Hitting, by far, is my favorite activity in MLB The Show 25 (No, I don't love pitching in the same fashion), and it's pretty essential irrespective of which mode you're playing.
In most cases, the ball's traveling distance and direction will largely depend on your skill and the batter's attributes. Your chances of properly hitting the ball will vary with your settings. While the game allows you to make a lot of tweaks, here are the best hitting settings that you can potentially use.
Best MLB The Show 25 hitting settings
If you're reasonably aware of MLB The Show's hitting system from previous games, this is the best setting to use.
It's well-accepted that Zone hitting is the best to use if you want maximum control over your bat swing. However, it's also the hardest to use in my books, and it takes a lot of game knowledge to master. If you're either a casual player or someone new, using Zone might be difficult.
In that case, Timing as your Hitting Interface will be the best solution. If you're using Timing, many controls will be locked, which makes it easier for you to focus on the incoming pitch.

Best MLB The Show 25 hitting interface
It's always a toss-up between Zone and Timing. I usually start with Timing as I am not a hardcore player by any means, and it's a good way to grasp the core features related to hitting. Switching to Zone will be immensely rewarding once your eyes get set and your muscle memory has built up.
In Zone, you have to control two aspects: PCI and timings. PCI, short for Plate Coverage Indicator, represents greater control over your bat swing and where it meets the ball. Prior to the pitch, your job is to guess where the pitch is going to land and swing your bat accordingly (this part is completely automated if you're using the Timing hitting interface).
If you're unable to place your PCI reticle close to the ball's path, you will always miss your hit. It doesn't matter how well you timed your shot if the PCI reticle isn't close enough. As for the PCI reticle, you can opt for anything you're used to. The symbol doesn't matter, and your chances of success largely depend on how well you can identify the path of a pitch.

How to change hitting settings in MLB The Show 25
All the debate about the best hitting settings becomes irrelevant if you can't change them in the first place. Just follow the steps to tweak the settings to your liking.
That's pretty much all when it comes to hitting settings in MLB The Show 25. Do remember that having the best settings only makes things a bit easier. It doesn't turn you automatically into prime Aaron Judge, so you'll ultimately have to play the game to get better at it.
