Insomniac Games quickly established itself as one of the most prolific studios within PlayStation after Sony acquired it for what seems like a bargain at $229 million four years ago. 2020's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, 2021's Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and this year's Spider-Man 2 showed that the studio could keep…

Co-op roguelike Inkbound gets an upgrade as it reveals new 1.0 roadmap

Monster Train is one of my favorite roguelike deck builders, with some really clever design backed up by a strong art style and soundtrack. An 'overwhelmingly positive' 96% Steam rating shows that feeling is held among its community as well, so it's safe to say that I'm not alone in keeping a close eye on developer Shiny Shoe's new co-op roguelike and tactical RPG, Inkbound. To round out the year, the team launches its roadmap for the run-up to the game's full Steam release, along with its latest early access update.

The AOKZOE A2 - on paper - has more power to play with than the Steam Deck OLED. However, it might struggle to get anywhere near the popular handheld when it comes to display quality and general optimization.

We reviewed the Steam Deck OLED and it's among the best PC gaming handhelds, in part due to it being a considerable upgrade on the original model and should be considered the go-to if you're looking to take your Steam library on the move. The Asus ROG Ally and Legion Go are also the targets for the AOKZOE A2 given the price and spec similarity that is present.

Zenless Zone Zero release date estimate, trailers, and latest news

When is the Zenless Zone Zero release date? HoYoverse, the developers behind anime game juggernaut Genshin Impact, has a new gacha game to add to their stable. Described as an urban fantasy action RPG, Zenless Zone Zero follows the events and citizens of New Eridu, "the last shelter for urban civilisation."

In typical HoYoverse fashion, Zenless Zone Zero boasts an extensive character roster that's in service to both its story and Zenless Zone Zero banners. ZZZ's cyberpunk city imbues the RPG with a sci-fi tone, though its fast-paced combat is more in line with Genshin Impact than Honkai Star Rail. There's already plenty to chew through ahead of the Zenless Zone Zero release date - not only do we have gameplay trailers, but our time in the Zenless Zone Zero beta can give you an early preview of what to expect at launch and beyond.

When is the Palworld release date? The monster-taming genre might have been popularized on Nintendo handhelds and retro home consoles, but it's enjoyed growing popularity on PC in recent years thanks to the likes of Temtem, Coromon, and Cassette Beasts. Palworld is the latest addition to this beloved niche, and it might be the strangest one yet.

Palworld is, in short, Pokémon with guns. Sure, you can be the very best, like no one ever was – but in this iteration of the creature collector, you can enforce that title with an assault rifle. If that sounds bizarre, wait until you see the assembly lines. If you're ready to get stuck into an RPG that embraces surrealism and satire with all the staple hallmarks of quintessential Pokémon PC games, then be sure to mark the Palworld release date on your calendar.

How do you get the Wish Keeper bow in Destiny 2? Here is a complete guide to the new Exotic mission that rewards it.      The best JRPGs on PC 2023

What are the best JRPGs? JRPGs are a very different beast from Western RPGs, and the genre has significantly evolved since the early days of both the classic NES-era Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy games.

The very best JRPGs range from vast open-world adventures to more refined turn-based combat as seen in tactical RPGs. Some JRPGs do away with traditional fantasy in favor of a more realistic setting; others focus on adding to the game's overall package to flesh out the world. Either way, the best JRPGs bring a different flavor than what you can expect from the best RPGs in the West and could be considered some of the best PC games to fans of the genre.

NBA 2K24 codes December 2023 – all locker codes

December 20, 2023: We added three new NBA2k24 locker codes.

What are the active NBA 2k24 codes? Every new game in the 2K sports series has a selection of freebies given away, and the latest in 2K's basketball games is no exception. There are plenty of NBA 2K24 locker codes to redeem for new player cards, XP boosts, and MyPlayer gear, among others. However, you'll need to quickly snag them for yourself.

This is because many of the early NBA 2k24 codes are exclusive to relatively small thresholds of players. Some freebies in this series of sports games come and go like whispers in the wind, so you need to act fast. However, we're now starting to get some freebies that are sticking around for longer, so we've gathered these NBA 2k24 locker codes to hopefully give you a little boost.

I'm definitely here for the crash fixes - I can't get The Finals to run for longer than five minutes, which is a shame, because as Graham tells it, this is the most exciting new multiplayer FPS in years. Specifically, it sounds like a blend of Battlefield and Rainbow Six: Siege with a smashable toytown aesthetic. But enough about me and my computer's refusal to let me have fun. My Steam Wrapped listed Baldur's Gate 3 and Vampire Survivors as my top two games of 2023. If Epic Games and my Switch were involved, Fortnite and Persona 5 Royal would've absolutely been included in the lineup, too. Motivation has lain mostly in co-op capers with friends, hangs with virtual pals, or in the battle royale-verse. Otherwise, nothing has truly given me the itch.

But I think 2024 could be a big one for me. Not only are a number of upcoming RPGs right up my alley, they align with new and existing motivations: hangs with pals and Japanese language learning. For the first time, I'm excited to embrace the grind both in-game and outside of it.

My Remnant 2 character is dangerously close to joining the vast pantheon of characters I've left in limbo, just after completing the tutorial - a race of outcasts we might call the Abandonians, kicking their heels at campfires and savepoints, while I drift guiltily back to older games I've already completed several times over. It's not that I dislike Gunfire's sci-fantasy co-op shooter - the multiple-dimension premise is pleasantly loopy, and I like the variety of procgen landscapes. There just aren't enough hours in the day, not when I'm replaying Into The Breach for the 14th time. Still, perhaps the introduction of a new mode built for quickfix, story-free sessions could persuade me to give 2023's 24th best game another whirl?

I was in two minds about whether to write this up, because it is a teensy bit NSFW, but I take solace in the thought that my ideas of NSFW content aren't so much "tame" as "selectively bred to the point that I can only perceive the colour beige", and besides which, I haven't played an outright body horror-themed bullet hell/danmaku shooter before.

The two genres aren't worlds apart - R-Type's bosses, for example, are very Gigery, but they're nothing like as icky as the creatures you face in Angel At Dusk, in which every projectile appears to be some species of maggot, and your ship is a sort of evolving flesh-moth faerie reminiscent of China Mieville's Perdido Street Station. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet TM 223 and Inkay Fixes Coming

Two Pokemon Scarlet and Violet bugs involving leveling up the Pokemon Inkay and crafting the TM 223 Metal Sound will be fixed soon. Nintendo and Game Freak acknowledge these bugs, and confirmed that Ver. 3.0.1 will fix the issues, and is scheduled to release after late January 2024.

The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Inkay bug appears when using Rare Candy or Experience Candy to level up the Pokemon when it is under level 30. After the level up message appears, there is a chance that button inputs won't register and players will be effectively soft locked. This issue can be avoided by not using leveling items before Inkay reaches level 30 until the patch arrives.

Meanwhile, the bug involving the TM 223 Metal Sound affects its crafting materials. At the time of writing, one of the components used to create TM 223 is only available from Shieldon, which is exclusive to Pokemon Violet. As a response to this issue, Game Freak announced that it will give away TM 223 as a Mystery Gift in both Pokemon Scarlet and Violet until the release of patch Ver. 3.0.1.

The bugs appeared on Ver. 3.0.0 of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet with the release of the The Indigo Disk DLC on December 14, 2023.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are immediately available on the Nintendo Switch, and so are the The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk DLC expansions.

Square Enix Shares Christmas Inspired FFVII Remake Song 'Midnight Rendezvous'

Square Enix often shares certain FFVII Remake tracks around appropriate themed times, and ahead of Christmas it shared the song "Midnight Rendezvous." This was a piece composer Misuto Suzuki created for the game, and it used the holiday season as an inspiration.

The image accompanying this song is taken from the moment when it happened in FFVII Remake. As part of the story, Aerith offers to guide Cloud at night back to the Sector 7 Slums. When the two reunite at night under the stars, this track begins playing. In Final Fantasy VII Remake Material Ultimania, Suzuki even noted that the goal was to make it feel like Christmas with the "sparkling sequences" and "warm pads." The composer also said the idea of "walking through town around Christmastime" was designed to be part of its ambiance. (As a note, that book going into the making of the game is available worldwide at places like Amazon, Crunchyroll, and Target.)

Here's the clip from the FFVII Remake track "Midnight Rendezvous." It's only 1:20 long. The full track is available via services like Spotify and is over three minutes long.

https://twitter.com/FFVIIR_CLOUD/status/1737398326939861035

While Square Enix is mostly sharing tidbits and insights from FFVII Rebirth online now, insights from FFVII Remake still come up sometimes. For example, earlier in December 2023 the company offered a look at concept art for other outfits Tifa might have worn as a child.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will come to the PS5 on February 29, 2024, with the console exclusivity arrangement ending on May 29, 2024. FFVII Remake is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. FFVII Ever Crisis is available now on both the PC and mobile devices.

In the last game, he used martial arts, and we see him use a number of kicks in the latest footage.

Armored Core 6 Handler Walter hoodie

A new hoodie inspired by Handler Walter from Armored Core 6 will appear in Japan. Mamegyorai has opened pre-orders for a Frost hoodie based on the character under its TorchTorch brand. The item will be available at 13,200 yen (~$96.23).

The hoodie will be available in five sizes: S, M, L, XL, and XXL—based on Japanese sizing standards. A side of the pocket will feature the English quote "621... I'll give you a reason to exist." The center of the hoodie will have Handler Walter's emblem intentionally made with cracked ink to depict his personality.

The hoodie will also be available to ship internationally via Buyee. However, as of the reveal on December 20, 2023, it lists all five hoodie sizes as "sold out."

Many other merchandise based on Armored Core VI have been revealed in recent months. Kotobukiya, which has been re-releasing its legacy Armored Core model kits including Nineball Seraph, also confirmed plans to release new kits based on the series' latest entry in 2024.

The Armored Core 6 hoodie will be available in February 2024. It is modeled after Handler Walter, a key character who guides the protagonist C4-621 in the video game. Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is immediately available worldwide on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Epilogue The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Announced

Nintendo announced there will be a Pokemon Scarlet and Violet epilogue called The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. This will launch on January 11, 2024, and someone needs to own the base game and expansion pass.

Editor's note: There will be some spoilers for the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet ending below.

The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero trailer appeared to offer a hint as to what to expect. At the end of the base game, players were able to go to Area Zero with Arven, Nemona, and Penny to explore and close out all the stories together. For this next tale, the trailer starts with the player at home with their mother. She brings up how there will be one more adventure for everyone. From there, it pans in on Kitakami. It's at the spot where the player goes on the combined trip with the Blueberry Academy students during The Teal Mask. However, this time the avatar is there alongside Arven, Nemona, and Penny.

No dialogue is shown after this point, so we don't know why the four students from the academy are there together. However, Arven and Penny both appear to be pointing at something airborne at one moment. At the very end of the trailer, it teases a specific item that seems to be the Mythical Pecha Berry connected to a new Pokemon.

Here's the full trailer for the new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet epilogue. It closes out by saying it will be available on January 11, 2024 at 14:00 UTC. That would be about 6am PT/9am ET/4pm CEST. It also clarifies you need to finish the main game and its postgame, as well as The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk stories.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is available for the Nintendo Switch, as is its Teal Mask and Indigo Disk DLC, and The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero epilogue will come to the game on January 11, 2024 is someone owns the game and expansion.

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron Switch version

Crim's Sawaki Takeyasu announced the release date for the Nintendo Switch version of El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron. The new port will be available on April 28, 2024.

The Switch port will have HD Remaster on its subtitle, as it will be a direct port from the 2021 PC version. The developers declared that the Switch version will have Full HD resolution and 60fps frame rate just like the PC release.

All copies of the Switch version—including digital releases—will come with an art book and the "Lucifer's Fall - Chronicles of Ceta" novel. Rainy Frog will publish the physical copies. Crim is also preparing limited Dramatic Edition packages that add a drama sound CD telling the fall of Lucifer and its script book with brand-new illustrations. A set of six postcards will also be available exclusively from the company's web store.

Pre-orders for the regular and limited physical releases will open in Japan on December 21, 2023. Crim is also working to open digital pre-orders on January 11, 2024, as the date January 11 also contains a reference to "Ichiban ii" in one of Enoch's famous quotes, "I'll take the best you have."

The major announcement video for the Switch port of El Shaddai is available to watch right below via Crim's YouTube channel:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDLFcRUqmR8

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron originally came out for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2011. Ten years later in September 2021, Sawaki Takeyasu's company Crim released an HD remaster of the game for PCs via Steam. Shortly afterward, Takeyasu recruited more staff to port the PC remaster to Nintendo Switch. The team eventually confirmed the port's development in April 2022, although it last provided an update in October 2022.

The Nintendo Switch version of El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron HD Remaster will be available on April 28, 2024. The game is also available immediately on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Fortnite Big Bang Battle Pass 1920x1080 33cdd008e725 (1)Weekly Fortnite quests usually aren't too challenging, but sometimes they can be just annoying enough to need a guide. Best Cash Register and Safe Locations in Fortnite Chapter 5 To complete this quest, all you have to do is search five different cash registers or safes. Safes are way less common than cash registers, so most people will want to find the former rather than the latter to knock this quest out quickly.
