Cities Skylines 2 economy patch suddenly delayed just before launch

Landlords. No-one likes them, unless you are one, and even in gaming they can cause problems. In Cities Skylines 2 landlords have caused high rent issues which mean your citizens have been forced to cut spending on building upkeep among other issues. The Economy 2.0 update was meant to fix this, and this patch was supposed to launch today, but a sudden delay has meant that your virtual landlords have a stay of execution. For now.

A Manor Lords city building rival on Steam is available to play now

I've been writing a lot of stories about pirate games recently. I'm not complaining, I love pirates, but I wonder what's causing the trend. Maybe Skull and Bones being in development for so long gave everyone else time to come up with their own pirate ideas. There are also lots of city builders out there, like Manor Lords, but they can feel limiting when everything feels a bit static. Now, there's a new game that, like Manor Lords, combines city building and RTS, but, like a pirate, also gives you the freedom to roam whenever and wherever you wish.

Dead Cells remains one of the greatest roguelike platformers ever made, even now several years after its launch. Now, the long-anticipated animated series spinoff has made its appearance and what's more - you can watch the first episode for free.

If, like me, you love pirates, and you're sad we haven't had a good pirate RPG since Assassin's Creed Black Flag, then you'll be excited to see this new gameplay from Flint: Treasure of Oblivion. It's a tactical pirate RPG that takes clear inspiration from Diablo's isometric point of view and XCOM's tough, turn-based combat, all set during the golden age of piracy. Throw in some good old-fashioned dice rolls à la DnD and Baldur's Gate 3 and you've got the makings for an instant classic on your hands.

Samsung is reportedly working on some mysterious new SSD tech

Samsung appears to have at least one new lineup of SSDs in the works, and possibly two of them. Samsung was the undisputed king of SSDs for a good few years, but while the Samsung 980 Pro is one of the best SSDs for gaming when it comes to value, the company hasn't yet produced a drive that uses the new super-fast 4x PCIe 5.0 interface.      Intel just updated us on game crashes, and it's not looking good

Intel has finally updated us on its search for the cause of game crashes on Intel CPUs, including the Core i9 14900K. According to the chip maker, a bunch of motherboard BIOS updates will be coming soon to fix one contributing factor, but the company says it's still yet to identify the "root cause" of the game crashes on Intel CPUs.

The extreme multi-threaded power and high clock speed of the Core i9 14900K makes it one of the company's best gaming CPU options right now, but there have been many reports of game crashes on Intel CPUs in games based on the Unreal engine recently. This latest announcement from Intel isn't timely either, as the company originally promised to make a statement about the situation in May 2024.

The 20 best Minecraft shaders 2024

What are the best Minecraft shaders? With shaders, you can instantly level up the look of your Minecraft world - even without an RTX graphics card. But with so many downloadable mods for the sandbox game, if you're unsure, let's start with what Minecraft shaders are.

One of the best PC games of all time and the ongoing king of sandbox games, Minecraft has incredible replayability, keeping fans and newbies coming to the game time after time. While the vanilla game still gets regular updates, Minecraft mods, texture packs, resource packs, and shaders can completely reinvent the game, affecting its overall look. For example, mods can completely alter gameplay, and Minecraft texture packs and resource packs change the appearance of existing blocks and add new blocks, respectively. Meanwhile, shader packs give you the same game with fancier graphics and effects.

Is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 coming to Game Pass?

Is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 coming to Game Pass? Set in the Gulf War, the next CoD is a new entry in the Black Ops sub series, and comes after the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 in 2023. After completing its purchase of CoD, World of Warcraft, and Overwatch owner Activision Blizzard, Microsoft has already brought Diablo 4 over to Game Pass. Now it's being claimed that Call of Duty could follow.

With CoD Black Ops 6 taking place in the Gulf War, this game is already a Call of Duty first, and a much-needed change from the War on Terror and sci-fi futuristic settings that have largely dominated the series for the past ten years. The war game coming to Game Pass would mark another first for the series, so here's what we know about the next installment in the beloved FPS game series.

LoL tier list patch 14.12 - top, jungle, mid, ADC and support

What are the best League of Legends champions right now? Metas change, the LoL tier list will fluctuate, and it could be that your favorite champion might not be in a great place right now. While you can win games and climb the ranked ladder with nearly anyone in the lower ranks, the changes that come via champion and item balancing can tip the scales enough that some picks are almost mandatory, regardless of which rank you play.

We've studied the latest LoL patch notes and found the strongest champions in League of Legends right now. These picks will give you the best chance to climb the solo queue ranks in the free PC game, whether it's due to a buff, a kit adjustment, or an item change. If you want to play something other than what's on this list, keep these champions in mind for your ban, as they all have the potential to go on and dominate Summoner's Rift.

     Best Skyrim mods 2024

What are the best Skyrim mods? They can be tough to find because there's a lot of them. Or they're just out to transform farmyard animals into deadly explosives. Whatever floats. But when you're looking for the best Skyrim mods, where do you start?

Installing mods is quite simple for one of the best PC games and arguably the most popular RPG game there. This is due mainly to how Steam Workshop makes it easy to install and activate them, but also that you can add the more advanced ones to a special folder within your Skyrim files.      How much have I spent on LoL?

19/06/2024 It appears as though the Riot support page for finding money spent is currently back 'under construction'. We will update this page once it is back up and running.

How do you see how much you have spent on League of Legends? Riot Games' hugely successful MOBA is technically a free game, but if you ask any avid fan if that's the case, you'll no doubt receive a wry laugh in response. The champion pool is diverse and wonderful; each character can be purchased with currency earned while playing. Premium cosmetics, however, are bought with real-world money.

These League of Legends skins and other cosmetics can be purchased directly using an in-game currency called RP. RP itself, though, must be purchased with your hard-earned cash. LoL skins change the base look of the character you're playing, with premium cosmetics adding new effects, voice lines, and animations. Then there's the battle pass that can be bought using RP, too. So, while League of Legends is technically one of the best free PC games around, you can see just how easily it can sway you into parting with your money. This guide will give you the information needed to find out exactly how much you've spent in League of Legends - you just might not like the answer when you get it.

The 27 best Minecraft texture packs June 2024

What are the best Minecraft texture packs? These colorful and game-altering texture packs can make your world a completely new experience. Of course, Minecraft's low-fi charm is part of the draw, but texture packs range from subtle changes to an all-over reskin, so you can choose just how much you want to leave vanilla Minecraft behind. We've scoured and tried a bunch of different packs to be able to recommend the very best.

Just like the best Minecraft mods and shaders, texture packs can help give an entirely new feel to one of the best PC games of the last decade, and it's just one of many ways of keeping the sandbox game feeling fresh after all these years. While some mods can alter Minecraft gameplay, and shaders change the quality and style of the graphics, texture packs allow you to add a new skin to existing blocks. Included in our list of the best Minecraft texture packs are realistic blocks, cartoonish overhauls, and cute changes to the way Minecraft mobs look.

If you were playing Final Fantasy XIV in December 2021, you will remember the launch of its last expansion Endwalker - though not for all the right reasons. The otherwise fantastic cap to the near-decade-long Hydelyn-Zodiark was beset by a barrage of technical problems at launch, as the MMO's servers buckled under the weight of record numbers of players, leading to hours-long queues to login that would often end in an error that then kicked you back into the queue. As someone that sat there for literal hours watching the numbers tick down, it wasn't a great time - even if the wait was, ultimately, worth it.

nijisanji ayakaki

Anycolor will debut Izure Ayame Ka Kakitsubata (Ayakaki), a new Nijisanji VTuber group, on June 22, 2024. The group will consist of four people and one animal.

You can watch the debut teaser video here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UC-stBrOoLs

Each VTuber started using Twitter (X) from June 19, 2024. So if there's one you're interested in, you can follow from there. The new Nijisanji VTuber group members are:

  • Kisara: A feng shui practitioner in Ranfu who tends to start her days pretty late.
  • Kozue Mone: The owner of an incense shop who has the adoration and admiration of all the girls in town; she may or may not be completely inexperienced when it comes to dating.
  • Lunlun: A mysterious amnesiac creature that wants to learn more about the world.
  • Shiga Riko: The tourism ambassador for Ranfu. She is usually very calm, but can get very passionate about things she likes.
  • Tamanoi Nana The best performer in the Ranfu circus who likes food so much she fights with the lion over it. She's not good at singing or dancing, but she's practicing them both for her audience.

Though Lunlun is an animal, the talent inside of them is probably a person. It's similar to Debidebi Debiru, who's also with Nijisanji. All of them have a Chinese-inspired theme to their designs, complete with the lore for their group. They all live in a town called Lanfu and their debut song is "Xiao Xiao Lanlan." There are also some digital goods for them to celebrate their debut. You can get the complete set of voices from Ayakaki, as well as the group's key visual to set as your wallpaper.

On June 22, 2024, there will be a debut relay stream where each talent has about thirty minutes to introduce themselves and their content. This is standard with most debut groups. The order will be Shiga Riko, Tamanoi Nana, Kisara, Kozue Mone, and then Lunlun. The stream will start from 7:00 PM JT (3:00 AM PT/6:00 AM ET).

Ayakaki, the newest VTuber group from Nijisanji, will debut on June 22, 2024.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble Adventure Mode Includes Multiplayer

The Monkey Ball series is a staple for Sega, with new entries regularly appearing on various consoles. Sometimes, they mean new courses to roll through. Other times, the priority ends up being on party games that implement the mechanics. With Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble on the horizon, especially with it including multiplayer in the Adventure Mode as one of its signature features, Siliconera spoke with Director Daisuke Takahata, Producer Nobuhiro Suzuki, and Designer Yukio Oda about the game.

When did development begin on Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble?

Nobuhiro Suzuki: Development started about 2 years ago, so around the spring of 2022.

How did the development of Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania affect Banana Rumble?

Suzuki and Yukio Oda: In response to user feedback from Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania, we have made a number of improvements and quality of life updates to Banana Rumble, including the ability to enjoy Adventure Mode with up to four players in multiplayer, and improvements to physics in an effort to make it simpler and more intuitive. I believe that the development of Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania has helped to enhance the quality of Banana Rumble in many ways.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble is the first entry in over five years to be limited to a single platform. Did that affect the development process in any way?

Sukuki and Oda: The reason for limiting the game to Nintendo Switch was primarily to provide a stable quality of online competition with 16 players, which is the biggest selling point of this game. As a result of focusing on a single platform, we were able to focus on the implementation and stabilization of online matches over time, and as a result, we were able to reach a level that our users can enjoy.

If we receive support from our users, we believe we can consider expanding platforms in the future, so please support Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_v4IzkNqN8&ab_channel=SEGA

Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble supports 16-player multiplayer. What led to the development shooting for that number?

Sukuki: For the number of players, we tried a lot of things during the development stage. When it came to stability on the network itself — the processing speed, the fun of the competition -- in order to firmly establish these elements, we found that the optimal number of players is 16. That's the reason why we went with the number that we did.

How did developing for a larger group affect game modes? Are there any concepts you wanted to include, but couldn't, because of the larger player count?

Daisuke Takahata: Developing for a larger group had various influences, and was also a big challenge for us. As the number of players increased, it inevitably means there will be more players that can't get to be "first place," so we aimed for gameplay that allows as many more players to have a chance to win. Also, since you will be colliding with a lot of people, we made many detailed adjustments to how the ball would rebound.

Likewise, how did the larger number of players in multiplayer affect Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble options?

Takahata: So a new option that came about due to the increase in the number of players is that we now have a "Chat Wheel." This shortcut allows you to send messages and stickers to other players at different moments during gameplay, and you can and customize it as you see fit. This option exists because Banana Rumble is different than other entries in the Super Monkey Ball series up until now, so we hope players have a lot of fun interacting with others all around the world in this unique way.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGGo3VfRQ20&ab_channel=SEGA

Super Monkey Ball games are, as of late, known for their guest stars and optional characters that sometimes appear as DLC. Will Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble feature the same sorts of cameos and how will that affect the multiplayer experience?

Suzuki: When the guest characters were announced for our last title, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania, there was a very positive response from the fans. As a result, we are very excited to share what additional content players can expect in Banana Rumble through the SEGA Pass and other updates, so we hope everyone is looking forward to that.

As for how the additional characters will impact the gameplay, the scope of how you can enjoy the game will expand, but they won't give you an advantage in a match. User technique and luck will always play a key role in the experience. It will not be a pay-to-win situation, so please don't be concerned about that.

The Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble Adventure Mode also features four-player co-op multiplayer. How difficult was this to implement, and how does it affect progression?

Suzuki: The traditional gameplay of Super Monkey Ball can be found in Adventure Mode, so while it wasn't as difficult to implement as Battle Mode, especially with it supporting up to 16 players, there were still a lot of issues to solve, including the user of split-screen and user contact. Specifically, it is difficult to meet the needs of both "cooperation " and" competition, " and for this reason, we have introduced a range of options such as allowing players the choice to turn off collision so you don't bounce off each other, along with other  settings. Also, to make sure the game can be enjoyed by family and friends, we have made adjustments that are unique to multiplayer, like how everyone can work together to complete missions.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble will come to the Nintendo Switch on June 25, 2025.

Team Asano Comments on Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake Announcement

Team Asano shared some words about the announcement of the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake back when it was originally revealed in May 2021. The developers said that the announcement of the game was made earlier than usual, and they regret the early reveal.

The message about the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake announcement appeared in a post written in Japanese and shared on the Bravely Default II official X (formerly Twitter) account, which acted as a representative for Team Asano in this particular instance. In it, Team Asano addressed the unusually early announcement of the game made all the way back in May 2021. The English translation of the post reads as follows:

People have said that it took us too long since announcing the start of development (for the game,) but all of our past titles have taken 3 or 4 years to develop, so it's nothing special, really.

However, the announcement was made earlier than usual (and we regret it.)

So, thank you for your support.

Formally known as Creative Business Unit II within Square Enix, Team Asano is helmed by developer Tomoya Asano. The team is known for developing the Bravely Default series, as well as Octopath Traveler, Triangle Strategy, the 2022 Live A Live remake, and most recently the Dragon Quest HD-2D remakes.

The Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake will come out on November 14, 2024 for the Nintendo Switch, PS5, and PC via Steam. Additionally, Square Enix announced that the Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake will appear in 2025.

After a brief appearance during the June 2024 Nintendo Direct, the latest FuRyu action RPG Reynatis received a demo available now on the Japanese version of the Nintendo Switch eShop. The demo or trial version is only available in Japanese and occupies 2.0 GB.

Moonstone Island Became My New Switch Obsession

When it comes to creature-collecting games, deck-building titles, and farming sims, the Nintendo Switch is my system of choice. I love having these games in my hands. Being able to play them on the couch or in bed. The portability is comforting. Moonstone Island gives me elements of all three on my Switch, and I've been absolutely consumed with playing it as much as possible. My game is even paused while I'm writing this piece.

For those unfamiliar with the game following its PC release, Moonstone Island involves a young alchemist who finished school and is about to set off on their own. Your goal is to spend a year learning and growing. After taking off from your family residence, your broom breaks apart and you crash on Moonstone Island. It's a floating island with a whole village on it filled with helpful individuals. You then can set up your new home there, or on an island nearby, and start exploring the floating landmasses, taming spirits, conquering the four seasonal temples, and fulfilling requests.

What makes Moonstone Island interesting is that a lot of concepts and ideas are being tossed at the wall, and I felt like I was free to engage with them in whatever way I'd like. It introduces farming right away for certain beneficial crops that are tied to taming Spirits, buffing or debuffing them, or fulfilling missions or seasonal temple progress, but you can also find these items via foraging on different landmasses. I could assist people with tasks, or ignore the ones that weren't starred and related to the story. There's a freedom to it that reminds me of the Rune Factory games once you really get settled and in the swing of things. What do I want to prioritize? Well, then go for it!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUknU8Xw4tc&ab_channel=NintendoofAmerica

I also didn't expect to enjoy the way Moonstone Island handles its creature capturing and raising as much as I did. It's more like you're crafting a deck of cards, rather than a team of monsters. Each one of the three is a third of the whole, with their decks influencing the course of things. Add a poison-type creature to your deck? You'll get DOT effects. Find a water type? That grants you healing and refresh abilities. Get an earth one? That might use attacks that deal bash damage to break down armor while also inflicting damage. It made me approach team creation differently, because it wouldn't be so much about dealing with weaknesses. (Though that is a part when I knew I'd head to certain islands or temples.) It was about effectively using the cards that played into my strategies.

And the thing about it is all of these Moonstone Island elements work so perfectly on the Switch. If someone leans heavily into the life sim elements, it is so easy to spend days farming on Moonstone Island and working alongside people. Especially if you get into the dating elements. The island exploration felt equally enjoyable in Handheld Mode. I loved spending a few in-game days getting the lay of the land once I had a glider, then picking up and playing when I had a chance. It also made it easier to fill up my Spirits research, when I was doing some grinding, because I felt I could truly pick it up and play when I wanted, going to an island I knew would have my "target," and then stepping away when I was done.

Moonstone Island feels like a perfect Switch fit, much like many other games in the genres it represents. Whether you're coming to it for the life sim and farming elements, the creature catching, or the exploring, it's just so much fun to play on a hybrid console that lets you pick up, play, and then take a break when needed.

Moonstone Island is available on the Nintendo Switch and PC

klab jojo's bizarre adventure game

KLab has announced a new online mobile game focusing on the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime series. It's working in partnership with Wanda Cinema Games, a studio with headquarters in Beijing. [Thanks, PR Times!]

KLab had initially announced a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure online mobile game back in 2020. However, due to complications with its development partner at the time, it was unable to move ahead with the project. However, with Wanda Cinema Games as a new partner, they're working to release the game in all countries (excluding Japan) some time in 2026. It's unknown why KLab doesn't plan on releasing it within Japan. However, its business model focuses on getting licenses from Japanese intellectual property owners and then releasing games based on them to an international market.

Since it's focused on the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime series, it will likely use that animation style for the characters. As well, it probably won't feature any parts or characters from the series after Stone Ocean. For reference, those are Steel Ball Run, Jojolion, and JOJOLands. Though Steel Ball Run and Jojolion never got animated adaptations (yet?), characters from those parts still appeared as playable characters in the fighting games.

A JoJo's Bizarre Adventure online mobile game is in development and will come out some time in 2026.

How To Avoid The Police In Murky DiversOne of the toughest parts of Murky Divers is attempting to avoid police detection, or worse police detainment. Your game can be completely ruined if you're caught by the police, so here's how to avoid them in Murky Divers. Murky Divers: How to avoid the police If you get a total of six stars in this co-op horror game, you're caught by the police and the game is over. If you're tired of racking up stars, you can avoid the police in Murky Divers by not leaving evidence after dives, bribing the police, and avoiding Police Submarines. If one of your friends dies on a dive, carry their body back to the ship. But if you end up leaving behind a body or two, you'll gain some stars.
