Jurassic World Evolution 2 Dominion movie DLC leaks for June

It looks like the first proper Jurassic World Evolution 2 DLC expansion for the management game will be based around the Jurassic World Dominion movie and called 'Biosyn' - and is currently down for a release next month, just after the film itself opens.

It's one of the best dinosaur games on PC, but other than a few free updates and smaller DLC packs, we still haven't heard anything about the first proper Jurassic World Evolution 2 expansion - or, if developer Frontier is planning any sort of tie-in with the next movie Jurassic World Dominion, out on June 10.

It seems there will, as the unambiguously titled Jurassic World Evolution 2 Dominion Biosyn expansion just popped up on SteamDB, with a release date of June 14. The title is interesting, as Biosyn is a rival company to InGen that played a large role in the original Michael Crichton novels but has barely appeared in the movies - Dodgson in Jurassic Park worked for Biosyn, so it's kind of the source of the trouble in the entire series. It's rumoured that Dodgson and Biosyn will play some part in Dominion, so this DLC might be confirmation.

An Elden Ring fashion show is in the works

There are many great Elden Ring armour sets to try out in the RPG game, and you might get to show them off too in the first Elden Ring fashion show. Unfortunately, it's been held up a little due to "some complications" with the submissions process.

A potential fashion showcase was first discussed last month on Reddit, with users deciding which Elden Ring classes the initial show should focus on. The knight class is up first, followed by the best Elden Ring cosplay - which has already got some fantastic possibilities, from Bloodborne bosses to Jesus. Mods and glitches aren't allowed, incidentally.

You can few the various knight submissions and cosplay submissions already. However, in an update this weekend, Reddit moderator and fashionista Vi_for_Vindictive posted that there's been "some complications with the process" mostly due to the "significant variation between submissions" - with some entrants only offering a single photo, whereas others presented an entire album. Unfortunately, they've had trouble getting in touch with the entrants, so it seems the first show is delayed for a little while longer.

This Minecraft flying mod lets you ride on phantoms

Minecraft allows many wondrous things like making it home to your Dungeons & Dragons game or modding it into a blocky version of Elden Ring. While right now players can only ride on ground-based creatures, one Redditor decided to make a Minecraft flying mod to take to the skies as a winged phantom.

Ameito on Reddit looked at the building game and decided that players should be allowed to mount winged creatures. There are multiple flying Minecraft mobs and Ameito chose the phantom for this experiment. The phantom is an undead mob that only spawns if a player hasn't slept or died for three or more in-game days, which is specific enough that some players might have never seen one.

Ameito's mod lets players ride the elusive creatures, using an ender eye to tame them. "When you throw an ender eye to a phantom," the modder explains, "it will kill it and summon an invisible llama and a new phantom with specific tags. The phantom is constantly teleported to the llama position so when you mount the llama, it actually looks like you are riding the Phantom."

FFXIV on Steam Deck is now fixed, says Valve

Gabe Newell can relax again, as a Steam Deck FFXIV fix is finally here. The popular Final Fantasy MMO game received an update back in March with a new launcher that stopped Final Fantasy XIV from working on Valve's portable gaming PC - now it seems like it's fixed at last.

According to the latest patch notes for the Proton experimental branch (via Gaming on Linux) - which, of course, is the operating system Steam Deck uses - Valve confirms that the new Final Fantasy XIV launcher should work correctly with Proton and Steam Deck again. While this is only a test update right now, Proton 7.0.2 should go live in due course.

Previously, if you tried to launch FFXIV on the console it would simply hang with no way to progress. It was a little embarrassing having the fantasy game be broken on Steam Deck given that Valve head Gabe Newell was such a cheerleader for it, so it's good that it'll be officially fixed once Valve pushes the update live.

Battlefield 2042 continues to receive updates as EA Dice attempt to fix a game that felt woefully incomplete at launch. Which makes it a little odd that the marquee change in patch 4.1 is the removal of a feature: Breakthrough mode can no longer be played with 128 players, and is now limited to 64.

Not that Battlefield 2042's website or digital store pages have been updated to reflect that change yet.

pokemon best astral radiance cards

The new Pokemon Trading Card Game expansion, Astral Radiance, has a lot of cool inclusions, mostly built around the introduction of Hisui to the world of the TCG. But which are the best Astral Radiance cards? As always, it depends on what you're wanting, but we're here to help no matter your criteria!

The coolest cards

As with the last set, the undeniable coolest cards to pull belong to the Trainer Gallery subset. Starmie V is hanging out in the pool with Misty, presumably chilling between sessions of ruining everyone's first Nuzlocke runs. Flapple looks like it's having a good time with Milo, too. There's also a whole host of Galarian legendaries in the mix this time, like Calyrex V, Zacian V and Zamazenta V.

Origin Forme Palkia and Dialga are certainly flashy presences here. They're big honkin' creatures with big honkin' effects and even bigger and honkin'-er VSTAR forms. We're honestly a bit surprised that The Pokemon Company didn't hold these two back as the centerpieces of their own set sometime later. But hey, we got a new generation on the way soon, so no time like the present, we suppose!

Also the reintroduction of shiny Pokemon to the TCG, now dubbed Radiant, leads to some flashy effects! It's fun to throw down Radiant Greninja, a Basic somehow, and use its turn-Water-energy-into-two-cards power. And, you know, it looks very cool in its alternate colors.

The most interesting cards

As the Pokemon TCG keeps building toward super-powerful Pokemon V, the new Miltank card could be nice to have around. It's immune to damage from those creatures, meaning your opponent will have to find a normal old card to take you out.

Similarly, its Stage 2 status is probably too much of a pain to see competitive play, but Bastiodon reduces damage to your whole party from Pokemon V by 30.

Regidrago might be fun, too? If you put it in your active spot, you can draw up to four cards each turn and really stock up on strategies and resources.

The most meta-relevant cards

Switch Cart, new to this set, should show up in a lot of competitive decks as a direct upgrade to the standard Switch card. It heals the creature switching out a bit! Not a heck of a lot, just for 30, but when you'd just be using Switch anyway, it's only a benefit.

Irida, while limited to Water decks, will likely also see some play. She can search for a Water creature and an Item at the same time, letting you set up whatever combo you need at the moment. Adaman is theoretically more powerful, letting you grab any two cards, but the huge cost of discarding two Steel energy is going to limit its play.

Gardenia's Vigor will also merit some consideration in Grass decks. Both drawing two cards and letting you play two extra energy? Yeah, that's nice. Especially given how much Grass likes attacks that benefit from piles of energy.

Also, hey, Dark Patch is getting a reprint! The popular Item card will be helping Darkness decks for another generation.

The cutest cards

Unsurprisingly, a heaping helping of cute can be found on the cards of adorable starters Rowlet and Oshawott. They're in their element — literally — and having a good time. Though it's hard to go wrong with a Rowlet, you know?

Eevee, resting in the forest, is as cute as ever. And hey: maybe playable? Its ability lets you search for an Stage 1 and evolve it if it's nearby another Eevee evolution. It won't see competitive play, but it makes a fun multi-Eevee deck a bit stronger. Teddiursa, perching atop a Jubilife Village rooftop, seems to be having the time of its life. It's glowing in the moonlight, and we'd go retrieve it and hug it if we were less afraid of heights.

Special credit, though, goes to the Trainer Gallery version of Mightyena. The dark dog is usually more awe-inspiring than aww-inspiring, but its psyched reaction to being served themed treats really won us over. Sparkles!

The latest Pokemon Trading Card Game expansion, Sword & Shield: Astral Radiance, launches on May 27, 2022. For more, read our impressions of the set.

Ninomae Ina'nis Birthday Merchandise Helps You Do Laundry

Ninomae Ina'nis celebrated her "birthday" on May 20, 2022 and, as expected, Hololive announced new merchandise for the Vtuber. While some of the items are expected, a few are a little unorthodox. Among the things people can get are stuff someone would need to do their laundry. That is, a mesh laundry pouch and a laundry bag. Everything is available to pre-order now, both alone and in a set that includes a bonus postcard. It is expected to ship sometime between late-October 2022 and late-November 2022.

The least expensive item in the set is a $4 A4 Magic Clear File. When you place items inside of it, the colors on the front will change. The second piece of birthday merchandise is a big button badge with Ninomae Ina'nis on it. It is $15 and comes with a stand in case someone doesn't want to pin it on something. Her mascot Tako appears as a $19 mesh laundry pouch. Finally, her Laundry Ina Bag is $29. Should someone order the full set, it is $66.

Here's a better look at all of the items in this celebratory collection.

Zenless Zone Zero Hollows and Enemies Teased

HoYoVerse's next game will be Zenless Zone Zero, and a new informational "booklet" explains the Hollows areas areas filled with enemies players will explore. Each Hollow is the distortion that appears in the world. Once inside, there will be anomalies, corruptions, violent humans trying to exploit the area, and enemies like Ethereals and The Corrupted.

The "Survive in a Hollow" pamphlet first explains how the Zenless Zone Zero Hollows in New Eridu work. They can pop up at any time. When they do, from the outside they'll look like a sphere. Inside, there's a resource called Ether that New Eridu employees or Hollow Raiders might extract. That odd air can make it difficult to breathe. Exposure to a Hollow environment can corrupt people.

As for the Zenless Zone Zero enemies, a number of hazards are referred to in the New Eridu Settlers Guide. The Ethereal are native to Hollows. In a way, The Corrupted creatures altered by the environment are too. Some humans will also be inside and hostile, like Hollow Raiders, Proxies, and Thugs. Official New Eridu government employees will also be inside.

Details about Zenless Zone Zero are still trickling out. For example, one of the last announcements revealed Anby. She's one of the heroines folks will meet in the game.

Zenless Zone Zero will come to PCs and mobile devices. A closed beta test is on the way.
