Riot Games' hugely successful MOBA is technically a free game, but if you ask any avid fan if that's the case, you'll no doubt receive a wry laugh in response. The 160-strong champion pool is diverse and wonderful; each character can be purchased with currency earned while playing - the premium cosmetics, however, are bought with real-world money. These cosmetics - skins, mainly - can be purchased directly using an in-game currency called RP. This itself is purchasable using your own hard-earned cash, though. LoL skins change the base look of the character you're playing, with premium cosmetics adding completely new effects, voice lines, and animations. There's also a battle pass that can be bought using RP which rewards you the more you play, so may seem like the most efficient way to spend your money. The crossover pack's announcement (via the Square Enix Extreme Edges Twitter account) did tease a few of the things we can expect to clean up, including the Seventh Heaven bar, and FF7's first boss the Guard Scorpion. Gohan and Piccolo from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero are the latest characters to come to Fortnite. Epic Games just revealed the crossover. However, while these two skins are new to 23.30, there are also returning activities and items too. If people missed it before, they can now visit Dragon Ball Adventure Island for activities. People can also once again get the Kamehameha attack and Nimbus Cloud (Kintoun) vehicle from the first event during Battle Royale and Zero Build until 23.40. The past Dragon Ball outfits will also eventually return too. As expected, people will need to buy the Gohan and Piccolo Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero stuff from the Fortnite shop to use them. The Hogan outfit lets you use its Gohan's Charging Up Emote to become a Super Saiyan. You can also select that style separately. People also get the Gohan Cape Back Bling with the outfit. People can pick up a Capsule No. 576 Glider or Gohan's Beast Axe Pickaxe to go with the ensemble. As for Piccolo, its Piccolo's Charging Up Emote changes to the Power Awakening version, though that style is also an option to choose. His outfit includes the Piccolo's Cape and Turban Back Bling and Demon Symbol Back Bling. You can also get a Handheld House Pickaxe or Red Ribbon Army Aircraft Glider. If people get a bundle, they also get a loading screen with the two together.
Dragon Ball Adventure Island remains a place inspired by the anime and manga series. Tenkaichi Budokai is the PVP arena there. People can also visit more peaceful spaces like Goku's House and the Room of Spirit & Time. It is at 5642-8525-5429. There is also a Gohan Beast Spray that can be earned via a Weekly Quest starting January 31, 2023. The Orange Piccolo Spray will be a Weekly Quest reward as of February 7, 2023. Fortnite is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, and mobile devices, and the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero crossover with Gohan and Piccolo is now live. Square Enix will release a Play Arts Kai figure of Zack Fair as he appears in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion. While he is the same character over both the original and the remake, there are some changes to his character design. For example, his bangs are a bit different. The Zack Play Arts Kai figure is available in both the Japanese and North America Square Enix stores. If you purchase the Zack Fair figure from the Japanese store, he costs 19,580 JPY. He is $189.99 from the North America store. Japanese customers can expect to see him on June 24, 2023. Meanwhile, those in North America will have to wait until October 2023. Like other Play Arts Kai figures, you can adjust his pose thanks to his ball joint limbs. He will also come with a Buster Sword, as well as tons of hand parts. While Fortnite is a western game, handled by Epic Games, its reach means a number of other series get pulled into it. This results in various collaboration items and events tied to famous titles. While there still aren't too many anime series represented in Fortnite yet, Shonen Jump skins already started showing up in the shop. Square Enix and FuturLab announced a free FFVII DLC for PowerWash Simulator. The official name of the DLC is the "Midgar Special Pack." There is release date as of yet. [Thanks, Gematsu!] In the Midgar Special Pack, you will be able to use your power washing skills to clean up familiar Final Fantasy VII locales, enemies, and objects. So far, we know that you can hose down "7th Heaven," "Hardy-Daytona," and "Guard Scorpion." 7th Heaven is the name of Tifa's bar, as well as AVALANCHE HQ. The Hardy-Daytona is Cloud's motorcycle, and the Guard Scorpion is the very first boss that Cloud encounters in the No. 1 Reactor. In PowerWash Simulator, the goal of the game is to clean up grimy environments and objects with your trusty power washer. That is pretty much the whole point of the game if you play it solo. There is also a multiplayer function where you can team up with your buddies. Despite its simplicity, many streamers have played it on stream as a background to zatsudan or as an excuse to draw inappropriate images. The FFVII Midgar Special Pack will be free DLC for PowerWash Simulator. However, there is no concrete release date as of yet. KLab announced that Love Live: School Idol Festival will end service on March 31, 2023. After that date, players will no longer be able to download or play the game. As of January 31, 2023, you are also unable to purchase any more paid content such as Love Gems, packs, or Passes. While some games offer refunds on paid content that you still own at the end of a game's life, KLab has not made any note about that on its announcement page for School Idol Festival. There is an e-mail for concerned players to reach out to. Since all Love Gems and tickets are valid until the game actually ends in late March 2023, you are likely meant to use them all up before then. Love Live: School Idol Festival is a free-to-play rhythm game based on the Love Live franchise. It originally came out in 2013 in Japan, which means that the game lasted around ten years. There was an arcade version available as well, though it shut down in 2021. School Idol Festival often ran collaboration events with other intellectual works. For example, it had a Persona crossover and a Code Geass one in the past. Love Live: School Idol Festival is readily available for mobile devices, and it will end service on March 31, 2023. Mark your calendars, because all January 31st from 2023 forth will officially be Final Fantasy VII Day. Final Fantasy VII Day is only valid in Japan. Square Enix announced that it has registered January 31st to be Final Fantasy VII Day with the Japan Anniversary Association. This is because Square Enix originally released it 26 years ago on January 31, 1997. [Thanks, Gematsu!] On Twitter, Yoshinori Kitase left an anniversary message. Kitase was the director of the original FFVII, as well as the producer of the Remake project. Not only was this a highly formative work for many gamers, but it came out at a time of rapid technological advancement. Figure makers Emon Toys announced a new Dark Souls figure of Solaire of Astora, as part of their deformed action figure series. The price of the figure is 8,580 yen (roughly $66), and it is scheduled to release sometime in May 2023. The figure includes multiple attachments, such as different sets of hands, weapons, and items from Dark Souls. [Thanks, Hobby Watch!] This new Solaire of Astora figure is a reproduction of the same figure that Emon Toys previously produced, albeit with its sized increased this time around. The new Solaire figure will be 11cm, or 4.5 inches tall. The body of the figure has multiple joints that allow for different poses. This way people can reproduce the iconic "Praise the Sun" emote. The figure includes a plethora of items, such as a bonfire, Solaire's sword and shield, an Estus flask, the Sunlight Maggot helmet, a Sunlight Spear spell effect, different sets of hands, and even a lower set of legs for Solaire to sit.
