Kumamoto Prefecture announced the release of the custom Kumamon Island map for Fortnite. The map is a business simulation game that will appear in Fortnite on January 31, 2024. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
The Kumamon Island game map was developed using Fortnite's Creative Mode tools by the Kumamoto Prefectural government in collaboration with advertisement company CyberAgent. The map was revealed during a Kumamoto Fortnite Press Conference to promote Kumamoto Prefecture. The custom map will take approximately 40 to 60 minutes to complete.
Kumamon Island is designed to have gameplay similar to that of Tycoon-style games. The setup for the game involves helping various Kumamon in developing a Kumamon robot to promote Kumamoto to the rest of the world, and helping them solve the problems that arise through the robot's construction. Several of Kumamoto's tourist landmarks and local products will appear as part of the map, and players will have to build Kumamoto Castle as one of the steps to finish the production of the robot.

The decision to make this map is the response of the Kumamoto Prefectural office wanting to promote the burgeoning local semiconductor industry through the Metaverse. An official website explaining more about Kumamon Island and the real-life elements present in the game is also expected to open soon.
Kumamon Island is the first Fortnite map created by an official Japanese governmental office. However, in the Japanese entertainment industry, Hololive Vtuber Mori Calliope received a Fortnite custom map intended to promote the Vtuber's MoriZakura cherry blossom liqueur.
Fortnite is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. The map code for Kumamon Island will appear on January 31, 2024, at 10 am JST.

Elcoco announced the release of new NieR Automata Ver1.1a arcade prizes that include Pod figures that can hold drinks, and miniature accessory stands featuring the clothes of 2B, 9S, and A2.
There are figures of both Pod 042 and Pod 153 available, and each one stands at 19.5cm (or about 7.68 inches) tall. Each figure includes a rounded indentation in its base to hold glasses and other drinks, and the arms of the pods make them look like they're holding them for you. Meanwhile, the accessory stands can be used to display and hold rings, accessories, and other small items.
Both the Pod figures and 2B, 9S, and A2 miniature accessory stands are set to release in late July 2024, and will be available as prizes in amusement centers and arcades throughout Japan.

A handful of Palworld Digimon mods appeared on Nexus Mods courtesy of SV BOY and FrancisLouis. SV BOY created ones of Gabumon, Omegamon, and Tyrannomon over the past week, while FrancisLouis created a Garurumon one.
All of these Digimon Palworld mods are Pal replacement ones. This means an existing character in your PC version of the game will be replaced with the new model. Here's the full list of what each one changes:
The installation method for all of them is the same. You need to go into the directors in Steam to find Palworld, then place the new .pak files in the Palworld\Pal\Content\Paks folder. FrancisLouis also mentions making a "mods" folder in the "Paks" one. The Nexus Mods file download page for each also has the manual and mod manager download options.
Here's how all of the four mods look. First, here are FrancisLouis' screenshots of Garurumon. Note that in-game it will still list the character as Eikthyrdeer.
Next, here are SV BOY's Digimon mods. In this case, both standard and "Lucky" versions of Gabumon and Tyrannomon are shown.
It isn't uncommon for such mods to appear. For example, some mods appeared that added Topaz and Numby from Honkai: Star Rail to the game.
Palworld is in early access for the PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

HoYoVerse shared the requirements to start the 2.0 Honkai: Star Rail Trailblaze Mission "Long Day's Journey into Night." It also listed the seven kinds of rewards people will earn for finishing it.
The requirements aren't too restrictive for the first 2.0 Honkai: Star Rail Trailblaze Mission. You basically need to just be completely caught up with the campaign. That means you had to finish all of the Xianzhou Luofu Trailblaze Missions before you can "head" to the new world. If you already cleared the Karmic Clouds Faded, War Banners Folded "Obsequies Performed, A Long Road Ahead" mission, then you are good to go. You can immediately pick up "Long Day's Journey into Night" and head to Penacony.
As for the rewards, they're the typical ones we tend to get for Trailblaze Missions in the game. You'll get some of the both types of currency, so Credits and Stellar Jades will be doled out. You'll earn experience for your level too. There will be music acquired for the Astral Express jukebox. Finally, Lost Crystal, Refined Aether and Traveler's Guide experience materials for Relics, Light Cones, and characters will be doled out. No increments were noted in the announcement.
In addition to the new story update and region, two new characters will join the cast in 2.0. The two new five-stars will be Black Swan and Sparkle, while Misha will be a four-star.
Honkai: Star Rail is available for the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the 2.0 update will arrive on February 6, 2024.

Sega revealed more details about the second Nijisanji collaboration wave in PSO2: New Genesis at the January 2024 NGS Headline program. After previously announcing a teaser in December 2023, the company has shown how Amamiya Kokoro, Nagao Kei, Matsukai Mao, and Yorumi Rena will actually look like in the new Phantasy Star Online game.
The main highlight of this collaboration will be the Virtual Liver Style '24 scratch ticket, which will go live on February 14, 2024. Players will have a random chance to obtain avatar parts modeled after the Vtubers. In addition to dakimakura pillows featuring each Vtuber, the scratch ticket will also include Kei's katana and Rena's staff as actual weapon camos.
This wave will also add Nijisanji-based content for features that did not exist in PSO2: New Genesis when the first wave launched in February 2023. They include Vital Gauges that customize players' health bar visuals, Portable Holograms that players can place on fields, and Build Parts for Creative Spaces.
All players who log into the game daily during the collaboration period will be able to obtain a special poster featuring the four Vtubers and stickers based on their signatures. The Region Mags, which players have to feed regularly to obtain buffs, will also have a Nijisanji-themed decoration during the event.
The VTubers in question will also hold special live streams where they actually play the online game with their own avatar designs. Nagao Kei and Yorumi Rena will hold the first collab stream on February 20, 2024, while Amamiya Kokoro and Matsukai Mao will have theirs on February 22, 2024. Both streams will launch at 9 PM JST / 7 AM ET.
Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is available worldwide on PC and PlayStation 4. The free-to-play online game is also playable on Nintendo Switch via a cloud version in Japan and on Xbox One elsewhere worldwide. Intelligent Systems revealed a new 1/7 scale figure modeled after the female Alear from Fire Emblem Engage. The static figure will come pre-painted and stand at approximately 255mm (10.04in) tall. There has been a surge of Fire Emblem Engage merchandise announcements after a whole year has passed since the strategy RPG came out on Nintendo Switch on January 20, 2023. Takara Tomy Arts is gradually releasing the Engage Rings seen in the game as capsule toys obtainable from gashapon machines. Empty will also release the second wave of character keychains, badges, and standees in March 2024.
Intelligent Systems and Good Smile Company will close pre-orders for the 1/7 scale figure of female Alear from Fire Emblem Engage on May 2, 2024. The figure will officially appear in Japan in February 2025 and in North America in Q3 2025.

Good Smile Company is now accepting pre-orders for the Steins;Gate Makise Kurisu Wedding Dress version bride figure. The figure will cost $143.99 or ¥21,700, depending on the store you go through, and is to available to order until March 14, 2024.
The figure, which was previously shown off as an unpainted prototype, is a 1/7 scale one and stands at approximately 260mm tall. The figure is not articulated and does not come with any extra parts, but is mounted on a base shaped like the lab member pin badge from the show. Orders from Good Smile's US store will cost $143.99 and ship in quarter 2 of 2025, while orders from the Global store will cost ¥21,700 and are expected to ship in December, 2024.

Kurisu previously appeared in a merchandise lottery by Magic Kuji Online, featuring illustrations of her in seasonal-themed outfits. Mages and Nitroplus also opened up a new website to celebrate the Steins;Gate series' 15th anniversary back in September, 2024.

As good as the Fate/ series is, those of us outside of Japan always ended up a bit left out. We'd get all these spin-offs and other adaptations, but the original story eluded us. Like imagine you started with City Slickers 2 instead of the original City Slickers. (Okay, that's not such a bad idea, since The Legend of Curly's Gold is the superior film.) But now Type-Moon and Aniplex announced Fate/Stay Night Remastered, obviously a remaster of the original game, with an English language option. And frankly? We deserve this.
As a refresher for those wondering why we didn't see Fate/Stay Night in English before now, well, it had adult content! Because it was a "mature" game, it didn't show up 20 years ago when it debuted on PCs in Japan in 2004. Because the anime and manga removed that content, companies like Crunchyroll, Sentai Filmworks, and Tokyopop picked them up.
However, we also have to remember that once the console versions of the game started appearing on the PlayStation 2 and Vita, it happened at a time when visual novels weren't popular worldwide yet. Now if a visual novel tied to a popular series, such as Konosuba, we're probably going to see it worldwide! Type-Moon's Witch on the Holy Night only appeared in 2022 worldwide, and we're getting the first part of the Tsukihime remake in 2024.
Do you know how many Fate/ series video games appeared in English worldwide before this Fate/Stay Night Remastered reveal? Seven. There was Fate/Extra (PSP), Fate/Extella (PS4, Vita, Switch, PC), Fate/Extella Link (PS4, Switch, PC), Fate/Grand Order (mobile), Fate/Samurai Remnant (PS4, PS5, Switch, PC), and Fate/Unlimited Codes (PSP), and Everyday Today's Menu for Emiya Family (Switch). Think about that last one. We even got the Cooking Mama-like spin-off.
Frankly, once Fate/Grand Order launched worldwide and was shown to be a success, we should have seen Fate/Stay Night. To have it take this long boggles my mind.
Because really, this has been building for so long. People already know and love all the main Servants who are a part of this series. The Artoria Pendragon version of Saber is so recognizable, she's essentially become a household name in anime circles. Fate/Grand Order remains one of the more popular mobile gacha games. The level of familiarity means the demand is there for us to finally get to play the game.
Most importantly is this one critical detail: we know Fate/Stay Night is good. This is a critically acclaimed game. It's beloved. It'd have to be to inspire so many adaptations, tie-ins, and spin-offs. The Fifth Holy Grail War is a fascinating concept, the story is interesting, and the characters have genuine depth to them.
Fate/Stay Night Remastered will come to the Switch and PC in Japanese, English, and Simplified Chinese worldwide in 2024.

Square Enix announced the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster PC games now each got a patch that includes Font Type and BGM (background music) update. Both options originated in the PS4 and Switch versions of the games and are part of the Steam versions' 1.1.0 update.
While the patch notes for each title may have some additional variations and features, the three "major new features" are present in each one. This means that all six Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster PC games on Steam now have a patch that lets you switch between the "classic" or "modern" style font types, the original or arranged BGM soundtrack, and choose if you use cheats. The cheats are billed as "assistance features" that let you adjust increase (or eliminate) the amount of things like EXP and gil earned from battles. The company didn't share screenshots or a trailer showing the changes, however.
However, some of the minor additions also appear throughout the different titles. Some of these new options include the ability to see each game's bestiary while in the game, rather than via returning to the main menu, and set your movement speed. You can also load a new save from the in-game menu, instead of just saving.
To go along with the changes, there is also a sale on every Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster title on Steam. It is 20% off individual titles and 38% off the bundle of all six. So the bundle is $59.84 until February 13, 2024, the first two games are $9.59 each, and FFIII through FFVI are $14.39 each.
The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games are available on the PC, PS4, Switch, and mobile devices, and the update to patch 1.1.0 is live for all six games on Steam. The Steam sale on the titles will run until February 13, 2024.

While Visions of Mana will be on the Xbox Series X and PC, it will not be among the Xbox Game Pass games at launch. Eurogamer learned from Microsoft will not be a part of the subscription service when it debuts in Summer 2024. [Thanks, Eurogamer!]
The question came up as it briefly appeared on the official Xbox site according to Karim Jovian and Idle Sloth. However, Microsoft then noted this is an error. Visions of Mana won't be an Xbox Game Pass game for the console and PC at launch. However, the comment from Microsoft did note that it is only not part "at this time." Due to the nature of the service, this could change.
It isn't uncommon for Square Enix games like Visions of Mana to show up on the service. For example, all of the Final Fantasy games capable of running on Microsoft platforms were a part of the library at one point. NieR: Automatawas there too. However, as of time of writing there are no notable Square Enix RPGs currently part of Xbox Game Pass.
Visions of Mana, which was originally announced in December 2023, will come out for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and WIndows PC via Steam in Summer 2024.
