According to project lead Kyle 'Rebelzize' Rebel, Skyblivion's currently "in a great place" and its team are still aiming to release it "as soon as possible". If you missed it, last year's Skyblivion delay followed an ex- level and world designer on the project alleging that the mod's previous 2025 release goal was "unachievable", in a post which also accused Rebel and Skyblivion implementation lead Heavy Burns of mismanaging communication within the mod's team. In response, Heavy Burns asserted that "many" of the claims in the ex-dev's post were "either misrepresented or just untrue". |

You know how Handyman Saitou in Another World is a slice-of-life series about an ordinary person using their practical skills in a fantasy world and being a huge help as a result? The isekai manga Dungeons That Surely Slaughter Adventurers is a similar sort of series, only with a more darkly comedic approach. The heroines Aine and Nacht are also using more typical skills in another land, but unwillingly and in a situation that's leaving them despondent about what feels like a different sort of 9-to-5 gig.
First, the structure of Dungeons That Surely Slaughter Adventurers feels similar to Handyman Saitou, as each one features chapters that are self-contained stories about specific moments involving the leads, with things tying together overall in ways that set up a background for them and a story of sorts. Aine and Nacht started lives as ordinary folks in the real world. After remarking about how often folks are being run down by trucks, they bring up how their defenses are impenetrable. That's when a jet engine falls off of a plane and lands on the duo, killing them instantly. Because they died this way, they're now dungeon staff working to clean up as custodians, while folks who got hit be trucks are the adventurer heroes coming in all the time to kill their coworkers and mess things up.
So to get revenge, Aine and Nacht decide they're going to do their best to make adventurers' lives rougher. Especially since it seems like they're stuck as janitors until other people die due to a falling plane engine.
There are many reasons why this succeeds. One is that Aine and Nacht are so deadpan about things and genuinely treat it as something like a normal custodian job. We're not seeing them freak out about blood and violence too often, though there are some exceptions. (In particular, when a demon boss Aine got close to ended up wiped out by adventurers.) It really comes down to another day's work, and that reaction makes it even more humorous.
Another is the fact that this is dark and mature humor. Which you expect considering they're dealing with blood, guts, and death all day. Finding out another use of mandrakes and discussing things learned from a succubus end up being really funny in-context, and the fact that they respawn after their own deaths means there can be some great gags in the one-shots regarding older Looney Tunes style slapstick and violence. Keep in mind though that it can get dirty, literally, and makes light of some adult subject matter. Tactfully and in ways that are genuinely funny! But it's definitely for an older audience.
Which makes it even more shocking when Dungeons That Surely Slaughter Adventurers ends up being incredibly cute too. A great early example involves kobolds. Once Aine and Nacht decide they're going to make adventurers miserable, they decide to train these normally week enemies that are used to fill dungeons due to being weak and breeding quickly into actually formidable foes. They look like pugs. The training process is goofy. The results made me smile. It's fun!
Dungeons That Surely Slaughter Adventurers is an unusual take on the slice-of-life style isekai story, but it's quite successful. It's absolutely silly and goofy, and it isn't afraid to go dark or dirty for a laugh. Which also means it can be just as shockingly fun when it occasionally ends up a little wholesome (in a warped humor sort of way) too.
Volume 1 of Dungeons That Surely Slaughter Adventurers is available now, and Yen Press will release the second volume of the isekai manga on August 25, 2026.

The Idol's Escape is one of those manga that might feel difficult to read, but carries an important message about kindness, consideration, and acceptance. It highlights the sort of acceptance and love we all deserve, but unfortunately don't always get. However, in the case of Ainosuke and Karen, it feels especially tense since each is overcoming abuse, running from terrible situations, and the tension Ito Kira created makes a happy ending seem unlikely.
Editor's Note: There will be some spoilers for The Idol's Escape manga below. Also, as a warning for those interested, the actual graphic novel discusses various sorts of mental, physical, and sexual abuse.
Ainosuke Kaminashi is going through a tough time. After being belittled by his father for being gay and not living a "proper" life and bullied by classmates, he's living alone and working at a love motel. He envies and admires the idol Karen Asahina, who's part of a group he's followed since high school, because she's cute, has a perfect voice, and thinks if he could be like her, maybe he'd actually be lovable.
But when he happens to meet Karen at the love hotel where he works after a coworker harasses him, he finds her life isn't as glamorous or grand even though she has the ideal appearance and talent he wish he did. Rather, after what she said was a "casting couch" situation gone wrong and a fear of being found or discovered, she uses the insurance card he accidentally gave her to find his home. After promising to teach him how to properly do his own makeup, he agrees to allow her to stay with him for a few days.
In the process, Ainosuke comes to a realization once Karen heads home about her life and current situation. In so doing, he realizes exactly what she might be going through and rushes to go see her again. After a critical moment, the two end up running away from it all. But because of her fame and the outcome of events, the police are after them and they need to be constantly aware of others possibly noticing them while they make memories.
In many ways, The Idol's Escape is absolutely heartbreaking. Ainosuke and Karen are both very broken in very different ways as a result of things they can't control about themselves. They're both desperate for love and acceptance. On the plus side, they do find that in each other and we see happier moments when they can support one another. But the circumstances and their responses to the situation show how broken they are and the way they're coping as it seems like they enjoy one last hurrah before the other shoe drops.
Likewise, we get these devastating relationships with authority figures in their lives. In the case of Ainosuke, we see how his father affected his life. But as a result of the way the story progresses, his father becomes a supporting cast member and we see his own regrets and struggles because he couldn't give his son the unconditional love and acceptance he needed at critical points. We see how human and flawed he is. Likewise, Karen's antagonist is someone who, it's explained, is someone she once had a positive relationship with! It's only as time passed that his own flaws and horrid impulses took over to essentially ruin everything.
The Idol's Escape is a story that inspires a lot of feelings in the reader and, while the subject matter in the manga isn't always pleasant, it makes you want to root for Ainosuke and Karen. Neither of them can help the situations they're in, and both of these teenagers deserved better.
The Idol's Escape is available via Yen Press.

Now that we have another mainline Resident Evil entry after several remakes, and Pragmata is coming up next month, Capcom's release schedule should be a bit clearer when it comes to major titles. And that vacuum, instead of being covered by more Resident Evil releases, should be filled with some love for Devil May Cry.
Last night, I finally finished Devil May Cry 5, Capcom's latest game in that franchise. It was an amazing experience, one that has really put into perspective how good Capcom can make a game look. The story itself is rather simple but very effective at what it does, i.e., providing a strong and interesting backdrop for our characters to exist and do their things in. It's flashy, the music is awesome, and I loved every second of it.
And then I realized it came out seven years ago, in 2019. In all that time, Capcom hasn't put out a single Devil May Cry game, remaster or remake (outside the mobile space). The HD Collection of the originals came out in 2018, a year prior to DMC5's launch, and it's been radio silence since. The company has focused most of its efforts on Resident Evil, and for a good reason: post-RE7, the franchise has been more popular than it ever was, outdoing and outselling itself time and again.
Whether it's remakes or mainline games, Resident Evil makes a crapton of money for Capcom, and deservedly so. Everything they've put out in that series has been phenomenal (with the controversial exception of RE3make, but that's up for debate), and fans have rewarded the company accordingly. But DMC fans have been left in the dark for far too long, and there really needs to be a reawakening of Devil May Cry like that of Resident Evil.
DMC5 certainly serves as a great starting point, and the cliffhanger ending of the game is the perfect segue into a sequel or spin-off. A lot remains to be told about the main cast of characters, and DMC5 set up many, many interesting stories and character arcs that would be amazing to see firsthand. Unfortunately, nothing has yet been announced, let alone confirmed, by Capcom.
Pragmata is the company's next major release, with hype slowly but surely building up around it, since it's going to break Capcom's recent tradition of focusing almost exclusively on its established franchises and IPs. From what we've seen so far, the game looks mighty fine and might jumpstart a whole new success story for Capcom to brag about (not that it doesn't have many of those already).
But after that, I certainly hope DMC gets some extra love. The old games are awesome, but some of them really deserve to be remade from the ground up and brought up to speed with modern gameplay and quality-of-life standards. Capcom did elevate DMC to a "core IP" last December (thanks PC Gamer), signaling it'll start producing new games, remasters, or remakes, but we haven't really seen much about that in these few months.
The summer is making its way toward us, though, and with it comes the Summer Game Fest. Whether or not Capcom has anything ready to share regarding the future of Devil May Cry remains to be seen, but I think there's no franchise in the company's repertoire that deserves to be considered more than DMC.

There are several key elements to master in Monster Hunter Stories 3, and one of them involves restoring different habitats.
The coverage of monsters isn't the same in all areas, but increasing their population will be helpful to you in the long run. You'll be eligible for better eggs, and in turn, better monsties, to add to your collection.
This guide will help you to understand everything that you need to know about restoring different habitats.
Table of contents
How to restore habitats in Monster Hunter Stories 3
For starters, you'll need to clear all content until you go up against the Invasive Yian Garuga. This is the first Invasive monster you'll face in the game, and it's part of the main campaign. Hence, you can't miss it by any chance.
Once you defeat the Yian Garuga, you can then release monsties in a region. Doing so will increase that particular region's Ecosystem Rank.
Let's now find out how to increase the Ecosystem Rank of a habitat.
How to raise Ecosystem Rank in Monster Hunter Stories 3
The Ecosystem Rank of a region is increased when you release a monstie. However, it increases more quickly when you encounter higher-level monsters. Additionally, adding mutated monsters (endangered or native) also helps to get the Ecosystem Rank up faster.
Here's a list of different benefits you get when the Ecosystem Rank is high.
Getting a mutation has extra benefits, as you have creatures with two elements (better to hit different weaknesses). The element your monstie inherits will depend on the region itself (for both slots).
Hence, there are plenty of benefits of restoring habitats and raising their Ecosystem Rank. Additionally, you'll need to do so to unlock every mutation that's currently available in Monster Hunter Stories 3.
