NetherRealm Studios is once again rebooting the MK timeline, only this time, we have Liu Kang as the Fire God guiding the mortals of EarthRealm instead of the Thunder God Raiden, as history repeats itself once more. However, instead of being a traditional fighter, Mortal Kombat 1 introduces assist characters called Kameos, who you can call to help get out of sticky situations. So far, we've seen a mix of Mortal Kombat 1 characters, from long-established combatants who appear frequently throughout the series to several long-forgotten fighters reintroduced in the new timeline. That said, even some of the fighting game's classic characters have had tweaks to their origin story, with Scorpion seemingly alive and siding with the Lin Kuei, while Kitana now genuinely cares for her sister Mileena as her mother is the ruler of Outworld rather than Shao Kahn. One intrepid soul, Draspian, has tinkered with the code to disable said invisible boundaries, and in the process, revealed that planetary maps do, in fact, join together, though as you might be expecting, Starfield doesn't take kindly to being treated this way. |

Square Enix revealed the Final Fantasy XVI character ages in the FFXVI Ultimania book that just debuted in Japan. Aitai Kuji owner Audrey Lamsam purchased the book and revealed some of the details. While we knew about how old Clive and Jill were, the guidebook revealed other characters' ages as well. [Thanks, Audrey Lamsam!] Editor's Note: There will be spoilers for Final Fantasy XVI characters and their ages below.The characters range in age from 28 to 70 after the time skip. Lamsam didn't note if the FFXIV Ultimania age for Hugo was his pre-timeskip or post-timeskip one. Here's the full list:
For reference, Clive was 15 initially. Then, after the first time skip he is 28. He's 33 after the second one. Jill is allegedly about 12 when we first meet her. Then she's 25 after the first leap forward and 30 after the second. Final Fantasy XVI Ultimania is ¥2,970 (~$20) at Amazon Japan, ¥3,500 at Aitai Kuji (~$24), and $33.99 at Play-Asia. Final Fantasy XVI is available for the PS5, and a PC port is on the way. FFXVI Ultimania is out now in Japan.
