I Want to Be a Receptionist in This Magical World is one of those manga series that might give someone pause at first glance, even though it is a shojo series that is a lot of fun. Nunnally Hel wants to be a receptionist at the adventurer's guild Harre. However, in this world that's a very coveted position that requires someone to essentially have top marks at school and be quite magically gifted as well. The pacing in the first volume is great, since it covers her education and getting started, but it doesn't really help us understand why it is necessary. Now that we're already up to volume 6, the series makes much more sense and is more enjoyable as a result.

So in the very first volume of I Want to Be a Receptionist in This Magical World, we see Nunnally attending the prestigious Kingdom of Doran Magic Academy, even though she isn't nobility. This is because of natural talent and a drive to become a receptionist at the Harre's adventurer assisting organization. That's a place that helps with investigations, assignments, and other things associated with quests. There, she develops as an individuals, ends up with the rare ice magic Blood Type, and grows as an individual. It also sets up a rivalry with Alweiss Rockmann, an actual noble and love interest who is equally magically inclined and gunning for a role with the kingdom's knights.
It's only once we get past that initial volume that Harre's demand makes sense. This is because, while I Want to Be a Receptionist in This Magical World is a shojo manga, there's also a bit of adventure to it. As a newcomer, a lot of Nunnally's time at the job involves learning practical skills. While some of that is typical paperwork, it also shows that insight into what explorers will deal with is a necessity. While figuring out new assignments and taking requests from common people for the knights and other experienced warriors, they'll need to figure out what's going on. Maybe identify a creature involved in a situation. This requires them to be strong enough to do some light exploration on their own for investigations for the assignment. Basically, they need to know what they're talking about, and have a wide range of immediately familiarity and information to pull from due to everything Harre handles. We see Nunnally do some tracking and use a memory detection on folks with requests about incidents to help properly figure out what's going on and pair them with folks who can help.
Another element that suddenly makes it believable that a "simple" receptionist would need to be so experienced and skilled is the adaptability. Part of I Want to Be a Receptionist in This Magical World heading to different locations in the manga does feel designed to offer more backstory and insight into Nunnally and her family's past and offer more sorts of shojo setups for interactions with her friends and Rockmann. However, part of it also shows the range of the individuals working for Harre. One of her assignments takes her outside the one major location in Doran to other branches. So a part of that sends her to the south to Solieu. So since she does need to go around the kingdom, it reasons someone would need to be strong enough to travel and handle themself in any situation, regardless of environment.
Two of the more recent examples as to why Harre needs such talented and strong employees is hinted at in the sixth volume of the manga, leading into the events of the seventh. The first involves a major event and competition called Walhelnus. Harre sends representatives to compete alongside other sorcerers. Nunnally isn't participating that year, due to her being relatively new. However, part of Harre's tasks involves also assisting with running it, which she'll be doing. That involves even more magical assistance than her daily job. The other teaser suggests now she is experienced enough to work the night shift. This again involves more danger and critical situations, as well as doing so without senior staff around.
It basically feels like every volume of I Want to Be a Receptionist in This Magical World gradually showcases more and more why Nunnally needed to be such a talented sorceress to work there. When the manga began, it didn't properly show or tell why what is essentially an adventurer's guild would need top-of-their-class students as employees. However, as the series continues, it's doing a much better job of laying that out. I really appreciate it!
Volume 6 of the I Want to Be a Receptionist in This Magical World manga is available now, and Yen Press hasn't noted when it will release volume 7 yet.

Have you heard about Splintered, a Dragon Quest-like game strongly influenced by early JRPGs that is also packed with randomizer options? No? I mean, it's understandable. I only fought out about it offhand by going through a few rounds of my Steam Discovery queue, but geez, I'm wishing it didn't take that kind of effort. After going through some of what is immediately available at its launch, I get the feeling dotMake Studios could be making something special, and I wish more people knew about it.
Splintered begins with a massive betrayal. After selecting your avatar's appearance, you learn that your kingdom is betrayed, the king is dead, everyone is against you, your sister went off to a battlefront, and it is up to you to retrieve an artifact in the hopes of starting to fight back. What follows is a mostly traditional JRPG style experience strongly influenced by Dragon Quest. You head out from the castle. You fight turn-based battles against monsters from a first-person perspective. You explore dungeons (with torches for visibility) for key items and to complete objectives. There are NPCs to talk to in towns. You might even happen upon a little sidequest, such as playing "hide and seek."
There are elements that set it apart, of course. First, the approach to equipment and abilities is fascinating. You choose two specialties when you first start the game, which influence stats. You pick up equipment, which influences your abilities based on experience you earn via using it to attack enemies. In addition to standard leveling up upon defeating foes, you also get additional bonus skills by defeating certain numbers of foes. Since you're basically learning from them by hunting them down. (It's very satisfying.) So your build is directly affected by your choices and gameplay style. It's a level of depth I didn't expect.
DotMake Studios also completely integrates the idea of game randomizer elements into Splintered. So you aren't just unlocking and experiencing randomized quests and making or using seeds, but that is also integral to the story. When you get through a chapter, the world is splintered. So all of the monsters are reshuffled and adjusted, the landscape looks different, you may be able to pursue different options for yourself, and it is completely acknowledged. It's early in development, for sure, but I was so surprised at how invested you can get and how committed to the bit the developer is.
I'm also pretty impressed by the general quality and foundation found in Splintered so far, considering it is an early access game. I didn't experience any bugs after about seven hours of play, which is a pleasant surprise. It runs well. It looks good. The soundtrack is perhaps the only underwhelming part, but given this is an early build maybe we'll see that change? (I would just mute the game and play other music.) For those who do have questions or experience issues, the developer is active on the Steam discussions board. I primarily played on a Lenovo Legion Go and it was fine, but I noticed Richard Murtland did create a whole thread for Steam Deck help.
I can't get over how it seems like nobody is talking about Splintered, because it strikes me as a really special early access game. There's a lot of potential here. I can clearly see how much dotMake Studios respects and loves older JRPGs like Dragon Quest, and that helped shape this. Not only that, but the skill acquisition elements and randomizer features do feel very novel and like they could offer a lot of potential both now and in the final release.

Brookhaven is one of the biggest and most popular games on Roblox, and the 2025 Easter Egg Hunt is shaping up to be a huge event. Plenty of other games are joining in on the Easter fun too—like Dealership Tycoon, Fisch, Kitten Game, Mansion Tycoon, Vehicle Legends, Volleyball Legends, Emergency Response: Liberty County, and Dandy's World. But for now, let's focus on this Brookhaven Easter Egg Hunt guide and dive in.

Brookhaven Easter Egg Hunt Information
The public is understandably excited, and not just because Brookhaven is a planetary hit. Voldex now runs the game, and for the first time ever, we will experience the good ol' Brookhaven Easter Egg Hunt with a different guiding hand.
Speculations are through the roof: Some predict new types of eggs and colors, new secretive places to hide them, or even an introduction of the "Egg Meter" showing your progress and other relevant data.
However, this fantastic role-playing and avatar sim game has hosted Easter Egg Hunts for years, and all of them were pretty much the same, at least as far as game mechanics and gameplay are concerned. If you are new to the game, it has minimal content maturity, and it is a family-friendly Roblox experience, so make sure to behave during the Easter Egg Hunt.
Still, some of the changes for the upcoming 2025 Brookhaven Easter Egg Hunt have already been introduced. There will be 6 swappable stage sets, make-up rooms, and a director's office. New tools will be implemented, such as a megaphone, clapperboard, treasure chest, and many others. A new bus stop design and pink blossoming trees in the city of Brookhaven, fitting for springtime, will also be introduced.
Brookhaven Easter Egg Hunt Instructions
The most significant change will be new Easter vehicles. This will be the first Easter Egg Hunt in the history of Brookhaven, where finding Easter Eggs will be a part of obtaining totally new vehicles. An introduction of new objects is also possible, but more on that once we know a bit more.
As before, the Easter Egg Hunt is expected to have four difficulty levels: Baby, Easy, Medium, Hard, and Extreme.
Baby Mode
In Baby mode, Eggs are on the streets and are fully visible, even from far away. This is a starting mode and doesn't pose a challenge in any way.
Easy Mode
In Easy mode, Eggs are placed outside the objects, tucked in easily spotted places in areas marked in red. This hunt is suitable for children of all ages.
Medium Mode
In Medium mode, the Eggs are still placed outside the buildings, but there will be more Eggs than in the Easy mode, and they are better hidden. The Eggs are still easy to find, but it takes a little effort, and all of them are located in the town itself.
Hard Mode
In Hard mode, the Eggs can be located inside and on top of the buildings. You will definitely need a ladder to reach some of them, and exploring the entire town thoroughly goes without saying, but all the Eggs are still placed in Brookhaven. Good players will find Hard mode interesting, but not overly challenging.
Extreme Mode
In Extreme mode, the Eggs can be placed anywhere on the map, and some of them will be 100% located outside the town of Brookhaven. Last time, in 2024, one of the Eggs was located on the island across the town, and another could be found in a cave crevice after a detailed search and a lot of cave crawling. The popular content creator and streamer Connor (CDawgVA) is back again this year with the 4th installment of his popularCyclethon, where he, Chris Broad (AbroadinJapan), and a series of guests cycle throughout several days across Japan to raise money for the Immune Deficiency Foundation.
The event will be starting soon, so to bring you up to speed on everything happening, we thought we would list all the important points so you can keep track of all the happenings as they conspire.
Everything you need to know about Cyclethon 4
Cyclethon 4 starts April 13 and depending on where you are in the world, it'll start at these times:
The trip this time will take place from the most eastern part of Hokkaido, Japan, where the first Cycleton was held in 2022, as the team heads south to hopefully get to Tokyo by April 27. You'll be able to catch the stream on CDawgVA's official Twitch channel. The total length of the journey is 1,200km and CDawgVA and Chris are taking a different route than the first Cycleton.
The usual guests will also appear throughout the two-week journey, with Pete (PremierTwo) joining halfway through, as confirmed by Connor in one of his recent streams. A lot of the other guests though remain a mystery, so fans will need to keep track of the stream to see who appears throughout the journey, though there have already been some teasers in some test streams of streamer Ironmouse making an appearance through some new tech that'll allow her to watch and converse with Connor and the team. Trash Taste member Garnt is also set to appear, as well as PewDiePie.
Outside of the above, Connor has done a good job in hiding most of the surprises this time, so what the team will do, who else will be joining them, and what shenanigans will happen, will all be experiences live at the first time. So make sure to tune in not only to support all those taking part but if you can, give to a good cause as well. Last year the team made over one million dollars for charity, so here's hoping they smash that amount this year as well.
If you want to donate to a good cause, you can do so on the Cyclethon 4 official Tiltify page. The goal is currently set to $50,000, but we imagine the team will smash that in the first day alone.
