It was always fun to tear through the grubby guts of a Gothic industrial megacity with your chainsword, but it became repetitive and its whole loot-o-crafting mess sucked. A year on, the loot and crafting still suck, but I've really enjoyed the variety added by new levels and weapons and the polish from a year of tweaks and quality-of-life changes. If you played Darktide on Game Pass (or bought it), consider another look. |

Square Enix started taking pre-orders for Final Fantasy VII Remake plush of Rufus Shinra and the Turks members Reno and Rude. All three cost $39.99 and will ship in September 2024.
The heights of the three stuffed versions of the characters vary. Reno and Rude are the tallest, at over 7.68 inches each. However, Rufus is listed as being 6.85 inches tall. All of them featured embroidered eyes. Different types of fabrics also appear to be used for different textures.
First, here we can see how the Final Fantasy VII Remake Rufus plush will look. While he is wearing his distinctive take on his coat from the remake, it is a bit difficult to see based on his size and the plush doll's position.
Next, here's how this version of the Reno Final Fantasy VII Remake stuffed animal will look. It also features his trademark goggles, red tattoos near his eyes, and ponytail.
As for the Final Fantasy VII Remake Rude toy, he has his earrings in his left and right ears, his glasses, and his beard.
This is part of a continuing Final Fantasy VII Remake line of stuffed animals. The first ones to announced were Aerith, Barret, Cloud, and Tifa. Those first appeared in 2021, ahead of the Intergrade version of the game. A Sephiroth one also appeared, though it is more expensive at $44.99. While they aren't a part of this same collection, there are also plush of Red XIII, Cait Sith, and the Moogle the cat rides as well.
FFVII Remake is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. FFVII Ever Crisis is available now on both the PC and mobile devices. FFVII Rebirth will come to the PS5 on February 29, 2024, with the console exclusivity arrangement ending on May 29, 2024. Bandai Namco confirmed Krillin, Piccolo, Yamcha, and Tien will appear as characters in the upcoming Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero. It first came up at the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour 2022/2023 Finals before appearing again at The Game Awards 2023, where the new entry in the Budokai Tenkaichi series appeared under a new Western name.
While the characters briefly appeared in the game's initial trailer, it was unknown if they would be fully playable or appear as supporting characters. Now that they have been confirmed, there is a good chance that other characters briefly visibile in the trailer may also appear, including Mr. Satan, Cell, and Android 18. This is in addition to Goku, Vegeta, Broly, and Frieza, who featured more heavily in the trailer itself. There is no word yet on what the characters' playstyles or abilities will be like in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.

Back in October a Fall, 2024 release window was announced for upcoming anime series Dragon Ball Daima, which will see early Dragon Ball stories reimagined with the cast as children. The actress behind several Dragon Ball characters including Goku, Masako Nozawa, also received the Kikuchi Kan prize for her performances and contribution to the arts.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is currently in development for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes entered the bug fixing stage of development, Rabbit and Bear Studios confirmed. In the final Steam development log of 2023, co-directors and co-producers Yoshitaka Murayama and Osamu Komuta shared some insights into the process.
Murayama went into how much work is required to do bug fixing for Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. The biography of the game contains "a huge number" of characters, along with their own scenario settings. The hub town features multiple facilities that each bring their own issues. Finally, the middle of the story allows open progression which affects how the story plays out. With all these factors in play, bug reports can be long. However, Murayama does state that the "psychological damage" of the reports is better than his time working on Suikoden, when the reports were handwritten and stacked.
Although the focus of the update was bug fixing, Komuta did share some new screenshots, detailing a new snowy village named Skriss Village. The second screenshot showed a mysterious icy plateau featuring the character of Nowa in a block of ice.
The team also apologised for a lack of updates due to logistical issues related to individual platforms. This is despite a recent new trailer showing off a range of features of the game. The team has promised regular updates again in the new year. The next update is set for January 10, 2024, followed by updates on the last Wednesday of each month as they have done in the past.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes will be released on April 23, 2024 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.

Good Smile Company opened pre-orders for the Frieren Nendoroids of Frieren and Fern ahead of the 2024 debut of the figures. Each one comes with a special bonus part when ordered directly from the company.
Both the Frieren and Fern figures will appear in July 2024 in Japan. The Japanese storefront is selling Frieren for ¥6,500 and Fern for ¥5,900. Meanwhile, the US storefront has Frieren for $40.99 and Fern for $37.99. It will ship from there in Q4 2024.
Each character will come with three face plates and a number of accessories. Frieren's expressions are neutral, happy, and smug. She also comes with a Blue-Moon Weed, grimoire, and staff she can hold. Fern also has a neutral face plate, as well as ones where she looks mad or is pouting. She has the comb gift, staff, and Zoltraak to hold.

As for the bonus items, each one has a different extra part. Frieren includes a Merkur Pudding she can hold. Meanwhile, Fern has the clothing-dissolving potion. You can see both below.
While these two Nendoroids are new, it isn't unusual for figures of characters from the series to appear. Especially together. Design Coco made a scale one of the two of them together alongside Madhouse, the studio behind the anime.
The Frieren Nendoroids of her and Fern will debut in July 2024 in Japan and Q4 2024 in North America. Pre-orders are open until February 15, 2024. The manga is handled by Viz Media outside Japan, and the anime is streaming on Crunchyroll.

Square Enix has formally launched its first NFT project Symbiogenesis on December 21, 2023. The project's website is accessible in English and Japanese with Google Chrome browsers on PCs and mobile devices. It also requires all users to have a MetaMask NFT wallet and a Discord account with two-factor authentication enabled.
Symbiogenesis features multiple stories that gradually unravel the mysteries of the floating continent. While everyone can instantly read the main story, there are also stories that players must unlock by finding certain items or cooperating with fellow players via the project's Discord server. The overall story consists of six chapters, and there will also be a climactic World Mission where three chosen players can determine the continent's ultimate fate.
The title Symbiogenesis was first discovered through a trademark that Square Enix registered in October 2022. The company later confirmed in November 2022 that Symbiogenesis would become its first NFT endeavor. Square Enix first opened the project's website in March 2023 while teasing the appearances of 10,000 characters. However, the company also had to gradually increase the maximum cap of Member Card NFT as it was reached in a short amount of time.
Symbiogenesis is now available worldwide on PC, Android, and iOS devices via Google Chrome browsers.

According to an official announcement from Cover via social media, the Hololive Vtuber Murasaki Shion will be on an indefinite hiatus from December 21, 2023. Effective immediately, she will not participate in streaming or content creation until further notice.
In Murasaki Shion's post, she mentioned that she will be completing some work that has already been pre-determined for her. She will complete what is currently on her schedule at this time, and then refrain from making any more content for the foreseeable future.
An explicit reason for this hiatus was not stated by Cover or Shion, but she did mention that she hopes to meet with fans again once she returns to feeling her best. She also included that it would make her the most happy if her fans didn't worry too much and waited patiently for her return.

Idol Corp took to social media to announce that Vtuber Momo Otako is now be on hiatus. The reason for the break, which is indefinite, is to allow her time to focus on her health and recover.
Here is Idol Corp's statement about Momo. It didn't offer any details about her condition, but did offer well wishes as she goes through treatment.
Momo herself also offered a brief statement on the situation. She wished people a Merry Christmas and thanked people for their understanding.
One of Momo's last appearances was on a stream celebrating the six month anniversary of Endless. That is the second generation of Idol Corp Vtubers and includes Kai Saikota, Coni Confetti, Poko Rakun, and Roca Rourin. You can watch the show below.
Momo Otako debuted as a Idol Corp Vtuber back in June 2023. Her design was based on the dumbo octopus. In addition to playing games on streams, she would also perform songs. Her last cover was "Cute Girlfriend" back in October 2023.
This is the second bit of news surrounding the performers tied to Idol Corp. Back at the end of November 2023, the company terminated the contract of Project Star Vtuber Riro Ron for numerous violations.

Square Enix announced a new FFVII Ever Crisis Character Quest starring Barret. "A Dad's Struggles" is available now in-game.
These sorts of quests tend to flesh out stories that people might be aware of, due to events in the game, but that never were told in game-format or given as much attention. In the case of this story, we get to see more insight into the relationship between Barret and his daughter Marlene. While the announcement didn't explain exactly how the story will go or what rewards it will net players who go through it, it did share a trailer showing part of the story.
Here's the first teaser for the FFVII Ever Crisis Barret Character Quest Code 1 "A Dad's Struggles." It appears to show Barret carrying Marlene via a wrap around his chest. They're out in the wild. He also keeps asserting, "Daddy's gonna make it!"
This is one of many FFVII Ever Crisis events and additions on the way. Square Enix released a road map that covers December 2023 and January 2024 for the game. It noted that on December 21, 2023, there will also be the start of the Boss Rush: Clash of Vengeance event and that everyone will get a 3,000 Blue Crystals Winter Gift.
Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available for PCs and mobile devices.

Onkyo has revealed new VR goggles with NieR Automata Ver1.1a and YoRHa brands. It will open pre-orders on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 3 PM JST (1 AM ET). The item will cost ¥15,000 (~$105.50). International shipments for the item may also be available, as Onkyo's web store supports the Buyee widget.
The smartphone VR goggles will be based on the Homido Prime VR headset, which normally costs €69.99 (~$77). Onkyo's official X account added that the device 9S used in the tenth episode of the Ver1.1a anime will serve as a design basis for the goggles.
The VR goggles will not be Onkyo's first NieR Automata-branded item. The company had previously released earphones with YoRHa logos in 2022. Other companies have also revealed audio-related items with the popular game brand, such as Yamaha's game streaming mixers and Arma Bianca's AirPods cases.
The NieR Automata Ver1.1a anime, which started airing in early 2023, served as a basis for this merchandise. Aniplex announced in July 2023 that the anime's second cour is under production. However, it has still yet to reveal a launch window as of December 21, 2023.
Pre-orders for the NieR Automata Ver1.1a-branded VR goggles will open from December 22, 2023, to January 31, 2024. Onkyo will start shipping the items between late March 2024 and early April 2024.

3goo has announced that it will release the Japanese version of UFO Robot Grendizer: The Feast of the Wolves for PlayStation 5 and 4 on April 18, 2024. It will include Japanese voiceovers, and Microids will also add the new voice option to the global release once the game is formally out in Japan.
The Japanese version will have a different subtitle: Tatoe Waga Inochi Tsukiru tomo (Even if My Life Were to Perish). A limited Collector's Edition will be available at ¥7,980 (~$56), and it will include an artbook, two character pins, a Grendizer keychain, an original soundtrack album, and four postcards. The Japanese box will still have less content than the European Collector's Edition, which comes with a 25cm (~9.84 inches) tall figurine and costs more at £249.99 (~$316).
3goo has also published a new trailer to announce the Japanese release date. But while the end of the trailer confirms the inclusion of Japanese voiceovers, it mostly reused the English launch trailer with English voiceovers while adding Japanese subtitles.
UFO Robot Grendizer: The Feast of the Wolves has been available worldwide on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC since November 14, 2023. However, it only features voiceovers in English, French, Italian, and Arabic at launch.
Microids has also addressed the issue regarding Japanese voiceovers on the game's Steam forum. It promised that it will add the Japanese voice option as a free update to all available platforms worldwide as soon as the official Japanese release is out. The French company initially put Q1 2024 as an estimated release window for the Japanese version.
UFO Robot Grendizer: The Feast of the Wolves is immediately available worldwide on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC. The Japanese release of UFO Robot Grendizer: Tatoe Waga Inochi Tsukiru tomo, which also brings Japanese voiceovers, will appear on April 18, 2024. Microids is also planning to release the game for Nintendo Switch in 2024.
