Square Enix announced that a new live developer broadcast focused on FFVII Rebirth will appear at the Taipei Game Show 2024. The broadcast will be held on January 27, 2024, at 2 pm JST. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
It is unclear what type of content will be showcased during the broadcast. Still, the company announced that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth co-director Motomu Toriyama and battle director Kouki Endo will appear on stage. It was also announced that the FFVII Rebirth broadcast will last 50 minutes and appear during the Bandai Namco Program slot of the Taipei Game Show event.
Square Enix has been ramping up marketing for FFVII Rebirth ahead of the game's release. For example, the company recently released a new trailer for the game titled "Destined for Rebirth." In addition, new screenshots showcasing various characters like Yuffie using her doppelganger attack, the remake version of Dyne, as well as Cloud's date with Barret at the Gold Saucer.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will come out for the PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024, with the exclusivity arrangement ending on May 29, 2024. FFVII Remake is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC, and FFVII Ever Crisis is available on PC and mobile devices.

To help people prepare for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Square Enix shared a FFVII Remake story recap. The video is three minutes long and covers the major events and characters from the first entry in this new trilogy.
Things begin by showing Midgar, the setting of the first game. It shows how Mako is used to power the metropolis. Then, it shifts to show Avalanche, with Barret, Cloud, and Tifa working with them, to take down the Mako Reactors and fight back during the environmental crisis. Cloud meets Aerith as a result of this, as well as gets a Shinra target on his back. It then fast forwards to the dropping of the Sector 7 Pillar, destruction of a part of the city, Aerith's abduction, and return of Sephiroth.

Now that we're about a month away from its release, Square Enix ramped up announcements for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and brought up more details about the remake. There's a London event, for example. Details about the soundtrack's debut came up too. There's even a themed Square Enix Members reward.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will come to the PS5 on February 29, 2024, with the exclusivity arrangement ending on May 29, 2024. FFVII Remake is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC, and FFVII Ever Crisis is available on the PC and mobile devices.

I have never claimed to be good at Tekken. My first brush with the series was when I was in middle school and came upon a Tekken 3 arcade cabinet at a local amusement park. I converted the small amount of money my parents gave me for souvenirs and lunch into rolls of quarters to continue playing against other people who congregated at that single machine. And despite losing almost every bout, I loved playing Tekken.
Having had the opportunity to play Tekken 8 ahead of launch, I got a sample of what the game would offer. This included its Arcade Quest mode, which featured Ghost AI battles. Already fascinated by this and what it could mean to help players spot their own weaknesses and strengths, I immediately went to unlock this mode.
For those who don't know, the Ghost AI battles in Tekken 8 are you basically playing against yourself. The more you play against your Ghost, the more it learns and replicates your behaviors. Which is a great learning tool, in my opinion! As I continued to play, it quickly spotted one of my more immediate weaknesses as a player: My stubbornness and unwillingness to block.
I play many games with the mentality of "kill it before it kills you." I operate on this logic for almost anything — League of Legends, Final Fantasy, you name it. If I can do more damage than my opponent, I will absolutely try because, in my eyes, the best defense is a strong offense. And this has translated in the way that I play Tekken. At any opening, I will dive in on the offensive. Considering newcomer Victor is my main, it suits my style well.
But there's one problem. I just don't know how to block properly or side-step. Granted, I haven't touched Tekken 7 since it was released. But my Ghost AI immediately made it clear that if I wasn't going to block, I wouldn't have a real chance against any opponent, and nothing is more humbling than kicking your own ass.
As soon as a match would start, my Ghost AI would dive forward, knocking me into an air combo and finishing up with one of Tekken 8's new Heat Moves, smashing me into the ground only to air juggle me again and kill me. I was genuinely surprised at how competent the Ghost AI was, in fact it was so humbling that I was forced to forego my usual playstyle and learn how to block.
I believe the Ghost AI feature in Tekken 8 has already made me a better player, even if I still reflexively go on the offensive. But at least I now know how to read my opponent better (even if it is just myself) and improve. And you know what, I consider that a win.
Tekken 8 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

There's a new update on Stardew Valley 1.6 from Eric "Concerned Ape" Barone. It is both going to be bigger than expected and it is now in the bug testing phase ahead of a 2024 release.
There's no release window for this Stardew Valley update yet. However, this announcement does mean it is closer to release. Barone noted that from now all that's left is this "polishing" portion.
Here's the official announcement going over the 1.6 patch's progress.
In follow-up replies, Barone offered more details. The first was saying, "yes absolutely" when asked if it would appear in 2024. When clarifying things later, the developer noted it will be on PC first, but there will be hopefully a smaller gap between releases on other platforms.
Another reply commenting on the size of this update noted, "Hard to compare, because 1.5 was all about a big NEW area, whereas 1.6 is about adding more to the old stuff in the game, with a lot of little things."
Some of the previous social media posts covered things people can expect in the game. There will be a new festival and people can use a Big Chest for storage.
Stardew Valley is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PCs, mobile devices, and the PlayStation Vita, and the 1.6 update should appear in 2024.

KLab announced it is working on a "hybrid-casual" mobile game with the Palworld developer Pocketpair. There's no release date yet.
All details about this new project are quite scarce. It is going to be a mobile title. The official announcement specifically referenced smartphones. Another part of the announcement noted the goal will be to "generate revenue from both in-game purchases and advertisements." It's unknown if this will be based on an original IP or one of Pocketpair's other titles.
However, KLab did confirm this collaboration has been in the works for a while. During its reveal, it noted that things kicked off in 2020. As a reminder, some of KLab's games include Bleach: Brave Souls, Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team, and Lapis RE:LiGHTs. As for Pocketpair, it is also known for AI: Art Imposter and Craftopia. In addition, it also has Never Grave: The Witch and The Curse entering early access in 2024.
There's no social media update on Palworld sales for today yet. The last one arrived on January 25, 2024 and confirmed it hit eight million.
Palworld is in early access for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. There's no release window yet for the new KLab and Palworld developer Pocketpair mobile game.
