Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Producer Yoshinori Kitase, Director Naoki Hamaguchi, and Battle Director Teruki Endo will be attending Otakon 2024 for its 30th anniversary. This marks the first time these creators will visit Otakon. The announcement was made on Twitter.

Otakon, known for celebrating Asian pop culture, will host Kitase, Hamaguchi, and Endo. It is unknown how involved the creators will be when present at the event, which runs from August 2-4, 2024, in Washington, D.C. The official site doesn't yet list a Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Otakon 2024 panel for them, but that should be updated on the schedule in the coming weeks.
For those new to the series, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a sequel and remake of the original FFVII, offering a fresh narrative while paying homage to the classic. It involves three parts, though only the first two are out now. FFVII

HoYoVerse announced an upcoming collaboration with clothing brand M.Rage. You'll be able to get jackets featuring Silver Wolf and Acheron from Honkai: Star Rail, with pre-orders opening on July 1, 2024.
As a note, while M.Rage does offer international shipping, it's not available for all of its products. This is likely due to restrictions on licensing, much like how Good Smile Company doesn't deliver to Europe. For its Honkai: Star Rail products, it can only deliver to Canada and the United States.
Both the Silver Wolf racing jacket and the Acheron bomber jacket cost $190 each. The Acheron jacket features motifs from the character (the red slash, the tattoo on her leg), the 5-star denotation, pictures of her Traces, and the artwork of her from the Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.1 promotional picture. Silver Wolf's is a little less busy. It includes artwork from Incessant Rain on both the front and back. Incessant Rain, for reference, is Silver Wolf's 5-star signature Light Cone. You'll be able to try on the jackets at Anime Expo on July 5, 2024.
Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. The M.Rage Acheron and Silver Wolf jackets from Honkai: Star Rail will be open for pre-order from July 1, 2024 and will ship out some time in late October 2024.

Capcom announced that it released a limited-time free trial for Dragon's Dogma 2. Players interested in the new action-RPG from Hideaki Itsuno and crew will be able to experience up to two hours of the game for free.
On Capcom's official Twitter account, the company announced both that the free trial was live for those who would like to give Dragon's Dogma 2 a taste and that the game would be going on sale. It is 20% off on Steam, bringing the price down to $55.99.
The trial itself is also only available for a limited time. It will end on July 17, 2024 for PS5 users. Xbox Series X and PC players can take part until July 18, 2024.
Capcom also recommended that, for players to get the most out of their time, the company suggested getting the Dragon's Dogma 2 Character Creator & Storage app beforehand. This keeps the demo's playtime from being devoted to creating an Arisen and Pawn.
Capcom revealed that Dragon's Dogma 2 sold 2.5 million copies after launch earlier in 2024, bringing the series' lifetime sales to over 10 million copies. The success of it caused Capcom to favorably revise their earnings forecast.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is available on the PS5, Xbox and PC. The Free Trial lasts from until July 17, 2024 for the PS5 and until July 18, 2024 for the Xbox Series X and PC.

HoYoverse's latest action RPG, Zenless Zone Zero, is set for release on July 4, 2024, and in a Game Watch interview Producer Zhenyu Li shared how Devil May Cry and Evangelion influenced it. He also offered insights into the game's development. [Thanks, Game Watch!]
Li discussed the pressures of developing Zenless Zone Zero, highlighting his concerns about creating an engaging experience for players and meeting their expectations. He also noted that the early development of Zenless Zone Zero was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, which presented various challenges. He noted that also pushed the team to innovate and adapt.
Li specifically mentioned that the stylish combat and fluid action mechanics of Devil May Cry influenced the game's battle system, aiming to provide a similar sense of intensity. As a longtime fan of Evangelion, Li drew inspiration from its complex narrative and character depth, striving to incorporate these elements into the Zenless Zone Zero world-building and character development. He also stated that he takes cues from Western comics and art, studying a wide selection of works when working on projects.
Regarding the game's character roster, Li revealed that Nicole Demara is his favorite character. She is an A-rank Agent tied to the Cunning Hares faction. She's an Ether unit who will always be available in the gacha.

A new key visual has come out for Fate/stay night Remastered, featuring art from Takashi Takeuchi. More information on the game will appear at the FGO Fes 2024 event on August 3, 2024.
Pre-orders are not open yet. As a reminder, the upcoming remastered version of Fate/stay night will be the first time that a Western audience gets to experience the game with an official English localization. The game was never available with an official English translation, not even after its various ports onto the PS2 or PS Vita.
The new key visual shows the three main heroines of the game: Saber, Rin, and Sakura. Behind them, you can see a side profile of Shirou. As mentioned earlier, Takashi Takeuchi (co-founder of Type-Moon and character designer for its main properties) drew the key visual. Hirokazu Koyama, who has worked on multiple Fate/Grand Order characters among his work at Type-Moon, helped to color and finish up the piece as well.
For those who will be at FGO Fes on August 3, 2024, there will be a talk stage focusing on Fate/stay night. Ayako Kawasumi (Saber) and Noriko Shitaya (Sakura) will be there as well. The stage will go on from 1:30 PM to 2:10 PM.
Fate/stay night Remastered will be available for the Nintendo Switch and Windows PC via Steam some time in 2024.

FromSoftware and Bandai Namco confirmed that there is currently an Elden Ring PC error that will prompt the "inappropriate activity detected" message to come up even if a person isn't cheating. It didn't explain how this happened, but did offer a suggestion as to how to fix the problem.
When the "inappropriate activity detected" message comes up, it means the anti-cheat systems for Elden Ring potentially detected cheating and, as a result, will keep people from playing online. However, this has been an issue before wherein the PC version of the game will prompt the message, even when someone is playing as they should. For example, Bandai Namco noted it was an issue after 1.06.
The official announcement, which you can read below, recommended someone goes through the process of verifying Elden Ring's files to fix the problem. To check this, right click on the game in your Steam library and head to Properties. When in this menu, go to Installed Files. The third option, below Browse and Backup Game FIles, will be Verify Integrity of Game Files. Select that. Once that is done, try running the game to see if the issue is fixed.
The last patch for Elden Ring didn't include a fix for this issue. However, 1.12.22 did do some new calibrations regarding Shadow Realm Blessings.
Elden Ring and its Shadow of the Erdtree DLC are available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Konami announced new Metal Gear Solid merchandise, including a new vinyl collection featuring soundtrack songs from across the series. The new items came up during Konami's Metal Gear Production Hotline stream, alongside news about the upcoming remake.
The main announcement when it came to new merchandise was the reveal of Metal Gear Solid: The Vinyl Collection, in partnership with Laced Records. This six-disc collection features 53 soundtrack songs from the Metal Gear Solid series, along with a collection of official arrangements. These tracks include a range of themes, from the original Metal Gear all the way to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. This collection is available to pre-order now from Laced Records and the Konami Shop, with each store offering exclusive colored discs. The collection will cost $130 from Laced Records and $139.99 from the Konami Shop.
In addition, a smaller collection, Metal Gear Solid: Vinyl Selections, will release alongside it. This is a 2-disc set featuring only 18 tracks. This is also available to pre-order and will cost $38 from Laced Records and $49.99 from the Konami Shop.

Studio SO-TA has revealed that it will produce and sell miniature figures modeled after the numerous Living Jar creatures from Elden Ring. The figures will be available in two types: Capsule toys and Box toys.
The collection will generally consist of five small Living Jar figures that stand at around 3 cm (~1.18 in) tall with removable lids. The figures will depict the Living Jars in various poses, and one of them will also be modeled after Soldjars of Fortune Ashes. The small sizes will make them posable with other miniature figures, such as the Nendoroids of the Vagabond and Ranni.
The box toy versions of the figures are immediately available for pre-orders for a limited time. People can opt to buy the regular set that may come with a random card and a rare miniature Exalted Flesh for ¥3,960 (~$24.60).
Studio SO-TA also offers a limited edition that includes an 8 cm (~3.15 in) tall Iron Fist Alexander figure at ¥7,500 (~$46.60). However, the studio is only able to accept orders from domestic addresses, as it cannot ship the items outside Japan.
The studio will also release capsule toy versions of the figures in November 2024. Once the items have appeared in Gashapon machines, people will be able to spend 500 yen to get one of the five small figures at random.
The Elden Ring Living Jar figures will be available in November 2024. Studio SO-TA will close the pre-order window for the Box toy versions on July 23, 2024.

Hideo Kojima is not involved with the development of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. The confirmation came during a Q&A during the Metal Gear Production Hotline event streamed online.
The producer of Metal Gear Solid Delta, who is Noriaki Okamura, took questions from the audience about the remake, with the first being about Hideo Kojima and other original staff. While Okamura stated that he would love Kojima and other members of the original team to be involved, they've all moved on to other projects. However, he did confirm that the entire original team for the original Snake Eater would be credited in the final game, in the same way the original teams were credited for the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection.
A later question confirmed that some of the original Snake Eater team members were working on Metal Gear Solid Delta. These staff members were not confirmed by name, however.
Okamura also revealed that Virtuos were working with Konami on the remake, due to their experience with Unreal Engine 5. Virtuos previously worked on Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster and Switch ports of games such as XCOM and Nier Automata. They also provided support for Horizon Zero Dawn and its sequel.
While he is not involved with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Hideo Kojima does have a few projects of his own in the works. He is currently working on a sequel to Death Stranding and a mysterious horror game named O.D. for Xbox.

When a new update and expansion launches for an MMO like Final Fantasy XIV, problems can also come up. As of the June 28, 2024 early access launch of FFXIV Dawntrail, Square Enix confirmed it is aware of multiple known issues with the expansionand 7.0 and offered insights on how to deal with them.
The first of the three issues has to do with HUD currency settings. Specifically, it has to do with the Allagan Tomestone of Comedy. It was removed as an option ahead of the 7.0 patch for FFXIV. So if people had it set as an option, it now shows as black in the HUD due to no longer existing. In the case of this problem, someone can fix it by updating the currency settings.
The second issue is also one that can be addressed by the player if they handle it a certain way. If someone responds when you use the Tell subcommand, the original player's name won't come up. In the Lodestone announcement, Square Enix said to use the text command.
The third known issue for FFXIV Dawntrail and 7.0 has to do with the UI and characters now showing up. Again, Square Enix noted that this is a problem that could potentially be fixed on the player's end if they are playing on a computer. It said to try only running the MMORPG. However, in the case of those playing on a console or who still experience the issue, they will need to wait for the developer to address the problem.
One of the most problematic of the known issues in FFXIV Dawntrail and 7.0 has to do with the Syrcus Tower Alliance Raid. Those who challenge it may be unable to complete it through no fault of their own. This is an older raid from the 2.0 series of patches, and the problem comes up when facing the third boss Amon. Square Enix didn't explain how this can occur, and some people might not encounter the issue.
Syrcus Tower isn't the only situation with issues. The Alliance Raid is also victim to a problem where ice-related mechanics aren't working. The Delubrum Reginae (Savage) Duty, The Minstrel's Ballad: Shinryu's Domain Trial, and Dragonsong's Reprise (Ultimate) Ultimate Raid are all affected by this bug.
Finally, the last known problem for the moment is limited to the Xbox Series X version of the MMORPG. There's currently a freezing problem. While it can happen in apparently any areas, Square Enix specifically also cited city Aetheryte points as being an issue.
Final Fantasy XIV and its Dawntrail expansion are now in early access on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X and PC, and the full Dawntrail launch starts on July 2, 2024.

Details about the voice acting for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater have been revealed, particularly in regard to how the radio calls will be handled to address new controls. These new details were revealed as part of the Metal Gear Production Hotline event that was streamed online by Konami and confirmed original voice acting will be reused.
Metal Gear Solid Delta producer Noriaki Okamura was asked about voice acting during the Q&A portion of the stream. He confirmed that the remake would make no story changes, meaning the original voice lines were being retained from the original Snake Eater. This will apply to both the Japanese and English voice acting.
The only voice acting changes that will be made in Metal Gear Solid Delta will be adjustments to lines related to controls in radio calls. Due to changes to how controls work in the remake, these lines will need to be changed to reflect those changes. Okamura confirmed that all the original actors will be brought in for both English and Japanese to re-record these lines. For actors who were unavailable to re-record their lines, new lines will be constructed using their original recordings, with full permission.
While the details of how the voice acting will be handled are new, we already knew the original cast would be returning. The gameplay trailer shown off at the June 2024 Xbox Games Showcase featured many of these cast members prominently, including David Hayter's performance as Naked Snake.

The Pokemon Company has revealed a new extensive Pokemon merchandise lineup inspired by the Kitakami Village. It will actually release the items in its Japanese physical and online Pokemon Center outlets in early July 2024. That will be around the time Japan is preparing for summer festivals across the country.
The new collection will be mostly based on the Japanese-themed Kitakami Village that appeared in The Teal Mask DLC for the Nintendo Switch games Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The items will also primarily feature the following five Pokemon: Poliwag, Vulpix, Dipplin, Pecharunt, and Ogerpon.

Bandai Spirits revealed that it is working on a new Robot Spirits action figure based on the IB-C03: HAL 826 piloted by Handler Walter from Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. The company will release this figure worldwide in November 2024 with a price tag of 19,250 yen (~$120).
The AC unit will come pre-built with an overall height of around 15cm (~5.9 inches). The set will also include extra equipment like the shoulder shield and missile pod that can be optionally removed. In addition, the owner will also be able to extend the rifle and arm blade just like in the actual game.

Handler Walter is not the only Armored Core VI character to have his AC made into a Robot Spirits action figure. Bandai Spirits had previously revealed another action figure based on Ayre's IB-07: Sol 644 in the same series. The latter will be available earlier in September 2024. Other than action figures, Bandai Spirits is also working on 30 Minutes Missions model kits based on AC units from the same game.

Medicos revealed that it will release a new lineup of NieR Automata merchandise of characters at Don Quijote store outlets across Japan in mid-July 2024. These new items will feature the anime versions of A2, 2B, and 9S in casual attire.
The items' prices will range from ¥880 (~$5.50) to ¥7,700 (~$48). The highlights of the lineup go to the tapestry posters, which will be available in two sizes: B2 and the characters' real-world heights.
