Biostar just announced a new AMD Radeon RX 580 graphics card in 2024

Biostar has just revealed a brand new, white graphics card based on the AMD Radeon RX 580. Yes, a graphics card that first launched back in 2018 can now be yours again. It's aimed very clearly at the budget and low-end GPU market, but is this a card worth buying today?

Answering that question is tricky. The Radeon RX 580 might have been a good budget option a few years back, but other than a white shell, there isn't much that makes this old-but-new AMD GPU a good option for gamers now. Even the best budget gaming PC options today have long since moved on to better cards like the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060.

The Until Dawn system requirements have been released just a few weeks out from its impending launch on PC. The revamped game will also be getting a fresh PS5 release, but it's the specificity of the PC storage requirements that offer something I only recall seeing once before.

Most system requirements will list what you need to get the game running at the minimum and recommended performance levels. For Until Dawn, we have four total tiers ranging from the expected minimum all the way up to ultra. It's in the higher tiers where a specific SSD technology is suggested, something far removed from just recommending the best graphics card and leaving it at that.

I tried the new Cyberpunk 2077 update, and it's a game changer for AMD

The latest update for Cyberpunk 2077 contains a new feature that makes an enormous difference to the game's performance on AMD Radeon GPUs, and indeed any modern GPUs that aren't Nvidia GeForce RTX models. It's called FSR 3 frame generation, and I've just tried it out on my aging AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT. The difference is astounding, making all the difference between the game being smooth and unplayable.

Although you'll find a few AMD GPUs on our best graphics card guide, they struggle to keep up with Nvidia's latest GPUs when it comes to ray tracing, where you get cinematically realistic lighting, creating amazing shadows and reflections. There are some games that AMD GPUs can already handle with ray tracing, including Resident Evil Village, but Cyberpunk 2077 has been a big thorn in AMD's side, until now that is.

In V Rising, you're a fledgling vampire on a mission to become absolute bossferatu of a Gothic open world. You get a Diablo-ish combat system, the ability to shapeshift into a spider, and a whole castle to prance around in, crooning at the moon. I like this premise almost as much as I dislike the fact that V Rising is also a survival game, in which you must fell trees and master a crafting system like a common turnip farmer.

What do we hope for when our interest in a game is almost perfectly balanced by our disinterest? We hope that the developers will treat us to a free-to-play weekend, in which our perhaps-unfounded reservations might be strategically offset by the endorphin rush of not having paid any goddamn money. This, V Rising creators Stunlock have now done. The game is free to download and play on Steam from right now until Monday, 16th September at 5pm UK or 10am PST.

Dead Rising Promotional Song

Capcom released a special promotional song ahead of the release of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. The song, titled "Doesn't Matter 'Cause", is sung from the perspective of a zombie coming to the realization that they are dead.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzbFxPGD3GY

The promotional song is a mellow acoustic guitar driven song where a zombie sings about the melancholy of being a shambling corpse in the world of Dead Rising. As the song progresses, the singer laments the many ways that Frank West can take out him and his fellow zombies. In the process, we get to see footage of various weapons available within the remaster. These include the mundane, such as being shot, to the more experimental weapons that Frank can use, such as soccer balls or parasols. These clips from the games are mixed with original animation showing the zombies dancing.

The promotional song is clearly meant to evoke the more ridiculous elements of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. As well as the version found on Capcom's US YouTube channel, a Japanese version was also released. The songwriter and musicians involved have not been revealed by Capcom at present, nor have the animators.

The promotional song is similar to a series of videos Capcom released to promote the release of the Resident Evil 4 Remake in 2023. Similarly, they featured original animation and a comical tone. However, these were a series of short skits rather than a song.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will be released for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on September 19, 2024.

In addition to the new dub, all three Digimon movies will have Japanese audio as an option. The original dub of The Digimon Movie will also be included, remastered in HD for the first time.

This release of the Digimon movies coincides with the 25th anniversary of the anime series. As well as the new dub for the West, other celebrations are occurring. A Digimon Adventure exhibition took place in Ikebukuro Sunshine City in Tokyo in August 2024, featuring concept art and storyboards from the original show. The exhibition will be running again in Osaka's Shinsaibashi Opa from October 5-20, 2024.

The new dub of the Digimon movies will be released on Blu-Ray on December 17, 2024.

hatsune miku fitness boxing review

Fiction usually depicts nerds and gamers in two extremes: a big dude inhaling burgers while lying on the couch, or a scrawny beanpole of a person with long hair and big glasses. Very unfortunately, I am the type who prefers lying around all day while munching on snacks. You can imagine the wonders that does to my figure. But never fear, fellow nerds and gamers who can't be bothered to slot the Joy-Cons into the Ring Fit ring every day! Hatsune Miku and her Vocaloid friends are here to whip you into shape with some fitness boxing in Fitness Boxing feat Hatsune Miku, and she's ready to throw hands.

For starters, something that you'll notice when you boot up the game is that the Vocaloids all speak in their native Japanese. However, the instructor who coaches you through your exercises speaks in English. It personally is a little jarring to hear a Vocaloid's synthetic voice chitter away at me in Japanese, followed by Lin, carefully enunciating every syllable, telling me (in English) to keep my back straight. It didn't take long for me to sort of tune it out while exercising, but it was a little distracting on the first day.

Fitness Boxing feat Hatsune Miku is pretty much what it says on the tin. An instructor tells you what to do or reminds you what proper form is. Meanwhile, a Vocaloid of your choice boxes with you while offering words of encouragement. They're nice even if you mess up your combo, and the positive atmosphere made it easy to keep going every day. Miku Exercise is the mode where you get to box to a Vocaloid song. I'm a fan of the selection, which features classics like "Melt" all the way to "The Vampire." Other favorites include "Melancholic," "World End Dancehall," and "Romeo and Cinderella." I'm hoping that DLC in the future will introduce some more songs and Vocaloid partners.

In Fitness Boxing, you have to punch and move while staying in rhythm. The action the game wants you to do appears on screen, like Beat Saber or a more violent version of Colorful Stage. You start out with simple jabs and straights, then move on to hooks and uppercuts, before finally adding in dodges like sways. So the more you play, the more variation you'll get in your daily workout. Of course, you can also go straight to the Miku Exercise and jump past all the combo lessons if you're confident in your skills.

When I first started fitness boxing, I thought that it wasn't as useful as Ring Fit. The physical ring that you have to use, as well as all the different kinds of exercise you can do in that game, made it feel like I was getting a lot more out of my workout. But as I continued on my fitness boxing journey, certain stretches and moves became easier than they were when I first started. That was a great feeling. I don't understand why I never get that satisfied sense of exhaustion I always felt after yoga or Ring Fit, but maybe my daily workouts need to be a lot longer than thirty to forty minutes per session.

Since I tossed my scale ages ago for mental health reasons, I don't know the effect Fitness Boxing feat Hatsune Miku has on my weight or my waist line. I certainly feel better though! Compared to Ring Fit, it's way easier to boot up, so I'm less tempted to skip a day or two out of sheer laziness. Though my review ends here, my fitness journey has only just begun.

Fitness Boxing feat. Hatsune Miku is readily available on the Nintendo Switch.

Life-sized Pokemon plush of Porygon

The Pokemon Company has revealed numerous new merchandise modeled after Porygon that it will sell in Japan. One of them will be a life-sized plush based on the virtual Pokemon that has appeared since the inaugural titles Pokemon Red and Blue. Pre-orders for this plush are immediately available on the Japanese Pokemon Center Online store at 55,000 yen (~$391.30).

As with prior releases like Psyduck and Larvesta, this plush will stay true to Porygon's height listed in the Pokedex, which is 0.8 m / 2'07". The plush will also be 83 cm / 2'08" wide and 120 cm / 3'11" long. However, while the original Pokedex listed Porygon's weight as 36.5 kg / 80.5 lbs, this plush will weigh much lighter at just 5.2 kg / 11.46 lbs.

Here are some of the sample images of the Porygon plush taken from various angles:

This plush will not be the only Porygon-related merchandise from The Pokemon Company. The latter has also revealed a new Night Arcade merchandise collection, which will appear at the Japanese Pokemon Center Online store on September 19, 2024, and physical outlets on September 21, 2024.

This collection will also feature fellow first-generation Pokemon Abra, Clefairy, and Dratini. However, Porygon will take the main spotlight here, as the company will exclusively release a neon LED light based on the Pokemon at 8,250 yen (~$58.75).

The Pokemon Company will start shipping the life-sized Porygon plush in mid-January 2025.

Delves are one of the brand-new, evergreen features introduced in World of Warcraft The War Within. In them, players can tackle smaller-sized dungeons solo or in a group to gain gear, transmogs, currency to spend at renown vendors, and more. If you're delving alone, you'll be accompanied by an NPC unique to the current season, and can level them up by completing delves. You'll want to level your companion as fast as possible to unlock their abilities for higher-tiered delves. The fastest way to go about doing that is finding the quickest delves and running through them repeatedly. Here's a brief summary of the fastest delves in World of Warcraft: The War Within.

The Waterworks

Screenshot by Siliconera

The Waterworks is one of the few delves where a vast majority of the enemies can be easily avoided. They're spaced out across wide rooms and hug the walls, giving you plenty of room to walk past them. It also features one of the less threatening hazards you can encounter. The Waterworks features a poison debuff that is kept at bay with a special air totem item you collect in the delve. It's fairly easy to prevent and doesn't impede your movement speed like some of the other hazards might. Waxface, the delve's boss, is isolated in his room as well. It's possible to run past the rest of the enemies in the delve and defeat him before they catch up. Just be mindful of your air totem charges, and you should have no problem leveling your companion in the Waterworks.

The Underkeep

Screenshot by Siliconera

Despite its seemingly large area, the Underkeep is a quick delve to complete regardless of the active scenario when you enter it. Most of the Underkeep's scenarios involve brute forcing your way through the area, killing mobs of varying sizes and then confronting a boss at the end. Just like the Waterworks, the zone itself is very spacious, letting you bypass certain enemies. What makes the Underkeep even faster to clear is its lack of area hazards. Whereas other delves will feature a special debuff of some kind, the Underkeep just has easily avoidable traps. Obviously your mileage may vary depending on how fast you can take down enemies, but if you're looking for a simple delve with minimal worries, use the Underkeep.

Tak-Rethan Abyss

Screenshot by Siliconera

Under the right conditions, you can complete Tak-Rethan Abyss in under two minutes . The delve is incredibly short, featuring a small spiral shape densely packed with easily dispatchable enemies. Tak-Rethan Abyss is an underwater delve; swimming is disabled, but using movement speed buffs like Ghost Wolf or Sprint will leave enemies behind. Look out for the "Pheramone Fury" scenario. It requires you to break open crates as you run towards the boss of the area. The interaction on the crates is instant, meaning you can run past every enemy as you carry out your objective. Then you can focus the boss down before the enemies catch up to you, and finish the delve in record-breaking time! Even without "Pheromone Fury" as the active scenario, you'll have little trouble completing this delve quickly and efficiently, so make sure to take advantage of it.

Hopefully this guide helps you max out those companion levels quickly, so you can tackle delves at higher tiers sooner rather than later. Season One of The War Within is packed with new content for old and new players alike. You can learn more about The War Within Season One here. Completing Delves will also earn you Weathered Harbinger Crests. For more information on where to trade them in, check out How to Obtain Nascent Weathered Harbinger Crest in World of Warcraft.
