Ubisoft says it's pushing back some of its "biggest productions"

Ubisoft, desperately in need of a major win, finally got one with Assassin's Creed Shadows - but only after it delayed the open-world game on two occasions to make sure it didn't miss the mark on quality. Clearly learning the right lesson from Shadows, it's just announced that it'll be delaying some of its "biggest productions" that were set to release this financial year, and while it hasn't namedropped any specific upcoming games, that more than likely means a longer wait to see the next Assassin's Creed, the Splinter Cell remake, and the rumored new entry in the Ghost Recon series.

Kingdom Hearts 4 Update Shows Playable Mickey Mouse

Square Enix shared an update on Kingdom Hearts 4 on social media following the Missing-Linkmobile game cancellation, and it involved a screenshot showing a playable Mickey Mouse. It also confirmed that the game is still in active development.

The update included six Kingdom Hearts 4 screenshots and images, the playable Mickey Mouse one included. Two seem to show active gameplay. One of those shows Sora fighting Heartless in Quadratum. He's in the midst of an attack with the Keyblade, and the other options in the Commands menu are Magic, Items, and Build. The other gameplay screenshot shows King Mickey. He's standing on top of a chandelier in a library, and the Command menu with an Attack command is shown in the lower left corner. The setting for that image isn't exactly clear. It could be a place like Hollow Bastion, as we did explore a library there with The Beast as Sora in the original game and the architecture looks similar. The other screenshots show what appear to be CG moments from the game, with Sora featured in two, a boss in another, and Strelitzia in the last one.

Here are how all the new screenshots from Kingdom Hearts 4 look. They were released as one big image, rather than individual ones.

As for the update, here's the full statement that appeared on places like Bluesky and X

"To our Kingdom Hearts community,

We're currently working hard on Kingdom Hearts IV and will continue pouring ourselves into the game's development. We're dedicated to making this an experience that lives up to your expectations!

We've seen how excited you are, and we are truly grateful from the bottom of our hearts. We are equally excited and can't wait to share more about Kingdom Hearts IV when the time is right. Until then, we appreciate your patience.

Thank you for your continued support."

Kingdom Hearts 4 is in development.

Chicago's Field Museum Will Host Pokemon Fossil Museum

The Field Museum, located in Chicago, Illinois, announced it will host the Pokemon Fossil Museum exhibit. It will appear starting on May 22, 2026. It is possible to sign up at the official site to be notified about more information when available.

This exhibit is a recurring event that first debuted in Japan in 2021. Since then, it's appeared multiple times in that country, with returning exhibits in 2022 and 2024. At time of writing, the event is being held in Japan at the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum. This marks the first time it will appear in the US. The Field Museum's page confirms this iteration is based on Tokyo's National Museum of Nature and Science one. It also noted real fossils and Pokemon trivia will come up.

The Field Museum did confirm that this Pokemon Fossil Museum exhibit will require an additional ticket in addition to the general admission one. However, there are regular free days for Illinois residents who show proof they live in the state via a driver's license, library card, or other methods. These additional exhibits often cost around $10 for adults and $8 for children, and general admission is $30 for adults, $23 for children, and $27 for students.

The Pokemon Fossil Museum will appear at the Field Museum in Chicago, Illinois, with the event starting on May 22, 2025.

US Pokemon Center Now Selling Penny's Eevee Backpack

The US branch of The Pokemon Center announced that the Penny's Eevee backpack, based on the accessory worn by the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet character, is now in-stock. It can be found online for $69.99. This does mean it qualifies for free shipping, as the tier to clear for that is $20.

This backpack is designed to be an exact replica of the one Penny wears throughout the game. The fluff around the Pokemon's neck covers the upper parts of the straps and goes over a person's shoulders. To store items inside the plush, you need to open a zipper on its stomach. It is over a foot tall, at 13 inches, and 11 inches wide. It could also be used for cosplay purposes, in addition to everyday wear.

Here's a closer look at the Penny's Eevee plush backpack from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet from various angles, as well as some photos showing it being worn by an individual to provide a better sense of scale.

While this is now available on the US storefront, we actually have seen the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Penny's Eevee backpack before. The Pokemon Company released it in Japan back in September 2023. When it launched back then, it cost ¥6,930 (~$47).

The Penny's Eevee backpack is available via the US Pokemon Center now, and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch.
