So far, I have asked a dancing French assassin to rescue a balloon from a tree, sent a randomly transforming literal batman to thwart a boat robbery, ordered a golem and an invisible woman to break up a barfight between rival vigilantes, and tasked a light-manipulating popstar with cutting a supermarket ribbon. We managed to retrieve the balloon and open the supermarket with flying colours, but the boat is now at the bottom of the harbour. The golem and the invisible woman tried to resolve the barfight firstly by proposing that the participants form a Dynamic Duo, and then by way of a drinking competition. Now, the bar is in ruins. Also, the team's Human Torch equivalent can't go on break without starting a fire. |

Each day you'll train with your fiery sling, lighting braziers and honing your aim for a looming ceremony where you'll try to hit a distant ritual chalice with a single shot. At night, you'll sit at a confession wall. People will tell you their wishes, and you'll decide which will ones be granted if the ceremony is a success. The whole game takes place on a single large balcony, overlooking the sea. Tradition forbids you from speaking back to the wishful folk that come at night, feeding their braids through a statue for you to cut in acceptance, or else ignore. The only other person you'll actually see is your mentor, a likeable septuagenarian who's presided over these rituals for decades. You train, eat, listen to wishes, and sleep. After a few days of this, it's time for the ceremony. As I say, takes about an hour. |

If you want to two-hand any weapon in Elden Ring Nightreign, you'll likely find that trying to do it is a lot more challenging than you might admit if you don't know the specific button combinations needed to access it.
Having a two-handed weapon does come with its added benefits. You deal a lot more damage while two-handing a weapon and deal more Poise Damage if you have a good Poise stat. Poise Break lets you break your enemies more often, for example.
You also get a different moveset using two-handed weapons, but your attacks do become slower, opening you up for attacks far more often. So be sure to weigh the positives and negatives of each two-handed weapon type, and don't two-hand something like a shield, for example.
But with the explanation out of the way, let's go into how it works.
How to two-hand in Elden Ring Nightreign
To two-hand any weapon in-game, you need to hold the interact button and press either the left or right attack button while the interact button is held down.
On a PS5 controller, you need to hold down the Triangle button while pressing R1 for your right weapon and L1 for your left weapon. On Xbox, this would be holding down the Y button while pressing either RB or LB, and lastly, for PC players, this is holding down Alt and clicking the left or right mouse button.
You can change which buttons these controls are associated though, in the Key Bindings settings menu, but for the most part, these are the standard controls if you haven't tinkered with anything.
As for when is the best time to use two-handed weapons, I find it's always best to use them in a run when you have been very unlucky with finding good weapons or Smithing Stones to upgrade your current kit. If you have a low-strength weapon, using two-handed is a way to deal more than the base damage and give you and your team a fighting chance to survive more days that pass.
Equally, some players might prefer the chance to drain more HP with heavy attacks and break opponents more easily, or prefer the style of fighting overall. So hope the explanation helps you!

Elden Ring Nightreign has finally arrived, and the bravest of souls are jumping in either solo or in teams of three to take on the various bosses in this new rogue-like take on the soulslike formula.
A multiplayer souls-like game is not going to be for everyone, though, especially when you need a team of three to enjoy the game to the fullest, as there is no option to play as a duo or more than three players. Solo is also incredibly difficult currently and needs to be rebalanced to make it workable for the vast majority of players who haven't got thousands of hours of grinding beneath their feet.
So I have to wonder, are you planning to pick up this game, Destructoid? And if so (and if not), why?
For the aforementioned solo players, there's very little reason to pick this up, especially if you don't like to queue with randoms who might make the experience a nightmare for a game that requires such coordination to make each run work. It's also painfully clear that good teammates who are in sync will have a far better time than those who are running about doing their own thing. You have to work together on this one.
So what are your plans? It's pretty affordable, but do you plan to wait and watch some content creators or streamers play it first? Is it not your cup of tea? Are you a day one believer and are already grinding towards the ending and trying to find all the game's secrets?
