A number of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players found a bug in the new patch has irreparably corrupted their save files. Apparent causes include buying the DLC, downloading the DLC, or connecting to Pokemon GO. Starting a new game is fine, which means the game is not broken. But until Nintendo releases a patch addressing the issue, players should avoid downloading the DLC or syncing to Pokemon GO. [Thanks, Kotaku!] As of the time of writing, only about a dozen players have reported losing their save files. Not all of them connected to Pokemon GO. In the original Reddit post, one poster stated that you cannot even recover the backup save. Some who have lost their save files reached out to Nintendo. However, Nintendo's response was that it was looking into it, so there is no official fix yet. When Pokemon Scarlet and Violet launched in November 2022, it had no Pokemon GO or Pokemon Home support. Support for Pokemon GO appeared on February 27, 2023. You can send postcards to yourself or your friends, which will offer up new color patterns for Vivillon depending on where the postcard came from. You will also be able to catch a Roaming Form Gimmighoul in Pokemon GO, which you can evolve to Gholdengo after collecting 999 Gimmighoul coins. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are readily available on the Nintendo Switch. Only a minority of players reported experiencing the save-corrupting bug in Pokemon Scarlet or Violet. However, players should wait until Nintendo releases a fix if they wish to play it safe with their Pokemon and progress. Square Enix announced a new collaboration with sports equipment and apparel company Puma to release a new line of Final Fantasy XIV sneakers. These will begin appearing on March 15, 2023. Japanese sneaker website Sneakerwars shared the information. There will be two different styles, with two colors available for each. The models they are based of are the Puma Slipstream model and the RS-X model. All four will cost 17,050 JPY (roughly $125 USD) each. More information will be coming out soon. Final Fantasy XIV players will be able to walk a mile in the shoes of the Warrior of Light, literally. The new line of Puma footwear is based on the words of Light and Darkness of FFXIV, with the two available colors mirroring them. The Light colors offer white, green and blue palettes, while the Dark colors come in black, grey, and purple. The FFXIV Fat Cat minion appears on the tongue, heel, and insole of the shoes, alongside the Puma symbol. In addition, the iconic Final Fantasy crystal appears in the form of a charm, along with the FFXIV Meteor Mark. You can check out the new FFXIV Puma footwear in more detail in the gallery below. Paramount Pictures released the first trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. The video showcased an inexperienced variation of the crime-fighting turtles. Scenes show them goofing around and explaining their origins to their iconic human ally, April O'Neil. You can watch the TMNT: Mutant Mayhem teaser trailer here: Seth Rogen is in charge of this TMNT: Mutant Mayhem reboot, which will show the experiences of the turtles finally entering the world and starting to fight crime. This first look mainly shows the youthful nature of the group. The brothers record stunts and get hurt while trying to use their weapons. Also, the bad guys in New York City don't seem to recognize them yet. The art style also stands out, as it resembles a comic book interpretation with a mixture of 3D and 2D CGI elements. Lately, there have been many new appearances of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in multimedia. 2022 saw the release of two games. One was TMNT The Cowabunga Collection, a compilation of older titles. The other was the original Shredder's Revenge. Nintendo shared new information about Chrom and Robin, the "Emblem of Bonds" and the new DLC Emblem Bracelet for Fire Emblem Engage. The pair combines Chrome's swordsmanship and Robin's magic abilities and tactical prowess to play with their opponents. Their Sync Skill is "Surprise Attack," and it prevents enemies from counterattacking when initiating attacks from terrain with evasion bonuses. They replicate actual Greater Rift clears performed by other players, right down to the dungeon layout, enemies, and character builds. A celebration of Mondstadt, its culture, and its characters, you'll get to interact with much of the region's cast and locations during these different minigames. One of the minigames you'll get to participate in is the Genshin Impact Ballads of Breeze event, where you have to participate in a rhythm game and aim to get as many points as you can. To participate in the Ballads of Breeze event, you'll first have to unlock the overall Windblume Festival. To do so, finish the quest 'A Gathering of Outlanders,' which is a simple quest consisting of mostly dialogue and interactions between characters. After this, you'll have access to all three minigames in the event. They're notoriously hard to get right and have consistently appeared in lists of the worst levels ever or in rants on Reddit. But for some insane reason, the developers of Pronty decided to set the entire thing in the depths of the ocean, and somehow they've made it work. Pronty is an amalgamation of many modern Metroidvania games, not doing anything new as such but executing it all with verve. Although it was first released back in 2021, it has made the long swim upriver to the Nintendo Switch, giving me the perfect opportunity to dive in. |
