Battle royales are everywhere. From first-person shooters like Warzone to (now-defunct) third-person spellcasters such as Spellbreak, the genre has overtaken the industry.      Amnesia The Bunker is a Resident Evil immersive sim, and I adore it

Frictional's Amnesia The Bunker is not the game you think it is. Yes, like previous entries it's a slow-paced survival horror game with a heavy focus on lighting, but there's so much more to this experience. I had a chance to play the new entry in the Amnesia series at GDC in San Francisco and chat with creative lead Fredrik Olsson. Part Amnesia, part Alien Isolation, part Resident Evil, and part immersive sim, if you're already excited for the upcoming Amnesia The Bunker release date then strap in, as this is one hell of a ride.

Denuvo has published a book on the dangers of emulators

A new book published by Denuvo owner Irdeto warns game developers against the dangers of emulation, saying that the use of emulators "threatens not only the revenue of new games, but also that of old and classic ones." A third-party, anti-tamper solution often used on Steam, Denuvo is increasingly widespread, and found in new games such as Hogwarts Legacy and Resident Evil 4, as well as Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Battlefield 2042, and numerous others. It is intended to prevent games being pirated, with Irdeto's new book also claiming that videogame pirates have "tarnished" the original goal of emulators on PCs.

Genshin Impact events – all current and upcoming events

Want to know more about the upcoming Genshin Impact events? A new version of Genshin Impact arrives every six weeks, complete with new characters, quests, and events. It's difficult to keep track of which events are currently running and if there are any new ones coming soon, so here's a schedule for all current and upcoming Genshin Impact events.

There are usually a number of Genshin Impact events running simultaneously, and they aren't just in-game events. When a new Genshin Impact character joins the game, the devs launch a web event at the same time - players learn about the latest characters through an interactive story told through a web browser. Similar to some of the best RPG games, the rewards for completing different events range from in-game items like primogems and mora, to real life prizes like mouse mats and plushies.

Best Warzone 2 sniper rifle for Season 2 Reloaded

No top loadout is complete without the best Warzone 2 sniper rifle. The best snipers are crucial if you're going to dominate across the long, open expanses offered by the new map. It's no secret that Al Mazrah is the biggest and most ambitious map to come to the free game so far, so preparing appropriate custom loadouts will be a game-changer, and hopefully keep you out of the gulag.

The best Warzone 2 sniper is the MCPR-300. All snipers, by definition, have excellent range and deal high damage, so the best stats to improve when building your rifle are handling, mobility, and fire rate. Unlike Warzone 1, one-shot kills aren't always possible in the free PC game, and even a close-range headshot won't drop an enemy if they have three plates of armour equipped, so being faster makes all the difference. Here's everything you need to know about the best Warzone 2 sniper.

Genshin Impact tier list March 2023: the best characters in 3.5

Looking for a Genshin Impact tier list? There are currently 66 Genshin Impact characters available, so there's no shortage of candidates for your dream team. But with so many different weapons, elementals, talents, ascension bonuses, and constellation upgrades, finding your favourites can be challenging.

Don't let the placement of the characters on our Genshin Impact tier list deter you from pulling on the next character banner. While base stats and elemental abilities are important, the value of a character also depends on personal playstyle, available weapons and artifacts, and team composition. That being said, if your favourite Genshin Impact character is in C tier or below, you may struggle to get past some of the more challenging Spiral Abyss floors. Don't worry too much if your favourite Genshin Impact character is on one of the lower tiers; you can still make it work with our recommended Genshin Impact builds. Being on a lower tier in the free PC game means that there are better alternatives, or the character needs a very specific build or team to shine.

Wildfrost is excellent at creating moments of triumph. Early on in my playthrough while I was still getting to grips with the game, I came face-to-face with a boss who got stronger when hit. Its card art had become bigger, juicier, more tauntingly malevolent, and easily could have taken out any of my team with a single hit. Thankfully, three of my team members were due to act one turn before it. The first chipped away a little of its health (its job was mostly healing) but the next doubled a stacked debuff that I had set up and turned the goliath into a giant bomb, and the effect of my two cards combined was just enough to trigger it. BOOM! My backline leader didn't even need to lift a single finger.

Playing with turn order and setting up synergies is a key part of how Wildfrost plays as a roguelike deck builder. Each individual card on the stage is part of a counter system, with both delaying and advancing them on the playing field being strategic choices. Some actions are free, like moving your cards around the stage or withdrawing them for healing, but playing cards out of your hand or shuffling your deck will pass the turn.

Man, do I love the feeling of jamming out a guitar riff in games. Sure, in reality, I'm slumped on my couch in a position that my body will give me payback for when I'm thirty, but in my fantasy, I'm a musical prodigy whose guitar licks are so epic it would make Slash cry. My joy for virtual jamming came as a direct result of playing hours and hours of Guitar Hero. A short animated sequence kicks The Last Worker into gear, reeling off the game's backstory with breezy efficiency. It's an apt start for this first-person satire set in a fully-automated dystopia, in that it underlines a very human aptitude for artistic communication. It's surprising, then, that as The Last Worker continues its story, it takes less graceful turns, electing for verbosity over economy. For a game that takes critical aim at the future of work, frankly, it's all a bit laboured.

So what does happen in that opening animation? First, we see everyman hero Kurt among thousands of recruits arriving at the gigantic distribution centre of megacorp Jüngle (like Amazon, get it?), to spend their working lives plucking products off shelves to order. Before long, though, any drop in output sees the employees themselves plucked off and given the boot, to be replaced by robots. As the numbers dwindle, top-performer Kurt remains steadfast, and even finds love among the boxes with a fellow product picker. But when she gets pregnant and quits, he stays behind, living full-time in the warehouse. Years pass. Jüngle smothers the entire retail market, and Kurt becomes, well, the last worker.

Final Fantasy XVI Clip Shows Ifrit Fighting Typhon

While the PAX East 2023 presentation involved quite a bit of footage, Square Enix still had more to show from its new Final Fantasy entry today. There's a new Final Fantasy XVI gameplay clip, and it features the Eikon Ifrit and Typhon. The fight is designed to show what it is like when Clive taps into the power of Ifrit to face off against the recurring character from the Final Fantasy series. While brief, it also offers more insight into what these match-ups will be like.

As Clive is the Dominant of Ifrit, we don't actually see him in this Final Fantasy XVI Typhon fight. Rather, we see only Ifrit approach the opponent. Both have life bars at the top of the screen, as you might expect in a fighting game. In the bottom right corner, the UI shows some of the attacks Ifrit is capable of. There's a standard attack and jump, as well as Fireball and Wildfire.

We also see that Ifrit is able to perform a Precision Dodge to avoid one of Typhon's attacks in Final Fantasy XVI. He is then able take advantage of that quick maneuvering to follow that up with a Precision Counter. That chains into a combo, which includes a Fireball Burst attack and Backdraft Finish.

Here's the full footage from the fight.

It appears Typhon could be one of the Eikons in the game, based on this footage. The known Eikons so far include Bahamut, Garuda, Ifrit, Odin, Phoenix, Ramuh, Shiva, and Titan.

Final Fantasy XVI will come to the PS5 on June 22, 2023. There will be a six-month exclusivity period.

Resident Evil 4 remake Ada mod

Twitter user JTeghius Kittius, or JTegh, released a new mod for Resident Evil 4 Remake that changes Ada's clothes for a reimagined version of her Assignment Ada outfit from the original Resident Evil 4. The mod is available from the Resident Evil modding boards and from Nexus mods.

https://twitter.com/JTegh/status/1641181708396511232

This new Assignment Ada outfit mod is also compatible with Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 2 remake, and RE: Verse. JTegh has previously worked on plenty of other Resident Evil mods, like a 2021 Resident Evil Village mod that changes Ethan Winters' model for Leon S. Kennedy, including his iconic jacket.

Resident Evil modders have been very quick on the uptake with the RE4 remake. The demo for the game released on March 9, 2023, just a few weeks before the official release of the game. Mods appeared shortly after, like one that changed Dr. Salvador into Shrek.

In other Resident Evil 4 remake news, Capcom's latest release has managed to sold over 3 million units within the first two days of its release.

The Resident Evil 4 remake is immediately available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC. The Assignment Ada outfit mod is currently available for PC players from the Resident Evil modding boards and from Nexus mods.

Live a Live releasing for PlayStation and PC

Live a Live will be coming to PS4, PS5 and PC soon, Square Enix announced. Released exclusively on Switch in 2022, this remake will now be coming to other platforms. It will release on April 27, 2023, but a demo is available now.

The demo features the opening sections of three of the game's eight scenarios, each one set in a different time period with its own unique cast. Demo players will get to experience The Wild West, Twilight of Edo Japan and The Distant Future.

The full version of Live a Live features eight stories across time, all acting as their own mini-RPG. In addition to the three time periods in the demo, there is also Prehistory, Imperial China, Present Day, The Near Future and The Middle Ages. In the final game, seven of these scenarios can be played in any order.

Square Enix also confirmed that pre-orders are now available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. All pre-orders come with a 20% discount. The PlayStation version provides players with both the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game.

Live a Live originally released for the Super Famicom in 1994. Last year's remake gave the game "HD-2D" look, similar to Octopath Traveler. It also marked the first international release for the game.

Live a Live is available now for Switch and releases for PC, PS4 and PS5 on April 27, 2023.

Tekken 8 Trailer Tekken 7 Ling XiaoyuJust yesterday, Bandai Namco posted the Jun Kazama trailer for Tekken 8, easily the most significant character showcase so far. With this in mind, it would make sense for Bandai Namco to take a break from releasing more character trailers for the time being. But as it turns out, the company has shown no signs of slowing down, as it just released a new trailer highlighting series veteran Ling Xiaoyu. Unlike most prior character trailers, this one specifically reveals a character that we had not seen in pre-release material up to this point. Previously, only the Nina Williams trailer held that distinction. For those unfamiliar, Ling Xiaoyu incorporates various forms of Chinese martial arts into her fighting style, including Baguazhang and Piguaquan. Her playstyle involves a lot of stances and other unique states that seamlessly transition into specific moves and even other stances, making her quite the tricky character for opponents to deal with. Judging by the trailer, not much appears...

The Last Of Us Part 1 Pc Version Launches Poor Performance IssuesOne of Sony's next big PC ports released on March 28, but with some jarring technical issues. The Last of Us Part 1, the remake of Naughty Dog's 2013 hit, arrived on Steam and Epic Games Store as a port from PlayStation. But sadly, the PC version of The Last of Us Part 1 launched with poor performance issues. This led the Steam reviews to be 'mostly negative' at this time. Sadly, most players have been experiencing things from bad load times to crashes. The Last of Us Part 1 on PC riddled with crashes and bugs While many of PlayStation's most recent PC ports have been a success, it seems as though this one isn't so lucky. Iron Galaxy helped Naughty Dog out with The Last of Us Part 1's PC port, as they've had a history of working on ports for games like this. With currently over 7,000 reviews on Steam, they overall land at 'mostly negative'. In response to the amount of issues players have brought up, Naughty Dog posted this tw...

The Last Worker Review 1"Who's the last one? I'm the last one!", The Last Worker's oafish, stupid protagonist constantly repeats after putting a package in a chute or blowing a robot up with an EMP blast. Kurt is apparently quite proud of being the titular character, which the game never really explains. He's the only human worker at an Amazon fulfilment center kind of place and robots are seen doing his exact job. Why is he there then? An answer isn't ever really given, which tracks considering how weak and pointless the game's story is. Those adjectives can just as easily be levied at the gameplay, sadly. The Last Worker sets up its flimsy premise right away. Kurt lives and works at a Jüngle fulfilment center, which is an obvious play on Amazon. While there were once hundreds of workers, everyone else was fired. Kurt still works there for some reason. One of the other fired workers was Rosa, Kurt's pregnant girlfriend. Kurt decided he didn't w...

Ravenbound Worth It 1After Second Extinction I've become a bit wary of Systemic Reaction games. They're fun in spots but often needlessly bloated and accompanied by some bizarre design decisions. Both of these aspects apply to Ravenbound, a new roguelite from the developer. What's especially interesting is that the game appears to be the first open-world roguelite. If that sounds like something that probably wouldn't work, be assured that it absolutely doesn't. But there are some very noteworthy things about the game, so the question stands – is Ravenbound worth it? The game begins with a tutorial that teaches you the basics of gameplay. You'll mostly be fighting things and your character has light and strong melee attacks, a dodge, and a block. The game recommends you play with a controller but it's absolutely better with mouse and keyboard. You're almost always going to be fighting groups and the lock-on makes it quite difficult to watch out for ...
