Aoni Production has removed Tooru Furuya from his roles as Sabo from One Piece and Amuro from Detective Conan. No information on replacement voice actors has come out yet. [Thanks, LiveDoor!]
In an apology and announcement on Aoni Production's home page (as of June 22, 2024), Aoni Production explained that it discussed the recent scandal involving Furuya's adultery with him. Because his behavior harmed the image of Sabo and Amuro, it asked him to step down from those two roles. He complied. At the end of the announcement, Aoni Production apologized to all fans of those two works, as well as the staff and cast.
At the end of the message, Furuya added his own apology. He stated that he caused a lot of trouble for people as a result of his actions. In order to make up for fans of the characters he voices and works they appear in, he decided to step down from the roles after a lot of thinking, saying that this is the only thing he can do to apologize to everyone.
For reference, the scandal refers to Furuya cheating on his wife with a fan of his work specifically as Amuro in Detective Conan. While they were going out, he used to speak with her while affecting the intonations of Amuro's character. During their time together, he pressured her into having unprotected sex, impregnated her, and then made her abort the baby. He also hit her during an argument once. Aside from Sabo and Amuro, Tooru Furuya also lost his role as an unknown character in Atlus's upcoming RPG Metaphor: ReFantazio.
More information on who will replace Furuya as Sabo and Amuro will appear in the future.

It's an exciting weekend! Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is live, giving us an excuse to head into the Lands Between and to the Land of Shadow. New challenges await, basically. So, as we all prepare to dive back in, let's each share what we consider our best Elden Ring build. Maybe it can help us with different ideas or to overcome certain bosses!
I'd been trying to move away from sword and board builds in soulslikes, but Elden Ring hit me with the double whammy of timed blocks and the gorgeous looking Sword of Night and Flame. It requires a big investment into a whole spread of stats which isn't ideal, but that's a price I'm willing to pay to shoot lasers AND fire waves. — Elliot
I feel like I need to preface this by apologizing before revealing that I am one of those players that dual wields the Moonveil and the Meteoric Ore Blade katanas. And when not throwing magic lasers from my sword and using gravity to destabilize enemies, I like to use a vast array of magic spells to keep enemies at bay. Or... just simply throw a laser beam for good measure. — Daniel
I am nothing if not predictable. Even in my attempts to play a Souls-esque game in a new way led me back to a Big Sword and Bigger Flips. Between the Ruin Greatsword, the classic Greatsword, the Royal Greatsword, and the Moonlight Greatsword: I found myself holding two colossal greatswords enchanted with ice as extra spice. That, combined with the intense poise damage from the jump attacks, made my journey through The Lands Between less Berserk and more Moe Szyslak. I gotta tell you, it was pretty terrific. — John

A new trailer for Zenless Zone Zero is out, focusing on Rina. As a reminder, Rina, or Alexandrina Sebastiane, is a member of Victoria Housekeeping.

The trailer stats with a scared-looking Bangboo wandering around a facility before Rina informs it of how it's in a forbidden area. As she lists off the rules about the area, she scares it so much that it passes out. Then, it shows off how Rina fights by puppeteering two little robots. It then ends with her acting like a normal maid to the Bangboo. However, despite her profession, she's a horrible cook.
Like other members of the Victoria Housekeeping faction, Rina is based on a combination between a normal housekeeper and a Western horror trope. In Rina's case, she appears to be a combination of ghosts and the idea of haunted puppets. Other members of Victoria Housekeeping include Corin, Ellen, and Von Lycaon. Of the housekeepers within this faction, it seems that Ellen is the only one who's willing to give Rina's cooking a try.
Zenless Zone Zero will come out on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices from July 4, 2024.

The thing about some of the Kemco RPGs that started out as mobile titles is that standard and premium versions tend to exist. The difference? You can pay to get bonuses from a season pass, access to some "cheats," or other extras that might streamline the experience. This is the case of Astrune Academy, which started out in that fashion, before heading to platforms like the Switch for a paid fee. The thing is, these extra optional effects helped me enjoy it more than I expected.
The premise behind Astrune Academy is that a number of young heroines named Elnatt, Mimosa, and Spica, are attending the academy mentioned in the title to develop their abilities. Because of certain circumstances regarding Elnatt transforming into a demon when she uses magic and instances, ones from different classes are all working together under the supervision of a professor named Sirius. Additional happenstances lead to Snow, another young sorceress, also joining the party. It ends up being a pretty typical JRPG romp. If you enjoy past Kemco and EXE Create RPGs, you know what you're getting.
What I appreciated was how while the elements you can tell were present in the original free version can be obvious, it is very easy to either take advantage of them or ignore them. I mean, yes, you'll see the exclamation marks in the in-game menu screaming you have unclaimed rewards or daily roulette spins available, but you don't have to go for any of them.
Of course, I did. I'm old. I play multiple games at a time for work. I like an occasional Kemco because they amuse me. I'm not above accepting a bonus if it helps me skip a little level-grinding. I'd take part in the daily roulette, since the bonuses there would help with character growth or would give me Star Stones for the other "paid" or "cheat" elements. When I managed to get the Meteor Prize of 300 Star Stones the first time, I invested in the MP Full Recovery Secret Room item. The second time it came around, I'd gotten enough stones from taking part in battles and accomplishing Missions (things you would normally do in the game) to pay for the Premium Pass. That unlocked bonuses and another Ice Spirit to use as a summon.
The thing about it is that it also paired well with other quality of life features. You can speed up battles and turn on auto-battle. You can turn up your walking speed. There's fast travel via standard methods and a "local warping" that lets you set one spot as a designated area. Before you head out into the world map for the first time, you get one pendant that greatly increases the encounter rate and another that eliminates them completely.
All of this means that Astrune Academy ends up being sort of my convenient Kemco JRPG for when I want something mostly lighthearted and not too complex. I have the option of making it easier on myself, thanks to the Switch paid version offering all these means of taking advantage of past additions. There's little to no stress on my part, and it makes it easier to enjoy the adventures of magical girls attempting to learn and do their best to help themselves and other people.
Astrune Academy is available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices.

The Pokemon Center in Japan will start selling a lamp that looks like Morelull. There's a motion sensor inside of it that will let it turn on by itself when someone walks by it.
The Morelull lamp from the Pokemon Center is life-sized. So if you decorate your room with them, it feels like you have Morelulls in reality. You'll be able to buy it from the online store from June 27, 2024. Meanwhile, the physical stores will have them from June 29, 2024. The Morelull Pokemon lights cost 13,200 JPY each, which is around $82.65.
Morelull is a Grass/Fairy type Pokemon that debuted in Generation VII, which was Pokemon Sun and Moon. It evolves into Shiinotic from level 24. Morelull looks like a little cluster of bioluminescent mushrooms. When it evolves into Shiinotic, its multiple mushrooms merge together to turn into one giant mushroom.
While the Morelull light is cute enough for a kid's room, its pricing might make it more suitable for an adult collector. Some other Pokemon goods from Japan suited for an older audience include kitchenware and household items based on Pokemon Concierge. Japanese snacks (kyogashi) based on Pokemon are also available from Kanshundo.
The Pokemon motion sensor LED Morelull lights will be available in Japan from June 27, 2024.

Seto Kaiba is undeniably the coolest character in the Yu-Gi-Oh anime. In fact, he stands out not only in that series, but also among all anime rivals in general. This is all because while he may seem like a simple character at first, he's actually quite layered.

What makes Kaiba so remarkable is his unwavering dedication to becoming the best at a card game. Going so far as ignoring the larger, fantastical conflicts surrounding him, he's focused in a way you can appreciate. While the other characters grapple with ancient pharaohs and dark shadow magic, Kaiba remains pretty much focused on Duel Monsters. His indifference to the absurdly world-ending calamities around him is genuinely refreshing. He acknowledges the craziness is happening, and he just doesn't care. The guy just wants to shuffle up and play some cards.
But it makes sense. Seto Kaiba's backstory in Yu-Gi-Oh adds depth to his character. As an orphan, he used his intelligence and skill at chess to secure his adoption by Gozaburo Kaiba. To Kaiba, this was effectively winning his freedom through sheer intellect and skill. This victory set the tone for his life, where mastering games became his path to success.
Kaiba's intense need to win is not just driven by ego, but by the understanding that winning is the only way he knows to move forward. His life has always been a series of high-stakes games. Victory is his means of survival and progression. This is why he needs to beat Yugi Muto.
Muto is not only Kaiba's first loss, but he also can't understand losing to a duelist he should beat on paper. Of course, it helps that Muto has an ancient pharaoh who is, like, stupid good at card games playing for him. Kaiba does it all on his own, like everything in his life. I mean, I know the point is that he needs to allow others to help him to be better. That's his whole Battle City arc. Still, if I was Kaiba, I'd be mad about it too.
Kaiba's softer side is most evident in his relationship with his brother, Mokuba. During the Duelist Kingdom arc, Kaiba's usually unyielding demeanor shifts when Pegasus captures Mokuba. For once, winning and pride aren't the only reason he's playing. To save Mokuba, Kaiba swallows his pride and faces Muto, needing to defeat him to challenge Pegasus.
Despite summoning the formidable Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Kaiba is on the brink of defeat. Kaiba's one-liners and ruthless wit are another highlight. His verbal sparring, especially with Joey Wheeler, is legendary. Although to be fair, at least early in the show, he really is a third rate duelist with a fourth rate deck.
Seto Kaiba's unwavering dedication to being the best duelist, his complex backstory, and his sharp wit make him the standout character in Yu-Gi-Oh! His ability to remain focused on his goals, even amidst the chaos of ancient magic and world-threatening stakes, is what sets him apart and cements his status as the coolest character in the series.
