World of Warcraft has been around for a long, long time now and, as a result, its players are likely to have different opinions on their favorite eras of the game, that timeline punctuated by the launch of expansions ranging from The Burning Crusade through to The War Within. Most agree, though, that 2012's Mists of Pandaria marks a high point for the long-running MMO, which has made its addition to WoW Classic eagerly anticipated. Today, Blizzard has announced that it won't be much longer before the expansion is ready to play in something close to its original form once again.

Earlier this week, one of my industry peers James Bentley (they're over at that other site about PC games, GamerPCs I think it's called) put out a video essay titled "I Can Guarantee You This Game is Going to be Underrated". Trusting in James as a critic of varied and interesting taste, I clicked through and found that yeah, they're right, it probably will be. However, I also get to write about indie PC games for a living, so I'd like to do my part in telling you about this strange, point-and-click/ visual novel called Decade.

I think there might be a chance, just ever so slightly, that the development of Cities Skylines 2 has been a bit difficult. The game launched back in October of 2023 and has suffered from performance issues, rushed DLC, and a delay to its first expansion Bridges and Ports. This expansion was meant to come soon after the Beach Properties DLC, but that obviously didn't happen, catching a delay to sometime in the second quarter of 2025 specifically to continue improving upon the base game. Except the expansion has been delayed once again.

fate/grand order egyptian exhibition

Lasengle worked with the ACN "Ramses the Great and the Gold of the Pharaohs" Egypt exhibition at Crevia Base Tokyo to release limited time merchandise of the Egyptian Servants from Fate/Grand Order. Not only can visitors learn about history, but they can also pick up goods like pins and cushions.

The Servants who are part of this collaboration are Ozymandias (Ramses II), Nitocris, Nitocris Alter, Cleopatra, and Tutankhamun. The earliest date you can go to the exhibition if you have this ticket is June 14, 2025. If you want to go to the exhibition, and you're not that interested in the goods, the adult ticket costs 3800 JPY ($26.35) on weekdays and 4000 JPY ($27.75) on weekends.

All the merchandise depicts the characters as chibis. You can purchase them from June 14, 2025. As for the items and prices, they are:

The cushions resemble a pyramid, while the clear folder's background has the same pattern as the limestone on the pyramids in real life.

Fate/Grand Order is readily available on mobile devices. The "Ramses the Great and the Gold of the Pharaohs" exhibition will run until September 7, 2025, and the Fate/Grand Order goods that are part of the collaboration will be available from June 14, 2025.

Bkub Okawa Drew Honkai: Star Rail Stickers

HoYoVerse worked with Bkub Okawa, the mangaka known for Pop Team Epic, to release a collection of virtual Honkai: Star Rail stickers. There are 16 total designs available. All of them are available to see and grab from HoYoLab.

These designs are based on the recent 3.0 patch series and updates to Honkai: Star Rail, which means the stickers only features characters from the Astral Express and Amphoreus. This means many of them are Chrysos Heirs, such as Agalea, Anaxa, Castorice, Cipher, Hyacine, Mydei, Phainon, and Tribbie. The Astral Express members appearing are both the Caelus and Stelle versions of the Trailblazer, Dan Heng, Himeko, March 7th, Pom-Pom, and Welt. The Trailblazer Remembrance memosprite Mem also appears. The recent Astral Express addition Sunday isn't present in the pack.

Here's how all of the stickers in this collection look:

As a reminder, some of the Honkai: Star Rail characters depicted in those Bkub Okawa stickers no longer feature the same voice actors. Due to the SAG-AFTRA video game strike, which started back in 2024, a number of people ended up replaced. Some of the most recent changes involved the performers for Trailblazer avatars Caelus and Stelle.

Honkai: Star Rail is available for the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the 3.4 update will launch in July 2025.

Switch 2 Dock Not Compatible With Switch HDMI Cable or AC Adapter

Nintendo updated the Switch 2 accessory and game compatibility pages, and there are a number of Switch items like the HDMI cable and AC adapter that don't work with the new dock. It also confirmed that it needs microSD Express cards and will work with old controllers. The game and app page also confirmed a number of streaming service apps won't work with the new system.

In the case of the Switch AC adapter, it will be compatible with the Switch 2. However, it will only work with that if you directly plug it into the system. It won't work if you plug it into the dock for TV mode play. Nintendo noted this is due to the change in power output. You'll need to use the new AC adapter made just for that system's dock.

When it comes to the HDMI cable, the Switch one won't work with a Switch 2. Nintendo simply said the "standards differ." So you need to use the one from the new system with its dock.

Of course, older docks won't work with the new console. Nintendo also noted the adjustable charging stand made for the original model won't work with the new system. It also said the original one or one for the OLED model aren't compatible. You need to use a Switch 2 dock with that system.

As for streaming services, Nintendo noted five won't work with the Switch 2. Here's the full list of apps that won't be compatible with that console:

Nintendo also shared official pdfs with lists of games that will get patches to work, that work even if there are compatibility issues, and that have start-up issues

The Nintendo Switch 2 will launch on June 5, 2025, and it is compatible with some Switch accessories and games.

Apple Arcade image

Here we go again. Apple is ready to get hardcore into gaming once more, reportedly this time with a dedicated app for games and gamers built-in to its devices like the iPhone and iPads later this year.

A new report from Bloomberg cites "people with knowledge of the matter" that Apple will begin to preinstall the app on its devices, including the Apple TV set-top box, in 2025 and an announcement of the new addition is imminent to coincide with next week's launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. With the move, Apple is "seeking to sell gamers and developers on the idea that it's a leader in the market."

https://twitter.com/business/status/1927451003256774896

"The software will serve as a launcher for titles and centralize in-game achievements, leaderboards, communications and other activity, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the plans haven't been announced," Bloomberg said.

Game Center? Remember that? It's been seemingly under-utilized for years and will now be replaced by the new app, according to the report. The gaming-centric app will "will feature editorial content from Apple about new titles, offer access to the App Store's game section" while promoting Apple Arcade, the company's game subscription service.

There's no doubt that mobile gaming has a huge market share when it comes to spending, but each time Apple has tried to try and capture the "mainstream" gamer appeal with features like Apple Arcade or full-fledged game releases like Resident Evil Village, etc., gamers tend to stay where they're at.

Will this new effort be any different? That remains to be seen, but I think it will have to be a bit more in-depth for it to be worth it for most gamers. We'll see just how deep this new app goes, but I'm skeptical.

I also just don't think it's very necessary. There are already several kinds of launcher-like apps that come with peripherals such as Scuf Gaming and Backbone controllers, where players can use their ancillary hardware to find and launch games from. And I already have a folder full of all my games in one central spot to make it easier to find when I want to play something.

But if this is to be an Xbox Live or PlayStation Network-like addition for Apple, maybe it will be better. I still really don't think most people want to play full-length, triple-A games like Resident Evil on their phones, though, not when consoles and PCs exist for that exact reason.

a look at the nintendo switch 2 joy-cons

The Nintendo Switch 2's release date is approaching quickly, with just over a week left until it hits storefronts and arrives in the pockets of anyone who preordered the console. But that hasn't stopped a leaked version from surfacing, with an early unboxing video briefly showcasing it.

A seven-second clip, uploaded to YouTube before being swiftly taken down through copyright strikes, highlights the Nintendo Switch 2, boxed and packaged, with its noticeably larger screen and Joy-Con mouse hybrids included. But it doesn't dive into its functionality and performance for one important reason—it's impossible to play on the console until launch.

https://twitter.com/Wario64/status/1927439153144160682

As the uploader mentions in a comment within the video, the Switch 2 is currently locked, preventing it from being used altogether. Using it requires an update to gain full functionality, which is likely to prevent early copies from being used before the console's release date on June 5. A later post from Wario64 on Twitter (X) confirms this, reporting how another user received a message prompt to "Please connect to the internet and update your system."

In short, even if you somehow manage to get your hands on an early copy of the Switch 2, there's no way to play it before its official release. This also means you'll need to connect to the internet and install an update before accessing the console. While it's unknown at the time of writing how much this will impact currently planned and future releases, it does mean you'll be required to go online to update the system before using it.

This unintentional first look at the Switch 2 is arriving shortly after Nintendo released a list of games and apps that can't run on the platform, including Hulu, Crunchyroll, Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 04: VR Kit, and more. It also comes with some limitations, such as requiring older Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons to play certain games. This leak primarily highlights the system's second main limitation: requiring an internet connection for its initial day-one update, alongside any subsequent updates that'll arrive over time.

The Nintendo Switch 2, its GameChat microphone, and many of its accompanying launch titles will officially be released on June 5.
