Lasengle has now officially teased the silhouette for the last new Fate/Grand Order Servant of 2023, who will be the welfare Santa for Christmas. Completing the event will let you keep them permanently on your roster.
The silhouette of the Santa shows a female Servant with long pigtails while equipped with what looks like a cape, a sniper rifle, and a little beanie with a pom-pom on the end. Because of the hair and the nautical look of the sniper rifle, some comments suggest that it could be a Santa version of Nemo. The Servant's usage of a sniper rifle also makes it look like she'll either be an Assassin or an Archer.
The Christmas event will start on December 20, 2023. Players will need to first finish Lostbelt 6.5 (Traum) to participate. Since some players might not have gotten past Traum yet, Lasengle will implement some measures to make it easier for them to catch up. You will only need a quarter of the usual AP to play main quests up until Lostbelt 6.5.
You'll also get free continue items as log-in bonuses, so you don't have to worry if you fail a battle. More information on the 2023 Christmas Servant for Fate/Grand Order will come out closer to the release date of the event.
Fate/Grand Order is readily available on mobile devices. This Christmas 2023 Servant will only be on the Japanese server of Fate/Grand Order. Currently, a new Gudaguda event that'll net you Saika Magoichi upon completion is available in the game.

Sega has announced it's hiring new game developers for their upcoming Jet Set Radio reboot. You can find all the details about it on Sega's official website.
Sega also released a short interview with the developers regarding the new Jet Set Radio game. Development on the reboot has already started, so the new recruits being hired to the team will help bring the game's existing vision to life.
In the interview, they stated that they hope to hire people who are a little weird and can bring a unique point of view. The level designer for the game has also described the team's atmosphere as a place where "people who are serious about games are doing ridiculous things with a straight face."
As for who they're actually looking for, Sega is specifically looking to hire a senior planner. There are also hiring game programmers and developers but with no particular focus. The application is available in English. However, this is not a WFH position, which means Sega will likely prioritize applicants currently residing in and legally allowed to work in Japan. The office is in the Shinagawa district of Tokyo.
Jet Set Radio, or Jet Grind Radio, originally came out in 2000 for the Dreamcast. In the game, you play as a young gangster who uses inline skates to get around Tokyo, spray graffiti, and challenge rival games in battles where you spray graffiti on each other. The game received generally positive reviews. Sega first announced the new Jet Set Radio during TGA 2023, along with reboots of Shinobi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, and Crazy Taxi.
There is no information as of yet in regards to a release window or expected platforms for Jet Set Radio. Sega in Japan is still hiring new developers for the game.

Aladdin X, the developer of the popular Watermelon Game, has taken to Twitter to warn players about non-official merchandise. Apparently, fake Watermelon Game goods are appearing in crane games in Japan. [Thanks, Hobby Watch!]
News about the fake merchandise items first appeared on December 9, 2023. The picture that Aladdin X attached to its warning Tweet showed a crane game machine full of plushes that look like the winking watermelon players aspire to create.
So far, the only official Watermelon Game merchandise are stickers and clear folders. Any other goods are not legitimate and are fake. More information will come out if Aladdin X plans to release more items. Watermelon Game, or Suika Game, became a global phenomenon in the Fall of 2023 when streamers popularized the game.
While it's not a new release, its simple rules and surprisingly complex gameplay made it easy for anyone to pick up and start. Though it was originally exclusive to the Japanese eShop, Watermelon Game later appeared on global storefronts. Its popularity is no longer what it was during its heyday, with games like The Exit 8 now starting to gain attention instead.
Watermelon Game is readily available on the Nintendo Switch. Just like with the fake merchandise in crane games, all versions complaining to be Watermelon Game on other platforms are fake.

The new animated series Burn the Witch #0.8 will begin airing on December 29, 2023, in Japan. This series will be a prequel to the original Burn the Witch, which was written by Tite Kubo and takes place in the same universe as the popular series Bleach. [Thanks, Game Watch!]
In Japan, Burn the Witch #0.8 will be broadcast alongside the original Burn the Witch film that was released in 2020. Given that the movie can currently be streamed on Crunchyroll, there is a chance that Burn the Witch #0.8 can also be watched from the streaming site once it is released.
Burn the Witch #0.8 will once again follow the two main heroines, Noel Niihashi and Ninny Sprangcole, in "Reverse London," a counter of the city in which those that live there can see the dragons that plague the "real" London. These beasts cause 72% of all deaths in Burn the Witch #0.8's version of the English city. Noel and Ninny fight to protect the people from these creatures.
Burn the Witch #0.8 will air in Japan on December 29, 2023. The original series Burn the Witch can be streamed now on Crunchyroll.

HoYoVerse has announced that it released a Genshin Impact Required Resource Package for the PS4 version of the game. This is to better support how much storage the game takes up.
The Required Resource Package for Genshin Impact is already live, and it'll take up approximately 16.194 GB on your system. To download it, you simply need to search for it in the PlayStation Store. If you go to the game's page, you can also find it as an Add-On. From there, you will simply need to download it.
Though the page for the resource package does not give details beyond "better support the storage" of the game, it's likely to do with how the game handles updating itself for patches, as well as help with load time. PS4 players, for example, experience significant lag when loading into worlds or domains compared to PC, mobile, or PS5 players.
Comments on HoYoLab express relief that HoYoVerse is optimizing PS4 performance for Genshin Impact. Common complaints until the resource package, aside from the aforementioned load time, include how big each update is (thus bloating up the PS4's storage) and how long they take to download.
Genshin Impact is available on PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. The Required Resource Package is only for the PS4 version of the game, and you can find it in the PlayStation Store. Version 4.3 of Genshin Impact will go live on December 20, 2023.

Atlus has announced a world tour for Metaphor: ReFantazio, which is its upcoming fantasy RPG. It also released a statement about the game on its official Twitter account.
News for the world tour appeared during the live stream on December 11, 2023. Atlus first announced this broadcast during TGA 2023, which was also our first look at members of the main Japanese cast. There's not much information about the world tour except that it will also commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Atlus brand.
Judging by the description for the world tour, though, it looks like there will be booths at events around the world where players can experience a test build of Metaphor: ReFantazio. Aside from the world tour, Atlus has also released a statement on the setting for its upcoming RPG. Here is a translation of its Tweet:

Square Enix's latest insight into FFVII Remake design and development involved concept art of Tifa as a child in a different childhood costume. Her hairstyle was also different in this design.
First, here's a look at how Tifa looked in the outfit from her childhood that did make it into FFVII Remake. It is a plain, white dress with a black ribbon and additional accents. It also has pockets on the side. Her hair is long in the design. There's also a screenshot from the game that accompanied it, which offered extra insight into how it looked in the final product.
As for the alternate costume, there are five different color options for a different design. This FFVII Remake child Tifa costume showed her wearing a pair of overalls with boots. There is still a black bow on her shirt. Instead of her hair being long, she has it in pigtails for the whole design. There's also a bow in one of the pigtails. The description noted a goal was to show how happy and cheerful she is.
Square Enix regularly offers updates on past character design decisions, costumes, and concept art for FFVII Remake and Rebirth, though it's been a while since we'd seen Tifa. The last two characters detailed ahead of this drop were Cloud and Hojo. Cloud's showed him in the dress he could get to wear to meet Don Corneo, while Hojo's showed him in his everyday attire.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will come to the PS5 on February 29, 2024, with the console exclusivity arrangement ending on May 29, 2024. FFVII Remake is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. FFVII Ever Crisis is available now on both the PC and mobile devices.

Atlus released a Metaphor: ReFantazio "Creator's Voice" video with Director Katsura Hashino, Character Designer Shigenori Soejima, and Composer Shoji Meguro discussing the game while gameplay plays. It also goes over characters and their Archetypes.
As Hashino explained in the first few minutes of the video, people need to buy equipment to use magic. There's an over-reliance on spells to do things, and the characters in the party transform into Archetypes. As Hashino is explaining this, footage shows the players' avatar transforming into an Archetype in-battle to attack an opponent. These seem to be similar to Personas, as it's tied to an Awakening by talking with other people. So the Archetype of a warrior can awaken.
After that, Hashino noted that the competition to become king is essentially a popularity contest. People trying to become king are showing their own power to maintain their own positions and grow in power. Hashino then noted part of the game involves players "gathering support" for this election, while Metaphor: ReFantazio gameplay footage shows the hero speaking with Hulkenberg and Strohl while traveling on some sort of vehicle. During this portion of the video, Hashino compared this new game to Persona 5.

As part of the FFVII Ever Crisis Christmas and holiday event, there's an Aerith banner with a Snowflake Staff and Fairy of Snowfall costume. Two new videos show off the weapon in action and the live wallpaper for the outfit.
First, here's Aerith wielding the Snowflake staff against the Gingerbread Cactaur. As the name suggests, it has a giant snowflake on the end of it. Its C. Ability is Snowspell. That means it deals ice magical damage and reduces the enemy's magical defense. The staff also boosts the effectiveness of ice attacks and her HP when equipped.
Next, here's the live wallpaper of the FFVII Ever Crisis Christmas Aerith Fairy of Snowfall holiday costume. She's standing outside just as it is starting to snow in her winter coat. She's holding her hand out to catch some of the flakes, and you can tell how cold it is as you can see her breath. In her left hand, she's holding the new Snowflake staff people can get from the gacha.
Square Enix hasn't shared a look at the Barret part of this new banner yet. He ended up getting the new Microlaser in the update. This gun-arm has the Stalwart Faith C. Ability that casts Regen, heals, and increases someone's magical attack all at once when used.
We already knew about two other pieces of equipment and types of gear tied to this event. Tifa and Lucia appeared on the first banner. Tifa's outfit is inspired by the sorts of hats and costumes Santa would wear. Meanwhile, Lucia's is a general festive outfit with a red hat, puffy white accents, and green bows. It is unknown if we could see another banner for this event that could offer more holiday-themed Christmas clothing for other members of the roster. However, we did end up seeing three banners show up for the FFIX crossover in FFVII Ever Crisis, offering new looks for Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, and young Sephiroth.
Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available for the PC and mobile devices. The Aerith and Barret banner is available until December 25, 2023.
