Apple pretty much owns the term ‘Air’ now (maybe outside of sneakers and, well, the stuff we breathe) so the arrival of the iPhone Air is a big deal.
It was long rumored, of course, so not exactly a surprise – but that didn’t lessen the impact it had on TechRadar’s Jacob Krol when he laid hands and eyes on it at Apple’s Tuesday ‘Awe Dropping’ event.
“From a design standpoint, I think it’s the most exciting [phone] in years,” said Jake – and based solely on the video and images I’ve seen, I won’t disagree. It’s a real feat that Apple has managed to cram so much tech into something so sleek, even if battery life is a potential worry. You can read Jake’s hands-on review of the phone below.
Editor at Large Lance Ulanoff had his hands on the phone too, and in fact tried to break it. In fairness to Lance, he was invited to do so by Apple’s Global Head of Marketing, Greg ‘Joz’ Joswiak, during TechRadar’s exclusive interview with Joz and SVP of Hardware Engineering, John Ternus – so don’t worry, Lance is not in Apple’s bad books. Besides, he failed; the Air is a lot stronger than it looks, so it doesn’t seem like there’ll be a repeat of the iPhone 6 Plus ‘bendgate’ issues here.
Of course, the Air wasn't the only new Apple device revealed this week, and you can read about the rest of them, from the iPhone 17, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max to the Apple Watch Ultra 3 and AirPods Pro 3, below – and if you're looking to buy, you’ll find our round-ups of the best pre-order deals on all of Apple's new devices.
