Siliconera Saturday, December 24, 2022 7:00 PM Crisis Core: FFVII Reunion had the highest retail launch sales for a non-mainline, Final Fantasy spin-off game in Japan. It sold 156,530 copies when it came out on December 13, 2022. However, it still falls short of the Final Fantasy Explorers launch, which sold 163,844, which first came out in December 2014. [Thanks, Game Data Library!] You can see the entire chart of Final Fantasy spin-off game retail launch numbers, including that of Crisis Core: FFVII Reunion here: https://twitter.com/GameDataLibrary/status/1606281951190519809 These numbers are only for Japan. Since this chart does not include digital sales, it is not completely accurate. Though the title for the PSP version of Crisis Core reflects the remake version, they are technically speaking different games. The retail launch for the original Crisis Core in September 2007 sold over 470,000 copies. That makes for a difference of about 313,470. Nonetheless, this is a great success for Square Enix. This is one of the biggest launches for a Final Fantasy game since FFVII: Remake and Final Fantasy XV. Leading up to the game's release, interviews confirmed that the game would remain faithful to the gameplay and story of the original Crisis Core. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Windows PC, and Nintendo Switch. Siliconera Saturday, December 24, 2022 5:00 PM The Naruto and Boruto Twitter account released early results for the NarutoP99 character popularity poll thus far. For those we are unfamiliar with it, this is a global survey in which the winner will appear in a short manga focusing on them. There have been a million votes at this point in time, though since people can vote more than once, this does not necessarily mean a million people have voted. The results so far are:
As a reminder, the winner of the Naruto survey will star in an original, new manga about them, so this is not an ordinary character popularity poll. There will also be official art from Kishimoto of the top twenty characters. This poll will last until January 31, 2023. You can vote once per day, and you can look up the name of the character you like to find them easily. After you put in your vote, there is a little manga panel of the character showing their gratitude, and you can share who you voted for on social media. We will know the results of the poll in April 2023. Naruto and Boruto are available on streaming services such as Crunchyroll. WGB, Home of AWESOME Reviews Saturday, December 24, 2022 7:12 PM Like a sleeper car with a highly tuned engine under the hood pulling up to the starting line, Need for Speed: Unbound arrived with almost no hype, despite developer Criterion returning for the first time since 2012. Leading up to its launch there had hardly been any marketing and review codes weren't handed out until launch day, usually an ominous sign that the publisher either doesn't have any faith in the game or that there are some big issues. But just like that sleeper car sitting on the line, when the flag drops Need for Speed: Unbound unleashes all that hidden potential. It's not the best racer out there, but it's the best game in the series for a long time and a lot of fun. Provided you can put up with the horrendous story, that is. |
