User data from Pokemon Sleep shows that, at least in Japan, players of the game have slept more in 2023 compared to 2022. Players slept almost thirty minutes more on average in September 2023 than in September 2022. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
LY Corporation was the one to present these findings. It tracked data from Pokemon Sleep users and search engines and compared them with a control group that didn't play or use the app. It found that not only did players enjoy around 26 more minutes of sleep on average compared to their sleep time in 2022, but they also tended to research better methods as well. Some search terms that users looked for included aromatherapy recommendations, ways to sleep when not sleepy, and ideal sleep patterns.
In comparison, only a few people from the control group searched for ways to improve their sleep. They also didn't look for as many options as the Pokemon Sleep players. The control group only had a minute more sleep time in 2023 compared to 2022. This study showed that the app did help people sleep more, as well as made them seriously think more about ways to improve it.
Pokemon Sleep is available on mobile devices.

A plush of Mokey Mokey from Yu-Gi-Oh GX has appeared as a prize in crane games in Japan. It's available from Torumo, an online crane game you can download for your iPhone or Android device. [Thanks, Dengeki Online!]
The Yu-Gi-Oh Mokey Mokey plush from Torumo is quite large, at 50 x 45 x 10 cm. Fittingly, Torumo lists it as a "big" plush. The Mokey Mokey plush is made with felt, and so it's soft to the touch. This makes it a good toy to hug as well, according to Torumo. The plush's wings are smaller than the actual Mokey Mokey's, so they don't get in the way when you hold onto it, and it still has the monster's question mark on the head.
Mokey Mokey is a Fairy-Type Normal Monster that debuted during the Yu-Gi-Oh GX era of the franchise. It has fairly pathetic stats on its own. However, some decks revolve around it using the Continuous Spell Card, Mokey Mokey Smackdown. These cards and the Fusion Monster Mokey Mokey King are all available in games like Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel. However, they're not meta at all, so they're more suitable if you want a challenge or if you want to make a joke deck.

You can now check out your Year in Review 2023 for the Nintendo Switch. In order to see it, you will simply need to access this link and log into your Nintendo account.
In your Year in Review for 2023, you can check out how many games you played on the Nintendo Switch for 2023, as well as how much time you played in total. It even breaks down the data into how much time you spent on your top games and which month you spent gaming the most. There is also a chart that details your gaming trends in terms of what genre you tended to play the most in 2023.
At the end, you can download your stats to either save for yourself or share them online. You can also choose your favorite game from all of the ones you played in 2023. I chose Anonymous;Code. However, it's unclear whether it does anything for your profile or the game's store page. The words "Nice pick!" showed up after I clicked the heart button, and that was it.
After looking through your Year in Review, it shows some games that'll come out in 2024. These appear to be general suggestions from Nintendo rather than ones that an algorithm gives based on your gaming trends.

Insomniac Games has taken to Twitter to announce that a new update for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will come out sometime in Early 2024. This update will bring in new features that fans have asked for, such as New Game+ and the ability to replay missions.

Aside from the aforementioned new features, it also promised audio descriptions, the ability to change the time of day, and the ability to swap tendril colors. The new Marvel's Spider-Man 2 update will also include more features. However, Insomniac will likely only announce them closer to the official release window. It noted that these new features require further testing for quality control, which is why they won't come out within the year.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is the third entry in Marvel's Spider-Man video game series on PlayStation, and it chronologically takes place after Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. You can play as both Peter and Miles in this entry. It enjoyed both commercial and critical success. The game sold over 2.5 million copies in the first twenty-four hours of release, making it the fastest-selling first-party PlayStation game. It is also the best-selling PS5 game thus far.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is available on the PS5. There will be a new major update for it sometime in early 2024.

Takashimaya, a department store brand in Japan, has started selling Pokemon Valentine's Day chocolates. Prices for the Pokemon-themed delectibles start from 1760 JPY.
The Pokemon Valentine's Day chocolate collection is a collaboration with Mary Chocolate, which is a brand of sweets in Japan. Aside from the boxes having designs of Pokemon like Misdreavus, Emolga, and Goomy, some of the snacks also have Pokemon designs on them. Here is the list of Valentine's Day chocolates that are currently available at Takashimaya:
Takashimaya accepts international orders, and you can use WorldShopping to send them to you. There aren't any promotions on these Pokemon Valentine's Day chocolates. However, on the off chance that you want to buy something else while you're at it, overseas orders are exempt from any promotions or sales that Takashimaya is holding.
Though you can order these Pokemon Valentine's Day chocolates now, they won't actually arrive until around Valentine's. You can choose a delivery date between February 4 and 14, 2024. A pop-up store based on the live-action adaptation of Yu Yu Hakusho will appear in Japan from December 2023 to February 2024. It'll be available in Yurakucho Marui and Nanba Marui.
You'll first be able to find the Yu Yu Hakusho live-action adaptation pop-up store at the Yurakucho Marui from December 16, 2023 to January 8, 2024. Afterwards, you'll be able to catch it at the Nanba Marui. It'll be there from February 10 to 18, 2024.
All of the items use the promotional images of the four main characters staring at the viewer. Items that you'll be able to purchase, along with their prices in JPY, are:
If you purchase over 2200 JPY worth of merchandise in one transaction, you're eligible for a free random postcard. Also, if you have an Epos Card and purchase over 3000 JPY worth of goods, you can get a free collectible card.
Though over thirty years have passed since Yu Yu Hakusho started serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump, this is the first time that the story has appeared in a live-action format. The anime and manga series follows Yusuke Urameshi, a delinquent who dies after uncharacteristically saving a child from getting hit by a car. In exchange for coming back to life, he becomes a detective for the Spirit World.
The Yu Yu Hakusho live-action adaptation will air on Netflix on December 14, 2023.

Cospa announced that two new Naruto Shippuden and One Piece T-shirts will be available for sale at Jump Festa 2024. Both T-shirts will cost 3,500 yen (or approximately $24) and each one includes a special limited edition sticker.
The Jump Festa 2024 event will be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan on December 16-17, 2023. In addition, both T-shirts will also be available for purchase on the Cospa online store from January 18, 202.
The Naruto Shippuden T-shirt features protagonist Naruto Uzumaki striking a pose. The Hidden Leaf Village symbol is displayed behind him, and the caption "Village Hidden In The Leaves – Naruto Uzumaki" appears below him.
Meanwhile, the One Piece T-shirt features the Straw Hat Crew Jolly Roger. The symbol is adorned with a textured paisley pattern. The names of all the members of the crew are written on the back of the T-shirt, including the latest addition of Jinbe.

I really don't know how long I've played Baldur's Gate 3. When I check my Steam account, it says I've racked up close to two hundred hours, but I find that hard to believe. When I check my save files, I have four different characters, some finished and others in stasis due to multiplayer sessions that have been held off due to other obligations. But the Baldur's Gate 3 epilogue has me jumping back in the saddle.
Originally, I was just going to call it quits until an eventual Definitive Edition released or when Larian Studio would announce the final patch for the sprawling CRPG. No, I'm back and I'm deep in it.
It only took a friend on social media to announce that they were playing Baldur's Gate 3 for the first time, and the moment she started telling me about her campaign I was ready to give the game another shot. (This being the fourth or fifth time.) While I've basically exhausted what you can do in the main scenario and completed all available side quests, bar romancing everyone in the cast since I tend to gravitate towards Gale or Shadowheart, I'm in it for the epilogue.
Generally, I don't have favorable opinions of games that release loads of post-launch content that isn't labeled as DLC. This is largely because I'm harsh on the current state of the industry, with developers being forced to push out half-finished games for this is a very expensive hobby. Paying $60 to $70 for a half-baked product wouldn't fly in any other creative medium.
But against my better judgment, and because I'm waiting for games like Granblue Fantasy Relink to release in January 2024, I started up another playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3. Yeah, I could just load-up an old save file and see the ending that way, but I've forgotten chunks of the journey and want to re-experience it. Maybe the game will be more stable now and I'll enjoy it now that my thoughts on the game cooled. Or perhaps I just want to like this game so badly in the same way that my friends and peers do that I'm willing to sit through another 60 to 80 hours to see what my favorite companion characters are up to post-credits.
I never got a conclusive ending for Karlach. The first time I beat the game, Jaheira literally asked where Karlach was after the final fight (after Astarion sprinted into the depths of the city before nearly immolating in the setting sun) before the game cut to credits. Maybe this time I'll actually see what happens to Karlach in the Baldur's Gate 3 epilogue, since I was unmotivated to take her with me in other playthroughs due to numerous bugs that plagued the character. I already know I'll like whatever they build on with Astarion, Shadowheart, and Gale, and not just because these were my mainstay party members.
But with over 3,000 words added into the epilogue, I'm expecting something meaty and, most of all, fun. Because despite Baldur's Gate 3 not really having a tone I exactly enjoy, I know that the narration will carry whatever it is that happens. And that it's OK for things to be a little goofy — which I will expect it will be having seen a GIF of Astarion in bat form on social media a week or so ago.
Regardless, I hope the Baldur's Gate 3 epilogue serves to round-out the experience and offer a more satisfying ending to the game. Because while I think aspects of the journey were great, the ending felt like a missed opportunity to really elaborate on what your companions would be up to post-game. Or maybe that will show up in future DLC or even installments in the series. Because with Baldur's Gate 3 winning Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2023, I don't think this is the last time we'll be traipsing around Faerun and The Sword Coast.

Crunchyroll announced its Winter 2024 new anime line-up, which will begin on December 29, 2023. Things kick off with Burn the Witch and include a new One Piece arc, Solo Leveling, Frieren, and other shows.

There are 28 shows that will be streaming on the subscription service starting in January 2024. Some are new seasons or arcs of existing ones. These include Burn the Witch, Mashle, and One Piece Egghead Island Arc. But many are entirely new, like Fluffy Paradise or Solo Leveling.
Here's the full list of the new shows, including when they will air. If dubs are confirmed already, those are noted.
Keep in mind that Crunchyroll often announces additional new anime series after its first reveal of a line-up for a season. So we could learn about more upcoming shows.
Returning anime series that are part of the Crunchyroll Winter 2024 line-up of shows:
Technically, someone could consider One Piece a returning show, since it had been airing prior and this is the new Egghead Island arc. (Crunchyroll is classifying it as new.) However, the following seven series will continue running as usual. Their new episodes will follow the current schedule.

Larian Studios have launched "A Very Baldur's Gate Christmas," a 12 day series of simple puzzles containing snippets of a Baldur's Gate 3 Christmas story. The first puzzle and story piece are available today, with the others becoming available day-by-day until December 24, 2023.
The puzzles are a simple card-matching memory game, which upon completion will let you read the day's story snippet. The Baldur's Gate 3 story snippet for December 13, 2023 concerned the Gremishka, a malevolent and folkloric creature that despises the holiday. As the other days unlock, a narrative will play out, which is promised to contain "a Larian twist." Tabletop gaming-themed prizes are also promised, however details about them do not seem to be available through the site.
Larian also recently made Baldur's Gate 3 available for Xbox, with the game appearing on the marketplace during 2023's The Game Awards after being previously teased. The developer also released some statistics from the game, including the reveal that Shadowheart was the most popular romance option.
The "A Very Baldur's Gate Christmas" website, along with the first puzzle and story piece, are available now with more becoming available each day until December 24, 2023. Meanwhile, Baldur's Gate 3 is immediately available on PC, PS5 and now Xbox Series X.

The Moonstone Island winter update is now out, bringing new decorations, some quality-of-life changes and a collection of new spirits. To celebrate this major update, the game is also receiving a 20% discount until December 20, 2023.
Studio Supersoft had previously announced the free contents of the winter update, which includes a collection of seasonal decorations. These include a gingerbread house, presents and snowflake garlands. More decorations will be available in a paid DLC. In addition, players will have access to a bigger Spirit Barn and will be able to store up to 300 Spirits at the Science Center. There will also be a Warp Totem which will add fast travel to the game. A new infinite dungeon and new spirits have also been added, but the details of these are being left for players to discover for themselves.
A few issues have also been patched as part of the update. This includes a bug that prevented progress in the Earth Temple if players used fertilizer instead of the Alchemist's Wand, an exploit allowing players to reap double crops by pressing two buttons at once and the mysterious appearance of Dark Matter in chests.
To celebrate the release of the winter update, Studio Supersoft has announced there will be a discount on Moonstone Island for a week. From now until December 20, 2023, there will be 20% off. In addition, the paid winter DLC will receive a 15% discount for this week, which will normally be sold for $3.99.
Moonstone Island is out now for PC, with a Switch version on the way. The winter update is out now.
