The Fallout universe is full of little minigames that shake up the dominant exploration and first-person shooter gameplay, such as the lockpicking and hacking minigames. The former is straightforward to grasp. But the latter? Not so much. But we've got you! Seriously, relax, it's going to be fine. This is all good.

I have complicated feelings on how the Persona series (and the Shin Megami Tensei series at large) handles its updated "definitive editions." Stop me if you heard this one before. You are the leader of an intergalactic space empire. But you've run into a bit of trouble. Turns out there's a lot of competition.      Wuthering Waves next banner and current banner schedule August 2024

What is the current and next Wuthering Waves banner? Otherwise known as Convenes, Wuthering Waves banners run on a three-week rotation, which doesn't give you much time to decide which characters to pull and which to skip. Thankfully, our banner schedule includes both phases of the current Wuthering Waves update, along with all the upcoming banners to help you decide.

The Wuthering Waves banner system is typical for gacha games, allowing you to spend your hard-earned Wuthering Waves Tides for a chance to acquire some of the best Wuthering Waves characters and weapons. The latest Wuthering Waves codes and events can help you redeem free currency to get started. Once you're flush with Tides, it's time to spend them all on the current and next Wuthering Waves banner.

As if Dredge couldn't get any better, there's some slick new DLC

As a Scottish person, I'm relatively accustomed to seeing oil rigs. They're dotted across the north of Scotland, looming eerily in the distance, often drenched in sea mist and framed by gray skies. Most recently, we saw Still Wakes the Deep transform one of our rigs into a twisted, nightmare-infested hellhole, and Dredge is looking to follow in its footsteps. The fishing game's latest DLC, The Iron Rig, drops today, and I'm far too excited about it.

I'm very prepared to brush the likes of Apex Legends, Call of Duty, and The Finals aside for the time being once the Splitgate 2 alpha kicks off. The preceding offering from 1047 Games, described by many as 'Halo with Portals,' completely won my adoration. Standing apart from the landmark Bungie series despite that moniker, it struck a perfect balance of pace and precision, and I'm certainly looking forward to its grand return. If you're just as excited as I am, there's good news, as signups for the first public playtest are now live.

Best Zenless Zone Zero Jane Doe build

What is the best ZZZ Jane Doe build? Most characters in HoYoverse's gacha game make no effort to hide their allegiances, but Jane Doe is a striking exception. As her name suggests, her identity is a big question mark – and while drip marketing has thrown her in with New Eridu Public Security, ZZZ's story sees her join the Mountain Lion militant group and create a whole lot of mayhem for rookie officers Qingyi and Seth.

Jane Doe is the first S-Rank Anomaly character to arrive in Zenless Zone Zero after Grace's debut in 1.0, and she's already set to change how we construct ZZZ team comps. In a nutshell, she's a Physical DPS unit that attacks enemies to stack Passion Stream and enter the Passion State, which lets her unleash a sequence of rapid attacks to trigger Anomalies. This powerful combination of damage and support is due to send her straight to the top of our Zenless Zone Zero tier list, and we've got the best ZZZ Jane build for the gacha game's resident fan favorite.

Genshin Impact codes for August 2024 and how to redeem codes

August 15, 2024: We verified that the codes on our list are still active.

What are the new Genshin Impact codes? Gathering Primogems and Mora in Genshin Impact can be quite the grind. Fortunately, developer HoYoverse occasionally sends out gifts in the form of Genshin redeem codes. Most codes only work for a limited time, so it's best to redeem them as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

Genshin Impact codes are released periodically, frequently appearing in Hoyoverse special programs: regular video updates detailing future updates to the free PC game. Redeem codes can also drop to celebrate milestones or to coincide with new Genshin Impact events. You can find all the active Genshin codes for August 2024 below, and we also detail what they get you, how to redeem them, and where you can look for more.

Nanoleaf 4D Kit review - an RGB upgrade for your TV/monitor

We've long been fans of Philips' Ambilight technology that fills the space behind your TV or monitor with screen-matching LED lighting. In our experience it can really boost your immersion in what you're watching while also reducing eyestrain. The Nanoleaf 4D Kit (Nanoleaf 4D Screen Mirror + Light Strip Kit) aims to provide that same functionality but for any screen and for a surprisingly low price.

Its this screen-mirroring tech that is why we think this Nanoleaf kit is one of the best LED light strips you can buy, as it not only adds some fun to your AV or gaming setup but some functionality too.

Microsoft fights back against the Steam Deck with Xbox app update

Microsoft is introducing a new Compact Mode for the Xbox Game Bar to improve its compatibility with handheld devices that run Windows. This comes off the back of news that Valve is readying SteamOS to be available for the ROG Ally.

It's no secret that the Windows operating system is a major drawback for gaming handhelds thanks to its general lack of interface optimization for use on a small touchscreen device with game controllers as your main inputs. I even noted this in my Asus ROG Ally X review, where it ended up being the one big issue with an otherwise quite remarkable device.

Huge Oblivion remake built in Skyrim is enough to make Bethesda blush

Between Starfield Shattered Space and, presumably, The Elder Scrolls 6, Bethesda has a lot to do right now. But that doesn't mean its apocalyptic and fantasy worlds lie dormant. Fallout London is a wonderful fan-built spinoff to everyone's favorite post-nuclear shooter, and now Skyblivion, a total Oblivion remake built inside the Skyrim engine, is inbound for 2025 - and just got some sweeping new gameplay footage. Showcasing side quests, perhaps the most important part of any Elder Scrolls game, while Bethesda dev work hard on the official sequels, this should be enough to make them proud.

GTA 6 release date window, trailers, and latest Rockstar Games news

When is GTA 6 coming out? Given how many years it takes to create open worlds of the same caliber as GTA 5, it's no surprise that Rockstar Games has already spent years developing GTA 6. However, like most developers, Rockstar prefers to keep its secrets close to its chest until they're close to the end of development - and Take-Two has now confirmed when exactly we can expect it to arrive.

The Grand Theft Auto 6 release date has certainly been a long time coming. Early gameplay leaks of GTA 6 surfaced online last year, along with lines of source code and development footage for the open-world game. There's been plenty of rumors and speculation surrounding the release date since then, but we finally have confirmation of the GTA 6 launch window, story, and setting right here on PCGamesN. I was all set to plunge into Blackbird and Gearbox's Homeworld 3 this spring when I received a slightly underwhelmed intergalactic transmission from Nic, praising the game's atmosphere and story while ruminating over fussy controls and a want of tactical depth. Over 2000 hours spent in various factory games makes me a bit of a purist, I suppose. In theory, I should then be the ideal reviewer to enjoy Shapez 2. But I'm also the ideal reviewer to tear it apart over the most minor hiccups and defects. I'm the Anton Ego of factory games. I don't like food, I love it. If I don't love it, I don't swallow.

Ah, you needn't worry. This is by far the most fun I've had reviewing a game, and Shapez 2 has, in my mind at least, turned the holy trinity of factory games (Factorio, Satisfactory, Dyson Sphere Program) into a holy quartet. Its pared back, everything-is-free-forever approach is quite liberating, and I've never had so much fun placing conveyor belts in my life. But 40 hours into my save file, I've often found myself yearning for a bit more creativity in the challenges, a few more curveballs sent in my direction.

It's an oddly Halloweeny summer week for games, this one. Dragon Age: The Veilguard's October 31st release date leaked earlier, Steam have put together a Summer Fright Night bundle featuring RPS fave Hauntii, and I've got a strange urge to gorge on Haribo and mini Double Deckers until blood comes out of my eyeballs. What a perfect time, then, to dive into the alpha demo for vampire management game Blood Bar Tycoon, especially since Two Point seem to be resting on their laurels a bit too comfortably for my liking.

The idea here is you build a swanky bar serving claret cosmopolitans, ichor-ish coffees and uh, viscera vampiros to your undead clientele. But (with the sorta exception of the crimson-sapped Dracaena cinnabari) blood doesn't grow on trees, so you'll also be moonlighting as a human-nabber. You'll research a slew of "whacky contraptions" to extract their blood, which I greatly enjoy, because "zany exsanguination" is a real winner of a feature. You can't frivolously phlebotomise with impunity, however - you'll also want to be on the lookout for vampire hunters aka the fun police.

Persona 3 Reload Episode Aigis Trailer Highlights Its Story

Atlus shared a new Persona 3 Reload trailer for the Episode Aigis: The Answer DLC, and it focuses on the story, its characters, and even clips of the animated segments. "Bridge of Time" further gets into what characters are experiencing and what's going on.

The Persona 3 Reload Episode Aigis DLC trailer begins with an animated segment showing the Abyss of Time doors, before also showing Ken, Akihiko, Mitsuru, Koromaru, Junpei, Yukari, Aigis, and Makoto (the protagonist). From there, we hear a new song for the add-on and story segments. Characters comment on how they can't leave the dorm and discuss how they feel about various situations. We also get to see some in-battle footage of characters like Metis, before also watching more animated clips and segments showing fights against familiar and unfamiliar opponents.

Here's the full Persona 3 Reload Episode Aigis: The Answer "Bridge of Time" trailer.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRKtDoWa7PA

Prior to this, the last trailer focused on a specific character. In it, Atlus offered a closer look at Metis. We got to see the new member of the cast both in and out of battle.

Persona 3 Reload is available now on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and Episode Aigis: The Answer DLC will debut on September 10, 2024.

Preview: Persona 3 Reload Episode Aigis Gameplay Feels so Smooth

Persona 3 FES always offered an extra sense of closure with its The Answer storyline, giving us a last chance to tie things up and experience an adventure with characters, and Atlus will do that again with Persona 3 Reload and its Episode Aigis DLC. After spending a little hands-on time with it and delving into the Abyss of Time for the first time in years, it feels as solid as the remake.

For those unfamiliar, Episode Aigis: The Answer takes place after the ideal ending in Persona 3 Reload. On March 31st, members of S.E.E.S. are gathering together for a meal in honor of everything that happened and to turn in their Evokers. However, at what should have been 12am on April 1st, something unexpected happens. The noticeable shift is initially thought to be the Dark Hour returning, but Aigis, Fuuka, Junpei, Ken, and Mitsuru realize that instead time looped back to 12am on March 31st. It's then that another anti-Shadow weapon named Metis appears and attacks the group in the name of defending Aigis.

Preview: Persona 3 Reload Episode Aigis Gameplay Feels so Smooth
Image via Atlus

In a clear case of defeat means friendship, the battle between the two results in Aigis being knocked out for a few days and Metis agreeing to work alongside the group. Which is good, because an Abyss of Time dungeon is now in the dorm basement, time keeps looping, Akihiko and Yukari are now also there, and nobody can escape or move on until things resolve.

Of course, the first thing I noticed is how good Episode Aigis: The Answer looked. After all, it's been a while since we've seen The Answer! The recent Persona 3 rereleases were based on Persona 3 Portable, and we only got this additional story with the PS2 FES release. The initial story scene and cutscene with Aigis and Metis looked good, updating that additional story segment for the modern release. Likewise, the first hop into the Abyss of Time looked good and consistent with what we saw with the remake of Tartarus in the base game.

Preview: Persona 3 Reload Episode Aigis Gameplay Feels so Smooth
Image via Atlus

Likewise, a big focus of this additional excursion originally was the opportunity to head into fights. The bulk of my time was spent playing diving into the new dungeon and getting the lay of the land. Aigis is now the "wildcard," complete with ability to equip and use multiple Personas. She functions much as Makoto did now, and does a good job of filling out that role. However, Metis now fills the "Aigis" role in terms of moveset. This also means she's the new Orgia Mode unit in a fight, and she does a good job of acting as a major DPS force from what I saw in that initial journey into the abyss. You still get a good, solid force for a first run into the new depths, and Metis having Bufula and Garula right from the outset is helpful in case you don't invite Mitsuru or Yukari along. However, I did experience one situation where I almost fell in a fight because I chose to include Akihiko in my initial party of four alongside the mandatory Aigis and Metis and one bout put me up against four Lovers Snake enemy variants that kept spamming Ice attacks.

My run through the Persona 3 Reload Episode Aigis: The Answer DLC opening ended up being a really solid and pleasant experience. Going through the tutorial and initial segment helped me get acclimated again, and also acted as a possible assurance that the Abyss of Time and Metis still look as good and work as well in the remake as they did in the original game.

Persona 3 Reload is available now on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and Episode Aigis: The Answer DLC will debut on September 10, 2024.
