At FFXIV Tokyo Fan Fest 2024, Square Enix released a ton of new details and recapped things we need to know about the upcoming Dawntrail expansion for Final Fantasy XIV. There is quite a lot of new content and changes coming in Patch 7.0, which fans can look forward to in Summer 2024.
The Dawntrail expansion will take players to the new region of Tural. It includes two main cities for players to explore: the Central and South American-inspired Tuliyollal and the futuristic-looking Solution Nine. There are also many new dungeons coming in FFXIV Patch 7.0 that will feature some of these areas.
There are two new job classes for players to check out, alongside the max level cap's rise from 90 to 100. The first is the Disciple of War job Viper. This melee DPS class shares gear with the Ninja. The second is the Disciple of Magic Pictomancer. It shares gear with other ranged DPS magic classes like the Red Mage and Summoner. A limited job called Beastmaster is also on the way, though it won't appear at launch.
Here are some of the other major features, changes, and additions in the upcoming Patch 7.0:
Final Fantasy XIV is available now for the PS4, PS5, and PC. FFXIV Dawntrail will release for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in Summer 2024 and bring the game up to 7.0.

During the FFXIV Fan Festival 2024 keynote, Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida revealed the new limited job will Beastmaster. It will be added to the game in "the latter part of 7.X."
At the moment, only the name for the role appeared. Yoshida noted when discussing the Beastmaster that the team is looking into a "collection" feature for it. Yoshida also said, "As a limited job, we are proceeding with plans to allow you to play solo or in parties with other limited jobs." He also noted art and more details about it will appear eventually.
When implemented following the Dawntrail 7.0 patches, the Beastmaster will become the second limited job in FFXIV. At the moment, the Blue Mage is the only one available. As it is limited, there are certain duties that aren't available and solo ones aren't available. That job features a mechanic that involves learning spells by watching different enemies use them when fighting and defeating them.
As a reminder, there will be two full jobs appearing in FFXIV Dawntrail as well. One is the Viper, which appeared at the 2023 Fan Fest London. The other is the Pictomancer, which debuted at Fan Fest 2024 Tokyo.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. It is also headed to the Xbox Series X in Spring 2024. The Dawntrail expansion is in development for a Summer 2024 release.

As part of the Final Fantasy XIV 2024 Fan Fest Tokyo keynote, new videos for the FFXIV Dawntrail cities Solution Nine and Tuliyollal and dungeons appeared. These showcase a number of locations players will get to explore.
First, here's a video looking at the new some of the new Tuliyollal locations in Dawntrail. This offers a look at the city and some surrounding areas, as well as field areas people will get to explore. Interiors and exteriors of some locations are shown.
Next, here's the second of the confirmed cities in Tural that we'll visit in FFXIV Dawntrail: Solution Nine. Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida noted this is a place people will live and not a dungeon. He also noted that art shown in the keynote had spoiler elements removed, and that a "different civilization" created it.
Finally, there's a trailer looking at some of the FFXIV Dawntrail dungeons. Names weren't shown, and Yoshida noted there were no spoilers shown in them. However, it does offer an idea of places where players will fight. This video also includes a "draft" of the dungeon music from Composer Masayoshi Soken.
This information follows a new trailer for the FFXIV Pictomancer job joining the roster in Dawntrail.

Square Enix announced the upcoming FFXIV Patch 6.55 Part 2 release date. It is set for January 16, 2024, and the patch brings with it the grand finale to the post-Endwalker storyline and pave the way for the upcoming Dawntrail expansion.
The release date was revealed during the Fan Fest Tokyo 2024 keynote. The impending release date is quite soon and will offer players the final set of main scenario quests for the Endwalker expansion. It will conclude the story and introduce characters and elements from the upcoming expansion of Dawntrail.
The release date arrives on that day due to the development team taking about a week off after the end of Fan Fest. A 24-hour maintenance patch is planned before the release of Patch 6.55. Players should expect to be unable to access the game around January 15, 2024. Patch 6.55 will not only see the MSQ, but also an overhauling of the Japanese data centers.
We also already know some of the new content coming in Dawntrail, thanks to this keynote. The Pictomancer will be a new job, and the female Hrothgar appeared.
Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail releases for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in Summer 2024. FFXIV Patch 6.55 Main Scenario Part 2 will release on January 16, 2024.

The Final Fantasy XIV Tokyo Fan Fest 2024 revealed the latest Disciple of Magic FFXIV Dawntrail job known as the Pictomancer. The Pictomancer will join the likes of Black Mage, Red Mage, and Summoner as the new ranged magical DPS class. The job class originated in Final Fantasy VI and takes some inspiration from that entry, while offering new features.
The Pictomancer wields a brush and easel with which they create magical images to use spells in battle. It has a broad approach, allowing the Pictomancer to draw creatures, weapons, and landscapes to deal damage to foes. A short gameplay trailer also released during the 2024 FFXIV Tokyo Fan Fest, showing off some of the Pictomancer's abilities and attacks in action.
The spells appear to have a unique and colorful aesthetic to them with the dedicated visual effects. The background for the Pictomancer involves using Aether on their brush to turn their imaginations into reality. Pictomancer has access to both traditional casting abilities and instant ones. While not a total support job, it offers some supportive abilities to make it less directly DPS-focused than other jobs like Black Mage.
Here's the FFXIV Dawntrail Pictomancer:
There is no required class for the job, so players have the option to start with Pictomancer right off the bat as long as they own the expansion and have reached level 80 with another job. The starting level for Pictomancer is level 80 and players will be able to unlock it in Gridania.
Interestingly enough, German fans may remember the original Pictomancer as being called the Duplikant. It will not retain this name from FFVI, but instead feature the title Piktomant, similar to the other regions and languages. This change comes because of how the Pictomancer works this time. It doesn't duplicate in the way the original version did.
The new Pictomancer job class in the Dawntrail expansion debuts alongside the latest Disciple of War melee DPS class, Viper. Both job classes will release at the launch of the new expansion sometime in Summer 2024.
Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail will release for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in Summer 2024.

During the keynote for the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2024 Tokyo, an updated Dawntrail trailer showed the female Hrothgar. A new ally for the Warrior of Light is a member of this race from Yok Tural.
The new character's name, who appears as an example of how a female Hrothgar will appear in Final Fantasy XIV, didn't get a name in the new trailer. She does speak in it, however. She says, "At least, we come to the land you call the new world. My home: Tural." Later in the keynote, Yoshida said her name is Wuclomat, she's the daughter of the current ruler of Tural, and she's the one who requested the Scions' help.
Here are some screenshots of her in the trailer.
Back in 2019, Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida explained how things like the cost of development and other elements resulted in only female Viera and male Hrothgar. However, in 2021 he announced that male Viera and female Hrothgar would be headed to the game and suggested both would appear in Endwalker, with the new Viera gender showing up first. In a 2022 update, Yoshida noted that development on the female Hrothgar was progressing, but it would take more time for them to appear. Now it is confirmed that we'll start seeing them in Dawntrail.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. It is also headed to the Xbox Series X in Spring 2024. The Dawntrail expansion is in development for a Summer 2024 release.
