Welcome to the Week in Review
Welcome
Technology is at its best when it's not just innovating but competing or starting anew. This week we saw the introduction of the Asus Rog Ally, a Steam Deck / Nintendo Switch competitor. It’s got the looks and Windows 11 power to move the needle, but I hear the heat may be a problem. In the mess that's known as social media, we see a spark of excitement and new life in Jack Dorsey’s Bluesky, which just arrived on iOS and Android. It’s a lot like Twitter circa 2009 (and without Elon Musk, nothing like the Twitter of 2023) but when it's full of regular people will the excitement wear off? I also got excited about the new DJI Mavic 3 Pro drone and its three cameras; as News Editor and photography expert Mark Wilson described it, it's essentially a flying smartphone. There are a lot more highlights to get to from this week, so let's get started.
