It may seem tricky to understand what's going on in Lemnis Gate at first or to even comprehend how it works with its time loop mechanic, but it's actually quite simple.
Watch the video above to see my brain overheat live by trying to explain how it works as I play.
Lemnis Gate is a game about action, reaction and taking advantage of knowing what happened in the previous rounds to better your future rounds.
Amazon Game Studios has said it's working hard to increase the server capacity to help with the massive influx of New World players. It is also working on a feature to allow server transfers.
In a statement released today, the studio said it while it was its aspiration to welcome massive numbers of players into the game during launch week, it was "frankly surprised" by the amount, which was over one million. And it seems, the number is increasing daily, which is causing long queue times for some players in the more popular game worlds.
Since the game's launch on Tuesday, the developers have more than doubled the number of servers, and the team is working to increase the capacity of all available servers to support a higher population cap. The plan is to continue to add as many servers as the team can, and it will continue to do so until wait times are stabilized.
FIFA's at its most fun when you're scoring goals. To make that process as smooth as possible, you'll need to stack your team with the some of the best strikers in FIFA 22.
Whether you're lumping it up to the big man up top or playing intricate triangles with technical wingers, if your personnel aren't up to the task, your game plan won't come off.
As traditional wingers have become rarer, with more emphasis placed on cutting in with inside-forwards than crossing, wide-men have been grouped with the strikers for the last few years.
Twitch has announced a new Boost feature that will enable viewers to essentially pay to advertise their favourite streamers' channels. When this happens, the channel in question gets recommended to the wider Twitch community under the Recommended Channels section.
Twitch developers talked about Boost in the Patch Notes developer livestream yesterday, confirming that the feature is rolling out to a select number of users as the team gathers feedback. As it stands, viewers can buy Recommendations, with the example shown offering 3,000 of these "impressions" for $2.97.
Although there's an obvious benefit to this for smaller streamers, who can rely on their communities to get exposure on Twitch, the move has attracted a lot of criticism from streamers and viewers. Setting aside the ethical quandaries of paying to advertise someone else's work, the concept is similar to viewbotting, a process by which shady companies offer to boost a stream's view count so it gains a more favourable placement on the Twitch's front page, using bots and scripts.

The team behind upcoming open world RPG Forspoken has discussed a number of details about the game, including its spells, antagonists, and 'magic parkour'.
New World has seen literally overwhelming popularity since launch, leading Amazon to double the game's server capacity already – and it's now asking new players to choose less popular servers.

Square Enix is leaning on the creator of the Active Time Battle (ATB) system from Final Fantasy to create a new, unique RPG experience set to come out in two weeks. Hiroyuki Ito, known for ATB and directing Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age, leads this minimalist dungeon crawler called Dungeon Encounters.
Dungeon Encounters tasks players to explore grid-based labyrinths where, along the way, you'll find allies, fight monsters, and earn abilities. Traversing these barren maps look to be a big part of Dungeon Encounters. Each square you move is counted, with total map completions rewarding ability points. Abilities can strategically shift enemy or player placements in the dungeon to dodge a conflict or travel to a hard-to-reach segment of the gameboard.
Combat plays out with, you guessed it, the Active Time Battle system. Adventuring in the mazes, you'll come across a variety of characters to add to your party. The trailer above shows off a ton of potential friends take along grid spelunking. These party members aren't exclusive to humanoid adventurers but also include a sword-wielding dog, a panther, and my favorite so far, a sizeable Totoro-like character named Sir Cat.
We don't have to wait long to delve deep down into Dungeon Encounters. It's releasing on PlayStation 4, Switch, and Steam on October 14.

The recent trend of exploring RPG systems in minimalistic visual spaces is intriguing, though not entirely new. Last week saw the announcement of Voice of Cards: The Dragon Isle Roars, a game in a similar vein relying on a card aesthetic instead of sprites or 3D models for its characters. I'm all for it as long as the systems to play with are fun. What do you think of Dungeon Encounters and its stripped-down look? Let us know in the comments!
Bloober Team has most recently became known as the studio behind The Medium and Observer, but it all started with its Layers of Fear franchise. The studio announced during Tokyo Game Show that it is returning to its roots with a third game in the series slated for 2022.
The new game remains untitled for now but is being made in Unreal Engine 5. A teaser trailer establishes an unsettling atmosphere while ostensibly showing off the game's presumed graphical fidelity.
The first two Layers of Fear games were released in 2016 and 2019, respectively. Each tells psychological horror stories set in haunted areas with areas that constantly morph and change shape, messing with the players' sense of perception. In the first game, you control a painter struggling to complete his latest masterpiece. The sequel puts you in the shoes of a Hollywood actor cast to star in a film aboard a cruise ship. While they weren't the most universally beloved titles (read our reviews for Layers of Fear and Layers of Fear 2), the series certainly has its fans and hopefully, Bloober Team has learned valuable lessons to apply in the third entry.
Bloober Team also reiterated that it has two unannounced AAA games in development, which the studio previously stated were larger in scope than its last title, The Medium. Bloober Team has also spent the past few months deflecting rumors that one of those games is a new Silent Hill project.
Are excited for a new Layers of Fear game and what improvements would you like to see in the third title? Let us know in the comments!
Square Enix's Tokyo Game Show presentation provided a chaotic new look at Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin. A beefy new trailer delivered confirmation that Team Ninja's wacky spin-off/prequel to Final Fantasy 1 arrives on March 18.
The new trailer shows off more the game's action-heavy combat as Jack and his fellow warriors of light, Ash and Jed, are joined by a new party member named Neon. The foursome is on a journey to kill Chaos, employing a flashy moveset of melee and magic attacks to get the job done. Today's trailer provided additional story teases and revealed some of the strange personalities you'll encounter during your journey. One of them is a pirate. In addition to today's video, Square Enix is planning a dedicated Stranger or Paradise livestream for October 2.
A new playable demo is available now for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin Trial Version 2 serves as an expansion of the first demo, adding a new stage and tossing Neon into the group. You can also sample an expanded roster of jobs and try out the game's multiplayer for the first time. Trial Version 2 concludes on October 11. Hopefully, this demo has an easier launch than the last one did.
Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store. Those who purchase the PS4 version to play on PS5 will be treated to free visual and gameplay enhancements. By the same token, Xbox players can take advantage of Smart Delivery to automatically enjoy the optimal version of the game.
A Digital Deluxe Edition bundles a digital artbook, mini soundtrack, and Season Pass for three future DLC missions: Trials of the Dragon King, Wanderer of the Rift, and Different Future. Those who pre-order the Digital Standard or Digital Deluxe Edition can access the full game 72 hours before it launches. You'll also gain the Braveheart and Rebellion weapons, the Lustrous Shield, and a PS4 theme.
Update (Fri 1st October, 2021): As a friendly reminder, Nintendo's 'Blockbuster' sale is coming to an end this weekend. The deals will remain live on the eShop until Sunday 3rd October at 23:59 your local time in Europe, or 23:59 PT in the US. Consider this your final warning, and happy shopping!
Original Article: Nintendo has announced a mighty Blockbuster Sale for Nintendo Switch, discounting lots of popular games by as much as 75%.
A Boy and His Blob was a lovely game on Wii, with developer WayForward producing a smart and substantially improved offering on its NES source of inspiration; the game would go on to have HD iterations on other systems.
Nintendo players will finally get to sample the game while it's looking at its high-def best, it seems, with publisher Ziggurat confirming that it's coming to Switch this Fall / Autumn. You can see some PR blurb below.
"I think what they're gonna see is a nice live-feeling and chaotic show".

As we reported just a few days ago, Scottish comedian, writer, poet and self-professed "God of Games" Robert Florence has been announced as host of the upcoming reboot of Channel 4's iconic GamesMaster. Alongside co-hosts Frankie Ward and Ty Logan, Robert will be bringing us a fresh new take on the challenge-based hijinks of the '90s classic as he steps into the shoes of fellow Scot, Dominik Diamond.
For a few years now, Konami has been pretty quiet on the premium games front, preferring to focus on their presumably lucrative pachinko content instead.

Strategy games are no longer as niche as they used to be, but they still don't command the attention of gamers at large in the same way that FPS games or other multiplayer games can. As such, there are few titans to look to as the genre's key pillars, but you can definitely point to Firaxis' Civilization, Creative Assembly's Total War, and Paradox's spread of grand strategy games as such beacons.
If you're the kind of player who enjoys a good chart, such as the ones that can be found on SteamDB, you might see Civilization VI and Total War: Warhammer II sitting pretty high up the list of most-played games on Steam (looking at current and daily peaks). But you might also be surprised to learn that, when viewed in the context series as a whole, the picture of which strategy games are more popular overall changes quite a bit.
User Beneficial_Energy829, posting on the Paradox Plaza subreddit, has pulled together some graphs that look at rolling daily peaks of players for Paradox, Civilization, and Total War titles, going back to 2013. Civilization VI may be the most popular individual strategy game, but for a while now Paradox Development Studio games appear to have been the most popular strategy games in that mix.
Turtle Rock Studios' Back 4 Blood is almost here, and it's likely to entice Left 4 Dead fans back to the gaming PC fold. Thankfully, despite being a modern-day successor to Turtle Rock's original horror FPS, Back 4 Blood's system requirements aren't so gruesome. In fact, the game's recommended specs actually bring Nvidia's GTX series doesn't head to an early grave.
Back 4 Blood's not-so-wretched recommendations are slightly unconventional, as they include entries we're used to seeing on minimum requirements lists. For starters, Turtle Rock Studios recommends a GTX 970 GPU, a card that first made its debut back in 2014. The game's minimum specs include the more modern, albeit less powerful, 1050 Ti, which mean if you're currently rocking an Nvidia RTX GPU, running Back 4 Blood should be a breeze.
Of course, Back 4 Blood's AMD requirements aren't quite as forgiving as Nvidia's, as the game's minimum and required specs both demand Radeon RX series cards. While the RX 570 is on par with the GTX 970, it's significantly newer and tends to go for a lot more on the used market. So, if you're planning on throwing together a cheap rig to play Back 4 Blood, you might want to stick with the green team.
Keeping your CPU temperatures low is essential for good gaming performance from your PC, whether that's because you're planning to overclock, or to prevent performance throttling and ensure reliability. That's why we've assembled this guide to buying the best CPU cooler for your system. With the odd exception, the stock CPU cooler that comes with your AMD / Intel processor probably isn't going to cut it, and in any case it's always worth looking to upgrade if your system is struggling to stay cool when put to the test.
Water cooling solutions reign supreme when it comes to overclocking because liquid needs much more energy added to it than air to increase its temperature. Still, you can get some pretty respectable speeds with the best air coolers and you won't have to worry about any potential water leaks or the higher cost of an AIO cooling system.
If you want to learn more about the best AIO coolers, then head over to our dedicated guide as it can do wonders if you're pondering how to overclock your CPU. Otherwise, stick around to find out the best CPU coolers you can buy, whether you're being mindful of your budget, form factor, or style.
Where can you find Briar Branches in New World? Harvesting from Briar bushes in New World can yield a number of different resources including Briar Branches, which are needed to complete the Windsward quest A Prickly Request. But with so much greenery around the isle of Aeternum, sticking your face into every shrub to see if it's the one you're looking for is a time-consuming prospect. On this page, we save you (at least some of) the trouble by explaining where you can find Briars in New World.
Puzzle game Bonfire Peaks is probably a metaphor about emotional baggage and closure. But I know writers who use subtext and they're all cowards. Published by Draknek (wot did the equally puzzly A Monster's Expedition), Corey Martin's new voxel Sokoban-style game features a man slowly making his way up a mountain and totemically burning all of his stuff. Secretly, though, it is a story about a man who has the only superpower people in their 30s actually want: being able to pick up and move any number of boxes at any time.
Today is another Bandcamp Friday, when the splendid DRM-free music shop waive their cut of sales to give artists more money. It's a good time to buy music from a good place but a bit overwhelming when the store is so big. Last month, I had some slightly esoteric game music recommendations of my own. This month, I've had everyone in the RPS treehouse recommend a huge spread of video game soundtracks and music on Bandcamp, from Paradise Killer to Skyrim covers. Come, see what we're hearing!
When Epic unveiled their first Unreal Engine 5 tech demo last year, its ultra-realistic geometry systems and dynamic lighting effects looked impressive and all, but the resulting Tomb Raider-esque sequence left me feeling a little cold. To my eyes, Epic's tech demo didn't really look that much different to what games look like now.
After playing a new UE5 tech demo from Japanese studio Historia, however, I am fully converted to the merits of Epic's new game engine. At 20GB-odd, The Market Of Light is a hefty download for its 15-20 run-time, but this freeform exploration game is absolutely worth a look if your PC meets its surprisingly reasonable tech requirements - especially if you're a fan of games that feature cooking. Seriously, Epic's Tomb Raider lady can get stuffed. For me, Unreal Engine 5 is all about delicious-looking next-gen food.
This week's episode of the Ultimate Audio Bang is marked by competition. Imogen and I quiz each other on all things shooter trivia, and someone knows more than the other. Anyway, before that, there's plenty of news to catch up on. Call Of Duty: Vanguard has fixed a weird dognado glitch, time-loopy shooter Lemnis Gate is out, Halo: Infinite tech preview number two arrives very soon, and Overwatch 2 announces some reworks. Spoiler alert: Bastion now has a hat.
The Forza Horizon 5 PC system requirements are out in full, and hoo boy, are you gonna need the best graphics cards to max it out. Revealed in a blog post, the new specs both update the previously listed Minimum requirements on Steam, and include an "Ideal" tier on top of the Recommended requirements. This doesn't specify a particular resolution, but does ask for either an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon Radeon RX 6800 XT as the GPU – two of the most powerful, expensive, difficult to buy graphics cards on the market.
During the Tokyo Game Show earlier today, Forspoken Co-Director Takefumi Terada and Creative Producer Raio Mitsuno both sat down to talk about their upcoming action RPG. Robots sure have a lot of uprisings in fiction, don't they? Industria is the latest game to have players get near automatons. This time, it's a short-ish first-person shooter with a strong focus on story, along with some puzzle elements. Well, at the beginning anyway. Although it was mainly put together by a couple of people, it's actually really solid. It lacks polish and ends on a pretty jarring cliffhanger, but I had a good time fighting my way through robots in this game. Where else can you hit bots with a pickax? Industria drops you into the shoes of Nora, a woman in the mid-20th century who gets a surprising phone call from her boyfriend, Walter. There's an AI hivemind called ATLAS and something weird is going on, so Nora heads to the company building to track Walter down and get to the bottom of this. Upon retracing their steps, she ends up getting sucked into some sort of temporal anomaly before waking up in a library. After finding the exit, she wake...
