Fist of the North Star manga author Tetsuo Hara drew a special illustration of Imperator Furiosa from the Mad Max series of movies ahead of the release of the upcoming Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga movie. In addition, Warner Bros announced that the illustration will also be featured on the cover of the next issues of the Japanese film magazine Eiga HiHo.
The issue of Eiga HiHo will release in Japan on May 21, 2024. The artwork depicts the character of Furiosa with her iconic buzz cut and prosthetic left arm, while wielding a revolver on her right hand. You can take a better look at the illustration here:

FuRyu Prize announced that coming this Fall 2024, a new figure of Hatsune Miku will be available as a prize in arcades across Japan. This particular one is a member of FuRyu's specialized merchandise designed as arcade prizes for crane games.
Here is the original announcement, which includes the concept art for the figure's design.
Ashima (アシマ), a well-known illustrator on Pixiv, created the concept art of this Miku, and FuRyu recreated the intricate detailing and ornate design choices in the figure.
FuRyu Prize are the creators of the Trio-Try-iT line, a series that it noted is designed to be creative and innovative. The character merchandise is also tailor-made for crane games and arcades in Japan. As such, the company will commission artists and illustrators with unique art-styles for the items. It will then attempt to interpret them as closely as possible as a real PVC Figures.
However, it is possible this figure could eventually appear worldwide. Sometimes other retailers will pick up the items and sell them outside Japan. For example, Good Smile Company started taking pre-orders for the NieR: Automata 2B noodle stopper in May 2024.
The Trio-Try-iT Hatsune Miku figure will debut in amusement facilities across Japan in Autumn 2024.

Another Eiyuden Chronicle patch is live for the PS4, PS5, and PC, with this one fixing things like progression problems and the PS5 resolution issue. The update will eventually also appear for the Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
Two of the issues only pertain to specific platforms. For example the new patch lets the PS5 version of Eiyuden Chronicle resolution run at 4K. Previously, it had been limited to 1080p. The PS5 and PC Season Pass barcade changed as well.
There are also three progression related issues fixed in the Eiyuden Chronicle PS4, PS5, and PC patch. One would keep people from advancing the story if the HQ level passed two in certain circumstances. The other could lock things up in a Marisa section of Castle Harganthia, again when a specific issue happens. Finally, the other progression issue meant someone could get to Norristar when they weren't supposed to if they started a New Game Plus save file.

The last PS4, PS5, and PC patch fixed other game-breaking issues. Some involved disappearing characters. Earlier in May 2024, a patch fixed the Cooking Battle minigame on the Switch.

An official collaboration event for the NieR game series will be held at the World Cosplay Summit 2024. The event will appear between August 2-4, 2024 at the Aichi Arts Center in Nagoya, and more information will appear in late May 2024.
The collaboration will consist of three different events, which will be taking place on the Oasis 21 special stage on August 4, 2024. The first one is the NieR World Cosplay Report 2024. It will be a photo contest. Participants can cosplay any character from the NieR series, and they can be of nationality or place of residence. Cosplay photos taken in the past are accepted, including invididual, pair, and group photos.
From the submitted pictures, 10 notable entries will be selected and awarded special prizes. The most outstanding winner will receive a trophy, and the other 9 winners will receive signed autographs and other special gifts. These will be announced during the World Cosplay Summit 2024. Applications for the NieR World Cosplay Report 2024 will be available between June 1 to July 14, 202 from the World Cosplay Summit 2024 official website.
The second event will be the "Cosplay Summit Selection with NieR." A special NieR-themed cosplay runway will be featured at the Oasis 21 special stage on August 4. Participants will be able to apply online all throughout the month of June 2024. In the case of too many cosplayers applying for the runway, the World Cosplay Summit management office will select the participants.
Meanwhile, the third and final event will be the "Otaku Judge NieR:QuizMaster12024 Prestige." This will be a themed quiz, and it will appear ahead of the Fall 2024 collaboration event with the Otaku Judge mobile quiz app. 10 participants who answer the quiz correctly will receive special goods and prizes. Once again, the location will be the Oasis 21 special stage on August 4, and admission to the quiz will be free of charge.
As a reminder, NieR series producer Yosuke Saito recently said that he is in talks with series director Yoko Taro and composer Keiichi Okabe to work on a new game that "might be NieR, or might not be NieR."

Picking up Lorelei and the Laser Eyes feels like taking a step into a cryptic past, when rumors of Polybius were flitting among arcade goers and a night of entertainment meant a crossword puzzle or two. Unique and addicting, Lorelei and the Laser Eyes provides a fun and rewarding experience for either a single person or group of gamers.
Like Lorelei and the Laser Eyes itself, the story does not immediately reveal itself to you. It takes a bit of time and sleuthing before the yarn starts to unravel. When the game starts, you know very little about your character, a smartly-dressed woman who looks like she'd fit right in a noir spy film. As you piece together clues from dialogue and readable items, you learn that an eccentric man invited you to a secluded hotel, which houses strange puzzles, art exhibits, magic shows, and plenty of mysteries. And a dog too, which you can pet.
The puzzles range between pleasantly easy and surprisingly difficult, but none of them feel like cop-outs. You truly have almost everything you need at your fingertips, or they're a few steps away. Some of them are incredibly easy, such as one requiring basic knowledge of Roman numerals or our English alphabet. But then you'd encounter one that makes you stare at it, feeling like you're rubbing every single brain cell you have and getting nothing in return.
I vividly remember realizing the solution to a puzzle as I was falling asleep and then shooting up, wide awake, just to turn on Lorelei and the Laser Eyes and rush to the location to input my answer. I was right, and that rush of serotonin was so strong that I continued to play until the sun was in the sky.
Part of the appeal lies in its more old school way of doing things. It brought me back to when I was a child, sitting in the waiting room of my piano teacher's house and hunched over a book of riddles and whodunnits with a pen and notebook in hand. The Discord server I have for myself was full of pictures, notes, equations, and scribbles. I called on my roommate for help, as well as provided the puzzles without any context to my friends when I was stuck. Some of the puzzles prompted pretty lively discussion and I found it fascinating that this game, which can feel so isolating as you wander around the dreary hotel on your own, could bring so many people together without even being in my friends' hands.
"Beautiful" might not be the first word that pops to mind when you see Lorelei and the Laser Eyes. Indeed, according to Simogo's development blog, that wasn't the goal. But there's something gripping about the retro aesthetic. I loved how clean and crisp the black-and-white color scheme is, with everything easily visible despite the grainy filter and odd textures. When colors appear, they pop, and they're so eerie against the dark backdrop that they really stick in your mind. For a game that seems to do so little with its appearance, its blend of its many inspirations make for a singularly unique experience.
This is one of those games that I'll think about even after I finish it. As of the time of writing, I still have quite a few mysteries to uncover, as there are some puzzles that just well and truly stumped me. The world it presents is a cryptic one, reminding me of old conspiracy theories from before my time, but it keeps you coming back for more, hankering to pull back the curtains and unlock the doors to discover the secrets behind them.

Sanrio and Sunblink announced yet another Hello Kitty Island Adventure update, with a new event, new weather, and face and back accessories now present as of 1.7. All of the new features also came up in a newly released trailer.
The video begins with a look at the new weather. There is now Starfall, which looks like a meteor shower. When it happens, Starchests and Stardrakes will be available. That's followed by a look at underwater life and related decorations. Those are tied to the Under the Sea event. There will be different color mermaid tails to get as part of that. The orange one, in particular, shows up in the footage.
It's after that when new customization options involving decorations in1.7 come up. The creation station is shown first. It highlights how someone could make different types of candles and use dye to color them. This appears to be tied to Wish me Mell, as she's shown helping in the video. The only thing that doesn't appear are the face and back accessories in Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

This is the second update to appear in May 2024. The first involved an array of Gudetama items and events for the Month of Meh. That also meant a chance to see Nisetama-san and get new items. Nisetama-san isn't a permanent islander like Wish me Mell, however.

Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer Live LXXXI, Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida and Global Community Producer Toshio "Foxclon" Murouchi briefly discussed the PvP update schedule that will be in place after the FFXIV Dawntrail 7.0 update and ensuing 7.1 patch. The bulk of the changes seem to be happening after 7.0.
The main initial changes are that both the Pictomancer and Viper, the two new FFXIV Dawntrail jobs, will both be a part of the initial 7.0 patch. This means both will be available to use in PvP. The announcement confirmed they will have unique actions and limit breaks tied to them.
The other changes will come around the 7.1 updates. The FFXIV Dawntrail PvP won't have a new Crystalline Conflict season right away. There will be a ranked preseason during that time instead. Only your Crystal Credit and tiers will change. The other action additions and changes and map changes won't arrive until 7.1.
As a reminder, Crystalline Conflict is honestly relatively new to FFXIV, as the PvP mode only debuted as part of Endwalker in April 2022. The first season was a part of the 6.1 patch.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Dawntrail expansion debuts on July 2, 2024.

Ubisoft released a clarification that stated that the upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows won't require a constant connection and be always online in order to play. Fears arose that the game might be require after it was seen that the game would require a connection to install on places like the PlayStation Store.
The statement was released on social media after the community voiced concerns that the game would require a constant internet connection, even while playing singleplayer. Thankfully, the concerns appear to be unfounded, but the game will still require a connection to install even if players buy the physical copy. Additionally, PC players will be required to sign in to their Ubisoft account and install the Ubisoft Connect app in order to play, even if bought on another service like Steam.

Assassin's Creed Shadows was announced yesterday with a full cinematic trailer showcasing the characters and Japanese setting. The game will feature two protagonists, the shinobi Naoe and the historical figure Yasuke, the first African samura.
Assassin's Creed Shadows will require an online connection to install, but it will not be a mandatory always online game while playing in single player. The game itself will launch for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on November 15, 2024.

Prime 1 Studio revealed a new 1/4 scale figure set from the super robot anime show Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann will launch in 2025, and it features four characters in the statue. "Our Hearts Pierce the Skies" will depict the title's main characters Simon, Kamina, and Yoko on top of Simon's Gunmen unit Lagann.
The studio also opened global pre-orders for the statue set. The set will be available in two editions. The Regular Version will cost $1,699.00, and it will simply contain the base statue set with LED lights on the Lagann's eyes. The set will have an overall height of around 97 cm (~38.19 inches) and weigh approximately 28.3 kg (~62.39 lbs).

The Deluxe Bonus Version will have a higher price tag of $1,899.00. However, it will come with many alternate parts. This set will contain extra head parts of Simon, Kamina, and Yoko wearing their iconic goggles and glasses. It will also include a swappable hand part for Simon and an alternate muffler for Yoko that has Boota the Pigmole attached to it.
This product will add a new entry to Prime 1 Studio's list of expensive scaled statues based on popular game and anime franchises. The studio has previously revealed statues modeled after characters from Street Fighter 6, Horizon Forbidden West, and KonoSuba.
Prime 1 Studio will start shipping the "Our Hearts Pierce the Skies!" Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann 1/4 scale statue set of Simon, Kamina, and Yoko on the Lagann between August 2025 and November 2025.

The Final Fantasy XIV and Fall Guys collaboration event is set to return to the game on May 23, 2024, and it will run until June 10, 2024. The announcement came during the 81st Letter from the Producer livestream.
The Fall Guys collaboration event was originally announced back at the 2023 Las Vegas Fan Fest, and it debuted on Halloween that same year. The event features obstacle courses to compete on and a variety of rewards to earn, including outfits and emotes. When the event first arrived, Square Enix stated that it would return but only at "irregular intervals". During this latest livestream, FFXIV Director Naoki "Yoshi-P" Yoshida elaborated that this was part of the agreement with the collaboration partner.

During the livestream, Yoshida also addressed some of the recent DDOS attacks the game was targeted by, as well as revealing some new information on the upcoming Viper class, set to arrive with the Dawntrail expansion.

Cover revealed Magical Girl holoWitches as a new multimedia project featuring Hololive Vtubers. Content from this new project will be available in anime, manga, and live-stream formats.
The project will primarily feature the following six Japanese Hololive Vtubers: Amane Kanata, Sakura Miko, Himemori Luna, Houshou Marine, Murasaki Shion, and Sakamata Chloe. holoWitches will also have two original fairies voiced by prominent Japanese voice actresses. Rie Takahashi will voice the white fairy Aelu, while Aoi Yuuki will perform as the black fairy Lagu.

In addition, Cover has also revealed new merchandise themed after holoWitches. The items range from acrylic stands to rubber mats and a material book from the first trailer. Pre-orders for these items are available worldwide via GeekJack and the Hololive Production Official Shop.
holoWitches will join the ever-growing list of original projects Cover has made to expand its Hololive franchise. Prior examples include the horror game Hololive Error and the metaverse game Holoearth. Cover has also established a Holo Indie brand to help indie developers release Hololive-themed games, such as Holo X Break and Idol Showdown.
The first chapter of the Magical Girl holoWitches comic is immediately available to read on the project's Japanese website. An anime adaptation of the project is also under production.

During the Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer Live LXXXI, FFXIV Global Community Producer Toshio "Foxclon" Murouchi and Director and Producer Naoki "Yoshi-P" Yoshida announced the release of the Immerse Gamepack Version 2.2 update. In addition, the 30-day free trial have been renewed for all players.
Version 2.2 of the FFXIV Immerse Gamepack offers a significant quality upgrade to HRTF (Head-related transfer function,) offering an improvement in clarity and fidelity, especially in higher frequency sounds. Other changes include smoother directional sound transitions, as well as new device management options. As a reminder, the Final Fantasy XIV Immerse Gamepack is only available for Windows PC users.
Players that previously used the 30-day free trial for the FFXIV Immerse Gamepack can now use it again with the release of the new Version 2.2. Foxclon also explained that Embolden updated the Immerse Gamepack setup and method to take pictures of your ears to be more accommodating for players.
Furthermore, the Immerse Gamepack Final Fantasy XIV Edition costs $19.99 and is available as a one-time payment of $19.99 from the Embolden official website. The FFXIV Immerse Gamepack sound upgrade initially lasted 14 days, but Embolden extended it to a 30-day free trial and was also renewed for all players in early September 2023.

Wargaming launched the sixth wave of crossover content from Azur Lane in World of Warships. It added five new ship liveries and Commander characters based on shipgirls from the former title.
The ships in question are CV-8 USS Hornet, HMS Queen Elizabeth, KMS Agir, IJN Fusou, and IJN Shimakaze. Hornet, Agir, and Shimakaze have new standalone premium ships based on the Azur Lane shipgirls. Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth and Fusou's liveries appear instead as permanent camouflages for the original ships that have been available in World of Warships.
Wargaming has been adding Azur Lane characters ever since it first launched the collaboration in 2018. The crossover applies to both sides, as Manjuu and Yongshi also gradually added World of Warships' original ships as Priority and Decisive-rarity shipgirls.
The previous crossover waves had added the following shipgirls into World of Warships:
Azur Lane is not the only title Wargaming has collaborated with in World of Warships. The company has also added content from other franchises like Arpeggio of Blue Steel, Transformers, and Hololive.
The Event Pass for the sixth wave of Azur Lane crossover content in World of Warships is available until June 12, 2024. While the online multiplayer naval battle game is available on multiple platforms, this content specifically appears in the original PC version.

During the Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer Live LXXXI, Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida and Global Community Producer Toshio "Foxclon" Murouchi introduced a FFXIV Dawntrail Mountain Dew event with a Mountain Zu mount kicked off on May 16, 2024. Yoshida joked that the name of the mount, which people earn by drinking the soda, seemed like a dad joke.
What people do is buy bottles of Mountain Dew, then redeem the code under the cap to get points. These can then be redeemed at the official site to get in-game items. (The https://mtndewgaming.com/FFXIVdawntrail site wasn't live as of 11:15am ET on May 16, 2024.) The two in-game items mentioned were the FFXIV Mountain Zu mount, which is a green Zu, and a Sparkling Citrus Refreshment item we can evidently use in-game for an XP boost.

The reveal also noted there will be real-world rewards like shirts and a limited edition PC.

After introducing the changes for the Physical Ranged DPS, the Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer Live LXXXI Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida went over the changes to the Black Mage, Summoner, and Red Mage Magical Ranged DPS jobs in the upcoming FFXIV Dawntrail expansion.
Similar to the Physical Ranged DPS changes, the overall general changes to the Magical Ranged DPS jobs focus on ease of use and streamlining the actions for players. More specifically, Swiftcast recast will be reduced to 40 seconds, and Addle duration will be increased to 15 seconds in the 90s level range for both actions.
As for the Black Mage, in order to streamline aspects of the job one of the main changes involves restoring MP upon landing ice spells while Umbral Ice is active, instead of passive MP regeneration over time. In addition, a new action that repositions Ley Lines beneath the caster once will be added. Yoshida mentioned that, with the newly introduced MP changes there is a chance that the skill rotation may or may not change.
Summoner will receive a new Solar Bahamut summon, similar to Bahamut and Phoenix. The developers mentioned that the current Bahamut looks like what the Allagan Empire might have described it as, and that this might have not been its true form, hence the addition of the new summon. Other changes include adding an action after the party buff Searing Light action that allows players to attack. With the introduction of a new Summon the skill rotation will be updated accordingly. Specifically, the new rotation will look like this: Solar Bahamut, then Bahamut, Solar Bahamut again, and finishing with Phoenix. Additionally, after much debate the developers decided that Summoner will keep Resurrection throughout 7.0 and 7.X.
For the Red Mage, they tried to minimize waste of resources. As such, Manafication will now allow execution of enchanted swordplay actions without cost. The AoE enchanted swordplay combo beginning with Enchanted Moulinet will now consume a total of 50 Black Mana and White Mana, similar to its single-target counterpart. Yoshida explained that the single-target and AoE versions not aligning felt odd, so they made adjustments accordingly. Other changes include the addition of an attack ability action after Embolden is executed.

While the melee DPS Viper and magic DPS Pictomancer are the most exciting of the bunch since they're new to the game with Dawntrail, FFXIV's existing Jobs are still getting plenty of love with 7.0 DPS Changes Tank Changes Healer Changes FFXIV Dawntrail DPS Abilities The DPS role is getting some great new abilities across all Jobs, and a few Jobs, in particular, are receiving reworks with significant overhauls to their kits. All DPS Jobs will have a buff to Second Wind's healing potency and Feint's duration in the level 90 range.
