Iron Gate has pulled the Valheim community channel and warns players not to accept any invites or links to the Valheim Discord until further notice. Valheim's publisher reports that administrator accounts were taken over by hackers, who shared links ostensibly to innocent downloadable files. These links were instead part of a phishing scam designed to upload executables onto targets' PCs. Players report that these executables are seemingly designed to obtain cookie and personal data. While its primary competitors all chose team red, the MSI Claw needed a unique selling point, and believes it found this with Intel. However, we seem to be missing one key spec that was leaked in the lead-up to CES, and can't help but wonder if it's being held for a future model. The Elder Scrolls V remains the archetype of a certain variety of open-world game. Vast, rich, and designed entirely around allowing the player to do what they like, Skyrim winds you up with a strong narrative premise then sets you down and lets you go. Compare that to Fallout New Vegas, Obsidian's valiant return to Black Isle classic, also renowned for its openness and breadth. On the surface, they're very similar. In Skyrim, you're the Dragonborn and you need to kill Alduin. In New Vegas, you're the Courier and you need to settle who controls the Hoover Dam. And everything that happens in between is up to you. But there are subtle yet significant differences between Skyrim and New Vegas, between Bethesda's work and Obsidian's. Gamers can achieve generally between 50-120fps at 1080p with medium detail settings in many modern games. When AMD announced the 8000G range, they claimed figures such as over 60fps in Cyberpunk 2077 with the 8700G. Not only had we cleared out the 42nd floor of the cursed extra-dimensional horror house that was our school's midnight alter-ego, I'd also just aced my midterms. I spent the afternoon helping my french foreign exchange friend sew a kimono for his estranged uncle, then killed some time before bed by consoling the small child I'd been hanging out with lately about her parent's divorce. So goes an average day in one of the very, very many days stuffed into Persona 3 Reload's year long taste of demon-slaying high school life. A charming fantasy? Perhaps! There's plenty here for fans who don't mind an old-school approach to grinding while exploring heartfelt, albeit cheesy, friendships. Those who don't get on with anime tropes, though, might find it exhaustingly written and repetitive. |

Made in just "a week(ish)", Celeste 64: Fragments Of The Mountain channels the spirits of Super Mario 64 and Banjo Kazooie as it tasks players with collecting dozens of strawberrys hidden around its snowy 3D landscape. It's well worth checking out if you've got a spare minute or so, though given how rock hard it is you may want to put aside a good hour or so if you want to truly master its controls and uncover every last secret. |
