Kotaku Friday, March 18, 2022 6:10 PM Babylon's Fall came out earlier this month, and already it feels like it's on life support. The only reason it seemed to make any splash at all amidst the current release calendar onslaught was because of just how bad it is. Now publisher Square Enix is trying to reassure fans the new worst PS5 game isn't dead and… |
PCGamesN Friday, March 18, 2022 6:52 PM FFXIV Live Letter 70 has been confirmed for April, and it will provide what's likely the final set of details on patch 6.1 before the update's launch next month. The timing of this Live Letter also gives us a pretty good idea of when the new patch will actually release, too. FFXIV Live Letter 70 will air on Friday, April 1 at 4am PDT / 7am EDT / 12pm BST via YouTube and Twitch. On the official site, the devs note that this will include "part two" of the 6.1 reveal, as well as info on "miscellaneous updates". As with other Live Letters focused on smaller patches, there will be no live English translation. However, on-screen slides detailing major features will be translated, and the unofficial FFXIV Discord usually provides additional fan translations. With the Live Letter set for April 1, fans are already bracing themselves for all sorts of fake announcements to kick off the show - though the broadcast will mostly be made up of real info. (Probably.) The date means it's likely that patch 6.1 will launch on Tuesday, April 12, since updates almost always launch 11 days following the last Live Letter promoting them. Either way, you can expect the date to be confirmed as part of the broadcast. RELATED LINKS: The best MMOs on PC, FFXIV Reaper job guide, FFXIV Sage job guide |
PCGamesN Friday, March 18, 2022 6:19 PM Blizzard ran a stream dedicated to its upcoming FPS game, and while it was fairly light on concrete detail, it did at least provide us the Overwatch 2 beta release date. The first round of beta participants will be able to jump in by the end of April, and more players will be invited over time. The Overwatch 2 beta release date is April 26, 2022, and you can sign up on the official site - though you'll need to own Overwatch 1 to participate. The first beta will only be available on PC (and only on Windows machines), though the devs note in an FAQ that future betas will include console players. No progress will be carried over to the full game. Early beta participants will be selected "based on a variety of factors, including (but not limited to) your Battle.net region, when you signed up, and your computer hardware specifications". The Overwatch 2 system requirements have been out for a bit, so you can follow that link to see if your system is ready to check it out. PC Invasion - FeedDDD Friday, March 18, 2022 10:30 PM As if the industry wasn't already finding a variety of reasons to be excited over the Steam Deck and its promising future prospects, the new system has just gained another ace feature: Xbox Cloud Streaming support. Microsoft worked directly with Valve to ensure that the Steam Deck can fully support Xbox Cloud Streaming. Microsoft even put out a guide for Steam Deck users to follow to get things up and running properly. The only downside is that users have to use everyone's favorite Internet browser — Microsoft Edge. Are you tech-savvy enough? The actual process of getting everything set up isn't as easy as "1-2-3." Microsoft warns that even before you to get to the Edge portion of the process, you'll have to tinker around with the Linux desktop and some terminal commands. Accessing Xbox Cloud Streaming via the Steam Deck in its current form is objectively more complicated than any other device, such as a tablet or modest laptop. Even so, at... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Friday, March 18, 2022 7:00 PM When I reviewed the more recent Assassin's Creed games, Odyssey and Valhalla, I genuinely appreciated how Ubisoft embraced the fantasy and mythological aspects of the series. Fast-forward to the present, and we've got Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok, which is touted as the most ambitious expansion in the history of the franchise. You might think that an offering that delves further into Norse Mythology would be something I'd enjoy. Sadly, the overall presentation left a lot to be desired, even though there were some flashes of brilliance here and there. Welcome to Svartalfheim Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok puts you in the shoes of Odin (also known as Havi). Those who've played the base campaign would recall that Eivor is a reincarnation of the Norse god. As such, this tale is about the Allfather's attempts to rescue his son Baldr from the clutches of Surtr. In fact, you end up battling this foe during a prolo... |
