Something I love about Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is the many layers of mechanics to dig into. While Call of Duty Warzone prepared for its big integration for Black Ops 6, fan-favorite map Rebirth Island was put on the substitute bench for a short while. Players have been eagerly awaiting its return to the map rotation, and earlier today their prayers were answered. However, after roughly three hours of being part of this week's Wazone playlist, Rebirth Island has been unceremoniously pulled from the FPS game due to a "map-specific issue."

Free Pacific Drive update adds a puzzling new mechanic to the survival game

2024 has been one hell of a year for survival game fans, but many follow the same formula - make a character, walk around harvesting resources, keep yourself fed, warm, and watered, and build bases. One game that dared to do something different was Pacific Drive, which makes a beat-up station wagon the star of a freaky, supernatural adventure. While it certainly had some kinks to iron out at launch, it's only gotten better throughout the year with a series of free updates. Now, in its latest patch, it adds a mysterious new threat to the Olympic Exclusion Zone, a puzzling new mechanic, and the ability to customize your garage alongside your car.

Forgotten But Unbroken combines XCOM, Company of Heroes, and brutal realism

XCOM 2 is one of the best games I've played, partly because of how it organically creates characterization and drama. Dialogue is sparse. Cutscenes are few. But the sheer ardor of every battle, the chaos of its turn-based, dice-roll combat, and the spontaneous moments of glory that result mean that I feel more committed to my team of blank-slate soldiers than I do to some of gaming's most defined and verbose protagonists. Combining the Firaxis formula with inspirations from Company of Heroes and Commandos, a new WW2 strategy game balances the player-driven narrative of XCOM with researched historical realism. This is Forgotten But Unbroken, and it's available right now.

LG's new OLED gaming monitor can run at 480Hz and 1440p at the same time

LG has just unveiled the Ultragear GX7 27GX790A, which is among the first gaming monitors to offer a massive 480Hz refresh rate at a 1440p resolution. We've seen several 500Hz+ gaming displays already, but these have had a 1080p resolution, so the move up to 1440p will mean a much sharper, super-fast image from this new LG OLED gaming monitor.

Most games don't meaningfully benefit from such ludicrously fast refresh rates, but the best gaming monitor options for games such as Counter-Strike 2, Valorant, Apex Legends, and Overwatch will all be those that can run essentially as fast as possible. And now, with this new LG panel, you'll get that speed as well as visual sharpness.

This incredible AMD Threadripper gaming PC was just rescued from the trash heap

If you're looking for a new PC, you might think the trash isn't the best place to get one. However, on Reddit a garbage truck worker found a gaming PC abandoned among the garbage. While it needed a little bit of TLC, the finder was able to bring it back to life, proving that one person's trash is another man's treasure, especially when there's a Threadripper involved.

Yes, that's right – this garbage PC came stacked with a 32-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X, a CPU that originally sold for just under $2,000, along with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. While the best gaming CPU market has moved on for gaming performance, the five-year-old 3970X is still a beast of a performer for multi-threaded tasks, and while the Nvidia graphics card is certainly showing its age, it's still fairly capable at 1080p, too.

It takes a special kind of entitled bellyacher to complain that you wanted a different game from a game that hasn't even been announced yet, and which may simply be an internet rumour. It's like the "glass half empty" mindset, but the bartender hasn't even taken your order and this might not even be a bar. Odds are you've wandered into the local antique shop. Well I, friends, am that bellyacher. Here I stand at the "bar", gesticulating wildly over my non-existent glass.

Rumour has it that they're making a Back 4 Blood 2 - but as I loudly explain to the bartender/antique shop owner, showering the cocktail measures/vintage Toby Jugs in spittle, I don't want a Back 4 Blood 2. Those interested in attending the event can sign up for the Capcom "Monster Hunter Club" to receive an alert once advanced tickets go on sale. However, you must have a Capcom ID in order to sign up. These tickets will be distributed through a lottery system.

Additionally, there are several types of tickets attendees can purchase. suikoden odessa character

Leading up to the release date of Suikoden I & II HD Remaster, the official X (Twitter) account for the game will show off a new character every day for over a hundred days The first day focuses on Odessa.

In Suikoden, Odessa is one of the default characters you can get in the game. She is an aristocrat who, upon seeing the corruption in her homeland, discards her status as a noble to form the Toran Liberation Army. In terms of her personality, she is a strong and determined woman who never gives up. Many of the fans have praised the official Twitter account's decision to start this Suikoden character countdown from Odessa due to her role in the story and the fact that she's not even one of the 108 Stars of Destiny.

Suikoden is a series that focuses on revolutions against the current sovereign state, with the protagonist having to recruit the 108 Stars of Destiny in order to do so. All of the games take place in the same setting, and so are chronologically connected. However, you don't necessarily need to play them all or in order to understand them. The series as a whole is loosely inspired by the Water Margin novel, which it shares the general premise with.

Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Run & Dunan Unification Wars will come out on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC on March 6, 2025.

square enix headset

Square Enix has released some new merchandise for Good Earphones/Headphones Day. Goods include a Dragon Quest gaming headset and Airpods Pro case covers.

In total, there are eight different items that you can purchase as part of this promotional. All of them will ship out in late September 2024. The most expensive item in this Square Enix promotion is the ATH-G1 gaming headset (Slime edition) from Dragon Quest X. It uses a light blue color that's reminiscent of the iconic Slime monster from the series, with a picture of a Slime on one ear and a pattern of Slimes on the other. This gaming headset costs 27,280 JPY ($176.30).

All of the other merchandise are case covers for AirPods Pro. These covers are only compatible with the first generation of them, so you need to make sure you have the right size. You can purchase covers for Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster and Kingdom Hearts, with all of the covers costing 4950 JPY ($31.99).

Good Earphones/Headphones Day is November 18 in Japan. This is because when you read the numbers for eleven and eighteen in a certain way, it sounds like you're saying "good ear." Of course, this is not an actual holiday or anything. Instead, it's more akin to how November 11 is Pocky Day (because the row of 1s resembles Pocky sticks) or how February 22 is National Cat Day.

The Square Enix Good Earphones/Headphones Day items will come out in late September 2024. They're exclusive to the Japanese e-Store.

genshin impact twitter

HoYoVerse announced that it will no longer announce in-game Genshin Impact events on X (formerly Twitter). Instead, it will only post these announcements on its official HoYoLab channels. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Events in Genshin Impact do not only include flagship events or recurring ones. This may also include information on banners and such. While HoYoVerse did not mention why it will move its updates for Genshin Impact off X and onto HoYoLab, this may have something to do with the amount of changes that Elon Musk has brought to the platform. Changes have included raising prices (which locked some companies and services out of API access) and AI training. In response to these and other changes, many users have left X for other social media platforms, such as Bluesky.

So far, only the Genshin Impact account announced that it will move to HoYoLab. The official X accounts for Honkai: Star Rail and Honkai Impact 3rd, for example, have been Tweeting normally. Time will tell if you'll have to receive all news for HoYoVerse games via HoYoLab.

Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. Xbox versions will come out on November 20, 2024, which is the same date that Version 5.2 will go live.

Preview- Beastieball Is Like Pokemon Mixed With Inazuma Eleven 1

I like seeing unconventional kinds of RPGs. Especially if it seems they have the potential to execute concepts well. Beastieball is a new creature-catching game along the lines of Pokemon, but at the same time it is also a sports RPG not unlike early Inazuma Eleven titles. The early access version of this title is actually beatable as-is, but it feels like there's still potential for it to grow even more ahead of its "end of 2025" launch window.

In Beastieball, we create a character who's absolutely loved beasties and the titular game played with them since they were a child. Our avatar and their best friend would even sneak into the preserve next to their hometown as kids to interact with the creatures. However, years later, the league is tearing down the natural habitat for fresh construction. Since the local team's standings fell so low, the only way to save the preserve is to become the town's new coach, build up a team capable of climbing the ranks by beating other towns' teams, and hopefully convince the league to leave the land alone.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MX2-7t2DSz8&ab_channel=KleiEntertainment

The Beastieball similarities to Pokemon are rather obvious. We're catching beasties in the wild. We train them. We send them into turn-based battles. They can even evolve. It's easy to hop in and feel comfortable with the formula.

However, even early on it plays with the ideas set forth in Game Freak games. For example, you can't just toss a ball at a beastie in Beastieball to catch them. You need to impress them during a match by performing certain actions. There's also the element of teamwork present. Beasties you have working and fighting at the same time will form relationships naturally as you play. So you can have them turn into friends or rivals, as an example, and have that affect gameplay.

The Inazuma Eleven element might not be as obvious to Beastieball players, given we didn't see most games in the series worldwide. At face value, both are RPGs tackling certain sports. For Inazuma Eleven, that's soccer. In Beastieball, that's volleyball. While Level-5's early games could feel a bit like RTS titles with turn-based execution of certain moves, Wishes Ultd is going for a more straightforward, turn-based RPG. Elements of volleyball are still there, from the passing and ensuring you block, receive, and send back shots. But it still feels unique.

As-is, you can go into Beastieball even in early access, know what you're going to get from this Pokemon and Inazuma Eleven type of take on creature catching and sports, and beat the game. It will likely even feel satisfying. I enjoyed it. I can see how it would benefit from some balancing and additional beasties, but the starting lineup seems quite strong.

Beastieball is now in early access on PCs via Steam.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure Fall Event Involves Pompompurin

There's a Days of Plenty fall event in Hello Kitty Island Adventure starting on November 17, 2024, and this time Pompompurin is a major player. The official art for it shows the character alongside Hello Kitty and the player avatars. This means there will also be new rewards to earn.

Here's the trailer for the fall event. It begins with Hello Kitty, Pompompurin, Pochacco, and two player avatars emerging from a pile of leaves. This will be a trend throughout the event, as you'll run through piles like these in-game to get items to trade at the Resort Plaza hub for new customization items for characters and cabins. We get to see some of these fall-themed items firsthand after that, with characters in decorated homes in the new outfits. We also get to see what the in-game leaf piles will look like, so we know how to spot them, and the stand where we can trade for new in-game merchandise.

  • OS: Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i3-540 or AMD Phenom II X4 940

The 5.2 Genshin Impact banners are a Chasca new one and Lyney rerun, and both feature new four-star Ororon.

HoYoVerse shared exact details about what to expect from the new Chasca banner and Lyney rerun banner in Genshin Impact. Both will launch on November 20, 2024. When they do, they'll also mark the first appearance of new four-star Genshin Impact character Ororon. Both banners run until December 10, 2024.

As is usual for the current five-star unit banners, they share four-star folks. So whether you pull on the Chasca "Piercing Shot's Crimson Wake" or Lyney "Conjuring Chiaroscuro" one, you will also see increased odds of getting Barbara, Ororon, and Sucrose. Chasca is a five-star Anemo unit and archer, while Lyney is a five-star Pyro character and archer. Barbara and Sucrose are both Catalyst users, with the former being a Hydro type and the latter Anemo. Ororon is also an archer, though he's Electro.

Since both the five-stars use bows, there is also a bow-heavy Epitome Invocation this time around. The two five-stars are Chasca and Lyney's signature weapons, which are Astral Vulture's Crimson Plumage and The First Great Magic. The four-star weapons appearing more frequently are The Bell claymore, the Favonius Lance polearm, Flower-Wreathed Feathers bow, the Flute sword, and Waveriding Whirl catalyst.

Right now, you can already experience an activity with Chasca. HoYoVerse kicked off a brief The Meaning of Flight web event. People who go through it can earn some Primogems and other materials that will make it easier to build that new character.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices now, and the Chasca and Lyney banners will appear alongside the Xbox release and 5.2 update on November 20, 2024.

New Shonen Jump Manga Series Are Bug Ego and Syd Craft

MangaPlus and Viz Media added two new Shonen Jump manga series, which are Bug Ego and Syd Craft: Love is a Mystery. Syd Craft debuted first on MangaPlus and Viz Media, as its first chapter launched on November 17, 2024. Bug Ego debuted on MangaPlus and Viz Media on November 18, 2024, with four chapters available on each service.

Bug Ego is interesting, as it is a series from One Punch Man's One and Shinobuna: Chiyo-chan creator Kiyoto Shitara. Makoto Hitsujiya and Takehiro Kokudo are classmates. Hitsujiya just transferred in and is teaching Kokudo "hacks" to get by, since he isn't well established and is sometimes bullied. In return, Kokudo starts teaching Hitsujiya about hacks that influence reality. However, we also get to see the consequences that can come from using them.

Meanwhile, Taishi Tsutsui worked on series like We Never Learn, Steins;Gate: Hiyoku Renri no Sweets Honey, and Esprit before the new Shonen Jump manga Syd Craft. As the title suggests, it is about Syd. He's considered a "great detective." When the first chapter starts, we see him solving a crime. However, once Syd is alone in his office, we realize the women he discovered was the murderer was also someone he had a crush on, and he's heartbroken that the dinner invite was just an alibi. He doesn't want to be a detective, but everyone around him ends up involved in situations that result in him discovering or dealing with terrible situations. Other major characters introduced include his assistant Elio Evelyn and rival, which is is the police department's Inspector Souffle Flamberry.

Prior to these new reveals, one of the last new series to join Shonen Jump were Shinobi Undercoverand Ichi the Witch. Both of those debuted in September 2024.

The next new chapter of Bug Ego will appear via these platforms that share Shonen Jump series on December 18, 2024, and the next chapter of Syd Craft debuts on November 24, 2024.

Move Into the Sun Haven Switch Version in November

Pixel Sprout Studios announced that Sun Haven will head to the Nintendo Switch on November 29, 2024. However, it won't be in every country right away. Initially, only countries in North and South America will sell it in their eShops. Confirmed ones are Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Columbia, Mexico, Peru, and the USA.

As in many farming games, Sun Haven features Switch players moving to a new land and getting a chance to run a farm, fight monsters, and find love with various love interests so you can raise a family. However, there are some differences. Magic is a major focus here, with different races and unusual abilities available to players and people around them. In addition to Sun Haven, you can visit three other towns. Your farm can have multiple houses. People can even opt to play alone or with others in the PC version, though the Switch version won't have multiplayer at launch. There is also no cross-save option, so you will need to start a new game at launch. However, it will apparently be caught up to the PC version 1.7.1 patch.

As a reminder of how it looks, here's the launch trailer.

This is one of multiple farming games to get a major update in 2024. In the case of Stardew Valley, the 1.6 update appeared on all platforms over the course of the year. We also saw Fields of Mistria enter early access on Steam and get a major patch on November 18, 2024. An Orange Season Switch port also appeared, though it has a number of problems.

Sun Haven is on PCs now, and it will come to the Nintendo Switch on November 29, 2024.

Sanrio Reveals Arrival of I Cinnamoroll Anime English Version

The I Cinnamoroll anime adaptation is about to become more accessible, as an English version will show up on one of Sanrio's official YouTube channels. The first episode isn't live yet, but there is a trailer that highlights some scenes from some of the over 50 ones available in Japan.

A start date for the anime's English run wasn't announced beyond Sanrio saying a new episode will air every Friday at 1pm PT/4pm ET. This means we could see the first one on November 22, 2024. That episode involved Cinnamoroll starting to do some sketching. It's about an older, more mature version of the character who enjoys life in a relaxed way.

Here's the first English trailer for the show:

While the episodes aren't in English, you can watch all of the Japanese I Cinnamoroll anime that aired so far on the official Cinnamoroll Sanrio account as well. It began airing in Japan in October 2023. The last episode to appear there was the 56th one, and it showed up on November 14, 2024. It is the first of a multi-part episode and involves the character heading to Kyoto for a trip.

You can watch that below:
