote asks players to cast ballots for units they'd like to see get special alts. The top two men and women are then released on a new banner later that same year. For 2023, the winners are Fire Emblem Awakening's Robin (male), Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn's Soren, Heroes' Gullveig, and Fates' Corrin (female). Here is the full chart showing the top 20 Fire Emblem Heroes characters on each side. Robin came in first among the men, with Soren in second. Gullveig placed first in the women's division, with Corrin following. Rounding out the top five on the men's side are Three Houses' Felix and Byleth, then Genealogy of the Holy War's Sigurd. For women, Three Houses' Bernadetta, Awakening's Robin, and Fates' Azura all found a place.
On the women's side, Gullveig's inclusion is notable. She is the antagonist of Book 7 of the campaign. That only just launched in December 2022. Fire Emblem Heroes is available for Android and Apple iOS devices, and the CYL 7 characters will be added in a banner at a later date. Siliconera Thursday, February 2, 2023 9:30 AM Nintendo is once again selling Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers. The program last appeared four years ago, in mid-2019. They're a way for subscribers to Nintendo Switch Online to save money on digital copies of select games. If you're unfamiliar with how they work, the Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers are basically digital tickets that can be purchased from this page on the Switch eShop. The vouchers come in pairs and, once purchased, can be redeemed at any time within 12 months of the purchase. So if you buy a set today, you'll have until the same day in 2024 to redeem them. Each set of two costs $99.98 USD, and a single account can have up to eight stored up. The only requirement is that a buyer be subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online. Each Nintendo Switch Game Voucher can be redeemed for a game on a specific list of eligible titles. The list mostly consists of first-party Nintendo titles, select third-party titles, and exclusives spanning the whole history of the Switch. A number of new additions, including Fire Emblem: Engage, Splatoon 3, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and Live A Live are also eligible. The list will grow as new releases are added, so fans can "save" a voucher and use it when a new game strikes their fancy. Many titles also go for at least $49.99 USD, and most go for $59.99 USD, so players end up saving a bit on the list price. Here's the full list of titles eligible for redemption via Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers, arranged alphabetically and based on the North American eShop listing.

Siliconera Thursday, February 2, 2023 9:00 AM Neon Genesis Evangelion will get a stage play adaptation, but it won't be following in the footsteps of the TV series or the rebooted films. Formally titled Evangelion Beyond, the Evangelion stage play will reportedly tell a new, original story, with new threats, characters, and a new plot.[Thanks, Cinema Today, and Mantan Web!] The Evangelion stage play will debut in Shinjuku, Japan, at the Theater Milano-Za. The plot premise has few similarities to the original work. In fact, outside of the presence of the Evangelion units themselves and their teenage pilots, it appears to be a different story entirely. The story takes place on an Earth devastated by strife and verging on collapse. The Eva units are piloted by teenagers operating under the command of the special organization MENSCH. The pilots board their Evangelion units to fight "Ikimono" (literally "living things" in Japanese), unknown creatures that emerge from beneath the Earth's surface. [gallery columns="1" link="file" size="medium" ids="949390"] The cast of the Evangelion stage play will also play original characters. The first four members introduced from the top of the above image are:
Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, a Belgian performer and stage director, will direct and choreograph the play, based on a script by Seiji Nozoe. Evangelion Beyond debuts on May 6, 2023 in Japan in Shinjuku. On May 28, 2023, It will then move to Nagano and run for two days from June 3-4, 2023. It'll close out its run from June 10 through June 19, 2023 in Osaka. A promotional attraction called Evangelion Kabukicho Impact will run from April 28, 2023. The post Neon Genesis Evangelion Stage Play Will Tell a New Story appeared first on Siliconera. |
Siliconera Thursday, February 2, 2023 8:30 AM The next Pretty Cure anime series will break a barrier for the series' 20th anniversary. Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure will debut the franchise's first-ever male Cure character. Ever since Futari wa Pretty Cure debuted in 2004, all members of each series' team of "Cure" magical girls have been female. That changes when the series debuts on February 5, 2023. [Thanks, Oricon News!] The first male Cure is Cure Wing, who will be voiced by Ayumu Murase. He played Shouyou Hinata in Haikyuu!, Aki Hayakawa in Chainsaw Man, and Ryou Asuka in Devil Man Crybaby. Strictly speaking, there has been one male Cure before Cure Wing. In 2018's HUG! Pretty Cure (or HUGtto! Pretty Cure), the character Henri Wakamiya transformed into Cure Infini to resolve a crisis. However, the transformation was limited and temporary. Cure Wing is a permanent part of Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure's cast, making him the first male Cure to be a member of the core team. [gallery columns="1" size="medium" ids="949375" link="file"] Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure is the 20th installment in the Pretty Cure franchise, and also celebrates the show's 20th year running. The title can be translated roughly to "Expanding Sky! Pretty Cure". It's also a pun, as "hirogaru" can be read as the English "Hero Girl,", a reference to the lead character, Sora Harewataru. Sora is an athletic teen from Sky Land, a floating kingdom. Ever since she was saved by a mysterious person, Sora has trained night and day to "become a hero". She gets her chance when she becomes Cure Sky, a superpowered Pretty Cure destined to fight back against the sinister Underg Empire. Cure Sky is voiced by Akira Sekine, who played Charlotte in Princess Principal, Raku Ichijou in Nisekoi, and Ritsuka Fujimaru (Gudako) in Fate/Grand Carnival. Check out a promo for the first episode, featuring a look at Cure Sky. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0DUgBhsg_A Alongside Cure Sky and Cure Wing two other Cures to round out the main team of Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure. Cure Prism is Sora's friend Mashiro Nijigaoka, a resident of Sorashido City on Earth. Cure Prism is voiced by Ai Kakuma, who plays Eris in Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, Sento Isuzu in Amagi Brilliant Park, and Rossweisse in High School DxD. [gallery columns="1" size="medium" ids="949377" link="file"] Cure Butterfly is also another first for Pretty Cure: Its first adult. At 18 years old, Cure Butterfly will be the oldest core member of a Precure team. The previous oldest Cure was Cure Moonlight, a 17-year-old high schooler from 2010's Heartcatch Pretty Cure! Cure Butterfly is voiced by Ayaka Nanase, who voiced Yoshino from Sakura Quest, Mio from Encouragement of Climb, and Noe Archiviste from The Case Study of Vanitas. [gallery columns="1" size="medium" ids="949376" link="file"] Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure premieres in Japan on February 5, 2023. International release plans have not been announced. Siliconera Thursday, February 2, 2023 8:00 AM There may be a winner in the race to be first in the world to (officially) clear Final Fantasy XIV's The Omega Protocol (Ultimate) raid. Raiding group Neverland claimed a clear around 2:23 AM EST on February 1, 2023 (about 4:23pm JST), according to a tweet from group member Zeppe Monado. If recognized, this would make Neverland's the official FFXIV Omega Protocol World First Clear. For its part, community site FFLogs appears to have verified the clear as well, with the log stating that it took Neverland more than 1,000 attempts to beat the mammoth six-phase encounter. https://twitter.com/ZeppeMonado/status/1620684220413935616 The race to surmount the challenge has been mired in controversy. After Team UNNAMED claimed the FFXIV Omega Protocol world first clear on January 31, 2023, evidence emerged that members had used third-party tools and hacks during the fight. Square Enix stripped the members of UNNAMED of the titles and achievements from the clear, and ordered them to discard the weapon rewards. Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida also issued a statement further condemning the use of such tools. Neverland is itself not a stranger to controversy in the various races for FFXIV World Firsts. Neverland was the first team to clear the previous Ultimate raid, The Dragonsong's Reprise, back in May 2022. However, streams from the completion showed Neverland using third-party tools, such as one to automate callouts. At the time the Final Fantasy XIV team congratulated Neverland and recognized its achievement, but Yoshida spoke out publicly against the use of third-party tools afterward. Via a post on the Lodestone community site, Yoshida stated that the use of all third-party tools is banned, and that the team would prioritize investigation of uses of tools to make content easier to complete, modify the UI, or allow "packet-spoofing" techniques. As of press time, Square Enix has not yet officially acknowledged Neverland's as the FFXIV Omega Protocol world first clear. Final Fantasy XIV is available on the PS4, PS5, and PC. Siliconera Thursday, February 2, 2023 7:30 AM MegaHouse is releasing a new One Piece figure of Zoro Roronoa as a child as part of its G.E.M. Series of figures. The figure costs 7,480 yen (roughly $58) and is expected to release by the end of September 2023. This is the second figure in the series, the previous one being a similar figure of Luffy as a child. Pre-orders open on February 2, 2023. https://twitter.com/mega_girlshobby/status/1620603053668962304 The name of the figure is "Zoro Roronoa Run! Run! Run!" It features a child version of him carrying two big Japanese swords as he runs and looks behind him. The figure includes a stand designed after Shimotsuki Village, Zoro's hometown, located in East Blue. That is where the dojo in which Zoro trained can be found. The figure includes a movable neck ball joint. When both figures are put back to back, Luffy and Zoro look back at each other as they run in opposite directions, as a nod to Zoro's awful sense of direction. You can check out the figure in more detail here: [gallery ids="949319,949320,949321,949322,949323,949324" link="file"] Last year, MegaHouse announced two other One Piece figures, one of Ace D. Portgas and another one of Yamato. The "Zoro Roronoa Run! Run! Run!" One Piece figure will be available for pre-order on February 2, 2023, and it will appear by the end of September 2023. Siliconera Thursday, February 2, 2023 7:00 AM Kadokawa Game Linkage released an art book of Bayonetta 3. The book has 384 pages and consists of character art, CG, background settings, image boards, and more. It also contains comments from the development staff in regards to the process behind designing Bayonetta 3. [Thanks, Dengeki Online!] Other than information on how PlatinumGames designed the character and setting, the Bayonetta 3 art book consists of data from the early stages of development. For example, you can check out the first draft of the conceptual art, as well as details for stages that did not make it into the final game. There are lyrics (both Japanese and English) for songs from Bayonetta 3 as well. For each character, you can look at how their outfit looks from various angles. There is also their profile, as well as beta designs. It is very likely that it will be similar to the Cheshire video Platinum Games released, in which the the development team discusses how it went about bringing the character to life. The Bayonetta 3 art book costs 3,850 JPY. That is approximately $29.60. Because you can purchase the book via Amazon, international customers can buy it as well. There is also an eBook version if you do not need a physical copy. However, only Ebten offers the DX pack set. If you buy the art book as part of the pack, you also get an A2 tapestry, Viola stickers, and eight acrylic stands. You can purchase the Bayonetta 3 art book via Amazon, and Bayonetta 3 is readily available for the Nintendo Switch. The post Bayonetta 3 Art Book is Available Now appeared first on Siliconera. |
Siliconera Thursday, February 2, 2023 6:00 AM Fire Emblem Engage features a huge cast of characters, which means someone like Lapis could get left out. She's one of the first folks you'll meet when leaving Firene. She fights alongside Alcryst, one of Brodia's princes, as his retainer. She's also a practical, precise young woman who is fantastic with a sword. However, she might need a bit of investment to really get going. What I love about Lapis in Fire Emblem Engage is that it feels like she can't be hit. She's the sort of character you can put ahead of your other forces to sort of "protect" them, then enjoy as she assaults foes and their attacks miss her. This is partially due to the unique skill Share Spoils. It means she gets -10 Crit if an ally is right next to her. However, she does get +10 Avo/Hit in exchange. Given she's also a Backup type of unit, which means she'll jump in for Chain Attacks, you want her to be near her allies and take advantage of both benefits. I'd also encourage pairing her up with Marth sometime. While she won't get any weapon proficiency, since she's already "good at swords," you can get her to inherit Perceptive to increase Avo by +15 if she initiates combat for 250 SP. You could also spent 500 SP, 1,500 SP, 3,500 SP, or 4,500 SP on Avoid +10, +15, +20, +25, or +30.
There are really only two downsides with Lapis in Fire Emblem Engage. The first is that when you look at her stats, you'd almost think, "Maybe this is someone who should go for critical hits." Except her dexterity stat growth doesn't really support that as much as, say, Kagetsu or Zelkov. So rather, you're hoping she turns into someone who doesn't get hit. Her high dexterity and speed both support that. Her other fatal flaw is that Fire Emblem Engage has a large cast with a lot of other people good at using swords. Since she's a Sword Fighter, odds are you'll go with a Sword Master for her Advanced class. Which is a fantastic one for her! However, that's also where Kagetsu tends to go and, well, he can be better at it. This means you may need to give her an Emblem Ring so she can build up proficiency with more weapons to unlock other options. Perhaps setting her up as a General, Griffin Knight, or Paladin could help make her more unique and better define her in your army? Or, you know, maybe even consider something with a bow since you probably should pair Lyn with Lapis sometime. Alacrity++ is an amazing skill. Given Lapis' speed is her selling point, she should always get to perform her follow-up attack before the enemy counters her. Also, if you don't mind losing even more points dedicated to her critical attacks, you can keep teaming her up with Marth and pick up the Sword Agility skills. (Those sacrifice points in your critical stat in exchange for a higher rate of avoidance.) That would also mean you get to have Lapis around more often. This is to your benefit, because she's an adorable, earnest woman. She's resourceful and likes to talk to her allies about filling up on smells, facing off against bears, crafting, and general survivalist things. She's just a lot of fun! She's earnestly concerned about her allies. Also, in a game with no paired endings or romance, it's nice to see that she canonically has a crush on Alcryst. So yes, Lapis might not be one of Fire Emblem Engage's most perfect characters, but she can certainly be valuable. Especially if you intend to invest in skills and experiment with classes. Fire Emblem Engage is available for the Nintendo Switch. The post Lapis Is a Fire Emblem Engage Character Who's Worth the Investment appeared first on Siliconera. |
