The Riven remake is out now, already has a 95% rating on Steam

Playing Riven and Myst back in the day was an experience unlike anything else and is something that will probably never be repeated. As a verified old person who was there and even read the novels, it's impossible to understate the buzz and excitement these obtuse, confusing puzzle games caused. Whispered conversations in school corridors about what to do with levers, no guides or walkthroughs to help, just the collective minds of a bunch of nerdy children all bashing their heads against puzzles. It was a unique time and while it may never be seen again, there's a chance now to experience it in a different way as the stunning Riven remake has just launched.

Dystopika is 2024's best new city builder but no-one's playing it

Unfairness is one of the defining aspects of any good cyberpunk setting. Those living comfortably do so at the expense of the working masses, keeping a corporate boot on the neck of humanity. The real world, however, shouldn't be afflicted with such unfairness, but the rot does manage to creep in. One definitely unfair thing is the fortunes of Dystopika, a wonderful relaxing cyberpunk city builder which has received lashings of praise, but struggled to find an audience.

Try these games if you liked Baldur's Gate 3

What are the best games like Baldur's Gate 3? One of the best RPGs in recent memory, Larian Studios' BG3 surprised many with its nuanced, epic story of Cthulhu-like monsters infecting a party of memorable and diverse heroes with interdimensional magic worms. Based on the 5th Edition of Dungeons and Dragons, the third entry in this storied series, the computer role-playing game - or CRPG - provided dozens of hours of tactical spell-slinging, dice rolling, dialogue navigating, and gorgeous fantasy world exploring fun. And there's a genuine possibility that if you played more than once with so many branching narratives and awesome classes to try, you're likely hitting the hundreds of hours.

PK called it an instant classic in our Baldur's Gate 3 review. But what if you finished exploring Baldur's Gate, its surrounding areas, and another plane of existence or two besides? While there's nothing that, in our opinion, does it quite like BG3, there are more than a handful of games that check the most important boxes: great companion characters, exciting worlds to explore, and deep RPG game combat mechanics that we'll sure you'll love almost as much as adventuring through Faerun.

The best tank games on PC 2024

What are the best tank games on PC? Rolling into battle in a vehicle that weighs the same as ten elephants and can raze entire buildings with a single shot never gets old, but finding a tank game that delivers in every key area is not always easy. Sometimes, the thrill of vulnerability is vital to the whole experience: the agony of reloading, the snail's pace, and the fact that you're the enemy's priority target - and not a small one at that.

Just like the best war games, the best tank games are brilliant because they're all about making you, the player, feel both overpowered and invulnerable. But the tank in some of the best free PC games is also synonymous with tense firefights and immense claustrophobia. From hyper-realistic, control-laden sims to arcadey, point-and-explode shoot-'em-ups (and maybe even a sneaky anime RPG or two), there's a tank game for every type of player.

Supervive may be the reason I quit League of Legends

I've been playing League of Legends for far too long. It's the game that inspired me to get into news writing in the first place, and the one shining light during the darkness that the COVID-19 pandemic cast over the supposed 'best years of my life.' And yet, my relationship with it remains complex; at the moment, I just can't bring myself to love it like I used to. So, in its absence, my eyes wandered over to Supervive (formerly Project Loki), the all-new MOBA experience from Theorycraft Games. I've been watching its progress for the past few months and recently had the chance to take it for a spin myself. After hours of pure, unadulterated chaos, I can confirm it may be the game that finally steals me away from League.

Elden Ring's Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC yet hovers at Mixed in the blood-encrusted annals of the Steam user review consensus. As Nic wrote earlier in the week, a portion of the negative feedback is aimed at the expansion's difficulty, which is certainly a Thing To Hear after years of being told by kindly gamers that I only hand out low review scores because I can't press the buttons in the right order.

As publishers Bandai Namco have sweetly observed, struggling players are perhaps forgetting that you can raise your overall power level by gathering Scadutree Fragments, a system of collectibles designed to ensure a tough challenge even for endgame players, while giving you the option of effectively rebalancing the expansion through exploration. The downside there, as a few people have pointed out, is that some players don't want to hunt for collectibles before they can topple the bosses.

Nergigante Figure

Capcom announced the reissue of the Nergigante figure from their Capcom Figure Builder Creators Model series. This reprint edition of Nergigante is scheduled for delivery starting January 30, 2025. The figure is priced at 22,000 yen (approximately $152 USD). It is immediately available for pre-orders through the official e-Capcom store.

Nergigante, introduced in Monster Hunter World, is an elder dragon known for its fearsome spine-covered appearance. In the Monster Hunter 20th Anniversary Showcase, Nergigante was voted the second most popular monster in the Hunter's Choice popularity poll, just after Zinogre. A highlight reel of Nergigante was posted to their YouTube channel, showcasing the elder dragon's fierce presence.

You can watch it below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2UAemHTBwM

The figure, sculpted by Takayuki Higashi, depicts Nergigante perched atop a pillar from Elder's Recess, the location where most players encounter the monster. It measures approximately 320mm high (12.6 inches), 300mm wide (11.8 inches), and 280mm deep (11 inches), made from PVC and ABS materials.

You can take a look at the statue below:

In addition to the Nergigante, Capcom is also reissuing figures of other popular monsters such as Rathalos and Rathian. Pre-orders for the Nergigante statue are now open on the official e-Capcom website. Delivery is scheduled to start on January 30, 2025.

Lara Croft Dead by Daylight

Lara Croft from Tomb Raider is being added to Dead by Daylight, as revealed by Behaviour Interactive. She will be releasing on July 16, 2024, although a test build is available now through Steam.

The star of the Tomb Raider franchise, Lara Croft is the latest survivor being added to Dead by Daylight. Putting emphasis on the survivor label, her appearance is based on the 2013 reboot game, although without any of her weapons. It is unknown if skins based on earlier games will be added.

Lara's perks have also been revealed. Finesse will allow vaults to be 20% faster while healthy. Hardened reveals the killer's aura any time you would normally scream, after opening a chest or cleansing a totem. Finally, Specialist grants tokens that improve skill checks for generators. All these perks are named after elements of Lara's skill tree in recent games. Hardened and Specialist are named after the skill tiers in the 2013 reboot while Finesse shares its name with a skill from Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Lara Croft is one of many video game crossovers that have appeared in Dead by Daylight, although this is the first to not be based on a horror franchise. In addition to previous franchises such as Resident Evil, Silent Hill and Alan Wake, Behaviour Interactive have announced that Castlevania will also be added at a later date.

Dead by Daylight is out now for PC, PS5, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Switch. Lara Croft will be added to the game on July 16, 2024.

Nijisanji EN's Anime Expo Offerings. The Live concert and Wander Wonder World are cancelled.

The first-ever live Nijisanji concert in North America has been cancelled. Anime Expo 2024, originally going to hold the NIJISANJI EN SUMMER JAM on July 6th and a live concert, "Welcome to Wonder Wander World," on July 7th, has announced that both of these live events will no longer be happening.

The press release, coming from the official Anime Expo site, did not clarify exactly why the Nijisanji live concert was cancelled. This is not the first time Nijisanji has pulled out of a convention event. Nijisanji previously cancelled an event at OffKai Expo in May, where Vtubers Millie Parfait, Enna Aloutte, and Reimu Endou were supposed to be attending. The abruptness of this cancellation seems to be the main sticking point, with many people taking their laments to Twitter.

Nijisanji announcing that this first-ever live concert has been cancelled comes on the heels of a number of issues around Nijisanji's English Branch's decline and after the sudden departure of one of their talents, Selen Tatsuki.

While the Live concerts will no longer be happening, the NIJISANJI EN SUMMER JAM will be live streamed for free on the official Nijisanji Youtube Channel and according to Anime Expo, full refunds for the tickets will be offered and processed. In addition, Nijisanji has stated that they are working on special perks and offerings for individuals who purchased the tickets as an apology.

Anime Expo will be held from July 4 - July 7, 2024 in Los Angeles, California.

iBuyPower Releases Persona 3 Reload RDY Y60 PC

Back in November 2023, Hyte and iBuyPower teased a Persona 3 Reload Y60 PC case and RDY PC. Now, the item is available and shipping for $1,999. This could be a temporary price, as the official listing noted it is typically $2,249.

The particular PC iBuyPower is selling is a Windows 11 system with Intel Core i7, a GeForce RTX 4070 Super 12GB video card, a 2TB SSD, and 32GB ram. It also comes with an iBuyPower RGB gaming keyboard and optical mouse. A Persona 3 Reload Fool Arcana card in metal tin is also included.

It is possible to get just the Persona 3 Reload Y60 PC case. That is at Hyte for $229.99. Its bundle comes with a Fool Arcana Tarot card, like the one appearing in the game, in a metal tin with imagery from the title on it. That started shipping in February 2024. The company also sold a number of keyboards and mouse pads with designs and art from the game as well. However, only the bonus tin comes with the PC model iBuyPower is selling.

Persona 3 Reload is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. The Persona 3 Reload RDY in Y60 case is on sale now as well.

Radiant Tale: Fanfare is a delightful follow-up to the original otome game and really relies on you loving the characters.

Sometimes, an Idea Factory and Otomate's fan disc follow-up for an otome game does something more than just offer epilogues and side-stories for major characters. There are times when there will be entirely new routes. Radiant Tale: Fanfare is a perfect example, and it means the game is more solid because it adds additional love interests alongside the returning crew.

There are essentially three parts to the Radiant Tale: Fanfare otome game, but the bulk (and best) of it is split between epilogues with Ion, Paschalia, Radie, Vilio, and Zafora and an entirely new epilogue story that involves actual dedicated routes for Jinnia and Liyan. Alest and Colivus have some moments in the new storyline that takes place after a common route where Tifalia doesn't end up with anyone as well, but Jinnia and Liyan's stories are much more extensive. Which is a bit of a shame when it comes to Alest, because he's quite fun!

Anyways, in the case of the returning bachelors, we're getting a chance to follow up with Tifalia after she's already (mostly) established with the five romance options from the original Radiant Tale otome game. Generally, I feel like they're mostly solid. Everyone tends to stay in-character, and the stories end up being a bit varied. I didn't expect Tifalia and Radie to be as committed as they are already by the time their extra story rolled around, but I guess it makes sense given their closeness in the original title. In fact, I generally liked all the storylines, and the fan disc made me appreciate Paschalia a bit more than I did in the original.

However, I truly feel like the highlight of Radiant Tale: Fanfare is the additional storyline that gives Jinnia and Liyan full storylines with Tifalia. Liyan's is absolutely fantastic and there's some great pay-off here, especially given all the teasing and moments in the original otome game. It is handled very well here, especially given the new plotline and role Tifalia plays once CIRCUS is done. The execution honestly makes me question even further why he wasn't a part of the primary cast to begin with. As for Jinnia, I didn't honestly expect to want to romance him, but his storyline is just as strong as Liyan's. He's hilarious and there are wonderful moments between him and Tifalia. In fact, I felt like Jinnia and Liyan's routes in the fan disc might have felt stronger and more well-thought out than Paschalia's, Ion's, and Zafora's in the base game, and I really liked Ion as a character.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZ8A7qsTH6A&ab_channel=AksysGamesOfficial

All of the stories are really quite fun to read and go through. The localization is great. I'd say it's especially fun in the new storyline with Jinnia and Liyan, as both characters are such strong personalities and really steal the spotlight. However, the other side stories are fun too. I wouldn't say I'm as big of a fan of the interludes, which feature characters discussing amongst themselves briefly, but they're okay. Also, as you'd expect from a follow-up to Radiant Tale, the CGs are bright, vibrant, and often rely upon fairy tale ambiance. They look quite good.

Really, the only downside is that the original otome game is required reading for Radiant Tale: Fanfare. There is no way you can go into this without having experienced the original adventure. The new epilogues for the main bachelors rely upon the past experiences with Tifalia. The new storyline picks up after the end of that and with her working on a new task for the royal family, so you will be lost if you don't know why the event she's working on is even happening. Still, the first game is very good and worth playing, so get to it?

Radiant Tale: Fanfare is a delightful follow-up to the original otome game and really relies on you loving the characters. The entirely new epilogue storyline with Jinnia and Liyan as the main love interests feels like one of the best and most refreshing parts of this new adventure. However, the additional stories with Tifalia in established relationships with the original five characters also does well with building up on those stories. If you enjoyed the original, it's worth returning for this sequel.

Radiant Tale: Fanfare will come to the Nintendo Switch on June 27, 2024

Krile Becomes a NPC Avatar in FFXIV Trust System

Now that Square Enix released the 7.0 and Dawntrail FFXIV patch notes, we know that Krile will be a Trust system NPC avatar. She will be available after the update, but only after people play through the MMORPG's story to a certain point.

Krile is a Lalafell and member of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn in FFXIV. She first appeared in the game following the Heavensward expansion and was part of the Students of Badesion. Once the patch goes through and 7.0 and Dawntrail are around, people can unlock her as a Trust System NPC avatar after going through the main scenario. She'll join fellow FFXIV Trust System NPC avatar Scions like Alisaie, Alphinaud, Estinian, G'raha Tia, Thancred, Urianger, and Y'shtola. She, like all NPC avatars, will also be able to get new glamours and reach the level 100 cap after the update.

As a reminder, Krile will get a new job in FFXIV once Dawntrail debuts. We saw in the full trailer for the expansion that she will become a Pictomancer. This is the entirely new magical ranged DPS job that any player can become, provided they hit level 80. Previously, the character was a Conjurer.

In addition to bringing up Krile, we also know about other inclusions and updates thanks to the 7.0 patch notes. For example, Estate Holder Rights are coming for those who own houses.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Dawntrail expansion will arrive on July 2, 2024. Early access kicks off on June 28, 2024.

Dragon Quest Carnival in Minatomirai Yokohama Japan will have special exhibit for Dragon Quest III HD-2D remake

Dragon Quest is one of the most famous video game franchises in Japan, and Dragon Quest III holds a further distinction as the most famous entry in the country. A couple of companies across the country have announced plans to hold new events following the reveal of Dragon Quest III's HD-2D remake at the June 2024 Nintendo Direct.

Square Enix—the video game series publisher—will hold the Dragon Quest Carnival in Minatomirai, Yokohama from July 20, 2024, until August 18, 2024. The company will set up a special exhibit to celebrate the announcement of the Dragon Quest III remake at the Sky Garden on the 69th floor of Yokohama Landmark Tower. The venue will also include a photo spot featuring famous monsters like the Slimes.

Meanwhile, the Nijigen no Mori amusement park on Awaji Island is celebrating the third anniversary of the Dragon Quest Island attraction zone, which launched in May 2021. The anniversary event was originally slated to run from April 26, 2024, until June 30, 2024. But after Square Enix revealed the Dragon Quest III remake, the theme park's company decided to extend the event's duration for a whole month until July 31, 2024.

Even though Square Enix also revealed new HD-2D remakes of the first two Dragon Quest entries at the Nintendo Direct, these Japanese events will focus on Dragon Quest III as it is the most popular mainline entry in Japan.

ITMedia NetLab held a Japan-exclusive popularity poll covering the eleven mainline Dragon Quest entries available as of March 2024, and Dragon Quest III topped the ranking with 392 out of 1683 votes. Meanwhile, Dragon Quest II ranked in seventh place, while the first game could only get tenth place out of the eleven games.

The HD-2D remake of Dragon Quest III will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC simultaneously worldwide on November 14, 2024.

7.0 FFXIV Housing Changes Include Estate Holder Rights, Ward Classifications

The preliminary 7.0 and FFXIV Dawntrail patch notes went over housing changes, with both Estate Holder Rights and Ward Classification taking effect after the update. These will appear alongside other quality of life adjustments tied to the housing lottery and furnishings.

The Estate Holder Rights Housing system in FFXIV will let you remove and block people from your home. How it works is if the Free Company Master, private owner, or a secondary rightsholder is there when someone they don't want around is, a player can opt to click on them to make them a "Barred Character." They will then be added to someone's personal Barred Character List for 10 days and unable to enter your estate. These can be then adjusted in the Estate Holder Rights to determine who the rightsholder to a property is and who can adjust the banned visitors list.

As for the FFXIV Housing Ward reclassifications, these only apply to certain worlds. In North America, the Dynamis Data Center wolds Cuchulainn, Golem, Halicarnassus, Kraken, Maduin, Marilith, Rafflesia, and Seraph are affected. In Europe, Chaos' Phantom and Sagittarius and Light's Alpha and Raiden will experience changes. The new Wards and land purchase eligibility designations will be as follows starting on June 29, 2024:

  • Wards 1-6: Free Companies
  • Wards 7-20: Free Companies/Private Buyers
  • Wards 21-24: Private Buyers
  • Ward 25: Free Companies
  • Wards 26-29: Free Companies/Private Buyers
  • Ward 30: Private Buyers

People who are taking part in the Housing Lottery will also see reminders on estate placards that aren't the one they bid on noting they already have a pending entry at another place.

Finally, there will be an array of new furnishings in FFXIV. Some are from the Furnishing Design Contests held in 2019 and 2022. Others are just generally new and original.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Dawntrail expansion will arrive on July 2, 2024. Early access kicks off on June 28, 2024.

Best Seals Incant Scaling In Elden Ring (1)Like many things in Elden Ring, Seals and Incantation Scaling can be confusing. There are 12 Seals in Elden Ring and in this guide, you'll learn what the best one is for you. How to increase Faith spell damage in Elden Ring When it comes to dealing more Faith damage, there are two stats you want to keep in mind: leveling up your Seals and Faith.
