If Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree's first patch was meant to make the DLC easier, this second one is out for blood again. Effectively, patch 1.12.3 issues a host of balance changes that weaken a bunch of Shadow of the Erdtree's new weapons and Ash of War skills, including a popular build that players were using to…

It's normal for an MMO's peaks and valleys in player counts to correlate with expansion releases and the fallow years in between.      New Elden Ring mod turns it into a super tough DnD style RPG

Shadow of the Erdtree has been out for a couple of weeks now, and while some of us (read: me) are still struggling through it, others have powered through and are twiddling their thumbs, waiting for the next challenge Elden Ring has to offer. While developer FromSoftware has said no more DLC will be coming, a new mod looks like it will overhaul the game to such a degree it may as well be a sequel.

Immersive automation sandbox game Factorio dates sequel-sized DLC

When it comes to sandbox automation games, Factorio has long been the go-to for that ultimate sense of intricate design, offering a wealth of tools to build out vast industrial complexes, suck up every natural resource in sight, and ultimately launch rockets into space. Now, after much waiting, developer Wube Software finally tells us when we'll be able to continue our journey, as the Factorio Space Age DLC lets us head out across multiple planets.

Satisfactory 1.0 now has a date and a surprising new feature

They call it Satisfactory for a good reason. The factory and automation builder  is one of the most satisfying PC games I've played. Nothing quite beats the feeling of looking out over your whirring industrial sprawl, knowing you've put it all together yourself. Offering a more approachable entry point to the genre than the likes of Factorio, Coffee Stain's excellent open-world sandbox game is finally ready for full release, and there's even a special addition coming to celebrate its 1.0 launch on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

If Frostpunk or Cities Skylines 2 wear you out, try Dawnfolk right now

I love a good city-building game, but I often get a bit overwhelmed with the sheer amount going on. People to please, resources to gather, politics to consider, sometimes even enemies to fight — the likes of Cities Skylines 2 and Frostpunk slowly take their toll. Where can you get free Steam keys? Everybody loves getting things for free, and we at PCGamesN are the last people to fly in the face of that tradition. Let's get one thing straight. By free Steam keys, we don't mean free games on Steam, as that's a whole different list. No, we mean keys for Steam games you'd otherwise have to pay for. This can mean DLC for existing games you may own already (including free ones) or older games given away to promote a newsletter or a service.

However, if you want to get some incredible indie games or, if you're particularly lucky, some of the best PC games of all time, then check out the list below. It's difficult to keep track of which events are currently running and if there are any new ones coming soon, so here's a schedule for all current and upcoming Genshin Impact events.

There are usually a number of Genshin Impact events running simultaneously, and they aren't just in-game events. HoYoverse often launches a web event every update, which gives players a chance to learn about the latest Genshin Impact characters through an interactive story told through a web browser. Similar to some of the best RPG games, the rewards for completing events in Genshin Impact range from in-game items like primogems and mora, to real life prizes like mouse mats and plushies.

The developer of the anime game always keeps its fans in the loop with regular livestreams and social media updates, so you can plan in advance where you want to spend your hard-earned primogems.

With a two to three-week turnaround for banners, the roster of Genshin Impact characters is always changing, and the free PC game regularly introduces two new characters to wish for. Every limited-time character banner - or event wish - contains a five-star character and three four-star characters with increased drop rates. There's also a Genshin Impact weapon banner, which runs alongside each character banner and changes weapons every update.

It's Sokoban! A game whose name I recognise as shorthand for this type of puzzle, and yet have never seen. It's also a genre I'm not overly fond of, preferring puzzles I can sometimes get through by intuition (Spring Falls), brute force (every switch-the-lights puzzle ever), or entering chaos mode (real life).

But I like Isles of Sea and Sky. From starting it almost on a whim, I was playing and figuring things out with zero fuss and no overt tutorialising pretty much immediately, and from there suddenly found that several hours had breezed by without frustration or boredom.

But, oh no, a wink to real life gambling could be interpreted as a transparent acknowledgement of the gacha genre's psychological claw machine, which is maybe why the developers decided the scratchcard stall should have a sole employee: a very cute dog.

It's a "fast-paced, juggle-based" 2D metroidvania that stands apart for a couple of reasons. Firstly, your character's magic sword is also your means of illumination, and the levels are gloomy. And secondly, the whole "juggle-based" thing.

I'm not sure if this applies in other countries, but in England we have this thing where you'll stroll down some random suburban street without a care in the world, and stumble on a house that has been absolutely overrun by garden gnomes. A house on which garden gnomes have either settled, like the avian hoodlums in Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, or from which they have erupted, like the malignant mushrooms of Annihilation.

A hundred clay and plaster eyes catch yours, unblinking; a hundred figures seemingly freeze in the act of pushing a toy wheelbarrow or smoking a pipe. The tune you were whistling dies in your throat as you hurry past into the reassuring shadow of the relatively gnomeless bungalows to either side. Gardening sim Horticular is like that, but with an even greater sense of contrast, because it asks you to resettle a desolate planet. There is no generic urban scenery to hurry onto, here. There is only bare, cracked earth. And the gnomes.

Free FFXIV Free Game Time Being Distributed Due to Dawntrail Bugs

Square Enix and FFXIV Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida announced free game time will be doled out to all players as a result of Dawntrail bugs and issues. Depending on the platform, people will get between two and ten extra days added to their subscription starting on July 10, 2024.

The difference in free FFXIV game time due to Dawntrail varies based on platform. People who play on the PS4, PS5, or PC will only get two extra days. This is essentially compensation for congestion issues. Part of it is to also make up for the issue that kept some PS4 and PS5 people from being able to log in or play. Someone needs to own the full version and have it registered to their account and have an active subscription that was live on July 4, 2024.

People playing on an Xbox Series X who own the full game and were subscribed as of July 4, 2024 will get 10 days of FFXIV free game time following the Dawntrail problems. This is because they are entitled to the two days everyone will get for the above congestion issues. However, since the MMORPG is freezing on this console, anyone playing on this platform who meets the requirements gets an additional eight days.

This is just one measure to help address feedback and make up for FFXIV and Dawntrail bugs and issues. Another involves a series of job adjustments. Between 7.01 and 7.05, people will see changes made to classes like the Astrologian, Black Mage, Monk, Pictomancer, and Viper.

Final Fantasy XIV and its Dawntrail expansion are available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Genshin Impact Natlan trailer

Developer HoYoverse shared the 4.8 Genshin Impact release date and released two new trailers previewing the upcoming nation of Natlan, as well as content coming in the July 17, 2024 update. Natlan appears to be inspired by South American and Indigenous Australian cultural motifs, while 4.8 will see players enter the toy-themed dreamworld of Simulanka.

The trailer for Natlan shows a new, possibly Geo element, character being chased by bandits through the map. Along the way, she encounters two other characters, one who is likely of the Hydro element and rides a shark and another who could be an Anemo or possibly Dendro unit.

The trailer for the Genshin Impact 4.8 update, on the other hand, shows off the previously teased Fontaine perfumer Emilie and the environment of Simulanka, which is planned to be a time-limited map. Kirara and Nilou are also set to get new outfits in the update, which is titled "Summertide Scales and Tales." Kirara's will be available to earn for free while Nilou's will be paid.

You can watch the Genshin Impact preview trailer for Natlan here:

And the trailer for Version 4.8 below:

In June 2024, a trailer for new character Sigewinne appeared ahead of her debut in Genshin Impact itself. Pre-orders also became available for a new figure of Hu Tao.

There is currently no release date for the 5.0 Natlan update in Genshin Impact, but version 4.8 will arrive on July 17, 2024. The game itself is readily available on the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices.

To celebrate the announcement, Studio Orange released three pieces of Trigun official art of Vash, Wolfwood, and Knives. All three are High Noon at July images of the characters. Here's how those designs look:

In addition to the new Trigun Stargaze anime art, Studio Orange also shared more insight into the series' lore. At Anime Expo 2024, Takehiko Okishi and Yoshihisa Ueda shared insights into how Plants work in the series. Plants are what people on Gunsmoke use to survive and get energy.

There have been many chibi figures modeled after characters from the Persona series—especially the third, fourth, and fifth mainline entries. Good Smile Company had earlier released Nendoroids of Persona 5 characters. The company also revealed QSet+ figures featuring protagonists of the three aforementioned entries.

The PalVerse and PalVerse Pale figures of characters from Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Tactica are under production. Bushiroad will announce the release dates for the figures at a later time.
