The Crew 2's offline mode is now live, ensuring that the racer "remains accessible for years to come". Well, assuming you're not bothered about playing online, which would still be deep-sixed if Ubisoft opted to shut down the game's servers, as they did with its predecessor. Odds are that won't happen at least in the immediate future, due to the player feedback the publishers have credited as the impetus behind this addition.

That acknowledgement very much looks to be a way of nodding to the Stop Killing Games campaign, who rose to prominence following Ubisoft's shutdown of the first Crew's servers - thereby rendering it totally unplayable - without naming them directly.

There is a woman trying to get into my supermarket. She's banging on the sliding door glass, an urgent silhouette against swirling fog and darkness. My manager told me it's not safe outside at night, but the woman doesn't seem afraid, for all her banging. She is smiling. Not a nice smile. A Skibidi smile, all teeth and gums and painfully stretched skin.

I do not think I should let the woman in, but she explains to me in text dialogue that I have it all backwards. She's not outside the store. I am. So really, if I let her in I'm only letting myself in. I do not find this gnomic insight reassuring. I tell her to clear off. She doesn't press her case, but comments before drifting away that there might be consequences later. I silently observe that I would rather have consequences later than consequences right now.

I Will Be the Rayquaza of Rust for Corbeau in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

I am convinced some folks at Game Freak love Sega's Yakuza and Like a Dragon series. And know what? I'm psyched. Pokemon Legends: Z-A features some fun and personable characters, but none won me over like Corbeau and his Rust Syndicate. The nature of that campaign storyline and his personality throughout is incredible. So much so that I 100% consider my Pokemon Legends: Z-A character to be the Rayquaza of Rust for Corbeau, just like Kazuma Kiryu made a name for himself as the Dragon of Dojima

Editor's Note: There are absolutely going to be Pokemon Legends: Z-A spoilers below.

When Pokemon Legends: Z-A first introduces the Rust Syndicate in the game, it feels like we could be seeing the villainous "team" for this entry. The characters look shady as hell. Their headquarters are off-limits until we have an excuse to go in as part of the campaign. Our first introduction to them is Philippe and Corbeau calling our avatar and Lida about a loan that Taunie/Urbain took out and never repaid. How did they get our numbers? They have their ways

But at the same time, Game Freak casts some doubt with this introduction. Lida points out that nobody ever did anything about Rust Syndicate, even with the organization's reputation. The police aren't involved. Neither is the mayor. The company does a little foreshadowing that could go either way. Are they so powerful that they aren't being caught? Could an organization giving out high-interest loans and forcing people to work them off with no end in sight actually be good?

It's the latter. Corbeau in Pokemon Legends: Z-A is a good guy. I mean, he's not a "hero." Dude has a business to run. But as we go through the organization and start working off Taunie/Urbain's debt, we learn a lot about Corbeau, Rust Syndicate, and Lumiose City itself.

By the way, when I say "we," I mean our character. Lida, Naveen, and Taunie/Urbain somehow play no part in the repayment process whatsoever. Go team!

Anyways. The first thing I love about Corbeau and Rust Syndicate in Pokemon Legends: Z-A are the aesthetics. Everyone's look would 100% fit in at Kamurocho. When we enter the headquarters for the first time, Game Freak forces us to walk past two lines of employees to Philippe. There's no dash option. Even the presentation and immediate camera angle calls to mind Yakuza or Like a Dragon. And when we get to Corbeau's office, the angles and positioning again are used for dramatic effect.

The second is how Corbeau presents himself in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. This dude is our antihero. He didn't seek out power or want it. It was thrust upon him because he's the person who can handle it. He's flawed. He's handing out 100,000 loans to teenagers, then jacking up the interest to make it 1,000,000. He is the kind of person who will almost lose his temper at folks who are "civilians," but immediately catch himself and course correct. This is someone who, in spite of his appearances and reputation, is a friend to both children and Pokemon. He's the kind of ally we don't often see in the Pokemon series, which is very much appreciated.

But the personality trait I love most is his boldness, and it's so good that it stands out among other ones. There are indications that things are going on in Lumiose City sort of leading up to the campaign quest where we become the Rust Syndicate errand-runner. Tensions are running high for a number of reasons. It's because of this that we see exactly how audacious Cordeau can be. During this period, we end up being tapped by Quasartico to quell some Rogue Mega Evolved Pokemon incidents. After that's done, we find Cordeau knew. Of course he knew. He figured out what we were doing and boldly confronted us about it. Later, when there's an incident in which protesters surrounded Quasartico CEO Jett, he joins us to step in to battle the agitators while Taunie/Urbain escorts her away. Except… when it's done, he doesn't let Jett off the hook. He confronts her with the same questions, searching for answers.

I'm the biggest fan after meeting Cordeau and going through the Rust Syndicate storyline in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. I adore the way in which it feels like it sort of references the Yakuza and Like a Dragon series. (Combined with the way Side Missions sometimes feel like Substories, it is another welcome similarity!) His team's aesthetics are great. His personality is fantastic. The direction it takes the story is insightful. He's a great character in a great game!

Pokemon Legends: Z-A is available for the Switch and Switch 2.

arise ragnarok crossover trello and wiki guide

Roblox's Arise Ragnarok Crossover is not here to replace the original Arise Crossover but it sure as hell looks to be an upgrade. There's a ton of quests to take, weapons to unlock, spells to cast and monsters and bosses to fight. Check them all out on the Arise Ragnarok Crossover Trello, Wiki and Discord.

Arise Ragnarok Crossover Trello, Wiki and Discord Guide

Here are all the useful community and info links for Arise Ragnarok Crossover:

The A.R.C. Trello isn't here yet but it's being discussed in the Discord server so we'll probably see it later either on or post-launch. I'll update this article with the Trello as soon as it's out. That said, the A.R.C. Wiki is in the works from our BloxInformer team with info on weapons, spells, mobs, bosses and more.

Also, be sure to check out the actual official Discord server since announcements get posted there first. It's the best place to stay updated on the game both via the Game-News, Change-Logs and Sneak-Peeks channels. Besides new content the Discord also announces new codes for free rewards, and yes, codes are confirmed for the game. Lastly, the chatting channels are a great place to ask testers and experienced players for tips and tricks on the game.

A.R.C. has a much more active combat system than Arise Crossover so pay attention to combos and stun-locking enemies. You're also going to be doing quests and dungeons found in the open world for leveling. Lastly, you're investing stats into your character based on the weapons you're using like Agility for nimble dagger dual-wields and Intelligence for staves and spells.

That's it for our Arise Ragnarok Crossover Trello board, Wiki page and Discord server guide. Check out our Arise Ragnarok Crossover codes for the latest goodies.

Dive into the treasure-hunting world of DUMP with all these useful community info links:

The DUMP Trello might become available down the line and we'll update this article once it launches. The same goes for any official Wikis the CayPlay team or the community might launch via Fandom. For now take a look at the Wiki which is a work in progress as our Roblox team slowly fills it with info on launch and beyond. We're aiming to archive:

  • All Tools
  • Info on building your house and storing treasures
  • All Items and Treasures
  • All Pets
  • All Cosmetics
  • All Mutations

I would also dive into the official Discord since it's the best place to stay informed on the latest announcements. These might be any updates, new content, sneak peeks, etc. The CayPlay team keeps an updated record of everything you need to know there.

The Discord is also the main place for trading through the "Stuff-I-Want" and "Stuff-I-Have" channels. The "Stuff-I-Have" channel is about showcasing the items you want to trade with others while the former is, well, for the items you want. You can also ask around the community in the chatting channels on trading values so you don't get scammed.

That's it for my DUMP Trello board, Wiki page and Discord server guide. Stay tuned to our DUMP codes page for any new free rewards.

A trainer crouches next to a Ralts in Pokémon Legends Z-A

Finding the Friendship Checker is key in Pokémon Legends Z-A if you're looking to power up your party via evolution.

While the evolution requirements for Pokémon in Legends ZA vary, there's one constant: Friendship Level. If your Pokémon's Friendship Level isn't high, you won't be able to evolve it in the first place. The only way to know how close (or far) you are towards having enough Friendship Level is with the help of Friendship Checker.

This guide will help you to find her in Lumiose City (in case you wonder, Friendship Checker is a person, and not an item).

Pokémon Legends Z-A Friendship Checker location

The Friendship Checker lady can be found at the Cafe Pokemon-Amie, which is located in the northwest part of Lumiose City. Take the main path that heads northwest, and you'll find Cafe Pokemon-Amie on your left.

A lady in yellow will be sitting at the cafe, and you can interact with her to check the Friendship level. While she doesn't state an exact number, her assessment will give you a fair idea of how far you're from evolving a Pokémon.

If you're at the location stated here but can't find the Friendship Checker lady, you'll need to complete an extra step.

Cafe Pokemon-Amie in Legends ZA
Screenshot by Destructoid

Pokémon Legends Z-A Trubblesome Patrons side quest explained

When you discover Cafe Pokemon-Amie for the first time, chances are that you won't find the Friendship Checker lady. To make her appear, you'll have to first save the Cafe by defeating a band of Trubbish. The quest will be handed to you by Fumi at the Cafe, who has problems with Trubbish's odour. You'll then be handed a Tasty Trash to lure the Trubbish away from the spot.

This rewards you with two Rare Candies and five Dusk Balls, apart from enabling the Friendship Checker for you. Once you complete the side quest, go to the lady, select a Pokémon, and she will give you a fair idea of the Friendship Level.

King's Rock in Legends ZA

The King's Rock is one of several evolution items that you can collect in Pokémon Legends Z-A, and knowing how to find it will be beneficial.

Once you have cleared the initial stages of the game, you'll require evolution items, including the King's Rock. There are two ways of finding this item. You can either choose to buy it directly from the correct vendor or earn it by completing a side quest.

This guide will provide you with all the required information.

How to purchase the King's Rock in Pokémon Legends Z-A

To buy the King's Rock (and other evolution items), you'll need to reach the Racine Construction building, located in the southeast part of the map. The easiest way to reach the building is to take the main route that goes southeast. Go past Wild Zone 2, and continue straight.

Racine Construction location in Legends ZA
Screenshot by Destructoid

Once you're at the edge, turn right on the map (to your left) and head straight. You'll reach the Racine Construction building. Go inside, and you'll find a couple of vendors offering different evolution items. Speak with the vendor on your right, and you'll get the option to pick the King's Rock item.

Vendor selling King's Rock in Legends ZA
Screenshot by Destructoid

You can also find a host of other evolution items from these vendors, including the Metal Coat. If you don't want to buy, however, there's an alternate way to get King's Rock. We can't confirm when the item appears as buyable, though, in the location, and it might be a post-game thing, so check back in while you complete the main story to make sure.

How to get King's Rock in Pokémon Legends Z-A

Scrrenshot by Destructoid

You can also obtain the King's Rock by completing the Strike First to Make 'Em Flinch side quest. This is side quest no. 84, so it's going to take you a fair amount of time to reach that point. The quest, like most of the other side content, is pretty much self-explanatory. Completing the quest can be an effective way of gaining a King's Rock, along with other applicable rewards. You can find it (when it becomes available) in the battle court below the Quasartico Inc. building.

If you're all about evolutions in Legends ZA, you should also visit the Stone Emporium, where plenty of Mega Stones are available for purchase. These stones allow you to Mega Evolve the applicable Pokémon when they're holding the item in a battle.

Metal Coat in Legends ZA

The Metal Coat is one of the many essential evolution items that you can obtain in Pokémon Legends Z-A, and this guide will make your life easier by helping you find it first.

There are a couple of ways to obtain the Metal Coat inside Legends Z-A. One of them requires you to spend in-game resources, while the other option involves completing a side quest. I have mentioned details about both of them to help you find the Metal Coat without a problem.

How to buy Metal Coat in Pokémon Legends Z-A

You can outright buy the Metal Coat and other evolution items by being at the correct location. For that, you'll need to reach the Racine Construction, located in the southeast part of the city. Take the main southeast route and go beyond Wild Zone 2.

Racine Construction location in Legends ZA
Screenshot by Destructoid

From there, go right on the map (you'll have to run left) after hitting the edge, and go straight. The Racine Construction is where you'll need to be, and you'll find two members willing to sell you these evolution items. The vendor selling Metal Coat is on the left, and you can directly purchase the item.

Vendor selling Metal Coat in Legends ZA

Then, the Metal Coat will be added to your inventory, and you can use it as required.

We can't confirm if the Metal Coat is sellable here from the get-go or is a post-game item. But it's good to see you can buy a lot of them, among other items.

How to get the Metal Coat in Pokémon Legends Z-A

Screenshot by Destructoid.

You can also obtain the Metal Coat from side quest 114. Titled A Feather from Skarmory, this quest rewards you with a Metal Coat when you complete the tasks. The tasks are pretty self-explanatory, and the game guides you through all steps once you begin the quest. When the side quest is available, it'll be northeast of Wild Zone Area 17.

This will allow you to get the Metal Coat without purchasing from Racine Construction. This method also allows you to have more than one of the evolution items in case you need them for some reason. If you're instead looking to get Evolution Stones, head over to the Stone Emporium located in the southern part of Lumiose City.
