PCGamesN Thursday, May 9, 2024 6:54 PM 1000xRESIST is a striking game, from its name through to its premise and visual style. Its eerie sci fi world and narrative call to mind Nier Automata, Killer7, Remember Me, Signalis, and 2017's underrated Echo, though it appears to be far more than a simple combination of those influences. It's also generated a lot of buzz in the lead up to its launch, racking up award nominations from the Independent Games Festival (or IGF) and establishing it as a project worth keeping an eye on. Now, it's come out on Steam, giving curious audiences the opportunity to take a closer look. MORE FROM PCGAMESN: New PC games, Best RPG games, Best story games |
PCGamesN Thursday, May 9, 2024 5:35 PM Creating a sequel to the widely revered Crusader Kings 2 couldn't have been an easy task. Just the same, Stellaris, Europa Universalis 4, and Victoria 3 makers Paradox Development Studio accepted the challenge and more than succeeded with 2020's Crusader Kings 3. Since the game came out, it's received plenty of acclaim as a successor to one of Paradox's most popular strategy projects and, as is typical of its creator, been well supported with frequent fixes and expansions. The latest of these is an update that came out yesterday, accompanied by a steep discount, and, even better, an opportunity to play the game for free on Steam for the next few days. Wanderers From Ys, also known as Ys III: Wanderers from Ys, is now available globally on the Nintendo Switch eShop. The game is currently priced at $6.49 and runs via the EGGCONSOLE emulation system owned by publisher D4 Enterprise.
Originally released in 1989 for the PC-8801 and PC-9801, Wanderers from Ys would later receive ports to several consoles like the SNES and Genesis as well as a Playstation 2 Remake. It would also be reimagined as 2005's Ys: The Oath in Felghana which is currently available on Steam.
The game itself is a fairly direct sequel to the previous Ys games, and features Adol and Dogi returning to save the latter's home town of Felghana. The perspective has switched from the previous games nearly-top down view to a side-scrolling one, and is compatible with the Switch Pro Controller and Handheld mode.
You can get a look at some screenshots of the game in the gallery below:
Several songs from Nihon Falcom properties like the Ys and Trails series recently appeared in a DLC pack for DJMax Respect V. Meanwhile, Village Vanguard also started selling a set of merchandise featuring Ys characters back in September 2023.

PC Invasion - FeedDDD Thursday, May 9, 2024 8:13 PM Vampire Survivors is a tough nut to crack, and although you'll eventually have that 'eureka!' moment when it all falls into place, it can be a slog until you do. Beating new levels for the first time can be an arduous task, but fear not, let me show you the best builds for each stage in Vampire Survivors. Best builds in Vampire Survivors Each stage has a unique assortment of nasties to throw at the player, but with smart choices, you can take the sting out of your opponents. I'll suggest builds for each stage, but use these as a guide, as you're not guaranteed to find these items during every run. Ultimately, your chances of survival will shoot up if you pack your build with as many Evo's as possible. For most stages, you can use whatever you want (within reason) and do well. Some levels require more nuance, but let's start with a general build you can use just about anywhere: Mad Forest Build / Early Game Build Image: PC Invasio... |
