On the one hand, as a fan of weird forests, which is to say all forests, I'm keen on the prospect of an FPS set in a post-apocalyptic Paris that has been overrun by sentient, pissed-off trees. It's from a team led by a former S.T.A.L.K.E.R. developer, too, and those S.T.A.L.K.E.R. alumni certainly know how to post a good apocalypse. On the other hand, the announcement video suggests a game in which you will mostly treat the frenzied flora as a source of "emergent" cover and terrain traps. Have a look. |

The upcoming Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid movie will release in late June 2025. The announcement came from the official website, which also included a few snippets from the voice actors and their thoughts about the upcoming film. It will release on June 27, 2025 in Japan. A worldwide release has yet to be announced.
Alongside the announcement of a release date, Kyoani shared a trailer for the film. It features several short scenes with the main cast and, of course, dragons. The trailer does have English subtitles, which means English speaking audiences can glean what the upcoming movie will be about, which involves the appearance of Kanna's real father.

In 2022, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Burst Forth!! Choro-gon Breath received an English release. This special title was a shoot'em up, or shmup, with the story of the game centered on the characters being sucked into a haunted computer. For a limited time Sapporo, the Japanese beer brand, will release a series of cans featuring artwork drawn by JoJos' Bizarre Adventure creator, Hirohiko Araki, as part of it's Yebisu Beer line. Consumers will be able to purchase this limited line of Yebisu Beer starting on February 12, 2025. However, the collaboration will strictly be limited to Japan.
Sapporo showed off a total of two Yebisu Beer cans featuring artwork from Araki, which is in the signature style of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Additionally, purchasing a pack of beer will allow for consumers to try their hand at a lottery and win tin coasters featuring the artwork.

The illustrations themselves feature two women in kimono with a tray of Sapporo and an accompanying glass. One can features a woman in an orange kimono, and another in white.
For those looking to purchase merchandise specific to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Japanese clothing brand Graniph announced a collaboration in September 2024. The collection included bags, pants, t-shirts, and jackets. Each of these items features a unique print of more than a handful of characters from the iconic series.
The Hirohiko Araki Yebisu Beer cans will be available in Japan starting on February 12, 2025. Purchases include the opportunity to obtain a set of tin coasters. You can watch JoJo's Bizarre Adventure on services like Netflix or Crunchyroll.

Marvelous revealed the release date for Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma as May 30, 2025. The game will appear on Steam a day later. Additionally, the upcoming issue of the weekly Famitsu magazine will include a 16-page feature on the game revealing new details. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
The Japanese voice actors for the main protagonists have been revealed, with Subaru being played by Junya Enoki, Kaguya being played by Yui Ishikawa, and sidekick Mokoron being played by Ai Kakuma. Additionally, some of the 12 romanceable characters were also introduced. These include Hina, a mysterious archeologist voiced by Shiina Natsukawa in the Japanese dub; the skybound adventurer Mauro, and the vibrant tea house worker Iroha.
The Famitsu feature will also include an interview with Director Shiro Maekawa delving into how the new Rune Factory spin-off came to be and what were the goals set by the development team. Furthermore, the gameplay loop of the Rune Factory series will be explored, and details about the new aspect of "Dance" in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma will be explored.
The game was originally revealed on the August 2024 Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase with a 2025 release window and a trailer introducing the protagonists and the Japanese-inspired land of Azuma.
The Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma release date is set for May 30, 2025. The game will come out for the Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam a day later.

Myethos announced a new Honkai Impact 3rd figure of Bronya that depicts her Herrscher of Truth form in the Dorm Chibi casual style. AmiAmi is currently taking orders for it worldwide, with it costing 5,280円 (~$32). It is expected to ship in August 2025.
This version of Bronya is a non-standard scale figure stands at over three and a half inches tall (90mm). She has her hair pulled back into a ponytail, just as she does for the Herrscher of Truth Battlesuit. Instead of the outfit she wears in battle for that look, she's wearing a white shirt with blue bow and black skirt. She's also holding a blue pillow shaped like a bunny. An additional part shaped like a pillow with her armor mark on it can be placed to help her balance.

As a reminder, the Honkai Impact 3rd version of Bronya is different from the ones we've met in Honkai: Star Rail. Those are alternate versions of her from various planets and realities. However, the Welt Yang in Honkai: Star Rail is the same one from Honkai Impact 3rd.

Former PlayStation president Shuhei Yoshida will be joining the cast of voice actors for Promise Mascot Agency, as revealed by the studio Kaizen Game Works. Other members of the voice cast include Ayano Shibuya, Hidetaka "Swery" Suehiro, and Takaya Kuroda.
The voice cast for Promise Mascot Agency features a diverse range of Japanese actors and notable figures. Shuhei Yoshida, former President of Sony Worldwide Studios, is among the cast, playing a kappa mascot who loves games. He is joined by Deadly Premonition director "Swery," who plays a priest. Ayako Shibuya (The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom) and Eri Saito (Chainsaw Man) voice major roles. Finally, the protagonist is voiced by Takaya Kuroda, best known as Kazuma Kiryu from the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series.
Promise Mascot Agency is an upcoming game about managing a mascot agency in a world where mascots are a living species. You play as a disgraced yakuza named Michi who is now trying to make a new life for himself with the assistance of a finger-shaped mascot named Pinky. The game will feature management sim mechanics, driving sections where you control a kei truck and visual novel storytelling. Promise Mascot Agency was developed by Kaizen Game Works, whose previous game was the surreal detective game Paradise Killer. Early development assistance came from Ikumi Nakamura, who helped give the game an authentic Japanese feel.
Shuhei Yoshida is an odd choice for a voice role in Promise Mascot Agency, as his background is mainly in management, not acting. However, Yoshida is a popular figure within the games industry and his presence is likely to be met with positive reception. He recently announced his retirement from Sony.
Promise Mascot Agency is set for release in early 2025 for the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC.

There's a new look at Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii gameplay, and this time the trailer focuses on how Goro Majima works in combat. The video is over three minutes long, and it focuses on his Mad Dog and Sea Dog Styles.
After a brief segment just showing off footage of fights, the Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza gameplay gets into more solid examples of how the two fighting styles work in the game. Mad Dog is the more traditional one used by Majima both here and in past Yakuza games. It shows his quick, slashing attacks. Some of the Heat Actions are shown as well, as well as how you can charge moves to deal more damage. The Mad Dog Style Madness Gauge's Suspicious Men also comes up at about the 1:10 mark, showing how he summons shadow clones to help fight.
The Sea Dog Style, which has Majima dual-wield cutlass swords in this Yakuza game, comes up here. While this is a sword-based style, he can fight at range by throwing the swords, using a chain hook, or firing a pistol. Like Mad Dog, Sea Dog involves summoning "allies," though the trailer shows they are drawn in with "dark instruments" when the Madness Gauge is full.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will come out for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam on February 21, 2025. There will also be a Captain Majima - EP album with "him singing" various tracks from the game out in Japan on February 7, 2025.

The Pokemon Company issued a statement addressing availability issues for the Pokemon TCG Scarlet & Violet: Prismatic Evolutions expansion. The set will see a full release outside of Japan on January 17, 2025.
The statement issued on social media stated that demand for the Pokemon TCG Scarlet & Violet: Prismatic Evolutions expansion is exceptionally high, and it warned that some players may experience difficulties obtaining the expansion after it is released. It's not clear if this affects the pre-orders from the Pokemon Center specifically or if this is likely to affect other retailers. The Pokemon Company said it will be issuing reprints as quickly as possible and be working to full capacity to meet demand as best as they can.

The Pokemon TCG Scarlet & Violet: Prismatic Evolutions expansion focuses on Eevee and its evolutions, all appearing as Stellar Tera Pokemon. The new cards are releasing as part of an Elite Trainer Box containing booster packs and gameplay accessories. The boxes also contain exclusive rare promo cards. Those ordering from the Pokemon Center will receive a second promo card featuring the Pokemon Center logo. Other collections include the Binder Collection, which contains five booster packs and an album that can hold up to 378 cards, and the Poster Collection, which comes with a two-sided poster featuring Eevee.
While Prismatic Evolutions is the latest expansion for the Pokemon TCG, the next expansion has already been confirmed. Journey Together is set for release in March 2025, which is set to focus on special Pokemon belonging to major trainers from the main game series.
Scarlet & Violet: Prismatic Evolutions is set for general release on January 17, 2025, although this is likely to be affected by availability issues.

Bandai Namco announced its Bandai Spirits One Piece Nefertari Vivi Glitter and Glamours prize figure in both offline and online crane games in Japan. This is ahead of its wider debut, which includes the $24.99 figure being sold at places like Crunchyroll in April 2025.
This is a non-standard scale figure, but she is somewhere between 1/7 and 1/8 size since she stands at about 9 inches (23 cm) tall. It is static, so there are no additional face plates or arm parts to change her poses. As the Glitter and Glamours name suggests, the line is about portraying the characters at their best and most extravagant. As such, she's wearing a pink dress and there are accessories with metallic gold paint on them.

The last One Piece character in this prize figure line was Princess Shirahoshi. She appeared in arcades in December 2024.
We'll be seeing more of the character in 2025. This is because she's already confirmed to be a part of season 2 of the One Piece live-action adaptation on Netflix.
The Nefertari Vivi One Piece Glitter and Glamours prize figure is available in Japanese arcades now, and it will eventually be sold worldwide.

Square Enix shared more insights into the new features that will accompany the debut of Cid Highwind in the FFVII Ever Crisis storyline for Final Fantasy VII, and the trailers show him using a Rocket Lance and wearing astronaut gear. As a reminder, when the character worked for Shinra, he was a part of the Shinra Space Program and would have flown the No. 26 rocket.
The new Cid Rocket Lance and astronaut gear show up in two FFVII Ever Crisis trailers highlighting how the new Enfeeble debuff and Stop effect are tied to abilities on the weapon. In each case, we get a pretty clear view of the new polearm that will be a part of an upcoming weapon banner, as well as his attire that will likely be included on the same one.
First, we can see both items in the video highlighting Cid's Cosmic Burst attack. This applies the Enfeeble ailment as he deals non-elemental magic damage to one enemy. When Enfeeble is active, other debuffs will be even stronger and weaken a foe further.

This also comes up in the Stop trailer. We get to watch Cid use the Hyper Jump attack that includes the Stop status ailment that forces a single opponent to halt for at least eight seconds after it lands. The clear look at the equipment here comes up at the 21 second mark.
Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available for PCs and mobile devices, and Cid Highwind will join after the FFVII update on January 15, 2025.

Priroll revealed new Valentine's Day cakes and macarons based on Nippon Ichi Software's Disgaea series and its characters. The company has also opened orders on its website throughout January and February 2025.
The lineup has a particular focus on the following four titles: Disgaea D2, Disgaea 4, Disgaea 5, and Disgaea 6. There will be cakes themed after each title priced at 4,968 yen (~$31.80) apiece. Priroll is also selling a set of six macarons adorned with female characters from each title at 2,592 yen (~$16.60).
The sweets will also have additional customization options. Priroll lets people choose the cakes' layers between whipped cream or choco cream, with the middle layer containing strawberries or yellow peaches. As for the macarons, people can choose whether to pack the strawberry flavor with chocolate or orange and pistachio.
In addition, every purchase will come with a pin badge featuring the same illustrations used on the sweets. Although Priroll can only ship the orders inside Japan, it will use Yamato Transport's cool delivery boxes to deliver the sweets across the country.
The Disgaea series Valentine's Day cakes and macarons are available to order via Priroll until February 28, 2025. People can purchase the sweets with a discount if they place the orders by January 21, 2025.

It seems we could be building up to more major One Piece live-action season 2 announcements, as Netflix shared another three supporting actors for the show. This time, the latest social media post shared the identities of Dragon, Igaram, and Ipponmatsu.
In this batch of new One Piece live-action supporting actors for season 2, Dragon is the most notable. Spoilers aside, he ends up being a major influence on characters like Luffy and Sabo in the story. He's played by Rigo Sanchez, who most recently played Lightner in the show Outer Banks.
The other two characters are notable in their own ways. Igaram is also known as Mr. 8 and is associated with Miss Wednesday. He's played by Yonda Thomas, whose last role was the show Red Ink. Finally, the store owner Ipponmatsu will be played by James Hiroyuki Liao. He's appeared in Blue Bloods and Presumed Innocent most recently.

This is the second One Piece live-action supporting actor reveal this week. On January 14, 2025, Netflix revealed the identities of Miss Goldenweek, Chess, and K.M. Of the three, Baroque Works antagonist Miss Goldenweek is the most notable, and she's played by Sophia Anne Caruso.
We still don't know who plays one of the more notable additions in the second season of this adaptation. Tony Tony Chopper will debut in the new episodes. We've seen teases of the character from the back, but no official footage of him or details about his voice actor.
There's no launch date for season 2 of the One Piece live-action adaptation yet, but the full first season is live on Netflix now. You can find the anime on Crunchyroll and Netflix, and Viz Media handles the manga outside of Japan.
