PCGamesN Wednesday, March 8, 2023 4:43 PM Destiny 2 Lightfall promised to be the groundbreaking penultimate storyline in a narrative developed over nearly a decade. But the issue is sometimes game developers make promises they can't keep. Not every expansion and campaign storyline can change the game like Forsaken or introduce us to compelling narrative twists like those in The Witch Queen. However, Lightfall feels like a significant step backwards from the complex, interwoven threads that once led an entire community to grieve for the death of Cayde-6 or, even more recently, shed a tear at Rasputin's sacrifice. Perhaps there's some confusion among the developers as to what Destiny 2 means to players compared to what it means to those in charge. The development team sought to deliver a futuristic neon city and a Darkness subclass that's ironically bright in the FPS game, while what could have truly satiated players is a clearer grasp of the stakes surrounding the Traveler, the Veil, and the future of humanity. Note that this review is relatively early in the gameplay experience, reflecting several hours of campaign content. There's a lot to explore in Destiny 2 Lightfall, and we're still working our way through it. Still, with several hours of the Legendary campaign completed, suffice it to say it's notably underwhelming. Siliconera Wednesday, March 8, 2023 7:30 PM So "A Devilishly Delicious Dish" is a side story you can pick up early in Octopath Traveler 2, but you probably won't be strong enough to finish it until later in the game. At the tavern in New Delsta, a Tavern Cook will ask you for a Delsta Devil. However, actually solving this means heading to a level 34 dungeon and defeating a boss. After you get the quest, head to Western Clockbank Highroad. You'll need to head to one of the docks and sail under the bridge to the south. Going down this river will lead you to the level 34 Sunken Maw region.
Head back to New Delsta's tavern and speak to the Tavern Cook. Once you give him the captured Delsta Devil, you'll be all set. You'll get 5,000 leaves, a Master Rod, and a Chef's Ladle. Octopath Traveler 2 is available for the Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC. A demo is available. The post How to Finish 'A Devilishly Delicious Dish' in Octopath Traveler 2 appeared first on Siliconera. |

Siliconera Wednesday, March 8, 2023 5:30 PM "The Fish Filcher" is a weird Octopath Traveler 2 side story, because the solution is so unexpected. Fish are being stolen at Conning Creek. You're supposed to help. But, it's not like any NPC in town has fish in their inventory. To complete this quest, you need to think outside of the box. To start "The Fish Filcher," talk to the Head Fisherman at Conning Creek: Harbor during the day. Then, change to night and wait. I actually stumbled upon this accidentally. I swapped the time to see if anyone was there, headed to the main part of town to do some stealing and information gathering with Osvald and Throne, then headed back to the harbor. When I did, I saw a Fish Thief standing there. Knocking out the fish thief with Throne's Ambush or Castti's Soothe will complete the quest. A scene will then play out once you've done that. You'll then get 6,000 leaves and a Fortifying Nut (M) for completing "The Fish Filcher" in Octopath Traveler 2. If you want, you can also then steal from the new NPC standing there to get an Enlightening Earring and Fool's Leaf. Octopath Traveler 2 is available for the Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC. A demo is available. The post How to Finish the 'The Fish Filcher' in Octopath Traveler 2 Side Story appeared first on Siliconera. |
Siliconera Wednesday, March 8, 2023 5:00 PM Sony confirmed that Discord integration is now available on PlayStation 5. This will see full the chat app added to the console as part of firmware update 7.0 release on March 8, 2023. This functionality has been in the works for a while, with Sony purchasing a stake in Discord back in 2021. While some account linking features have already been present for a while as a result of this partnership, full chat functionality only just arrived. The functionality is fully cross-compatible with other devices using Discord, meaning that players on PS5 can talk to friends on PC, mobile or Xbox with no extra effort. All that's required is a Discord account. Discord provided helpful information about how to link up accounts with the new service. However, the app isn't directly available on PS5. Instead, players will need to link their PSN account on Discord on PC or mobile and transfer their call from that device to their console. Players who already linked their accounts for previous features will need to relink their accounts for this purpose. As well as Discord integration, the PlayStation 5 system software 7.0 update also adds and improves other social features of the console, improvements to data transfer from PS4 and support for variable refresh rate displays. Full details can be found here. The post PlayStation 5 Gets Full Discord Integration appeared first on Siliconera. |

Siliconera Wednesday, March 8, 2023 1:00 PM Now that the Fire Emblem Engage update added an Ancient Well, players have a chance of getting food weapons. These are pieces of equipment that look like various things you can eat, like desserts. They also can be consumed in battle to restore health, though you lose the item in the process. In total, eight types can be acquired from trading in used ones at the well. All of the Fire Emblem Engage food weapons have a D-level proficiency requirement. This means practically anyone can use them, so long as they are capable of equipping the weapon. Note that if refined, they turn into standard iron weapons.
Here's a closer look at each one. [gallery columns="2" size="full" ids="954394,954395,954396,954397,954398,954399,954400,954401" link="file"] Fire Emblem Engage is available for the Nintendo Switch. PC Invasion - FeedDDD Wednesday, March 8, 2023 7:57 PM Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is now officially out in the West for the first time and so you might have been wondering how the PC port is. Koei Tecmo has a bit of a history with low effort PC ports and this one isn't all that different. The last Fatal Frame game dropped on PC with zero mouse support, only for it to be patched in after customers rightly complained. This game, on the other hand, has launched with mouse support baked in. Unfortunately, it appears that this mouse support emulates a joystick or has severe deadzone issues (maybe both?), so don't expect a perfectly smooth experience. Wo Long has obviously had an extremely negative response to its mouse support and this is honestly quite similar. That being said, Wo Long allows us to use a mouse on the menus, while Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse sadly does not. The framerate runs uncapped, at least, although I'm not sure how legitimate this is. Certain animations are locked at 30 fps, ... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Wednesday, March 8, 2023 5:54 PM Fire Emblem Engage has received a bevy of DLC in its post-launch roadmap. This includes four waves of DLC, one of which is a new story. Waves 1-3 of the DLC bring various items to the game, and more importantly, new Emblems for you to use in combat. Emblems Chrom & Robin, who are from Fire Emblem Awakening on the 3DS, came as a single package in Wave 3 of the DLC. Here's our guide on the best units to use Emblem Chrom & Robin with in Fire Emblem Engage. Best units to use Emblem Chrom & Robin with in Fire Emblem Engage Mage Knights Mage Knights are units in Fire Emblem Engage who can use both swords and tomes. This is why they're pretty good to p[air with Chrom/Robin. Specializing in the weapons you receive from using these Emblems is a leg up in comparison to other units, because not many specialize in Magic and Physical Attack. Fogado/Bow users While other bow users could deserve a slot here, we think Fogado suits Emblem Chrom & Robin the best. This is due to the... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Wednesday, March 8, 2023 5:42 PM With the end of the playtest and the wide success of Dark and Darker, the team at Ironmace opened itself up to answer some of the more pressing questions. The Tarkov-like, hand-to-hand combat style of the game took the internet by storm as people hacked and slashed their way through ghouls, ghosts, and each other. One question on everyone's lips was the possibility of monetization in Dark and Darker. Read to see what the future holds for the team. Monetization in Dark and Darker came up repeatedly throughout the interview. Many questions tried to get more information about just how much there will be and its effect. Very little information was given as to what it will look like as "it has not yet been fully decided." The case for monetization in Dark and Darker is heavily debated in Discord, causing rifts between players. When asked to justify the decision, Ironmace replied: "Game sales alone can't cover the cost of running servers on an ongoing basis. We need to gene... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Wednesday, March 8, 2023 5:07 PM The latest update for the troubled PC version of Team Ninja's Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty just dropped this morning. This update, dubbed ver. 1.03, addresses an issue that numerous PC players have shared grievances about ever since the game's release. Specifically, it adjusts the mouse camera controls so that Wo Long players can use them much more reliably than they could before. Considering the sheer number of players that reported this issue just in the Steam user reviews alone, this undoubtedly comes as a much-needed change. Although this arguably constitutes the update's most significant change, it includes plenty of more fixes where that came from. It's not just mouse controls, of course. Another noteworthy change "[makes] it possible for guest players in Recruit (online multiplayer) sessions to skip cutscenes and leave the session after boss battles." On top of that, the update patches out a number of crashes and white flickers that players could... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Wednesday, March 8, 2023 4:50 PM Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania DLC released to critical acclaim, with many praising its nostalgic throwbacks, fun new weapons, and challenging bosses. The DLC is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, but, as of yet, not on mobile platforms. Will Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania DLC be available on mobile? Is Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania DLC coming to mobile? While nothing has been announced so far with regards to the Return to Castlevania DLC being added to the mobile version of the game, it's very likely that it will be added in the near future, given that the game's other four DLC packs, Rise of the Giant, The Bad Seed, Fatal Falls, and The Queen and the Sea, have all made their way to mobile. Screenshot by PC Invasion In terms of release date, we can only speculate at this point using the most recent DLC packs as a template. Fatal Falls was released for PC in January 2021 and then for mobile in September 2021, eight months later. The ... |

WGB, Home of AWESOME Reviews Wednesday, March 8, 2023 3:22 PM The 90s and early 2000s saw the rise of Impressions Games thanks to their various city-builders like Caeser and Zeus. But the most famous of them came in 1999 when they launched Pharaoh, a city builder set in Egypt where you had to build expansive cities and construct vast monuments because what every desert needs is a big triangle. The game often makes it onto lists of the best city builders and many have tried to replicate it. Now, developer Triskell and publisher Dotemu are here with a remake that aims to bring the charm and fun of Pharaoh to a new generation. Let's go and raid the t |
