Square Enix has revealed the winners of the FFXIV Hairstyle Design Contest 2023. Due to the volume of "splendid" entries into the contest, Square Enix increased the number of winners to 40.
The winners of the FFXIV Hairstyle Design Contest 2023 will receive a pair of cosmetic Fat Cat Earrings for their avatars to wear in-game. Participants entered a variety of hairstyles borrowed from different cultures and utilized different hair textures and lengths to create many different looks.

While not guaranteed, Square Enix stated that if an entry has been deemed excellent, they may implement the style into the game in the future. Entries that were not selected as winners may also be implemented in the future. Designs submitted in the contest can also be adjusted by the development team if they are added to FFXIV.
The designs implemented will be a style offered to every available in-game race. Recently, FFXIV Patch 6.51 added the Bold and the Braid hairstyle into the game for players to obtain through completing the Aloalo Island dungeon and collecting Aloalo Potsherds.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. Final Fantasy XIV will be releasing on Xbox Series X in Spring 2024.

Google Japan released two new web commercials for Google Lens in collaboration with the Spy x Family anime series. The commercials focus on Anya exploring and spending time with the rest of the Forger family, as well as with her friends. [Thanks, Game Watch!]
The first commercial is called Anya's Odekeke, which translates to Anya's "Ooting" in English, a misspelling of the word outing that is characteristic of Anya's way of speaking in Spy x Family. In it, Anya goes on a walk with Loid and Yor.

The second commercial is called Anya's Shopping. It shows Anya and her best friend Becky going out together to shop and try on accessories. Both commercials are approximately 15 seconds long each and include English closed captions.

In addition to the commercials, the new collaboration includes a campaign called Operation Google Lens, in which users of the app can find places, characters, and items associated with the anime series.
The Spy x Family anime series is streaming on Crunchyroll and will come to DVD and Blu-Ray in February 2024. Viz Media handles the manga outside of Japan.

Tatsuya Endo released a new Special Mission chapter for Spy x Family, which focuses on Anya's domestic life early on in the story when she is first taken in by Loid Forger. The chapter was also accompanied by a Special Illustration by Tatsuya Endo, which features Anya in an orphanage.
Editor's Note: There will be spoilers for Spy x Family Special Mission 11 below.
In Spy x Family Special Mission 11, Anya is watching television and sees a door with a hanging nameplate on it. She asks Loid if she can have a nameplate with her own name on it. Loid agrees with a simple "Sure. Why not?" as his response. Anya then attempts to carve her own nameplate, to which she struggles and says she can't do it right. Yor, who has been watching Anya work on the carving, asks Anya if she can carve it for her because she is "good with blades."
The finished nameplate is shown with Anya's name spelled as "Ania." Some time passes, and Loid happens to see the nameplate. While Anya is busy drawing something, Loid brings up the misspelling. He spells her name out as "A-N-Y-A." Anya thinks it over and is surprised when she realizes her name is spelled wrong.
A new nameplate with the correct spelling of "Anya" is shown on her door. Anya is lying in bed, holding Director Chimera in her arms. As Anya stares at the ceiling in her bed, she says her name out loud. The next chapter of Spy x Family will be released on December 10, 2023. The manga is available through the Viz Media website and Manga Plus.
The anime adaptation is also available on Crunchyroll, which will also distribute the movie Spy x Family Code: White in 2024.

The Japanese version of Shining Nikki will begin its second collaboration event with Sanrio on November 29, 2023, and last until December 10, 2023. This time, Kuromi and Pompompurin are featured for a "Teatime with Sanrio Characters" limited gacha event.
The design concept for the Pompompurin outfit highlights the characters' whipped cream and pudding motifs. The flowing, laid-back hairstyle and the sheer top layer in the dress call back to Pompompurin's gentle personality. The fluffy winter coat is knit with milk-white yarn, with bright yellow pom-poms accentuating the piece. Many of the accessories, including the necklace, socks, and shoes of the outfit, have Pompompurin's face printed on them.
The Wonderful Kuromi set is a punk lolita ensemble. The statement piece is a midnight black lace parasol with faux fur stitched to the hem. Unlike its gentle counterpart, the hairstyle opts for a bolder style - a straight, silver hair with a half twin-tail arrangement and purple highlights. The dress has included belts to give it a more rough edge, and Kuromi's skull motif can be seen interchanged with silver embellishments.
Both outfits come with their own specialized set of makeup, as well as a set of ear headpieces mirroring each of their respective mascots. The Pompompurin headpiece includes a caramel brown beret, while the Kuromi band includes the pink skull symbol found on her head.

Sega announced that a new Hatsune Miku Christmas figure will appear as a prize at various Sega Plaza locations throughout Japan. The figure will be available from November 30, 2023.
The new Hatsune Miku Christmas prize figure is part of Sega's Luminasta line of figures. The figure stands at 14cm long and 20cm tall, and it is modeled after an illustration by artist Kei. The figure depicts Hatsune Miku striking a dynamic pose and wearing a festive idol outfit inspired by Santa Claus costumes. In the figure, Miku is also wearing a mini Santa hat.

In August 2023, Sega Plaza released a line of Hatsune Miku prize figures in collaboration with Sanrio, featuring popular character Cinnamoroll. These collaboration figures are also set to return to Sega Plaza entertainment centers on December 2023.
2023 marks the 16th anniversary of the creation of Hatsune Miku, and Seiko announced the release of a new watch to celebrate the occasion. For her previous anniversary, Good Smile Company announced a $300 figure of Miku.
