This week was a huge one for new tech, with Samsung launching next-generation versions of the Galaxy Z Fold, Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Watch, and Galaxy Buds at its Unpacked event in Paris. But the real headline-stealers were the Galaxy Ring, Samsung’s first smart and health-focused ring, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra, Samsung’s retort to the mighty Apple Watch Ultra.
We’ve had some hands-on time with the Galaxy Ring, and with the new foldables and watches (there’s also the new Galaxy Watch 7), as well as trying out some of the new AI features – and suffice to say, Samsung’s tech ecosystem is looking stronger and smarter than ever.
It goes without saying that none of Samsung’s new devices will exactly be cheap, but while you wait for those products to hit the shelves on July 24 you might want to take the opportunity to grab some tech at bargain prices, as Amazon’s first Prime Day of 2024 is happening on July 16 and 17. We’re already seeing some excellent early Prime Day deals, so be sure to check out the round-ups linked below, and keep a weather eye on TechRadar over the weekend and into next week.
Happy deal hunting!

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 brings with it improvements in almost every area over its predecessor: it's faster, it has a main screen that's bigger and brighter, and of course it's brimming with AI features – click through to read our early impressions.
AI chatbots are continuing to battle for our attention and clicks, and Perplexity just added integration with the Wolfram|Alpha search and compute engine – bringing a whole host of features, from reasoning to math, that should have ChatGPT worried.
We're intrigued by a new survey that suggests Apple users are waiting longer and longer before upgrading their Macs and their iPhones – a trend that's perhaps explained by a perceived lack of compelling upgrades in the new devices coming out.
Keen to watch something new this weekend? For Apple TV Plus subscribers, quirky sci-fi drama Sunny is now available to stream, while new seasons of Vikings: Valhalla and The Serpent Queen come to Netflix and Hulu, respectively.
