Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, March 26, 2026 5:55 PM The appearance of AI in art is nothing new, hell, Mr. Movies himself Steven Spielberg literally made A.I. Now what we have is the Donkey Bollocks AI that produces garbage facsimiles of things we know and actually like. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, March 26, 2026 2:10 PM I quite like a bit of permanency in games. Well, like might be too positive, I'm more intrigued by it and the friction it provides. It's interesting that if you're silly enough to kill an NPC in Dark Souls, for example, that's it, no take backsies. So despite honestly not caring all that much for zombie games, I'm still a bit interested in Dying Light: The Beast and its new Restored Land update which introduces a mode where if you kill a zombie once, it truly is gone for good. |

Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, March 26, 2026 1:12 PM A new Life is Strange game doesn't always feel particularly odd given its sort of steady turn into a franchise. The last one was only in 2024 with Life Is Strange: Double Exposure, bringing back the original game's Max Caulfield. This wasn't necessarily a welcome return for all, and ended up being somewhat of a mixed bag. And now we come to now with a potentially odd entry, Life is Strange: Reunion, which is out today. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, March 26, 2026 11:00 AM I have two dreams as mayor of an island town in Nova Roma, the new early access city-building game from Lion Shield and Hooded Horse. One is to erect a fantastic water network for my people - a sturdy yet poetic lattice of aqueducts, following their deft gradations down from the mountain rivers to cisterns gracefully spaced amid the insulae, forums, circuses and temples. In my reborn Rome, no populous bathhouse, tinkling fountain, or humble latrine shall ever run dry. With my other hand, I shall raise mighty dams, diverting the rivers away from my walls to avoid flooding in times of heavy rainfall, while exposing velvety expanses of buildable, tillable soil. My citizens will learn to treat water frivolously, swilling and pissing it away in their decadence, much as they did in the Rome of old. The fools! For when my empire of hydration is complete, I will ascend the slopes and whimsically commission one final dam. Trusting in my stewardship – for what reason have I given them to disobey? - the citizens shall toil day and night to finish the structure. Then, when the last stone is laid and the sluices slam shut, they shall gaze in horror as a tidal wave engulfs their fair metropolis and sweeps all their precious bloody bathhouses away. |

Square Enix announced that the Japanese CERO age rating for FFXIV will change with the upcoming Patch 7.5. The current CERO rating for the game is CERO C, and after the changes in the upcoming patch the rating will change to a CERO D, the second highest in the rating organization.
The company specified that the reason for the change in CERO age rating for FFXIV comes from the use of the Group Pose feature. Under the current CERO C rating, the developers would have to add restriction to the feature. In order to keep the freedom currently available with the Group Pose feature, the company decided to accept the change to the CERO D rating. However, Square Enix didn't specify what would these restrictions entail.
Square Enix also confirmed that this change will only affect the age rating of Final Fantasy XIV in Japan, and that the content of Final Fantasy XIV will remain unaffected. However, players under the age of 17 will need their parents or guardians to review the changes to the rating once it arrives with the 7.5 patch.
For those unfamiliar with the CERO rating system, players ages 15 and up can play titles with a rating of CERO C. As for the CERO D rating, this means only players aged 17 and up can play, and that some of the CERO D games include adult material. The age rating above CERO D and the highest is CERO Z. It is only used for games that contain strong adult material, such as gore, nudity, and sexual content, and it's illegal for minors to purchase video games with this rating.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the 7.5 Part 1 patch release date is set for April 28, 2026.

Square Enix announced it will end service of the Japanese version of War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius on May 28, 2026. It launched in November 2019. The worldwide version of the already closed in May 2025.
Square Enix announced the news on its official website and social media accounts. In the messages, the company thanked players for all of their support over the years, as well as apologized for the sudden end. The statement on the website explained that since launching the game, the developers tried to deliver as good of a product as they could. However, it didn't believe that it can create a game that would satisfy customers anymore, which is why it decided to shut the game down.
You will no longer be able to buy any premium currency in the game. However, if you already have some, you can continue to use that until the game goes offline. If the game ends with you still having premium currency left over, you will be eligible for a refund.
War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is a tactical role-playing game that was a spin-off of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. It plays in a similar way to the Tactics games. Coincidentally, the global version of the game came out the year after the Japanese version, as well as ended a year before the Japanese one.
War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is available on mobile devices in Japan. It will end service on May 28, 2026.

Infiniteloop announced the newest piece of Desktop Mate DLC, and it will be an add-on of the Megpoid Vocaloid character Gumi. It will launch on April 2, 2026. She will cost $14.99, just like all past full-size characters. The product page is already live on Steam.
This Gumi DLC is based on her VOCALOID6 appearance and Nou's design for the character. The announcement noted some of her animations, like singing and eating cake. It also mentioned her "voice" will be used, but didn't mention if any songs will be referenced. It did confirm there will be a "carrot" sound effect used if you click on her.
Here are the first Desktop Mate Gumi screenshots. There is no trailer that shows her in action or highlights her voice and sound effects.
As an example of what she can sound like, here's the Kenshi Yonezu (as Hachi) Gumi and Hatsune Miku song "Matryoshka."
While there are a wide range of Desktop Mate DLC characters that range from video game icons to Sanrio mascots, the majority of add-ons involve Vocaloids from different companies. Many major Crypton ones, like Hatsune Miku and her variants, Megurine Luka, and Kagamine Len and Rin showed up. There are also TOKYO6 ENTERTAINMENT and VOCALOMAKETS ones like Kizuna Akari, Natsuki Karin, and Yuzuki Yukari. The Megpoid Gumi one is the first Internet Co character to appear in this application.
Desktop Mate is available on PCs, and the Gumi Megpoid Vocaloid DLC drops on April 2, 2026.

Bandai Namco announced it will release a The Ring Sadako prize figure in Japan as part of its Banpresto brand, and it will be able to be "removed" from the TV monitor included with it. As a result, she can be posed in positions that make it look like she's emerging from other places in your home. It will launch in Japanese arcades in August 2026. There's no worldwide release confirmation or launch window yet, but the company does tend to sell these prize figures worldwide after their launch via the official Amazon storefront.
This is a bust that only includes the upper part of Sadako. So all we see clearly is her grasping right hand and arm, her left arm that's supporting her as she crawls toward us, and her hair-covered head. Her face isn't visible, and her black hair acts as a stand to support her. The entire back of her body past her shoulders is still on the other side of the included TV monitor. The included photos show the full figure with the flat-screen attached from different angles, then two additional photos that show what it would look like if you posed her as though she's emerging from a tablet or crawling out from futon covers.
Here are the first photos of the new figure:
We've seen a lot of figures of Sadako following the original novel and subsequent movies and games based on the series. For example, she's part of Kotobukiya's Bishoujo line, a Nendoroid appeared, and her noodle stopper figure included her well.
The Ring Sadako Banpresto figure will appear as a prize in Japanese arcades in August 2026, and it's unknown when we might see Bandai Namco release it worldwide. The last movie starring the character is the 2022 film Sadako DX, which only appeared in Japan.

At the very start of March 2026, Shueisha launched a 2nd Global One Piece Character Popularity Poll World Top 100, and three weeks in the company confirmed some people cast an overwhelming number of fradulent votes. On March 25, 2026, the Weekly Shonen Jump Editorial Department issued a statement that stated it removed the false ballots. It also stated it might implement further measures to keep that from occurring again.
How the 2nd Global One Piece Character Popularity Poll World Top 100 is supposed to work is people should only visit the official site once per day to vote for their favorite character. 1,567 heroes, villains, and supporting cast members from the series are present. The official statement noted that improperly cast, illegal votes inflated the amount of support shown. All of the fake votes were removed as of March 25, 2026. As a result, the current vote count worldwide as of time of writing is now 4,618,302.
Here is the full statement from social media:
While we won't know the results until One Piece Day '26, it is possible to see the current world standings for certain regions and countries via the official site. As of time of writing, Sanji is number one in Japan, North America, Central and South America, and Oceania, Nami is first in Europe and the Middle East, Luffy is top in Asia, and Zoro is winning in Africa. To compare, when this poll was last held in 2021, the top five in order were Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Sanji, and Trafalgar Law.
The 2nd Global One Piece Character Popularity Poll World Top 100 voting remains open until June 11, 2026. Results will be revealed during the One Piece Day '26 events in August 2026. Viz Media handles the manga outside Japan, the anime is on services like Crunchyroll and Netflix, the first two live action seasons are on Netflix, and a new animated adaptation called The One Piece is heading to Netflix as well.

Doga Kobo and Crunchyroll confirmed season 4 of Oshi no Ko is in development and will stream worldwide, and the announcement also noted this will be the final season of the anime adaptation. There's no release window for it yet. However, there is a key visual that shows Ai, Aqua, and Ruby Hoshino and a first teaser trailer for the end of the series.
Since the third season of Oshi no Ko is now over and its eleventh episode is live, we know exactly what arcs from the manga will be represented in the final episodes of season 4. From the eighth episode on, the Movie arc started. This means the fourth season will basically cover about two and a half. It will begin at the end of that storyline and adapt all of The End of the Play, and Toward the Stars and Dreams.
Here's the trailer teasing that:
And the key image showing the twins and their mother:
This will mean every season of the Oshi no Ko anime will be streaming on Crunchyroll. That series started out as a HIDIVE exclusive for its first two seasons. With season 3, it showed up on Sony's streaming service. When that happened, the first also ended up added to that library, and the second season is now also there.
Season 4, which is Oshi no Ko Final Season, is in development and will stream on Crunchyroll. Seasons 1 and 3 of the Oshi no Ko anime are on Crunchyroll, while HIDIVE offers all of them available so far. Yen Press handles the manga outside Japan. The live action show is on Amazon.

Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII is back in FFVII Ever Crisis, as the Breaking Chains second part of the event storyline is live, and Square Enix teased new weapons and costumes for Young Sephiroth and Cloud Strife based on Weiss the Immaculate and Nero the Sable. Only the Sephiroth banner is live now, however. There's also a weapon for Cait Sith to earn called a Sable Megaphone.
Since the Sephiroth Weiss costume and sword are available through a banner live until April 22, 2026, we know what to expect. His weapon is called Immaculate Blade, and the gear is The Immaculate. Both are five-star pieces. The sword has the Sunder Earth+ C Ability that deals 750% earth damage to all enemies and decreases their earth resistance and the Boost PATK and Boost Earth Potency R Abilities. Meanwhile, The Immaculate comes with an Earth Ability Dmg Up buff, a Boost Earth Pot buff for allies, and the Ultra Sunder Earth C Ability that deals up to 2,000% physical earth damage to enemies and applies a debuff that increases the amount of physical damage they take.
As for the other items, it will take some time to get them. There's no word on when the Cloud Nero the Sable sword and costume banner will show up in FFVII Ever Crisis yet. With the Cait Sith Sable Megaphone, that's tied to actually getting through the Dirge of Cerberus event. So it will take some time to earn and find out how helpful it might be.

Nintendo and Illumination shared a new The Super Mario Galaxy Movie announcement and film poster that revealed Fox McCloud from Star Fox will appear. It is unknown if he will be the only cameo character from that series to show up. We also don't know who his voice actor will be yet. This follows a previous social media teaser that suggested Pikmin will show up as well.
The Fox McCloud The Super Mario Galaxy Movie poster shows him in front of what appears to be the Arwing from Star Fox. He is wearing his standard pilot uniform from those games. There's also an Ukiki, a monkey-like character from the Super Mario and Yoshi's Island series standing alongside him. No sign of any other characters, like Falco Lombardi, Peppy Hare, or Slippy Toad, appears.
Here's how that looks:
And in case you missed the Pikmin confirmation, that happened earlier in March 2026.
Both reveals followed confirmation that Super Mario Bros 2 characters Birdo and Wart would return for this film.
These sorts of cameos aren't too uncommon for these films. Some of the major characters in the original The Super Mario Movie ended up being Donkey Kong series staples like DK, Diddy Kong, and Cranky Kong.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will appear in theaters on April 1, 2026. The last mainline game in the Star Fox series was Star Fox Zero for the Wii U, which also included the game Star Fox Guard.

Morinaga Milk has revealed that it will release Pokemon-branded Kraft sliced cheese packages in Japan in early April 2026. This crossover will help celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Pokemon franchise.
This crossover will have specific Pokemon—namely Pikachu, Snorlax, and Eevee—adorn a Kraft cheese package. Each of the cheese slices' wrapping will also feature Pokemon illustrations, although it is worth noting that the Melty and Flavorful Sliced Cheese version will also feature the Eeveelutions in addition to Eevee itself.
The Japanese press release also notes that all packages will have the same price tag of ¥475 (~$2.99). However, each of them will have a different expiry period, as listed below:
Kraft will thus join the ever-expanding list of brands that have new Pokemon crossover products for the franchise's 30th anniversary. Other notable collaborations revealed earlier include Heinz's tomato ketchup bottles, Uniqlo's new T-shirts, All Nippon Airways' new jet plane liveries, and TIME magazine covers.

Climbing massive spires is just one of the countless activities players can do in Crimson Desert and, in fact, is one of the most important, even if it is mostly optional. They are usually gateways to various Abyss puzzles, some of which unlock powerful new skills and abilities.
The Spire of Ringing Truth is a challenging one, especially due to the excruciatingly difficult boss fight that's necessary to complete it and reach its related Abyss levels. So, if you're struggling, here's what you need to do.
How to solve the Spire of Ringing truth puzzle in Crimson Desert
The initial challenge of the Spire of Ringing Truth is climbing it. What you need to do is reach the very top of the spire, using its interior wooden platforms to do it. You are tasked with essentially climbing over numerous scaffoldings, with the goal of taking down the massive bell at the top of the Spire, and then sending it crashing down to the bottom to open up the next area.
The best way to do this is to scale the walls rather than the scaffolds. You can generally reach just about every level of the Spire by walking up to the pillars next to the winding stairs and climbing them to the top, using the scaffolds and platforms along the way to reset your stamina.
A roadblock you'll eventually come across is when you reach the huge hole in the ceiling with no apparent way to go up. You need to climb the platform on the right, and you can do so by engaging the climbing mechanic on the wood beneath it and then sliding to the platform until you're allowed to go up. If you have the stamina, you can use Axiom Force's high jump to propel yourself upward, though it is rather costly.
Once through the hole, continue pressing toward the bell, and then use Axiom Force to hit the loose chains holding it to start the cutscene and send it down. It'll open up a massive hole leading to the bottom of the Spire, which you can go through to get to the next mandatory area.
How to beat Priscus the Ancient in Crimson Desert
Now for the fun part. Priscus the Ancient is an excruciatingly challenging boss, but one that can easily be brought down if you use a very specific skill, which at this point describes just about every boss in this game.
Once you've jumped down, the fight won't engage until you go near the massive blue laser in the wall, so I'd recommend you use this calm before the storm to unlock the Nature's Snare ability. It allows you to enter Focus and then activate spinning leaves that block any incoming projectiles. On top of that, you can upgrade it to get yet another ability, which lets you use those absorbed attacks against the enemy, dealing massive damage to their Poise but also potentially knocking them down.
To say these are absolutely mandatory for Priscus would be an understatement, as this boss more or less cannot be killed without these two skills, and especially the first one.
Once you have them, engage the fight and watch for Priscus' attacks. The primary attack you need to watch out for is telegraphed by his flying up and summoning several squares around him, which start firing loads of projectiles at you after a brief delay. Use Nature's Snare to block these projectiles and then use the counterattack to deal huge damage to his Poise and HP.
This can be done on most of his projectile-based attacks, but whenever he tries to plant those explosives on the ground or summon the squares above your head with extended spikes, Nature's Snare won't help, and you'll have to rely on old-fashioned dodging.
Furthermore, Nature's Snare can be used when he's not using any projectiles at all, and so long as you channel it enough, the Poise damage from the counterattack should still be substantial. Once he's knocked down, you can perform a finisher on him for huge HP damage, while using the Crows dropped by Crowcaller can help you get ranged hits in for when he flies away.
With Priscus dead, you'll be able to go to the laser mentioned above and enter the Abyss, leading you into a chain of puzzles that'll eventually grant you the Frost Imbue Element skill.

Life is Strange Reunion is now available on PC and consoles, and there are plenty of graphics settings to tweak if you want the best performance. The general performance in the first couple of hours has been pretty smooth. However, I have encountered some minor stutters on my system, and these settings should help you to fix any issues that might occur.
Best Life is Strange Reunion Graphics settings
Before I deep dive into the settings, here's my current setup.
Here's another pointer: the settings mentioned below are mostly meant for systems that are on the lower end when it comes to your rig capacity. If you already own a setup that's overpowered by current times, you don't need to bother much. Things should be fine on the default settings.
For now, I have kept the FPS capped at 60 to ensure smooth overall performance. I tried uncapped, but there were a few stutters. VSync is turned off by default, and there doesn't seem to be a point in turning it on. You gain very little in my experience, and keeping it turned off will ease the load on your hardware.
Overall, the general performance of Life is Strange Reunion is pretty consistent, and the few issues should be sorted out over the next few patches.

With the success of The Elder Scrolls Online's Dragonknight rework, fans are already counting down the days for Update 50. There's a lot on the table for when it releases, though it may take a bit of time until then.
ESO's U50 won't bring any major class reworks, but it will significantly shake up all classes by adding to them rather than transforming. Werewolves, however, will get some new life with the update. Here's when it releases.
ESO Update 50 release date
Though there is no official release date for ESO's U50 yet, Zenimax shared that it will go live in June 2026. This is in line with the usual interval of around three months between major updates, following U49 in March.
You can expect U50 to contain the Werewolf rework, as well as the Class Mastery passives for those who don't subclass, and a plethora of other improvements. Having bonuses for not borrowing skill lines from other classes is arguably the most meta-defining part of the update, at least for PvE: most (if not all) meta builds pick up bonuses from other trees, such as Nightblades' Assassination, Sorcerers' Storm Calling, or, more ubiquitously, Arcanists' Herald of the Tome.
The player experience livestream on March 26 also showcased a few improvements coming with the update, such as:
ESO Update 50 PTS release date
If you'd like to get an early look at U50, some parts of the patch are scheduled to land on the Public Test Server (PTS) on April 13. This is an important opportunity to provide feedback and shape the major content drop (though if you're just there to flirt with the vampire quest giver, we won't judge you).
Zenimax will share more information in livestreams before then, with a Seasons Direct on March 31 and another broadcast on April 9. Before U50 lands, players will also have the release of season zero on April 2 and the Night Market on April 29.
Players will have to wait to fully take on what ESO offers with Update 50, though Zenimax has enough in stock to keep us occupied until then.

Packs are one of many things you'll find in Crimson Desert from your adventures, and they come in different shapes and sizes. Some of them have specific uses that become integral for clearing the late-game contents.
This guide will provide you with all the details regarding Packs in the game.
Table of contents
How to get Packs in Crimson Desert
Packs are obtained randomly by clearing in-game content. This includes quests that are part of the main (and side) arcs. You can also find them at random by defeating different enemies. The drop rate appears to be pretty common, but varies across types.
Some of the advanced packs, like the Kuku Rocket Pack, are specific in nature since they're upgrades. You have to start with the basic version (the Kuku Pack in this case) and upgrade it as per their requirements.
How to use Packs in Crimson Desert
The most important use for Packs is in crafting. You can use them to craft and upgrade the Kuku Pack. You can also use them for advanced upgrades in the Kuku Shop. First, you'll need to find the blueprints and start to craft them with the right materials and packs.
Incidentally, a few packs deal elemental damage, and you can use them in combat. The Flamethrower Pack, for example, can be used to shoot fire and works just like a ranged weapon. You can get them as random drops from Bandits.
The Kuku Boltspitter, which is an upgrade of the Kuku Pack, does the same thing as the Flamethrower Pack. However, you inflict Lightning hits instead of fire.
Finally, there are the cosmetic packs like Deer, Tanner's, and more that don't have any direct uses. They don't offer any stat boosts, and you can't use them for crafting/as weapons. You can choose to sell them for Copper and use the currency to buy other items.

Seeing Warframe miss is more difficult than getting a Legendary Core. The Follie's Hunt game mode released yesterday was a rare case of that happening, but developer Digital Extremes already set out a list of fixes for the controversial new game mode, coming in future updates.
Developer Digital Extremes shared some of the upcoming changes to the game mode, touching upon several pain points. Follie, the game's main antagonist, will no longer be invincible; instead, Tenno can fend her off with enough damage, getting some breathing room. Multiple Follies can overwhelm the player, especially in the winding halls of the abandoned Vesper Relay, so this provides some agency by letting you fight back.
Additionally, Atramentum pickups will now be shared with the entire squad, and it'll be easier to spot them. The resource is used with the new vendor to purchase Follie's parts, and having to compete with squadmates for them added more friction to an already-frustrating game mode. Inky Walls will be harmless as well, dealing no damage or causing knockdowns.
The changes also include adjustments to lighting and new waypoints directing players to canvas, making it easier to find the necessary objectives. This means less time spent wandering around, though you're still particularly vulnerable (and slow) in Operator/Drifter mode for a huge chunk of the mission.
Follie's Hunt forces the player into powerlessness, being chased by an invincible shadow of Follie that drains their health and energy. Environmental dangers are plentiful and the objectives can be difficult to find. That's intentional, though the initial verdict was that it made for a generally unfun, punishing experience that "encouraged rage quitting," as per Digital Extremes. The fixes could make it more forgiving while still keeping some of the mode's horror-splotched vision, drawing from its prerequisite Chains of Harrow quest.
Warframe's fast-paced, room-deleting action defines the game mode, but the ability to innovate and change the formula is an essential part of its DNA. Follie's Hunt may have been a miss at launch, but Digital Extremes continues to show its prompt responses and attention to player feedback that have been helping Warframe cultivate a loyal following for 13 years.
Update March 26 3:19pm CT: Digital Extremes pushed the changes to Follie's Hunt as part of Hotfix 42.0.2.

Here are some of my best recommendations for inclusion in the evolution.
This is a brilliant goalkeeper evolution that offers some incredible playstyles. The stat upgrades could have been better, but make sure that the evolutions don't expire without you using both counts. Some of the cards (with lower overall) could also be used twice in the evolution if you want the stat boosts to be stronger.

After spending many long months only on PlayStation and PC, Dispatch is finally crossing over to the Xbox. Aiming to launch this summer, it'll come as an Xbox Play Anywhere game, meaning you can buy it once for the Xbox platform and play it on any device.
This was confirmed during today's Xbox Partner Preview, with the release window set for summer 2026. The exact launch date will be shown at a later date, so that's all we have to go off of for now. Dispatch was previously released only on the PS5 and PC, withits developers previously neither confirming nor denying the plan to bring the game to Microsoft's ecosystem as well, given that it's a narratively-driven title with little actual gameplay, not that it's any fast-paced or action-packed gameplay anyhow.
Now, though, it'll be available across the board, bringing its stellar version of superheroes to all players, no matter their platform of choice. Back when it first came out, I gave Dispatch an 8.5, calling it the best-written game of 2025. And it sure is a testament to great writing, with characters that immediately hit it off, sparing no time to either grow on you as lovable but flawed villains or make you hate them head to toe.
It's an incredible game that unfortunately suffers from some major pacing issues, on account of its episodes that burn brighter than the sun but not nearly as long. Not enough is afforded to characters like Invisigal, whose character arc and conflicted nature remain with me as some of the most interesting story beats I've ever come across in a video game, but who ultimately doesn't stick around for long as other characters take up what little bandwidth there is left in the story.
Either way, it's a great title, and I'm genuinely happy to see it successful enough to be ported over to multiple platforms, allowing players of every kind to pick it up and enjoy it. Hopefully, it won't come to Xbox after going through half-assed censorship, unlike its Switch 2 counterpart.

One of the best games of 2025, and one of the best roguelikes ever, is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S soon.
Supergiant Games announced today that Hades 2 will be launching on PS5 and Xbox in just a few weeks. Not only that, but the stellar title will also be available as part of a Game Pass subscription. It's a big win for gamers everywhere.
Previously, the sequel to Hades was only available on PC via early access on Steam before launching on the Nintendo Switch 2 this past September. I reviewed the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game last year and had very little negative to say about it, awarding it a 9.5 score.
Hades 2 stars Melinoë, the younger sister of Hades main character Zagreus, in her efforts to wrest control of the underworld from the Titan Chronos. I don't think you need to play Hades 1 to enjoy the sequel, but I do recommend it if you can manage, because they're both some of the best that the action roguelike genre has to offer. Plus, there are a lot of story beats that are mentioned in the sequel, so you may get lost a bit.
While Hades 2 is indeed more of the same greatness as Hades, on top of different areas, story, weapons, and characters, it offers a nice quality of life upgrade in that you can carry over your progress from other platforms. At least, the Switch 2 version let me use my progress from the Steam version of the game, so hopefully the same will be applied to PS5 and Xbox.
Hades 2 launches on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Game Pass on April 14. For those keeping track at home, that's a little bit less than three weeks from now.

The Elder Scrolls Online's Gold Coast Bazaar is a dream for fashionistas, furnishing experts, and customization aficionados. ESO's new storefront has a wide range of items for sale, all in a convenient location.
The Gold Coast Bazaar launched during Jester's Festival in March 2026, also ushering in the new Trade Bar currency and burying the old Event Tickets. Here's where you can find it and marvel at how much it offers.
ESO Gold Coast Bazaar location
The Gold Coast Bazaar is located in its own tab in the Crown Store, rather than an actual physical destination. Open your Crown Store and find the Trade Bar icon, between the main interface and the Seals of Endeavor shop. There, you'll find a myriad of goodies to buy with this scarce resource.
The Gold Coast Bazaar has a wealth of prime-time goodies, including some rare drops from past events. They cost Trade Bars, which can be obtained during an active event or from the Tamriel Tome.
What's in the Gold Coast Bazaar in ESO?
Inside, you can find anything from furnishings to mounts to full-on residences, though some of them come with a steep price tag. This includes event items such as the 10th Anniversary Hero costumes for each alliance, for instance. At release, the most expensive item in stock is the Grand Gallery of Tamriel player house, which sets you back a whopping 11,000 Trade Bars—or 110 Event Tickets, under the previous system.
This means you probably won't be able to grab any of the higher-value goodies in a single event, since Trade Bars are limited. The Tamriel Tome system (ESO's take on the battle pass model) will likely also offer some, and further celebrations bring different ways to save for your favorite picks. That Breton Armor isn't gonna magically appear in your inventory just by looking hard at it (believe me, I've tried).
The Gold Coast Bazaar is a more evergreen version of an event store, whereas the Impresario continues to offer limited-time event goodies tied to whatever celebration is on tap. Unlike the Bazaar, she's located outside most major cities, and you must actually head to her tent to purchase her products.

The bizarre and violent world of Outlast Trials has been expanded with even more content, as the game's sixth season of content takes us to the world of film and TV production. Project Judas adds loads of new stuff to the game, including a new environment and trial, further expanding Red Barrels' turbocharged co-op horror.
And now might be a great time to give it a try.
With Project Judas included, The Outlast Trials becomes one of the most content-rich co-op horror games out there. Recently, some friends and I decided to finally give this game a real shot after several months of hopping in and out to see if anything's changed. Daunted initially by the game's overt challenge and (at first glance) annoyingly prolonged matches, we avoided sparing it an honest session for far too long, putting off what turned out to be just the experience for our horror-starved group.
And just as we were gearing up and learning how to actually play the game, which falls more in line with the likes of Resident Evil than the franchise it itself belongs to, Red Barrels decided to drop yet another great content that ups the ante and takes us from auction houses selling actual humans and into the world of TV and film, which is somehow even more horrifying than the former.
Another trial, with even more backstory and lore about the Murkoff Facility tied to it, is also part of this new patch, and with this new environment now here, we're probably going to get even more down the line. The lore itself is pretty horrific, and though the singleplayer Outlast games were splatterfests in their own right, they couldn't even hold a candle to the slaughterhouse that are The Outlast Trials.
In the world of friendslop, to which I, too, have fallen prey, spending hours upon hours on this game has really been a meaningful change of pace for me (and my friends, but they'll chew through just about anything so long as it can get a good scare out of them from time to time). It proved to me that we've had a very good co-op horror formula right under our noses, one where we're forced to think on our feet, cooperate and communicate so as to successfully escape any given trial.
Friendslop, on the other hand, has always been a factory of artificial difficulty, and though there are potentially some exceptions, the small teams making them wind up creating unbeatable, RNG-based AI more often than not.
Even so, indie co-op horror games are a treasure trove of innovation and fun concepts, so they still have a special role to play in the future of this interesting genre.
But it might do you good to switch things up a bit, and it'll perhaps help you appreciate indie horror more when you see how much it has influenced mainstream titles, which themselves have sprung out from once-indie studios.

A Pokémon Center employee was stabbed to death in a Tokyo shopping mall today, leading to the store closing indefinitely.
The incident occurred at the Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo in Sunshine City on the evening of March 26. The woman was in her 20s, Reuters reports. The assailant—also in his 20s, according to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department—stabbed the victim at 7:16pm local time before stabbing himself. Both were declared dead at a nearby hospital within an hour.
The Pokémon Company issued a statement on its website shortly after the event, informing fans that the Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo would be closed until further notice.
"Due to the incident that occurred on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo in Sunshine City, Higashi-Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo, we will be temporarily closed until further notice, prioritizing our full cooperation with the police and the physical and mental well-being of our staff," the statement reads. "We sincerely apologize for the great concern and inconvenience this has caused everyone."
The woman was reportedly an employee at the Pokémon Center in the shopping mall. According to The Asahi Shimbun, a prominent news outlet in Japan, police had received complaints from someone who was believed to be the deceased woman over stalking allegations prior to the stabbing.
A video online shows the aftermath of the stabbing, with people running around outside the Pokémon Center store while employees seemingly usher shoppers out of the store.
This is a developing story. More information will be added as we learn more.

It's hard enough to keep track of all of the winding storylines, reboots, and different universes in Marvel comics. Now, a video game has thrown another wrinkle into the equation.
In the latest issue of The Amazing Spider-Man (#25), we now have official confirmation that Marvel Rivals exists as a video game in the "prime" Marvel universe, Earth-616, the base of many of the main comic book stories and arcs. How the hell does any of this work? I don't know, but it's still pretty cool.
In the comic, a panel shows Eddie Brock's (the original Venom) son, Dylan, playing the game, and, naturally, he's a Spider-Man main. And then there's a guy named Paul with the meta reference, saying he "can't believe they still haven't nerfed Gambit." There's a whole bunch of history there that we could dive into, but it's just a funny reference that still makes me scratch my head.
For example, if Marvel Rivals exists as a video game on Earth-616, then that means everything about the game exists there, too, including the game's plot, all of its playable characters, and a myriad of voice lines and dialogue between the heroes, exposing their secret identities.
And what if Marvel Rivals eventually adds a hero from Earth-616 to the game? The entire idea behind the hero shooter is that it includes Marvel characters from across the multiverse and from different universes entirely. Will they know they're in a video game, breaking all immersion for them whatsoever?
I jest. This is all very silly, but I also think it's very cool that Marvel Rivals has gotten big enough and successful enough to earn its place forever in Marvel comics lore within Earth-616, even if it asks a ton of questions that may never be answered. Suspension of disbelief, and all that. Admittedly, I haven't read the comics in quite some time, so I don't know how this all fits in anyway.
But if even Paul thinks Gambit needs more nerfs, then maybe NetEase Games should be reading these books to stay up to date on balancing suggestions. He's still a top choice for Strategist in season seven, after all.

We're a week away from The Super Mario Galaxy Movie releasing, and for some reason, the powers that be spoiled an awesome new character making their first appearance.
I'm slightly mad but also mostly excited because their inclusion is just incredibly cool, but if you want to avoid spoilers, stop looking right now. Go away. Seriously. If you're going to be mad about the surprise reveal about a beloved Nintendo character in the new animated film, leave.
Are you gone? Okay, cool.
FOX MCCLOUD! The intrepid pilot of Star Fox fame has been confirmed to appear in the new movie, after previously being spotted in another trailer by eagle-eyed Nintendo fans, and he got a badass new poster to announce it. Check it out below:
For Nintendo fans and gamers in general, this is tremendous news. The announcement on Twitter/X received over 4.2 million views and 30,000 reposts in a little over an hour, so people are excited, to say the least. And so am I. Because if Fox can be included in this Nintendo and Illumination collaborative world, who else can they throw into the mix?
Teasers and trailers for the upcoming movie have already confirmed the inclusion of Pikmin and R.O.B., on top of Super Mario-specific characters like Bowser Jr., Yoshi, Birdo, Rosalina, Luma, Wiggler, and many others. But if we're doing Fox and other Nintendo characters, too, then the possibilities are limitless.
And that's why I want to see some sort of Super Smash Bros-like collaboration film. It's possible that The Super Mario Galaxy Movie could be introducing a sort of multiverse that could bring in characters from other Nintendo IP, and like in Smash Bros, other game franchises too. There's a blue hedgehog out there with his own film series that's been known to have some run-ins with our favorite Italian plumber, you know.
But why stop there? Nintendo and Illumination could pull out all the stops and create their own Avengers: Endgame with a Super Smash Bros. movie featuring anyone you could think of who's appeared in those games. It would be expensive and a big undertaking, but imagine the possibilities.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie launches worldwide on April 1, and I'll be expecting some sort of Nintendo Nick Fury post-credits scene.
